  • The purpose of this study is to develop furniture design for work space of Office based on the research of furniture design and the survey on the design of the office furniture. The office furniture Is designed in order to use the space flexibly and for the user design in the work space. The furniture type of solo worker on characteristic kinds of works should have a simple shape and it should be safe and easy to move because it has a structural function. The furniture in office should be designed in consideration of moveing line while working. The development of furniture in office which suit human body should be made in consideration of human factors and the study on furniture design in office. As above mentioned, to research and study on the furniture design of working furniture in office which reduces fatigue resulted from labor for office, human factors aspect should be considered, furthermore psychological, mental approach to Ideal solution should be made.

  • Recently, the society is being, developed physically and technically and the desire for the better equipped office environment has been required. Due to the change of recognition about the information-oriented office and the rapid progress ot the office automation many conventional office environment are changing to the new phase, the intelligent building. Unfortunately, because of the lack of the harmony between our business operating characteristics and the western office space planning, there are some severe problems in improving the business ability. To create the efficent office environment design, we have to understand the function of the western office space and our current phenomenon, appearing in the company.   • One of the major changes in the information era is that the concept of workplace is changing, Therefore this research is to provide basic data for future home office design by surveying office workers's opinions about preferred design for home office. This research is based on a survey of 215 office workers in Seoul. The major findings are ; Office workers prefer an isolated type of workplace that is arranged by U-shped workstation at home. Office workers preferred ivory color of walls and ceiling in home office, Brown color for the floor and brown ivory beige green and grey colors are preferred for the furniture. For home office furniture office workers put to an importance on desk chair computer table cabinet filbox sofa mobil lack credenza, and tea table.

Verification of diaphragm seismic design factors for precast concrete office buildings

  • A new seismic design methodology has been developed for precast concrete diaphragms. Seismic design factors were used to be applied on top of diaphragm seismic design forces in the current code. These factors, established through extensive parametric studies, align diaphragm design strengths with different seismic performance targets. A simplified evaluation structure with a single-bay plan was used in the parametric studies. This simplified evaluation structure is reasonable and cost-effective as it can comprehensively cover structural geometries and design parameters. However, further verification and investigation are required to apply these design factors to prototype structures with realistic layouts. This paper presents diaphragm design of several precast concrete office buildings using the new design methodology. The applicability of the design factor to the office building was evaluated and verified through nonlinear time history analyses. The seismic behavior and performance of the diaphragm were investigated for the precast concrete office buildings. It was found that the design factor established for the new design methodology is applicable to the realistic precast concrete office buildings.

  • This research is to provide basic information for future development of an effective way for design office furniture. The purpose of this study is to provide foundation data that enable to design various office furniture. This article investigates what are the basic elements of office furniture and how various type of office furniture elements represent in many catalogues, articles. It was to understand what parts of office furniture elements influence when design the office furniture. Based on the research, conclusion was made as following: Through the 11 brands, it is found that rectangular-closed desk and tall closest is dominant in domestic brand whereas both open and closed desks are used in overseas brand and the closet design is changed based on the desk type.

  • This study is tended to analyze the characteristics of the emotional office environment so that digital technologies may adapt to the rapidly progressing social structure in a flexible way, investigate the interior composition of the changing office space and the element and direction of design and then present the indoor environment appropriate to it with the desirable alternative to the emotional office. The recognition of emotionality becomes so important that it is called 'emotional society'. Emotional design, which is mostly concern about user's consensus & experiences and in the space, is appeared on office. Emotional design is understanded from a interactive point of view, human and interior-space. The important factors of this study are light, color, immateriality and fun sensitivity The purpose of this study is to examine the emotional design by analysis of multifarious spaces. Office space Is designed emotional and experienced in the future.

User Evaluation of Common Spaces in Office Building - Focused on Universal Design - (오피스 건물의 공용공간 디자인에 대한 사용자 평가 - 유니버설 디자인을 중심으로 -)

  • The study was intended to evaluate common spaces of office building in view point of universal design. The common spaces were access road, main entrance, parking lot, corridor, and restroom. Two office buildings in Centum city of Busan were evaluated by their workers, each 100 ones. The check list for evaluating them consisted of 36 universal design elements which related to five common spaces. First, there were many universal design elements which need to be improved. Second, among five common spaces, restroom has the most elements to be rated low. First of all, at least one restroom for wheelchair should be provided each floor. Third, even though both of two office buildings were recently built, there were significant difference between their users' evaluations. This implies that the concept of universal design is not applied to office buildings well. Fourth, there were significant difference among users' evaluations according to age, especially in case of design related elements. This means that users' age is an important factor to be considered.

  • An office is understood as a system consisted of three subsystem : office work, technology and organization. In the age of information, an office is a complicated device in an organization to create, process, modify and deliver various information for organizational goals. The purpose of this study is to provide design guidelines on office workstations based on the analysis of employees' preference and work-style responding to current changes of an organization and work process. Through a literature survey, the study briefly reviewed characteristics of interior design to find changing factors and directions of office interior. Work characteristics in an office are analyzed based on information, activity and communication characteristics while office environment is analyzed based on physical and technological factors. Finally, questionnaire items are derived from a critical comparison between work characteristics and workstation organization(furniture etc) factor. workplace strategies by preference are suggested to increase office productivity, employee satisfaction and to reduce space costs.

Planning Organizations and Planning Process of To(道) and Pu(府) Government Office Buildings under the Rule of Japanese Imperialism (일제강점기 도청사.부청사의 설계주체와 설계과정)

  • Under the rule of Japanese Imperialism, there were two kinds of architectural government organizations inside the Chosun(朝鮮) Governor-General which designed To(道) and Pu(府) government office buildings; one was the organization inside the central government office and the other inside the local government offices(To and Pu). By the administrative approval procedure of the Chosun Governor-General, the local architectural organization planned site and floors of the building in the schematic design stage, and in the detail design stage not only the central but sometimes the local planned the building design. The design accomplished by the local in schematic stage was believed as a kind of guideline in detail design and the local organization was able to insist their own needs to the central and to change the central's planning. Even though the central had the authority of the design, the local took part in the planning of To and Pu government office buildings at least in the schematic design stage.
