$CF_4$ gas is one of the most useful gases in modern technologies for semiconductor fabrication. However, there are many problems which should be solved in order to fabricate semiconductor device, for example, etching speed drop due to ion charge-up and etching selectivity drop due to the high electron energy. One of useful method in order to suppress their damages above is pulsed-time modulated plasma (PM). However, transient responses of charged particles occur when the source power is turned-on and -off in PM method. To control plasma properties in detail, such a transient phenomenon must be investigated. In this paper, we investigate $CF_4$ RF plasma properties under a one-dimensional fluid model. And also for dynamic and stable control of $CF_4$ plasmas, we investigated the transient behavior of the plasmas after step up or down of the amplitude of the power source voltage $V_s$(t). Fundamental properties of transient $CF_4$ plasmas was discussed. Furthermore, we intend to discuss new method for pulsed-time plasma modulation.

A power-efficient neuromodulator is needed for implantable systems. In spite of their stimulation signal's simplicity of wave shape and waiting time of MCU(micro controller unit) much longer than execution time, there is no consideration for low-power design. In this paper, we propose a novel of low-power algorithm based on the characteristics of stimulation signals. Then, we designed and implement a neuromodulation software that we call NMS(neuro modulation simulation). In order to implement low-power algorithm, first, we analyze running time of every function in existing NMS. Then, we calculate execution time and waiting time for these functions. Subsequently, we estimate the transition time between active mode (AM) and low-power mode (LPM). By using these results, we redesign the architecture of NMS in the proposed low-power algorithm: a stimulation signal divided into a number of segments by using characteristics of the signal from which AM or LPM segments are defined for determining the MCU power reduces to turn off or not. Our experimental results indicate that NMS with low-power algorithm reducing current consumption of MCU by 76.31 percent compared to NMS without low-power algorithm.

This paper presents the on -line techniques of SHE-PvVI\I for GTO current source converter. The look-up t table is linearized with this proposed method so that the tum-on/off periods of the GTO switches can be c computed in real-time for any modulation index. This allows the rapid and continuous regulation of the DC O output current while producing the sinusoidal AC input current waveform and unity power factor. The l linearized S}lE-PW~I technique and the high power factor control scheme are Prolxlsed and their‘ performance i is tested analytically. The validity of this proposed technique is well verified through the simulation and e experimental results.

In this paper, we study the interference canceling and image sensing processing technology of multiple light sources for high speed transmission in CMOS sensor based visible light communication system. To improve transmission capacity in optical camera communications via image sensors, different data must be transmitted simultaneously from each LED. However, multiple LED light source environments for high-speed transmission can cause interference between adjacent LEDs. In this case, since the visible light communication system generally uses intensity modulation, when a plurality of LEDs transmit data at the same time, it is difficult to accurately detect the respective LEDs due to the light scattering interference of the adjacent LEDs. In order to solve this problem, the ON / OFF state of many LEDs of the light source is accurately recognized by using a dual CMOS sensor, and the spectral estimation technique and the pixel image signal processing technique of each LED are proposed. This technique can accurately recognize multiple LED pixels and improve the total average bit error rate and throughput of a MISO-VLC system.

This paper presents boost and buck and buck-boost DC-DC converter circuit topologies of high-frequency soft switching transition PWM chopper type DC-DC high power converters with a single auxiliary passive resonant snubber. In the proposed boost power converter circuits operating under a principle of ZCS turn-on and ZVS turn-off commutation schemes, the capacitor and inductor in the auxiliary passive resonant circuit works as the loss less resonant snubber. In addition to this, the switching voltage and current peak stresses as well as EMI and RFI noises can be basically reduced by this single passive resonant snubber. Moreover, it is proved that converter circuit topologies with a passive resonant snubber are capable of solving some problems of the conventional hard switching PWM processing based on high-ferquency pulse modulation operation principle. The simulation results of this converter are discussed as compared with the experimental ones. The effectiveness of this power converter with a single passive resonant snubber is verified by the 5kW experimental breadboad set up.
This Study focused on the development of SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply) to supply the constant votage and current nevertheless LED fluorescent Light generated the electric noise (with Harmonics) and Inrush current at instant time of turn-on and off. Recently, according to the Green policy in government, the LED fluorescent Lighter showed the rapidly increasing tend as indoor and outdoor Lighter. But, because of costs, LED fluorescent Light not considered and neglected the following items; power factor, efficiency, Harmonics and Inrush current. So, we are developed the SMPS about 3 key issues as follows: 1st, power factor and efficiency is 85%. 2nd, the switching noisy by harmonic is minimized. 3rd, the Inrush current at turn on and off time is reduced the minimum 0.3 A after $100{\mu}sec$ on turnon time. The proposed SMPS adjusted by LNK 409 driver (included the high frequency modulation function). Although, the developed SMPS maintained the about 85% of power factor and efficiency. but, the SMPS must be generated low heat by the variation of minute load current at switching timing. To improve the above weak point, the developed SMPS have the feedback monitoring circuit between input side and output side to maintain the power factor and efficiency. Also, we are studied the time-constant of control circuit to output the constant voltage and current nevertheless the load disturbance of LED lighting. The LED fluorescent Light of 46W is checked the above items.
All-optical switching has been demonstrated in bacteriorhodopsin (bR) based on nonlinear intensity induced excited state absorption. The transmission of a cw probe laser beam at 410 nm corresponding to the peak absorption of M state through a bR film is switched by a pulsed pump laser beam at 570 nm that corresponds to the maximum initial 8 state absorption. The switching characteristics have been analyzed using the rate equation approach considering all the six intermediate states (B, K, L, M, N and 0) in the bR photocycle. The switching characteristics are shown to be sensitive to life time of the M state, absorption cross-section of the 8 state at probe wavelength ($\sigma$$\_$Bp/) and peak pump intensity. It has been shown that the probe laser beam can be completely switched off (100 % modulation) by the pump laser beam at relatively low pump powers, for $\sigma$$\_$Bp/ = O. The switching characteristics have been used to design all-optical NOT, OR, AND and the universal NOR and NAND logic gates for optical computing with two pulsed pump laser beams.

The traveling wave tube amplifier (TWTA), which can be applied to the Ka-band millimeter-wave multi-mode seeker, consists of an high voltage power supply(HVPS), a grid modulator, a command and control, and an RF assembly. We designed a power supply that generates a -17.9 kV high voltage by synchronizing the pulse repetition frequency(PRF) and power supply switching frequency(i.e. synchronization frequency), and a high-speed grid-switching modulator for RF pulse modulation. The TWTA, which is fabricated through miniaturization with a volume of 3.18 L, has high pulse switching characteristics of up to 18.5 ns. The maximum rise/fall time of the grid on/bias signal and peak power is more than 564.9 W. Moreover, an excellent spurious performance of -68.4 dBc or less was confirmed within the range of PRF and PRF/2.

We have investigated operation of a 1:2:2 asymmetric 3-stage Doherty PA(Power Amplifier) and implemented using the Freescale's 4 W, 10 W PEP LDMOSFETS at 1 GHz. By employing the three peak efficiency characteristics, compared to the two peak N-way Doherty PA, the asymmetric 3-stage Doherty can overcome the serious efficiency degradation along the backed-off output power region and maximize the average efficiency for the modulation signal. To maximize the efficiency characteristic, the inverse class F PA has been designed as carrier and peaking amplifiers. Furthermore, to extract the proper load modulation operation, the adaptive gate bias control signal has been applied to the two peaking PAs based on the envelope tracking technique. For the 802.16e Mobile WiMAX(World Interoperability for Microwave Access) signal with 8.5 dB PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio), the proposed Doherty PA has shown 55.46 % of high efficiency at an average output power of 36.85 dBm while maintaining the -37.23 dB of excellent RCE(Relative Constellation Error) characteristic. This is the first time demonstration of applying the saturated PA and adaptive gate bias control technique to the asymmetric 3-stage Doherty PA for the highly efficient transmitter of the base-station application.

Processing a large area substrate for liquid crystal display (LCD) or solar panel applications in a capacitively coupled plasma (CCP) reactor is becoming increasingly challenging because of the size of the substrate size is no longer negligible compared to the wavelength of the applied radio frequency (RF) power. The situation is even worse when the driving frequency is increased to the Very High Frequency (VHF) range. When the substrate size is still smaller than 1/8 of the wavelength, one can obtain reasonably uniform process results by utilizing with methods such as tailoring the precursor gas distribution by adjustingthrough shower head hole distribution or hole size modification, locally adjusting the distance between the substrate and the electrode, and shaping shower head holes to modulate the hollow cathode effect modifying theand plasma density distribution by shaping shower head holes to adjust the follow cathode effect. At higher frequencies, such as 40 MHz for Gen 8.5 (2.2 m${\times}$2.6 m substrate), these methods are not effective, because the substrate is large enough that first node of the standing wave appears within the substrate. In such a case, the plasma discharge cannot be sustained at the node and results in an extremely non-uniform process. At Applied Materials, we have studied several methods of modifying the standing wave pattern to adjusting improve process non-uniformity for a Gen 8.5 size CCP reactor operating in the VHF range. First, we used magnetic materials (ferrite) to modify wave propagation. We placed ferrite blocks along two opposing edges of the powered electrode. This changes the boundary condition for electro-magnetic waves, and as a result, the standing wave pattern is significantly stretched towards the ferrite lined edges. In conjunction with a phase modulation technique, we have seen improvement in process uniformity. Another method involves feeding 40 MHz from four feed points near the four corners of the electrode. The phase between each feed points are dynamically adjusted to modify the resulting interference pattern, which in turn modulate the plasma distribution in time and affect the process uniformity. We achieved process uniformity of <20% with this method. A third method involves using two frequencies. In this case 40 MHz is used in a supplementary manner to improve the performance of 13 MHz process. Even at 13 MHz, the RF electric field falls off around the corners and edges on a Gen 8.5 substrate. Although, the conventional methods mentioned above improve the uniformity, they have limitations, and they cannot compensate especially as the applied power is increased, which causes the wavelength becomes shorter. 40 MHz is used to overcome such limitations. 13 MHz is applied at the center, and 40 MHz at the four corners. By modulating the interference between the signals from the four feed points, we found that 40 MHz power is preferentially channeled towards the edges and corners. We will discuss an innovative method of controlling 40 MHz to achieve this effect.
