  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for identifying ${\omega}_j{\in}(0,\;{\infty}),\;a_j,b_j{\in}\mathbb{C}$ and N of the following trigonometric series $f(t)=a_0+ \sum\limits_{j=1}^N[a_jcos{\omega}_jt+b_j\;sin{\omega}_jt]$ by means of the finite number of sample values. We prove that the frequency components are shown to be the solutions of some characteristic equation related to the inverse of a Hankel matrix derived from the sample values.

  • In this paper we present an algorithm based on network flow techniques which provides a solution for a combinatorial problem. Then, in order to provide all the solutions of this problem, we make use of an algorithm that given the bipartite graph $G=(V_1 {\cup}{V_2},\;E,\;{\omega})$ outputs the enumeration of all bipartite matchings of given cardinality v and cost c.

  • The paper describes a robust adaptive control algorithm for induction motor drive without speed sensor at low speed range. The control algorithm use only current sensors in a space vector pulse width modulation within loop control with rotor speed estimation and voltage source inverter. On-line rotor speed estimation is based on utilizing parallel model reference adaptive control system. MRAC of the modified flux model for flux and rotor speed estimator uses dual-adaptation mechanism, ${\omega}_r$ and ${\omega}_e$ scheme. The estimated flux components in the model can be compensated from the effects of offset errors on pure integrals. It can be compensated to the parameter variations and torque fluctuation with speed estimation in less then 10 rad/sec. In a simulation, the proposed induction motor control algorithm without speed sensor at very low speed range are shown to operate very well in spite of variable rotor time constant and fluctuating load without change the controller parameters. The suggested control strategy and estimation method have been validated by simulation study, and it proposed the designed system for the implementation using TI320C31 DSP/ASIC controller.

  • An Euler/Navier Stokes solver has been developed for the analysis of steady and unsteady flows. The $q-{\omega}$ turbulent model has been incorporated into the solver in strongly coupled manner for stability and robustness. A new Chimera hole cutting algorithm, Cut-paste algorithm, has been devised for automatic Chimera hole cutting. Number of viscous/inviscid numerical computations demonstrate the accuracy and the versatility of the solver.

  • The installation of grounding systems is important for the safe operation of power systems, and the soil resistivity is an important design consideration for such systems. It varies markedly with the soil type, moisture content and temperature. The Jeju geological structure is formed in a multi-layered structure characteristic of volcanic areas and, and the geological ground resistance values can appear even constructed the same areas ground system different from the soil structure. In this study, a mock-up system using representative soil from Jeju was constructed to analyze the variation of the grounding resistance. The mock-up system was configured using the Gauss-Newton algorithm inversion method to analyze the model numerically using the Wenner method through the soil resistivity measurements used to create the ground model. Also, we analyzed the change in the general ground resistance characteristics of the copper rod, copper pipe, and carbon rod that are used for grounding. The variation of the grounding resistance with the hydration status was found to be $2.9[{\Omega}]$, $16.5[{\Omega}]$ and $20.1[{\Omega}]$ for the copper rod, copper pipes, and carbon rod, respectively, and the influence of the ground moisture resistance of the carbon rod was found to be the lowest with a value of $141[{\Omega}]$.

  • The differential pressure venturi-cone flowmeter is an advanced flowmeter which has many advantages such as wide range of measurement, high accuracy, excellent flow turn-down ratio, low headless, short installation pipe length requirement, and etc. Like other differential pressure flowmeters, the venturi-cone flowmeter uses the law of energy conservation, but its shape and position make it perform better than others. The cone acts as its own flow conditioner and mixer, fully conditioning and mixing the flow prior to measurement. For the analysis, we used Reynolds-averaged Wavier-Stokes equations and k-$\omega$ turbulence model. The equations were fully transformed into the computational domain, the pressure-velocity coupling was made through SIMPLER algorithm, and the equations were discretized using finite analytic solutions of the liberalized equations(Finite Analytic Method). To control the separation phenomenon on the cone surface, we proposed a new shape of cone, and analyzed the flowfield in the new flowmeter system, and found the improvement on the performance of the new cone flowmeter.

  • Emerging social networking services provide a new paradigm for human-to-human communication. However, these services are centralized and managed by single service provider. In this paper, we propose MicroPost, a decentralized event notification service architecture for social applications based on publish/subscribe model. In our design space, event brokers are structured as an overlay network which provides the substrate of distributed peer-to-peer lookup service for storing and retrieving subscriptions with hashed keys. Event clients interact with event brokers to publish or subscribe social messages over the wide-area network. Using XML standards, we present an efficient algorithm to forward events for rendezvous-based matching in this paper. In our design space, the cost of routing is O(${\omega}log_kN$), where N is the number of event brokers, ${\omega}$ is the number of meta-data obtained from event messages, and k is a constant, which is selected by our design, to divide the identifier space and to conquer the lookup of given key. Consequently, what we achieved is an asynchronous social messaging service architecture which is decentralized, efficient, scalable, and flexible.

  • This paper deals with the dynamical analysis of a vessel that leads to capsize in regular beam seas. The complete investigation of nonlinear behaviors includes sub-harmonic motion, bifurcation, and chaos under variations of control parameters. The vessel rolling motions can exhibit various undesirable nonlinear phenomena. We have employed a linear-plus-cubic type damping term (LPCD) in a nonlinear rolling equation. Using the fourth order Runge-Kutta algorithm with the phase portraits, various dynamical behaviors (limit cycles, bifurcations, and chaos) are presented in beam seas. On increasing the value of control parameter ${\Omega}$, chaotic behavior interspersed with intermittent periodic windows are clearly observed in the numerical simulations. The chaotic region is widely spread according to system parameter ${\Omega}$ in the range of 0.1 to 0.9. When the value of the control parameter is increased beyond the chaotic region, periodic solutions are dominant in the range of frequency ratio ${\Omega}=1.01{\sim}1.6$. In addition, one more important feature is that different types of stable harmonic motions such as periodicity of 2T, 3T, 4T and 5T exist in the range of ${\Omega}=0.34{\sim}0.83$.

  • Doubly stochastic matrices are n$\times$n nonnegative ma-trices whose row and column sums are all 1. Convex polytope $\Omega$$_{n}$ of doubly stochastic matrices and more generally (R,S), so called transportation polytopes, are important since they form the domains for the transportation problems. A theorem by Birkhoff classifies the extremal matrices of , $\Omega$$_{n}$ and extremal matrices of transporta-tion polytopes (R,S) were all classified combinatorially. In this article, we consider signed version of $\Omega$$_{n}$ and (R.S), obtain signed Birkhoff theorem; we define a new class of convex polytopes (R,S), calculate their dimensions, and classify their extremal matrices, Moreover, we suggest an algorithm to express a matrix in (R,S) as a convex combination of txtremal matrices. We also give an example that a polytope of signed matrices is used as a domain for a decision problem. In this context of finite reflection(Coxeter) group theory, our generalization may also be considered as a generalization from type $A_{*}$ n/ to type B$_{n}$ D$_{n}$. n/.

  • This paper describes an algorithm for calculating load impedance by measuring voltage and current components using a VI sensor in a 13.56 MHz impedance automatic matching system. We propose an algorithm that improves the error rate by using an arbitrary complex calibration load instead of the conventional $50{\Omega}$ calibration load. The error rate is targeted to attain average values of $R_{IN}$ and $X_{IN}$ at 1% and 20% or less, respectively. First, the IF frequency is calculated using a mixer to reduce the error rate. Second, when the arbitrary complex load is used as the calibration load, the error rate $R_{IN}$ decreased from 4.7 % to 0.3 % on average, and $X_{IN}$ decreased from 102 % to 18.3 % on average.
