Background: In order to design effective educational intervention for cancer survivors, it is necessary to identify most-trusted sources for health-related information and the amount of attention paid to each source. Objective: The objective of our study was to explore the sources of health information used by cancer survivors according to their access to the internet and levels of trust in and attention to those information sources. Materials and Methods: We analyzed sources of health information among cancer survivors using selected questions adapted from the 2012 Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS). Results: Of 357 participants, 239 (67%) had internet access (online survivors) while 118 (33%) did not (offline survivors). Online survivors were younger (p<0.001), more educated (p<0.001), more non-Hispanic whites (p<0.001), had higher income (p<0.001), had more populated households (p<0.001) and better quality of life (p<0.001) compared to offline survivors. Prevalence of some disabilities was higher among offline survivors including serious difficulties with walking or climbing stairs (p<0.001), being blind or having severe visual impairment (p=0.001), problems with making decisions (p<0.001), doing errands alone (p=0.001) and dressing or bathing (p=0.001). After adjusting for socio-demographic status, cancer survivors who were non-Hispanic whites (OR= 3.49, p<0.01), younger (OR=4.10, p<0.01), more educated (OR= 2.29, p=0.02), with greater income (OR=4.43, p<0.01), and with very good to excellent quality of life (OR=2.60, p=0.01) had higher probability of having access to the internet, while those living in Midwest were less likely to have access (OR= 0.177, p<0.01). Doctors (95.5%) were the most and radio (27.8%) was the least trusted health related information source among all cancer survivors. Online survivors trusted internet much more compared to those without access (p<0.001) while offline cancer survivors trusted health-related information from religious groups and radio more than those with internet access (p<0.001 and p=0.008). Cancer survivors paid the most attention to health information on newsletters (63.8%) and internet (60.2%) and the least to radio (19.6%). More online survivors paid attention to internet than those without access (68.5% vs 39.1%, p<0.001) while more offline survivors paid attention to radio compared to those with access (26.8% vs 16.5%, p=0.03). Conclusions: Our findings emphasize the importance of improving the access and empowering the different sources of information. Considering that the internet and web technologies are continuing to develop, more attention should be paid to improve access to the internet, provide guidance and maintain the quality of accredited health information websites. Those without internet access should continue to receive health-related information via their most trusted sources.
With the development of information and communication technology, logistics distribution systems and services have been improved, new types of services have been provided, and consumption patterns in consumer markets have also changed. In the domestic distribution market, the development of ICT technology, the spread of smart devices, and the growth of the e-commerce market have led to Omni-channel, a service that integrates offline channels and online channels. Omni-channel service aims to provide consumers with consistent and convenient service by integrating offline and online domain into one. Consumers can get integrated service on and offline. In this study, consumers' intention to use Omni-channel was examined by Self Determination Theory and SERVQUAL. The survey was conducted on Omni-channel user and the research model was composed of 2nd order factor model considering the characteristics of Omni-channel which provides integrated service based on the prior literature and PLS-SEM (partial least squares structural equation modeling).
I conducted empirical analyses of what happens when an offline channel expands to an online channel and whether the pre-existing offline channel's competitive assets (e.g. brand reputation and level of service satisfaction) can be linked to online channel preference. I found that an offline channel's brand reputation and level of service satisfaction can have a direct influence on offline channel preference and a second-hand influence on online channel preference. Thus, if the competitiveness of the online channel is strong enough and its customers have a higher preference for the offline channel, they will be committed and loyal to the company. The resultant enhanced competitiveness of the offline channel will present opportunities for both present and future success. The main results are the following. First, the management of the distribution channel service quality is more important than that of the brand reputation. Customers' experiences of service and subjective evaluations are not important only as the leading factors in the long-term brand reputation management but also as influential factors in channel preference. SoThus, given that the service quality of the pre-existing channel is not the customers' main concern, a strategy of improving the level of service satisfaction aimed at present customers is more valuable than a wide brand positioning strategy aimed at general and new customers. Second, when an offline channel company establishes an internet shopping mall on an online channel, it is highly likely that the preference and subjective evaluation of the present customers will influence the online channel. This applies not only to the special case of an expansion from an offline intermediary channel to an online one, but also to an online channel acting as an expansion of the business model of a conventional manufacturing or service company: both cases are vertical integrations of marketing channels in an expansion of the distribution channel. My theory applies to a wide range of contexts. Third and finally, any business strategy can grasp the meaning of 'channel expansion. Fundamentally, it is an expansion of the sales activity channel and marketing activity. However, it is also a way of enhancing marketing and sales competitiveness through an expansion to an online or offline channel. The expansion of an offline company to an online channel could be seen not as improvement but as an innovation of the business process by which two goals are achieved with one technique. The former is expected to increase the sales of the offline company, and the latter is also expected to increase sales while also contributing to cost reduction.

Online retailers' offline channel expansion is rapidly growing as an important consumer incentive strategy, despite the enormous initial costs of establishing a store. This study focuses on the offline channel operation of online shopping malls, and examines the effects and influencing factors of the channel expansion strategy from a consumer perspective. In-depth interviews were conducted with ten customers in their 20s and 30s who had visited online retailers' stores or purchased products. Major issues were extracted based on the framework of a channel effect mechanism proposed by Cao and Li (2015). Subsequently, it was found that existing online retailers could enhance brand image and perception by expanding their channels to offline stores. It was also emphasized that the consumer trust on the quality of the product in offline stores is a key variable, and it has a significant influence on consumer's continuous purchase and revisit intention. This study showed that borderless channel integration was the most important task when expanding channels of online retailers. So it will be necessary to strive for an omni-channel strategy so that channel integration can be strategically executed and consumers can interact regardless of channels.
In computer graphics, high-quality lens flares have been generated using costly offline rendering. A recent matrix-based approximation has enabled generation of high-quality lens flares suitable for real-time applications, but its quality degrades due to the lack of nonlinear patterns of lens flares. This paper introduces a method for high-quality lens-flare rendering, which includes blending of both nonlinear as well as linear patterns. The nonlinear patterns are pre-rendered or photo-graphically captured offline and stored in a look-up table. The online stage reads only the pattern by looking up the table using a light angle, hence making its performance drop negligible while greatly improving the quality.
"Online Alternative Dispute Resolution" can refer to the use of online methods of dispute resolution to resolve disputes arising either online or offline. The range of disputes covered by online ADR has been broad : from family law to internet domain name disputes : from small transaction to insurance disputes. Online and offline consumer disputes have been a major focus of online ADR sites. This article propsed that the mediator should explain the process and the mediator's role so as to forestall misunderstanding on that score. And mediators should consider including in either usual mediation agreements additional provisions applicable to communications by email. Online ADR sites should be designed 1) to provide a simple, easily understandable process, 2) to provide detailed information on process, cost and speed, 3) to enable users to move between online and offline processes, 4) to have authentication processes for parties and documents, 5) to have automatic translation system for language barriers. And Government should play an important role in assisting people to adapt technically and emotionally to new technology through information, training and ongoing support. The days of live online television-quality videoconferencing have not yet arrived. Until then, we must hone our skills with the written word.
In this study, we investigated the effect of offline banking trust on smart banking trust. As influencing factors of smart banking trust, this study compared offline banking trust, smart banking's system quality, and information quality. For the empirical study, 186 questionnaire data were collected from smart banking users and the data were analyzed using Smart-PLS 2.0. As results, it was verified that there is trust transfer in FinTech service, by the significant effect of offline banking trust on smart banking trust. And it was proved that the effect of offline banking trust on smart banking trust is lower than that of smart banking itself. The contribution of this study can be seen in both academic and industrial aspects. First, it is the contribution of the academic aspect. Previous studies on banking were focused on either offline banking or smart banking. But this study, focus on the relationship between offline banking and online banking, proved that offline banking trust affects smart banking trust. Next, it is the industrial contribution. This study showed that offline banking characteristics of traditional commercial banks affect the trust of emerging smart banking service. This means that the emerging FinTech companies are not advantageous in the competition of trust building compared to traditional commercial banks. Unlike traditional commercial banks, the emerging FinTech is innovating the convenience of customers by arming them with new technologies such as mobile Internet, social network, cloud technology, and big data. However, these FinTech strengths alone can not guarantee sufficient trust needed for financial transactions, because banking customers do not change a habit or an inertia that they already have during using traditional banks. Therefore, emerging FinTech companies should strive to create destructive value that reflects the connection with various Internet services and the strength of online interaction such as social services, which have an advantage over customer contacts. And emerging FinTech companies should strive to build service trust, focused on young people with low resistance to new services.
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the impact of two types of information quality, which are platform-oriented information quality and customer-oriented information quality, on customers' decision-making processes in the Online to offline (O2O) platform environment. Grounded in the product brokering efficiency model, which encompasses screening cost, evaluation cost, and decision quality, a model framework was developed. Furthermore, this study explores how these decision-making processes affect customer loyalty. Methods: Given that food delivery apps are the most widely used O2O service in Korea, this study targeted users of these apps for data analysis. We conducted hypothesis testing through a purposive sampling methodology focusing on food delivery app users. A Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling analysis was conducted to analyze the data. The data collection occurred via an online survey from October to December 2021, with a total of 212 respondents participating. Results: The results of this study revealed the significant role of information quality in helping customers' decision processes while using food delivery apps. Specifically, it was found that platform-oriented information positively influences decision quality, while customer-oriented information significantly affects both the reduction of evaluation cost and the enhancement of decision quality. Additionally, the study indicated that lower evaluation costs and higher decision quality lead to increased platform loyalty. However, a reduction in screening cost did not have a significant impact on platform loyalty. Conclusion: While previous studies have overlooked the existence of two sides, service provider and user, in a platform, this research holds significance in its analysis of how information quality impacts loyalty by utilizing the two kinds of information quality. Practitioners can enhance customer loyalty to the platform by enriching customer-oriented information, thereby reducing customers' evaluation costs and encouraging more loyal usage of the platform.
Purpose - The online-to-offline (O2O) business model has brought considerable changes to the traditional Chinese business model. The main difference between O2O and pure online consumption is that O2O offers a richer experience and word-of-mouth. it is easier to trigger online word-of-mouth. However, few scholars have been concerned about the impact of experiential value on customer satisfaction and online word-of-mouth (e-WOM) in the study of O2O. This study takes the O2O business model in China's catering industry as its research object and uses structural equation modelling to analyze the impact of online and offline experiential values on customer satisfaction and e-WOM. Research design, data, and methodology - According to previous researches, consumer experiential value is mainly divided into return on investment (economy and efficiency), service excellence, playfulness and aesthetics. According to the characteristics of O2O in China's catering industry, this study divides the online experience value into efficiency and economy (return on investment). The offline part is divided into return on investment (economy and efficiency), service excellence, playfulness and aesthetics. Using a web-based survey, we collected 303 valid samples. Structural equation modelling was used to create the research model. Results - The results show that efficiency (online) and service excellence (offline) have a significant effect on customer satisfaction. Economics (online) and playfulness (offline) have a positive impact on customers' e-WOM. In addition, the higher the customer satisfaction, the greater the positive impact on the spread by word of mouth. However, aesthetic(offline) and return on investment(offline) have no significant impact to customer satisfaction and e-WOM. Conclusions - The study findings show that the key to boost customer satisfaction in the catering industry is to improve product quality and service. Although traditional competitive strategies such as online discount have been questioned by many scholars about their decreasing effectiveness, they are indispensable means to attract online traffic and trigger e-WOM. The traditional enterprises can reconstruct traditional business processes through the O2O model to effectively improve customer satisfaction and word of mouth by improving the experiential value of economy and efficiency. Additionally, it can be used as the natural advantages of online communication to induce customers to engage in word of mouth and attract more potential customers.
Sudden implementation of online classes in higher education due to Covid19 pandemic implies a lot of worries about academic performance declining. Thus, this paper analyzed a class(CalculusI) taught 100% online which was the same as the offline class before. This class tried to maintain the same quality as the offline one by utilizing various teaching strategies. The result shows the academic achievement level was similar or higher than that of offline class, and so was the students' perception and satisfaction degree. However, this was not just the outcome of online class, but it came from the professor's well-designed teaching plan and smooth operation of the class. It implicates successful teaching methodology is more important factor than such medium difference as online or offline. This study suggests the potential of online classes after the Covid19 pandemic, and expects further studies verify the result in a lot more curricula.
