Optimal path planning for the capturing of a moving object

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for planning an optimal path to capture a moving object by a mobile robot in real-time. The direction and rotational angular velocity of the moving object are estimated using the Kalman filter, a state estimator. It is demonstrated that the moving object is tracked by using a 2-DOF active camera mounted on the mobile robot and then captured by a mobile manipulator. The optimal path to capture the moving object is dependent on the initial conditions of the mobile robot, and the real-time planning of the robot trajectory is definitely required for the successful capturing of the moving object. Therefore the algorithm that determines the optimal path to capture a moving object depending on the initial conditions of the mobile robot and the conditions of a moving object is proposed in this paper. For real-time implementation, the optimal representative blocks have been utilized for the experiments to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for planning an optimal path to capture a moving object by a mobile robot in real-time.   • The effort identifying positioning information of the moving object in real time has been a issue not only in sport biomechanics but also other academic areas. In order to solve this issue, this study tried to track the movement of a pitched ball that might provide an easier prediction because of a clear focus and simple movement of the object. Machine learning has been leading the research of extracting information from continuous images such as object tracking. Though the rule-based methods in artificial intelligence prevailed for decades, it has evolved into the methods of statistical approach that finds the maximum a posterior location in the image. The development of machine learning, accompanied by the development of recording technology and computational power of computer, made it possible to extract the trajectory of pitched baseball from recorded images. We present a method of baseball tracking, based on object tracking methods in machine learning. We introduce three state-of-the-art researches regarding the object tracking and show how we can combine these researches to yield a novel engine that finds trajectory from continuous pitching images. The first research is about mean shift method which finds the mode of a supposed continuous distribution from a set of data. The second research is about the research that explains how we can find the mode and object region effectively when we are given the previous image's location of object and the region. The third is about the research of representing data into features that we can deal with. From those features, we can establish a distribution to generate a set of data for mean shift. In this paper, we combine three works to track baseball's location in the continuous image frames. From the information of locations from two sets of images, we can reconstruct the real 3-D trajectory of pitched ball. We show how this works in real pitching images.

  • This paper proposes trajectory tracking of the moving object based on one camera vision system. And, this system proposes a method which robot manipulator grips moving object and predicts coordinate of moving objcet. The trajectory tracking and position coordinate are computed by vision data acquired to camera. Robot manipulator tracks and grips moving object by vision data. The proposed vision systems use a algorithm to do real-time processing.

  • In this study, efficient force reflection algorithm is developed for the Haptic Display by using a proxy concept and friction model. When there are not any contacted obstacles the proxy is following human operator's command trajectory in the 3D virtual space. But when the operator's command trajectory is locating inside of the object, the proxy is constrained by the surface of the object. Here only with the information of the proxy position and operator's command trajectory at every time step, we can calculate the reflection force and its orientation. To display the friction force between two virtual stiff material which are sliding against each other, modified Karnopp's friction model is used. In the friction model, a damping term and a Stribeck effect term are included to display the relative velocity effect and stick-slip effect at the very low relative velocity region respectively.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm to find an optimal trajectory for unspecified paths of the tips of two arms of a dual arm robot. The effective handling a specified object of a dual arm robot closely depends on the effective collision avoidance between parts of robot and the object. For time optimal trajectory without collision, a graphical method is applied for a robot with two degree of freedom. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by some simulation results.

  • 위치 기반 서비스(Location-Based Service)는 무선 통신에 기반 한 서비스로서 최근 그 중요성이 증대되고 있다. 차량, 선박과 같이 시간에 따라 위치를 변경하는 이동 객체(moving object)의 이동 경로는 궤적(trajectory)으로 표현된다. 이동 객체의 궤적 모니터링을 위한 데이터베이스에서는 이동객체의 위치를 추적할 뿐만 아니라 이동 경로를 감시하기 위한 궤적 질의를 효율적으로 지원해야 하므로 이동 객체의 궤적 정보를 효과적으로 관리하고, 빠른 검색을 제공하는 이동 객체 색인 방법이 필요하다. 이 논문에서는 먼저 기존 궤적 색인 구조에서 사장 영역 문제를 정의한다. 궤적 색인의 사장 영역은 궤적 보존 속성으로 인해 공간적 지역성을 고려되지 않기 때문에 발생한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 이 논문에서는 사장 영역 및 비단말 노드간의 중첩을 줄이기 위해 엔트리 재배치 기법을 제시하고, 제안된 색인과 기존 알고리즘을 사용하는 색인과의 성능비교를 통하여 제시한 색인의 우수성을 입증한다.

  • 비디오 데이터에는 시간의 변화에 따라 공간적인 위치가 변화하는 움직임 객체를 포함하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 비디오 데이터의 움직임 객체에 대한 새로운 모델링 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 모델링은 움직임 객체를 효과적으로 검색하기 위해 시간의 변화에 따라 공간적인 위치와 크기 변화를 표현한다. 또한 객체의 시간에 따른 시각적 특징 변화와 객체의 방향, 거리 그리고 속도를 고려한 궤적을 표현한다. 따라서 움직임 객체의 시각적인 특징 유사도 검색, 거리 유사도 검색, 제적 유사도 검색을 수행할 수 있다. 또한 이들을 통합한 가중치 검색이 가능하도록 한다.

  • In this paper, we propose a method of tracking and capturing a moving object by a mobile robot. The position of the moving object is acquired from the relation through color-based image information from a 2-DOF active camera mounted on the mobile robot. The direction and rotational angular velocity of the moving object are estimated using a state estimator. A Kalman fiber is used as the state estimator for taking characteristics of robustness against noises and uncertainties included in the input data. After estimating the trajectory of the moving object, we decide on the optimal trajectory and plan the motion of the mobile robot to capture the target object within the shortest distance and time. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by the simulations and experiments.

  • The article considers the possibilities of increasing the accuracy of estimates of the parameters of the trajectory of the target with the provision of a given probability of stable support of the air object, in particular, during its maneuver. The aim of the work is to develop a filtration algorithm that provides a given probability of stable tracking of the air object by determining the regular components of filtration errors, in particular, when maneuvering the air object, and their compensation with appropriate correction of filter parameters and estimates of air object trajectory parameters.
