  • This paper presents a novel approach to real-time recognition of 3D environment and objects for intelligent robots. First. we establish the three fundamental principles that humans use for recognizing and interacting with the environment. These principles have led to the development of an integrated approach to real-time 3D recognition and modeling, as follows: 1) It starts with a rapid but approximate characterization of the geometric configuration of workspace by identifying global plane features. 2) It quickly recognizes known objects in environment and replaces them by their models in database based on 3D registration. 3) It models the geometric details on the fly adaptively to the need of the given task based on a multi-resolution octree representation. SIFT features with their 3D position data, referred to here as stereo-sis SIFT, are used extensively, together with point clouds, for fast extraction of global plane features, for fast recognition of objects, for fast registration of scenes, as well as for overcoming incomplete and noisy nature of point clouds. The experimental results show the feasibility of real-time and behavior-oriented 3D modeling of workspace for robotic manipulative tasks.

  • Since the features in object-images such as color and shape cannot clearly express the characteristic of objects, those features lead to vagueness of object-image recognition. Recently there have been studied on object-image recognition based on knowledge base in order to reduce the vagueness. However, because images are represented by numerical information but knowledge bases are represented by conceptual information, combining two kinds of information is difficult. In this paper, we compose knowledge base by using ontology to reduce the gap between the two kinds of information, and propose a method for object-image recognition to reduce the vagueness by using information on inner-object. Moreover, we confirm the usefulness of the proposed method through the experiments on object-image recognition in fruit domain.

  • Using optical music recognition technology based on deep learning, we propose to apply the results derived to VR games. To detect the music objects in the music sheet, the deep learning model used YOLO v5, and Hough transform was employed to detect undetected objects, modifying the size of the staff. It analyzes and uses BPM, maximum number of combos, and musical notes in VR games using output result files, and prevents the backlog of notes through Object Pooling technology for resource management. In this paper, VR games can be produced with music elements derived from optical music recognition technology to expand the utilization of optical music recognition along with providing VR contents.

  • We propose a moving object extraction and tracking method for improvement of animal identification and tracking technology. First, we propose a method of merging separated moving objects into a moving object by using FCM (Fuzzy C-Means) clustering algorithm to solve the problem of moving object loss caused by moving object extraction process. In addition, we propose a method of extracting data from a moving object and a method of counting moving objects to determine the number of clusters in order to satisfy the conditions for performing FCM clustering algorithm. Then, we propose a method to continuously track merged moving objects. In the proposed method, color histograms are extracted from feature information of each moving object, and the histograms are continuously accumulated so as not to react sensitively to noise or changes, and the average is obtained and stored. Thereafter, when a plurality of moving objects are overlapped and separated, the stored color histogram is compared with each other to correctly recognize each moving object. Finally, we demonstrate the feasibility and applicability of the proposed algorithms through some experiments.

  • 1. Objectives This paper was tried to find out Dong-Mu's recognition systemfor Sasang Structure about "Dongyi Suse Bowon" and "Gyukchigo" 2. Methods The study was researched through comparative studying in a structural manner between "Gyukchigo" 's Affairs-Mind-Body-Objects(事心身物) and "Dongyi Suse Bowon" 's Heaven-Human-Nature-Order(天人性命). 3. Results and Conculusions "Gyukchigo" 's Affairs-Mind-Body-Objects(事心身物) should be understood as Dong-Mu's change process of thinking scheme before writing the book of "Dongyi Suse Bowon" and it is somewhat difficult to make a connected attachment in a lump between "Dongyi Suse Bowon" 's Heaven-Human-Nature-Order(天人性命) and "Gyukchigo" 's Affairs-Mind-Body-Objects(事心身物). Just "Dongyi Suse Bowon" 's Heaven-Human-Nature-Order(天人性命) can be understood as a new recognition systemto encompass" Gyukchigo" 's Affairs-Mind-Body-Objects(事心身物).

  • The need for recognition of partially occluded objects is increasing in the area of computer vision applications. Occlusion causes significant problems in identifying and locating an object. In this paper, an annealed Hopfield network (AHN) is proposed for detecting threat objects in passengers' check-in baggage. AHN is a deterministic approximation that is based on the hybrid Hopfield network (HHN) and annealing theory. AHN uses boundary features composed of boundary points and corner points which are extracted from input images of threat objects. The critical temperature also is examined to reduce the run time of AHN. Extensive computational experiments have been conducted to compare the performance of the AHNwith that of the HHN.

  • This paper proposes an efficient and accurate vision based recognition and tracking framework for texture free objects. We approached this problem with a two phased algorithm: detection phase and tracking phase. In the detection phase, the algorithm extracts shape context descriptors that used for classifying objects into predetermined interesting targets. Later on, the matching result is further refined by a minimization technique. In the tracking phase, we resorted to meanshift tracking algorithm based on Bhattacharyya coefficient measurement. In summary, the contributions of our methods for the underwater robot vision are four folds: 1) Our method can deal with camera motion and scale changes of objects in underwater environment; 2) It is inexpensive vision based recognition algorithm; 3) The advantage of shape based method compared to a distinct feature point based method (SIFT) in the underwater environment with possible turbidity variation; 4) We made a quantitative comparison of our method with a few other well-known methods. The result is quite promising for the map based underwater SLAM task which is the goal of our research.

  • In this paper, we propose factors that make log analysis difficult and design technique for detecting various objects embedded in the logs which helps in the subsequent analysis. In today's IT systems, logs have become a critical source data for many advanced AI analysis techniques. Although logs contain wealth of useful information, it is difficult to directly apply techniques since logs are semi-structured by nature. The factors that interfere with log analysis are various objects such as file path, identifiers, JSON documents, etc. We have designed a BERT-based object pattern recognition algorithm for these objects and performed object identification. Object pattern recognition algorithms are based on object definition, GROK pattern, and regular expression. We find that simple pattern matchings based on known patterns and regular expressions are ineffective. The results show significantly better accuracy than using only the patterns and regular expressions. In addition, in the case of the BERT model, the accuracy of classifying objects reached as high as 99%.

  • Document image binarization is largely used as previous stage of document recognition. And the result of document recognition is much affected from the result of document image binarization. There were many studies to binarize document images. The results of previous studies for document image binarization is varied according to the state of document images. In this paper, we propose a technique for document image binarization using MSER that is applied to extract objects from an image. At first, raw MSER objects are extracted from a document image. Because the raw MSER objects cannot be used for document image binarization, the extracted raw MSER objects are modified. Then the final MSER objects are used for document image binarization with the contrast image that is extracted from the document image. Experimental results show that the proposed technique is useful for document image binarization.
