DEVELOPMENT OF VEHICLE DYNAMICS MODEL FOR REAL-TIME ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT EVALUATION SYSTEM USING KINEMATIC AND COMPLIANCE TEST DATA

  • A functional suspension model is proposed as a kinematic describing function of the suspension, that represents the relative wheel displacement in polynomial form in terms of the vertical displacement of the wheel center and steering rack displacement. The relative velocity and acceleration of the wheel is represented in terms of first and second derivatives of the kinematic describing function. The system equations of motion for the full vehicle dynamic model are systematically derived by using velocity transformation method of multi-body dynamics. The comparison of test and simulation results demonstrates the validity of the proposed functional suspension modeling method. The model is computationally very efficient to achieve real-time simulation on TMS 320C6711 150 MHz DSP board of HILS (hardware-in-the-loop simulation) system for ECU (electronic control unit) evaluation of semi-active suspension.

COMPARISON OF TEMPERATURE DERIVED FROM THE MICROWAVE SOUNDING UNIT AND MONTHLY UPPER AIR DATA.

  • We compared the satellite observed temperature with the radiosonde observed temperature in the Korean Peninsula. The radiosonde observed data were obtained from four upper air observation stations in the Korean Peninsula from 1981 to 1998, and that was compared with the satellite observed data of the channel-2 and channel-4 of microwave sounding unit(MSU) on board NOAA series of polar-orbiting satellites. The radiosonde data were reconstructed into monthly radiosonde T$_{b}$ using MSU weighting function. The monthly climatology shows radiosonde T$_{b2}$ is higher than MSU T$_{b2}$ in summer. The correlation between MSU T$_{b2}$ and radiosonde T$_{b2}$ is 0.72-0.76 and 0.73-0.81 between MSU T$_{b4}$ and radiosonde T$_{b4}$.

  • Recently, the system of the industry demands quick and accurate measurement for the mass production and high quality. Also, we need to improve the accuracy to decrease the failure rate in automatic assembly processing and improve the confidence, durability and the compatibility of parts. To answer this tendency and requirement, we have developed many accrate measuring instruments and methods. In this paper, we develop the whidows program using the DSP board(TMS320C25) which is used the data acquisition and the Visual C $^{++}$ , a windows programming language. We perform the measurement, analysis and output process in GUI(Graphic User Interface)environment. By using system, we will save the time required for the hand-worked measurement and avoid the useless iterative measurement. Furthermore, we expect to improve the productivity through automotive quality control in manufacturing process.s.

  • In the last decades, the increasing interest in unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) for military, surveillance, and rescue applications made necessary the development of flight control theory and body structure more and more efficient and fast. In this paper, we describe the design and performance of a prototype hexarotor UAV platform featuring an inertial measurement unit(IMU) based autonomous-flying for use in bluetooth communication environments. The proposed system comprises the construction of the test hexarotor platform, the implementation of an IMU, dynamic modeling and simulation in the hexarotor helicopter. Furthermore, the hexarotor helicopter with implemented IMU is connected with a micro controller unit(ARM-cortex) board. The P-PD control algorithm was used to control the hexarotor. We used the Matlab software to help us to tune the P-PD control parameters for quick response and minimizing the fluctuation. The control simulation and experiment on the real system are implemented in the test platform, evaluated and compared against each other.

  • 본 논문에서는 싱글 보드컴퓨터(SBC)에서 마우스와 디지타이저를 이용한 입력장치설계에 대하여 연구하고자 한다. 산업용 제어현장에서 사용되는 SBC는 아날로그 방식의 입력장치를 주로 사용하지만, 현재의 컴퓨터 주변장치를 직접 사용할 수 없는 경우가 대부분이다. 본 논문에서는 PC에서 사용하는 다양한 주변장치를 SBC에서 사용할 수 있도록 신호를 변환하는 입력장치를 설계 제작하였다. PC 주변장치는 MCU를 이용하여 신호를 해석한 후, SBC 입력장치 신호형식으로 변환하여 제공하였다. 설계 제작된 입력장치는 마우스 디지타이져, 터치스크린 등 다양한 장치들을 SBC에서 사용이 가능함을 보였다.

  • SENT (single edge nibble transmission) is a serial communication protocol between automotive sensors and ECU (electronic control unit). SENT exploits digital waveform, so it has a simple and cheap architecture without transceiver circuits. Usually it is exploited as an embedded communication interface in the sensors. In this paper, a SENT interface was designed in Verilog HDL, fully complying with SAE J2716. It was implemented in FPGA, and verified on a test board. When it was synthesized, the gate count is about 2,500 gates in 0.18um technology.

  • The fuel cell based auxiliary power unit (APU) is promising for power source of armed vehicles due to its silence and high efficiency. Especially, the on board hydrogen generation and fed to fuel cell system was core technology of this power system. In this study, we analyzed the performance of the Auto thermal reactor (ATR) that produce the hydrogen from the fuel, integrated High temperature polymer electrolyte fuel cell (HT-PEFC) by Aspen plus software. The fuel was designed as a n-dodecane for analysis of military fuel (JP-8).

Numerical Analysis of Thermal Deformation of a PCB for Semiconductor Package at Panel, Strip and Unit Levels (수치해석을 이용한 판넬과 스트립 및 유닛 레벨 반도체 패키지용 PCB의 열변형 해석)

  • In this study, we conducted numerical analyses using the Taguchi method and finite element method to calculate the thermal deformation of a printed circuit board and the effect of design factors on the thermal deformation. Analysis results showed that the thermal deformation of the panel had the strongest effect on the thermal deformation and shape of the strip and unit. In particular, the deformation in the z direction was larger than that in the xy-plane direction. The effect of design factors and the design conditions for reducing the thermal deformation of the panel and strip changed at the unit level. Therefore, it is recommended that panel-level thermal deformation must be controlled to reduce the final thermal deformation at the unit level because the thermal deformation of the strip strongly affects that of the unit.

  • This paper describes on-board decentralized data acquisition system that acquires and encodes the numerous sensor data distributed on the big flight vehicles efficiently. The system's sub-units which have one encoder unit and several remote units were designed and simulated according to the communication protocols and the control, sequence logics based on the FPGA chip. And we have made the functional verification of the acquisition, collection and formatting of remote analog and digital data for the manufactured hardwares.

  • Demands for semiconductor devices are dramatically increasing, and advancements in fabrication technology are allowing a step-up in the number of devices per unit area. As a result, semiconductor devices require higher heat dissipation, and thus, cooling solutions have become important for guaranteeing their operational reliability. In particular, in chip-in-board packages, in which chips and passives are embedded in the substrates for efficient device layout, heat dissipation is of greater importance. In this study, a thermal model for layers of different materials has been proposed, and then, the heat transfer has been simulated by imposing a set of appropriate boundary conditions. Heat generation can be predicted based on the results, which will be utilized as practical data for actual package design.
