The crayfish-shaped artificial bait for octopus drift line is manufactured, into which is made to insert ordinary bait. The effects of the artificial bait are confirmed through the analysis of octopus' behavior in the laboratory in comparison with the existing bait of pig-fat skin, and the investigation of the octopus catch on the sea, and in addition, the examination of the water quality in relation to the bait to be inserted into the artificial bait is done together. The artificial bait is red in color, 10.5cm in the length of the body, and 29g in weight. The octopus behavior in relation to the bait in the laboratory has shown a good result in which more than 30% of the octopuses rushed to the artificial bait. In the analysis of the octopus sitting time by the bait, the octopus stayed longer with the artificial bait(63.7%) than the pig-fat skin(25.1%). The octopus sitting time at the artificial bait inserted with frozen squid(48.8%, 44.6%) is shown to be longer than that of the pig-fat skin(36.9%) or boiled fish paste(21.2%). In the analysis of sitting frequency to the bait, the case of the artificial bait(total 17 times) was more than that of the pig-fat skin(total 3 times), and the case of the artificial bait with frozen squid attracted the octopuses more frequently than that of the pig-fat skin or the boiled fish paste. In the field experiment, the fishing boat A(Manseon-ho, 1.22tons) caught the total 93 octopuses, while the fishing boat B(Ilho-ho, 0.73tons) caught the total 154 octopuses, all of which weighed less than 9.0kg. In the comparison with the total catch, the case with the artificial bait was a little higher than that of the pig-fat skin($^{**}p\;<\;0.05$). In the analysis of the water quality in relation to the baits, the COD showed the descending order of frozen squid(0.57mg/g), boiled fish paste(0.18mg/g), and pig-fat skin(0.10mg/g), and the case with frozen squid was the highest and the case of the pig-fat skin, lowest. The total phosphorus, like the COD, showed the highest in frozen squid(0.02mg/g), and in case of the total nitrogen, unlike the COD, the pig-fat skin was shown to be the highest(0.006mg/g).
Modbus is a serial communications protocol, it has since become a practically standard communication protocol, and it is now a commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices. Therefore, it can be connected with all devices using Modbus protocol to the measurement and remote control on the ships, buildings, trains, airplanes and etc.. In this paper, we add the Modbus communication protocol to the existing lighting controller sensitivity to enable verification and remote control by external environmental factors, and also introduces a fuzzy inference system was configured by external environmental factors to control LED lighting. External environmental factors of temperature, humidity, illuminance value represented by the LED through a fuzzy control algorithm, the values accepted by the controller through the sensor. Modbus is using the RS485 Serial communication with other devices connected to the temperature, humidity, illumination and LED output status check is possible. In addition, the remote user is changed to enable it is possible to change the RGB values in the desired color change. Produced was confirmed that the LED controller output is based on the temperature, humidity and illumination.

The author carried out an experiment to find out the response of Black porgy, Acanthopagrus schlegelii [Bleeker] to the color lights. The experimental tank ($360L{\times}50W{\times}55H$cm) was set up in a dark room. Six longitudinal sections with 60cm intervals are marked in the tank to observe the location of the fish. Water depth in the tank was kept 50cm level. Light bulbs of 20 W at the both ends of the tank projected the light horizontally into the tank. Two different colored filters were selected from four colors of red, blue, yellow, and white, and they were placed in front of the light bulbs to make different colors of light. Light intensity was controlled by use of auxiliary filters intercepted between the bulb and the filter. The fishes were acclimatized in the dark for 50 minutes before they were employed in the experiment. Upon turning on the light, the number of fish in each section was counted 40 times in 30 second intervals, and the mean of the number of fish in each section was given as the gathering rate of the fish. The colors favourited by the fish was found in order of blue, yellow, white and red in the day-time and blue, red, yellow and white at night. The difference of the average distribution on two different colors of light was 7.18%(0.35-19.55%), and the difference in the daytime(8.20%) was larger than at night (6.15%). The gathering rate of fish on illumination period didn't show the regular trend of increase and decrease, and was fluctuated with instability. The difference of the gathering rate on two different colors of light wasn't distinct, and the difference in the daytime was larger than at night.
In advance of launch, simulated radiances of the Ocean Scanning Multispectral Imager (OSMI) will be very useful to guess the real imagery of OSMI and to prepare for data processing of OSMI. The data processing system for OSMI which is one of sensors aboard Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite (KOMPSAT) scheduled for launch in 1999 is developed based on the SeaWiFS Data Analysis System (SeaDAS). Simulation of radiances requires information on the spectral band, orbital and scanning characteristics of the OSMI and KOMPSAT spacecraft. This paper also describes a method to create simulated radiances of the OSMI over the oceans. Our method for constructing a simulated OSMI imagery is to propagate a KOMPSAT orbit over a field of Coastal Zone Color Scanner (CZCS) pigment concentrations and to use the values and atmospheric components for calculation of total radiances. A modified Brouwer-Lyddane model with drag was used for the realistic orbit prediction, the CZCS pigment concentrations were used to compute water-leaving radiances, and a variety of radiative transfer models were used to calculate atmospheric contributions to total radiances detected by OSMI. Imagery of the simulated OSMI radiances for 412, 443, 490, 555, 765, 865nm was obtained. As expected, water-leaving radiances were only a small fraction (below 10%) of total radiances and sun glint contaminations were observed near the solar declination. Therefore, atmospheric correction is critical in the calculation of pigment concentration from total radiances. Because the imagery near the sun's glitter pattern is virtually useless and must be discarded, more advanced data collection planning will be required to succeed in the mission of OSMI which is consistent monitoring of global oceans during three year mission lifetime.
On 19 February 2020, the 2nd Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI-II), a maritime sensor of GEO-KOMPSAT-2B, was launched. The GOCI-II instrument expands the scope of aerosol retrieval research with its improved performance compared to the former instrument (GOCI). In particular, the newly included UV band at 380 nm plays a significant role in improving the sensitivity of GOCI-II observations to the absorbing aerosols. In this study, we calculated the aerosol index and detected absorbing aerosols from January to June 2021 using GOCI-II 380 and 412 nm channels. Compared to the TROPOMI aerosol index, the GOCI-II aerosol index showed a positive bias, but the dust pixels still could be clearly distinguished from the cloud and clear pixels. The high GOCI-II aerosol index coincided with ground-based observations indicating dust aerosols were detected. We found that 70.5% of dust and 80% of moderately-absorbing fine aerosols detected from the ground had GOCI-II aerosol indices larger than the 75th percentile through the whole study period.

Rapid and accurate identification of marine microalgae causing harmful algal blooms (HABs) is a crucial tool for predicting and managing HABs. We previously developed a nuclease protection assay sandwich hybridization (NPA-SH) method for the in situ detection of blooming microalgae Cochlodinium polykrikoides. In this study, we improved the applicability of the NPA-SH method for the detection of C. polykrikoides by simplifying the reaction step. For this purpose, invertase (INV) was conjugated to the signal probe instead of using fluorescence, and sucrose was used as a reactant to induce a color reaction. The INV-signal probe conjugation was confirmed by SDS-PAGE and epifluoromicroscopy. The treatment time and appropriate amounts of the probe and sucrose that optimized the reaction were determined. As a result, the developed INV-SH reduced the treatment time in the field compared with NPA-SH, and also enabled the use of a relatively small volume and low-priced personal glucose meter, as well as an absorbance meter. INV-SH is the first C. polykrikoides species identification technology to which INV has been applied and could be an improved field technique.
The effect of starches such as potato, corn and wheat starch on the rheological properties of ocean jumbo squid kamaboko was investigated. Changes in the water holding capacity and color values of those kamaboko gels was also studied using the maximum gel strength endowing starch, Wheat starch could ive the better water holding capacity and breaking stress than potato or corn starch within $10{\%}$ additional level but corn starch resulted the highest those value at $20{\%}$ added. Wheat starch had higher level of breaking strain and jelly strength at $10{\%}$ then in descending order were corn starch, potato starch. But those starches were decreased after $15{\%}$ level. Texture map showed the simple rheological properties of each starches heat gel with jumbo squid kamaboko, Corn starch map showed more tough and brittle than the other. Potato starch map showed more elastic gel than corn starch. Wheat starch map could make elastic-mushy gel. There was no significant color differences of each starches but the whiteness of each starch showed increase when the starch rate was increased.

Genomic DNAs(gDNAs) were isolated from the venus clam(Gomphina aequilatera) from Samcheok(venus clam from Samcheok; VCS) and Wonsan(venus clam from Wonsan; VCW) located in the East Sea of the Korean Peninsula. The amplified products were generated by agarose gel electrophoresis(AGE) with oligonucleotides primer, detected by staining with ethidium bromide and viewed by ultraviolet ray. The seven arbitrarily selected primers BION-21, BION-23, BION-25, BION-27, BION-29, BION-31 and BION-33 generated the shared loci, polymorphic, and specific loci, with the molecular sizes ranging from 150 bp to 2,400 bp. In this study, 147 polymorphic loci(147/954 loci, 15.41%) in VCS population and 274(274/996 loci, 27.51%) in VCW population were generated with seven primers. These results suggest the genetic variation in VCW population is higher than in VCS population. Especially, the 700 bp bands generated by the primer BION-21 were identified commonly in two Gomphina populations, which identified populations and/or species. This specific primer was found to be useful in the identification of individuals and/or population, resulting from the different DNA polymorphism among individuals/species/population. Two Gomphina populations between the individual SAMCHEOK no. 03 and WONSAN no. 22 showed the longest genetic distance(0.696) in comparison with other individuals used. The complete linkage cluster analysis indicating three genetic groupings and dendrogram revealed close relationships among individual identities within two geographical populations of venus clam(G. aequilatera) from the Samcheok and Wonsan. The intra-species classification and clustering analyses inferred from molecular markers supported the traditional taxonomy of the species based on morphological characters such as shell size, shape and color. Accordingly, as mentioned above, RAPD analysis showed that VCS population was more or less separated from VCW population.
In the Arctic Ocean, the distribution of sea ice and ice sheets changes as climate changes. Because the distribution of ice cover influences the mineral composition of marine sediments, studying marine sediments transported by sea ice or iceberg is very important to understand the global climate change. This study analyzes marine sediment samples collected from the Arctic Ocean and infers the provenance of the sediments to reconstruct the paleoenvironment changes of the western Arctic. The analyzed samples include four gravity cores collected from the Araon mound in the Chukchi Plateau and one gravity core collected from the slope between the Araon mounds. The core sediments were brown, gray, and greenish gray, each of which corresponds to the characteristic color of sediments deposited during the interglacial/glacial cycle in the western Arctic Ocean. We divide the core sediments into three units based on the analysis of bulk mineral composition, clay mineral composition, and Ice Rafted Debris (IRD) as well as comparison with previous study results. Unit 3 sediments, deposited during the last glacial maximum, were transported by sea ice and currents after the sediments of the Kolyma and Indigirka Rivers were deposited on the continental shelf of the East Siberian Sea. Unit 2 sediments, deposited during the deglacial period, were from the Kolyma and Indigirka Rivers flowing into the East Siberian Sea as well as from the Mackenzie River and the Canadian Archipelago flowing into the Beaufort Sea. Unit 2 sediments also contained an extensive amount of IRD, which originated from the melted Laurentide Ice Sheet. During the interglacial stage, fine-grained sediments of Unit 1 were transported by sea ice and currents from Northern Canada and the East Siberian Sea, but coarse-grained sediments were derived by sea ice from the Canadian Archipelago.
COMS accommodates multiple payloads; Meteorological Image(MI), Ocean Color Imager(GOCI) and Ka-band communication payloads. In order to improve the quality of MI visible channel, the moon image has been taken into account as backup reference in addition to Albedo monitoring. However, obtaining the moon image by adding special mission schedule is not recommended after IOT, because we may miss chances to obtain meteorological images during the time slots for special imaging. As an alternative solution, an approach extracting moon image from MI FD(Full Disk) image has been proposed when the moon is positioned near to the earth. However, prediction of acquisition time of moon image is somewhat difficult as the moon moves while the MI is scanning type sensor. And the moon can not be seen when it is behind the earth or outside of FD field of view. This paper discusses how effectively the moon can be detected by the MI FD imaging. For that purpose, this paper describes an approach taken to predict the time when the moon image is achievable and then introduces the results obtained from computer simulation.
