  • The purpose of this project is to greatly elevate the image of a high-technology wireless communication company by improving its office space environment through remodeling techniques. In order to accomplish this goal, the design concept was established in the direction of harmonious beauty with maximized functionality and aesthetics. Specifically, an efficient traffic line was planned in consideration of the connectivity between mutual spaces, and smooth yet strong formal aesthetics was given to such things as planes, frontal surfaces, and ceiling design, so as to do away with the existing authoritarian atmosphere and create an image of a futuristic company.

  • The purpose of this paper is to provide a review of the background information regarding to the role of workplace on affecting people's performance. In today's industry creativity has a very special and important place because of the dynamic organizational changes and rapid growth of technology. To support these new working styles and specifically, to support creativity within an organization, flexible workplaces are often suggested. Since open-plan office offers more flexibility when compared to completely closed and private ones, they are seen to have more capabilities and are highly valued in today's industry. So the result of this study will contribute towards enhancing the understanding of the effect office design to enhance employees' performance, especially in creative tasks.

A Study of air Sterilization System in Personalized Office Using Simulation (시뮬레이션을 이용한 개별사무공간의 살균공조시스템 연구)

  • Recently H1N1(swine flu) and SARS has been infected widely in the world; we have to care about germs and virus in indoor air environment. The air sterilization system investigated in this study allows occupants to turn on/off and to control the incoming air speed and direction. To predict the performance of air sterilization system without real experiment, a simulation is considered to compare and analyze the performance of the air sterilization systems in a typical office space. Multiple system parameters including volume flow rate and velocity of supply air were varied and investigated during the simulation. The investigation result shows that difference (between simulation and experiment) was about 3.5% in case of minimum air flow rate and about 0.2% in case of maximum air flow rate. The results indicate that multi-zone simulation technique can be used to predict the performance of a sterilization system in personalized office.

Evaluation of Indoor Environmental Factors in Office Building with Underfloor Air-Conditioning (UFAC) System

  • During the last decade, an increasing interest in Underfloor Air-Conditioning (UFAC) systems has emerged. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the indoor environmental performance of office buildings with UFAC system in order to develope the design prototype of this system. The physical measurements and the Interviewing survey of occupant's sensation responses to the environment were carried out. Measurements and survey were made of the thermal environmental factors such as air temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, globe temperature, and the other several environmental factors such as the sound level and the illuminance of working plane, etc. And, the air quality was evaluated by measuring the concentration of suspended particles, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide in the room. Furthermore, the paper appraises the various indoor environmental factors of the room by using post-occupancy evaluation (POE) method in office building with UFAC system, and thus, it suggests the basic data for assessing the indoor comfort based on field measurements and survey .

  • The purpose of this research is providing the fundamental data for the effective workplace design, so that employees are not suffered from physical barrier. This research based on literature review. And then gain actual data by auditing buildings and data have been analyzed by percentage. The results and conclusions of research are the follow: In order to evaluate the law-abiding levels of office buildings, classifying the sources as the three levels. Just 44.2 percentage of building were marked on 'compliance' level. And also the 24% was 'not compliance' 31.8% was 'not accommodation'. The actual office building was out of the allowance of regulations so the regulations should be added both about new building and ready-built buildings.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the luminous environment of fluorescent lamp and LED lamp in a office space for various color temperature by subject response test. For this, three different color temperatures were tested for the same illuminance level. Based on such test results for various color temperatures of fluorescent lamp and white LEDs, this study is to analyze the preferences of color temperature and light source, and perceptional brightness of each light source and color temperature. Then, this study is to derive the guidelines for the performance of color temperature which are suitable on the purpose and the mood of a office space.

  • 본 논문은 지니 네트웍 프로토콜을 TCP/IP 기반에서 IEEE 1394로 확장하여 IEEE 1394와 TCP/IP를 동시에 지원하는 홈 네트웍에서의 지니 룩업 서비스 구조 및 방법에 관한 것으로, IEEE 1394 프로토콜 기반 서비스와 TCP 기반 서비스 사이의 상호 연동을 제공할 수 있는 구조를 제공하기 위해 기존의 지니 시스템의 룩업 서비스를 확장하여 홈 엔터테인먼트 네트웍을 쉽게 구성할 수 있도록 한다. 즉, 본 논문에서는 자바 기반 네트웍 미들웨어 구조에 IEEE 1394 네트웍과 TCP/IP 네트웍간 채널링을 수행하는 SLCH를 구현하여 IEEE 1394와 TCP/IP 프로토콜을 모두 지원 가능하도록 함으로써, TCP/IP와 IEEE 1394 사이의 정보 교환을 위해 큐 메카니즘을 사용하여 IEEE 1394 기기도 지니 네트웍에 손쉽게 연결되도록 함으로서, 서로 다른 종류의 네트웍을 지원하는 클라이언트나 서비스 제공자사이의 서비스 이용이 가능하게 되는 이점이 있다.

  • The trend toward ubiquitous computing does not represent simply a change in the way people access and use information. In the end it will have a profound effect on the way people work with each other. In this paper, we have defined functionalities of an information system that helps operate a kind of smart office environment, and implemented the system using RFID technology. The system provides three major functions-time and attendance management, personalized message notification, and flexible seat allocation for a smart working center. We have also suggested the key performance indicators and performed a KPI analysis to measure an efficiency of implemented system.

  • With developments of architectural and information technologies at the knowledge-information oriented society in the 21st century, there are the needs on intelligent buildings equipped with advanced systems to integrate both technologies. The intelligent building means a smart building which provides comfortable environments, realizes fast and speed information and telecommunication network services, and maximizes work productivities by adopting various systems suitable to uses, sizes, and functions of buildings. In order to meet these needs of the times, the domestic intelligent building certification system has been enforced in 2006. Recently, the intelligent building certification system was newly revised for revitalizing the spread of intelligent buildings. Thus, this paper investigates rating criteria and assessment standards of the new certification system focused on office building projects and suggests strategies for obtaining certifications by analyzing cases which were certified on the previous version of the system.
