  • The purpose of this study is to establish management and support system for traditional medical manuscripts using bibliographical, linguistic and traditional medical methods in order to protect disappearing and take advantage of traditional medicine. We'll translate selective traditional medical manuscripts into Korean and build a database and computerized database, which improve value of future diverse application and restore and give shape to traditional medical documents by providing methods for ontology of traditional medicine. We also arrange and analyze the old traditional medical books with diverse study system and evaluate medical usefullness. We intend to provide practical use of the prescription in based medicine as well as clinical medicine by reinterpretation from modem viewpoint.

  • This paper introduces the elaboration of official documents, archival organizations, and the tradition of records in Mongolia from 1694 to 1921. Modern records management began in 1912. Back then, Mongolians had special rules to send and receive official documents, and to register the sent and received official documents. Official documents were used to deliver decrees and policies of the Khan and were used to deal with internal affairs. After their independence in 1911, the traditional documents were collected and preserved. Records managers and archivists were trained by decrees in Mongolia.

  • This study is analyzed the cited documents after selecting Management Administration Economics Trades in order to comprehend the study sphere and tendency for the three years from 2005 to 2007 in which 540 articles and 22,147 cited documents. In the analyzing result, the scientific study exchange communication activities is making progress more actively by the sole study rather than the joint study and over 77% of references are published before around 10 year-old, specifically 8.5 year-old documents have been used the most. The half-life period is 10.9 years for domestic books and 11.1 years for international books. For the journals, it is 6.0 years for domestic and 8.2 years for international which tells international articles are slightly longer half-life period than domestics.

  • The worthness of life of an elderly person is a subjective thing that is based on the individual's sense of values, and it depends on what he or she pursues in life. Therefore, the quality of life is a relative concept and it varies according to individual tastes and changes of values resulted from changes of social framework. The purpose of this study is to furnish information about the basic plan for the increase of Q.O.L. There are three methods used in this study. First is to understand the structure and the factors related to Q.O.L by research and documents. Second, site survey and analysis of urban and rural areas, for example Seoul and Jochiwon, and third, study the condition of the old using SPSS. The result of study to enrich the Q.O.L of the old can be categorized into two ways. First, the old themselves has to satisfy the image of the old who has a high Q.O.L. Second, the community has to support the proper environment for the old to get worth of life.

  • The Resource Description Framework(RDF), which emerged with the semantic web, is settling down as a standard for representing information about the resources in the World Wide Web Hence, a lot of research on storing and query processing RDF documents has been done and several RDF storage systems, such as Sesame and Jena, have been developed. But the research on updating RDF documents is still insufficient. When a RDF document is changed, data in the RDF triple store also needs to be updated. However, current RDF triple stores don't support incremental update. So updating can be peformed only by deleting the old version and then storing the new document. This updating method is very inefficient because RDF documents are steadily updated. Furthermore, it makes worse when several RDF documents are stored in the same database. In this paper, we propose an incremental update algorithm on RDF, documents in triple stores. We use a text matching technique for two versions of a RDF document and compensate for the text matching result to find the right target triples to be updated. We show that our approach efficiently update RDF documents through experiments with real-life RDF datasets.

  • Ecological concepts were embedded in the old Korean maps and other documents. The concepts may represent ecological views which people had at the time. Through those ecological views, we propose that we can see a watershed concept in old Korean maps. We also discuss relevant records to understand the history of this concept. While many scholars have highlighted in the Baekdoodaegan frame only the pan of the mountain ranges, we are pointing out other perspectives. Our emphasis is that the concept is explicitly related to a watershed concept. An old Korean map shows that people at that time divided the Korean Peninsula into many watersheds, which was as early as 1402. We can even say that the idea is identified in a literal document written in the 12th century. It is hypothesized that a typical Korean landscape configuration was developed in the arrangement of village and surrounding landscape elements situated in a watershed. In addition, we suggest that the view had some negative effects on the current society. Even though the ideas of our ancestor are something to be praised, further study is needed to improve it in a wise manner.

  • When investigating old, printed documents, determining whether a work is printed on a woodblock or using a movable metal type is crucial. It is because the history of printing in Korea and across the world relies on determining the relevant printing invention used and the time of use of the movable metal type. Deciphering details from woodblock and metal prints requires various kinds of information regarding the imprint and the work's printing background, such as information on the characters in the printed document, the outline of the pages, the type of ink used, the production period of the ink, and the production period of the Korean paper. Analyzing such information can generally reveal the production period and the methods used on the old document. However, as such information is not documented systematically, relying on the researcher's judgment based on their experience and perception becomes inevitable. This study conducted an experimental investigation of the printing characteristics of woodblock prints using a replicated woodblock of the Wanpanbon edition of the Shimcheongjeon. Subsequently, the various phenomena and characteristics appearing on the woodblock prints were documented for future reference to determine the printing method of old documents. Finally, woodblock novels without an imprint may be used as a reference to estimate the printing dates by determining the degree of wear on the woodblock.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the tendency of the research on the traditional scenery architecture based on the old literature for the last 10 years and to suggest direction of the research on the traditional scenery through utilization of the old literature. For the tendency analysis of the research on the traditional scenery, I investigated and analyzed researches published in the Journal of the Korean Institute of Traditional Landscape Architecture between 2002 and 2012, and reviewed the utilization of the old literature about research on the traditional scenery. The number of the research papers through the old literature was two or three a year by 2009, but has increased to more than eight from 2010. The utilization tendency of the old literature was mostly to use the Korean translations or to use a collection of an individual's works after partially translating. As some of the researches were carried out only through translations even when they used the original, historical evidence on the translation of the original was insufficient. I can suggest the direction of the research on the traditional scenery by the results as follows: it is necessary to present both translation and the original and to specify the source of translation, for the efficient understanding and verification of the original. Professional translation of landscape architecture and scenery also seems to be necessary for the records of the current state. For the analysis of the old literature, as the analysis of the traditional scenery both through poetry and records facilitates assumption of the location of landscape by the abundant data, it seems to be necessary to approach research, using poetry and prose complementarily, after preparing foundation of research based on the records.
