Internet Protocol Television(IPTV) is the use of an IP broadband network to deliver television (cable TV type) services to the end user. Traditional telecommunications service providers as well as alternate service providers and Internet service providers can utilize their IP networks (and broadband consumer access) to deliver broadcast TV, Video on Demand (VOD) and other Internet services to the consumer. As digital technologies progress, illegal copy and redistribution of IPTV content become easier and simpler. Therefore it is required to protect IPTV content or service. In this paper, we analyze the security threats and requirements. We also discuss related issues and solutions for IPTV.
The demand of violence detection techniques using a video analysis to help prevent crimes is increasing recently. Many researchers have studied vision based behavior recognition but, violent behavior analysis techniques usually focus on violent scenes in television and movie content. Many methods previously published usually used both a color(e.g., skin and blood) and motion information for detecting violent scenes because violences usually involve blood scenes in movies. However, color information (e.g., blood scenes) may not be useful cues for violence detection in surveillance videos, because they are rarely taken in real world situations. In this paper, we propose a method of violent behavior detection in surveillance videos using motion vectors such as flow vector magnitudes and changes in direction except the color information. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, we test both USI dataset and various real world surveillance videos from YouTube.
As a demand for a new video coding standard having higher coding efficiency than the existing standards is growing, recently, MPEG and VCEG has been developing and standardizing the next-generation video coding project, named Versatile Video Coding (VVC). Many inter prediction techniques have been introduced to increase the coding efficiency, and among them, an adaptive motion vector resolution (AMVR) technique has contributed on increasing the efficiency of VVC. However, the best motion vector can only be determined by computing many rate-distortion costs, thereby increasing encoding complexity. It is necessary to reduce the complexity for real-time video broadcasting and streaming services, but it is yet an open research topic to reduce the complexity of AMVR. Therefore, in this paper, an efficient technique is proposed, which reduces the encoding complexity of AMVR. For that, the proposed method exploits a special VVC tree structure (i.e., multi-type tree structure) to accelerate the decision process of AMVR. Experiment results show that the proposed decision method reduces the encoding complexity of VVC test model by 10% with a negligible loss of coding efficiency.
The purpose of study is to investigate the customer oriented transaction environment for the customers' convenience, the plan of public policy in regard to the customer oriented T-Commerce, and the consumption pattern of customers' commercial transaction, necessary for the marketing strategy by analyzing the demand for the T-Commerce with the purchase intention and maximum willingness to pay according to the demographic factors, the pattern of commercial transaction, and the technology innovation types. The results showed that there were statistically significant relations between consumer's willingness price to pay for the T-commerce and the consumer's technology adoption types, monthly internet shopping amounts, and weekly TV-home shopping hours. The simulations on a basis of multiple regression analysis for the T-commerce were illustrated by those factors.
Point Cloud which is a cluster of numerous points can express 3D object beyond the 2D plane. Each point contains 3D coordinate and color data basically, reflectance or etc. additionally. Point Cloud demand research and development much higher effective compression technology. Video-based Point Cloud Compression (V-PCC) technology in development and standardization based on the established video codec. Despite its high effective compression technology, point cloud service will be limited by terminal spec and network conditions. 2D video had the same problems. To remedy this kind of problem, 2D video is using Scalable High efficiency Video Coding (SHVC), Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) or diverse technology. This paper proposed a density scalability method using SHVC codec in V-PCC.

We present a novel content-preserving seam estimation algorithm for real-time high-resolution video stitching. Seam estimation is one of the fundamental steps in image/video stitching. It is to minimize visual artifacts in the transition areas between images. Typical seam estimation algorithms are based on optimization methods that demand intensive computations and large memory. The algorithms, however, often fail to avoid objects and results in cropped or duplicated objects. They also lack temporal consistency and induce flickering between frames. Hence, we propose an efficient and temporarily-consistent seam estimation algorithm that utilizes a straight line. The proposed method also uses convolutional neural network-based instance segmentation to locate seam at out-of-objects. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method produces visually plausible stitched videos with minimal visual artifacts in real-time.
As multimedia contents demand and supply increase, internet traffic around the world increases. Several standardization groups are striving to establish more efficient compression standards to mitigate the problem. In particular, research to introduce deep learning technology into compression standards is actively underway. Despite the fact that deep learning-based technologies show high performance, they suffer from the domain gap problem when test video sequences have different characteristics of training video sequences. To this end, several methods have been made to introduce content-adaptive deep video compression. In this paper, we will look into these methods by three aspects: codec information-aware methods, model selection methods, and information signaling methods.

VOD(video on demand) is a video service by users' order, that is, a video service on demand. That means the users can select and watch the video content that has been saved on sewer, out of broadcasting in the usual process like TV. At present the client of VOD system bases on PC. As the PC-based client uses the software MPEG decoder, the main processor specification has an effect on the capacity. Also people, who don't know how to use their PC, cannot be provided the VOD service. The purpose of this paper is to show the process of the development the VOD client system Into the embedded type with hardware MPEG-4 decoder. The main processor is the SC1200 of x86 Family in National Semiconductor with a built-in video processor and the memory is 128Mbyte SDRAM. Also, in order that the VOD service can be provided using the Internet, the Ethernet controller is included. As the hardware MPEG-4 decoder is used in the embedded VOD client system, which is developed, it can make the low capacity of the main processor. Therefore it is able to be developed as a low-price system. The embedded VOD client system is easy for anyone to control easily with the remote control and can be played through TV.
In Korea, cable television(CATV) broadcasting has begun in March, 1995. This Paper aims at examining the location of CATV broadcasting station, and demand density(numbers of viewer houshold) of broadcasting area, and at clarifing the factors affecting subscription. The results are as follows: The number of CATV stations is 54 in 1996, and these CATV stations are mainly located in larger cities. The correlation between the number of established or planned CATV station and the number of household is very high. In sphered broadcasting area Permitted in 1997, the location of CATV station is about 73,000 household and 230,000 persons in the minimum values of household and population, and diameter of sphered broadcasting area is 40.6 km in mean. The factors affecting subscription rates of CATV are median age and supply rates of apartment of each dong in Chongju city and each myun in Chongwon county. The correlation between subscription rates of CATV and supply rates of apartment appears higher than correlation between subscription rates and median age other factors based on residual analysis of regression equation are established period of transmission network of CATV and acceptance attitude of dwellers.

In order to realize future ubiquitous, it needs to establish an environment witch service is provided to an user without user's awareness. This study suggests the mobile context awareness algorithm for that. With DB collected using LBS technology, it aims to recognize service status of a terminal and to maximize user's convenience by offering service through continuous inter-operability for various demand and environment of users against the status of a terminal. To realize the algorithm, it adds a terminal status deduction process to MSC. And then, it suggests the algorithm witch determines terminal status depending on status parameter defined by analyzing LBS-based short information by MSC. It realize C code.
