In order to determine the moisture content level for safe storage of wild vegetables, drying characteristics and water vapor sorption characteristics of four vegetables, i.e., zucchini slice, sweet potato stem, taro stem, and platycodon, were investigated. The drying curves of these vegetables were consisted of three characteristic stages which were the initial settling down period, the constant drying rate period, and the falling drying rate period. And the falling rate period of the vegetables showed 2 or 3 parts of falling rate. All of the falling rate curves of the vegetables showed upwardly convex shape which is known as a characteristic pattern for the drying of fibrous food materials. The critical moisture contents of the vegetables were $8.29{\sim}9.75,\;10.40{\sim}15.08,\;9.51{\sim}14.52\;and\;3.29{\sim}3.56g\;H_2O/g$ dry solids for zucchini slice, sweet potato stem, taro stem, and platycodon, respectively. Activation energy values of drying rate during falling rate period were 2.30, 2.11, 4.97, and 2.80 kcal/mol for zucchini slice, sweet potato stem, taro stem, and platycodon respectively. The BET monolayer moisture contents of the vegetables were $10.05{\sim}13.59,\;9.49{\sim}12.69,\;9.50{\sim}16.48\;and\;5.01{\sim}5.44g\;H_2O/g$ dry solids for zucchini slice, sweet potato stem, taro stem, and platycodon, respectively. And these values were found to be very compatible with the values of the critical moisture content. Consequently, it was found that the moisture of these vegetables should be removed below the BET monolayer moisture content or below the critical moisture content for the long term storage.

AThe studies on ceramic preservation have been conducted widely in various institutions such as national/ public museums and research labs as well as the excavation institutions and university museums. Although there are some differences in preservation methodologies and materials used across the institutions, the variation is minimal. Specifically, epoxy resin is mostly used for ceramic restoration for its high cohesiveness, low contraction and high strength although there are some variations in for Ceramic Preservation. The synthetic resin type used according to the type of damage in the ceramic. However, the yellowing or the change of color across the time after the restoration is the weakness of epoxy resin. In this study, we aim to develop a material which minimizes this yellowing of epoxy resin while enhancing its cohesiveness and strength as well as other physical properties. We made the new material to have similar properties with those used widely for the ceramic restoration, such as EPO-TEK301$^{(R)}$, L30$^{(R)}$, XTR-311$^{(R)}$ through comparative experiments. The cohesiveness of the newly developed resin was improved to 2.51(MPa), which is similar level of XTR-311$^{(R)}$ of the 2.30(MPa) but about 2x higher than the other resins EPO-TEK301$^{(R)}$, L30$^{(R)}$ (1.21 and 1.81 (MPa), respectively). Especially, the experiment on yellowing shows that the existing resins show the range of color change at 10~25(${\Delta}E^*ab$), but the new low yellowing epoxy resin has the color change value at 8.3 (${\Delta}E^*ab$), the value lowering the yellowing effect to 1 to 3 times of the existing epoxy resin, thereby solving the issue of generating sense of differences due to change of color or yellowing.
The purpose of this study is to enhance utilization of the waste nutrient solution (WNS) disposed at the hydroponic greenhouse. Several sets of testing were conducted to examine the effects of WNS: (a) a fertilizer effect, (b) soil column leaching, and (c) crop cultivation. The fertilizer effect test was applied in young radish cultivation by examining the growth characteristics of young radish and soil based on inorganic nitrogen according to the soil treatment of the nitrogen fertilizer (NF) and the WNS. The fertilizer effects and crop cultivation test were conducted with five treatments (A-E): A, non-treatment (water); B, 100% of NF; C, 70% of NF + 30% of WNS; D, 50% of NF + 50% of WNS; and E, 30% of NF + 70% of WNS. The soil column leaching test was conducted with three treatments: non-treatment (water), 100% of NF, 50% of WNS + 50% of NF. As a result, the chemical properties of the WNS were pH 6.0, EC 2.4dS·m-1, total phosphorus (T-P) 28mg·L-1, ammonium nitrogen (NH4-N) 5.0mg·L-1, and nitrate nitrogen (NO3-N) 301mg·L-1. The chemical properties of the soil were pH 5.51, EC 0.31dS/m, organic matter 2.08g·kg-1, NO3-N 9.64mg·kg-1, and NH4-N 3.20mg·kg-1. The results of fertilizer effects showed that the ratio of 50% or less of NF and 50% or more of WNS was high in young radish growth. There was no statistically significant difference between the soil chemistry in the C-E treatments where WNS was mixed with NF and the B treatment where only NF was applied. As a result of the soil column leaching test, there was no significant difference in the concentrations of NO3 and NH4 in the treatment of 100% of NF and 50% of NF + 50% of WNS. The study indicates, if the mixed fertilizer of WNS and NF is applied in the soil cultivation of young radish, it will reduce the use of NF and environmental pollution. This also helps reduce production costs on farmers and increase the yield of young radish.

Purpose: This study examined the association between the antioxidant vitamin intake and obesity in Korean women. Methods: Adult women aged ${\geq}19years$ who completed a health examination and nutrition survey from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey between 2007 ~ 2016 were selected for the study (n = 30,425). A BMI ${\geq}25kg/m^2$ and waist circumference ${\geq}85cm$ were defined as obesity and abdominal obesity, respectively. The individual antioxidant vitamin intake was estimated by linking the antioxidant vitamin composition database of commonly consumed foods and the subjects' 24-hour recall food consumption data. Carotenoids, retinol, vitamin A (retinol activity equivalent), vitamin C, tocopherols, and vitamin E (${\alpha}$-tocopherol equivalent) were included in the analysis. Each vitamin intake was converted to the nutrient density per 1,000 kcal. Odds ratio (ORs) and 95% confidence interval (CI) for obesity according to each tertile of the nutrient density was obtained from multiple logistic regression adjusted for age, household income, education level, smoking, alcohol consumption, and physical activity. Results: The mean intake of ${\alpha}$-carotene, retinol, vitamin E, ${\alpha}$-tocopherol, and ${\gamma}$-tocopherol per 1,000 kcal was significantly lower in the obese group than in the normal group. A higher intake of lycopene was inversely associated with obesity (highest vs. lowest; OR = 0.89, 95% CI: 0.83-0.96) and abdominal obesity (highest vs. lowest; OR = 0.88, 95% CI: 0.81-0.95). Higher intakes of ${\alpha}$-carotene, total carotenoids, vitamin A, and ${\gamma}$-tocopherol also had a negative relationship with abdominal obesity. The antioxidant vitamin intakes from eggs, milk and dairy products, seasoning, and grains were significantly lower in the obese group than in the normal group. Conclusion: This study showed that the dietary intake of antioxidant vitamins was inversely associated with obesity and abdominal obesity among Korean women. Further study will be needed to examine the causal relationship between the antioxidant vitamin and obesity.
I got the following conclusion that analyzes the dental health recognition, attitude and the action of the students who major in health section executing questionnaire about dental health behaviors from March 3 through 26 with health-related university students in some area in order to arrange the fundamental data that manage their mouth health rationally by using the investigation and comparison by sex and department in dental health teaching. The results obtained were as follows : 1. A large number of students recognized dental health as an important problem, but they believed that the level of their knowledges on dental health was not so high and female students were more negative than male students with regards to their own dental health condition. 2. 49.8% of the students know about tap water fluoridation program control business and 60.7% agreed and boy's approval rate was higher than girl's. But 42.2% of the not-related buccal department's students have a reservation about tap water fluoridation program control business. 3. Average brushing number of the boy is 51.0% 2 times a day according to sex, A girl appeared highest by 48.3% 3 times a day and there was statistically significantly different according to (pE0.01). there wasn't statistically significantly different according to department. Also, the period of the brushing was the most right after a breakfast, in the order of before sleep and after dinner. 4. Whether they go to the dentist's or not, 90.8% of them say 'yes', the result showed statistically significant difference according to sex (pE0.01), but It didn't show statistically significant difference according to department. Also, the purpose for visiting the dentist's office lately was the most caries treatment. and there was statistically significantly different according to sex (pE0.01), but there was not statistically significantly different according to department. 5. Oral health education-related subject approval's rate when the education course open is 65.0% there was statistically significantly different according to department (pE0.01). Also when oral health education-related subject as the liberal arts open' the rate of taking a course application showed 50.2% high appear. there was statistically significantly different according to department(pE0.01).
With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity becoming more common in today's handheld mobile devices, single-chip multi-radio combo-modules, which integrate two or more heterogeneous wireless radios on a single chip, are becoming more and more popular. The key requirement for combo solutions is that the quality of the user experience (QoE) must not be compromised by degrading connectivity performance. Therefore, characterizing and understanding the behaviour of combo-module is of vital importance to ensure this requirement in various environments. In this paper, we investigate the impact of the use of combo-modules on the performance of mobile video streaming over a Wi-Fi network. Our study reveals that the use of combo-modules incurs considerable side effects on QoE for mobile video streaming applications when the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operate at the same time in the 2.4GHz ISM band. We reveal that rate-based adaptive algorithms, including the most popular adaptive bitrate streaming MPEG-DASH, is more severely affected by this phenomenon than buffer-based adaptive algorithms.
This study was conducted to investigate the antimicrobial resistance, presence of ${\beta}$-lactamase genes and integrons in 83 ESBL-producing Escherichia coli isolated from Nakdong river and Geumho river in Daegu. Among the ${\beta}$-lactam antimicrobials, all isolates were resistant to ampicillin, cephalothin, cefamandole and cefotaxime, followed by piperacillin (98.8%), ampicillin/sulbactam (86.7%), aztreonam (60.2%) and cefepime (59.0%), whereas resistance to piperacillin/tazobacram, ticarcillin/clavulanic acid and cefoxitin was less than 30%. Many of the ESBL-producing Escherichia coli were also resistant to non-${\beta}$-lactams antimicrobials such as nalidixic acid (83.1%), sulfonamides (72.3%), ciprofloxacin (62.7%) and gentamicin (38.6%). All isolates showed resistance to seven or more antimicrobial agents. The most frequently detected gene was $bla_{TEM+CTX-M}$ (49.4%), followed by $bla_{CTX-M}$ (27.7%), $bla_{TEM}$ (6.0%) and $bla_{OXA}$ (1.2%). But $bla_{SHV}$ was not found. Class 1 integrons were found in 61.4% (51 isolates) of isolates, however, class 2 and 3 integrons were not detected. The results showed water from Nakdong river and Geumho river is contaminated with ESBL-producing E. coli isolates. These results suggest the need for further investigation of antibiotic resistant bacteria to prevent public health impacts in the water environment.

Purpose : Although Mycoplasma pneumoniae (M. pneumoniae) infection can cause wheezing in non-asthmatic children, the mechanisms of this symptom remain unclear. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a major mediator of angiogenesis and vascular permeability, and is also known to be elevated in cases of chronic pulmonary disease such as asthma. We hypothesized that VEGF may increase in children with acute M. pneumoniae pneumonia and wheezing. Methods : Nine patients with clinical and laboratory evidence of acute M. pneumoniae pneumonia were enlisted from children admitted to Korea University Hospital. They had had more than one episode of wheezing during the illness, which was confirmed by a physician; they comprised the wheezer group. The individuals with M. pneumoniae pneumonia without wheezing were 63 in number, and they comprised the non-wheezer group. Patients with a history of asthma or who had received asthma medications were excluded. Serum concentrations of VEGF, total IgE, eosinophil cationic protein (ECP), and peripheral blood eosinophil counts were measured. Results : The serum VEGF concentrations were higher in the wheezer group ($mean{\pm}SD$; $650.2{\pm}417.9pg/mL$) than in the non-wheezer group ($376.5{\pm}356.2pg/mL$, P=0.049). M. pneumoniae antibody (1:1,380 vs. 1:596, P=0.048) and serum total IgE (591.8 IU/mL vs. 162.2 IU/mL, P=0.032) were higher in the wheezer group than in the non-wheezer group. There were no differences between the two groups in terms of serum ECP concentration or blood eosinophil count. Conclusion : In the presence of wheezing, serum VEGF concentrations were higher in the children with M. pneumoniae pneumonia. This finding suggests that VEGF may associate with wheeze-related symptoms in children with acute M. pneumoniae pneumonia.

Terrace stratigraphy of the southeastern coastal areas of Korea is reappraised on the basis of terrace mapping and geochronology. Coastal terraces are divided into uHT ($90{\sim}130\;m$), HT ($63{\sim}86m$), MT ($36{\sim}55\;m$), and LT ($8{\sim}25\;m$) according to altitude. Among these, the Lower Terrace I is interpreted to have formed during MIS 5e based on Tephras Aso-4 (MIS 5c), Ata(MIS 5d or 5e) and OSL data. The age of Lower Terrace II is thought to be MIS 5a based on tephras and OSL data. The uplift rate in the SE part of Korea during the formation of the Lower Terrace (i.e. the MIS 5) ranges from 0.08 to 0.25 mm/yr and averages as 0.15 mm/yr. Such value is quite small in comparison to that of Japan, Taiwan or many other tectonically active areas in the world.

This study was performed to examine the effects of electron beam irradiation on volatile flavor components of Shingo pear (Pyrus pyrifolia cv. Niitaka) and on their changes according to storing period following irradiation. Volatile flavor components in pear were extracted using simultaneous steam distillation and extraction (SDE) apparatus and analyzed by GC/MS. 46 components were identified in control whereas 45, 44, 48 and 51 components were identified in irradiated samples by electron beam at 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 3 kGy, respectively. Hexanal, n-hexanol, and (E)-2-hexenal were identified as the major volatile flavor components of all samples. The characteristic volatile flavor components of irradiated pear by electron beam were similar to those of control, and their effects depending on irradiation source were not different. In addition, there was no noticeable change in volatile flavor components of pear with storage at $4^{\circ}C$ for 30 days or with irradiation. Sensory evaluation indicated that the consumer receptiveness tended to be higher at a low level of radiation dose under 1 kGy than control, albeit not significant. Therefore, electron beam irradiation at low level of radiation dose under 1 kGy could be considered as an effective method to exterminate vermin and thus to improve the shelf-stability of pear without deterioration.
