The subjects were 60 children, ranging in age from 69 to 72 months. All subjects were randomly assigned to one of three experimental groups: the control group with no treatment, the puppetry group, the puppetry problem solving interaction group. The treatment covered 4 weeks. The instrument was based on Shure and Spivack's(1974) Preschool Interpersonal Problem Solving (PIPS) test. The data were analyzed with paired t-test, one-way ANOVA, Tukey test, percentage, and Kendall's ${\tau}$. There were significant differences among the three groups in the frequency of solving interpersonal problems. The problem solving interaction with puppetry group was the most effective on Interpersonal Cognitive Problem Solving Strategies. These results showed that problem solving interaction with puppetry is effective in cultivating young children's interpersonal problem solving thinking.

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the relations between resources and conjugal power in Korea, with the specific purpose of testing Rodman's theory that norms and resources operate in a cultural context. The subjects of this study were 268 couples with children who lived in nuclear families and resided in Seoul. Relative conjugal power, norms about role and socioeconomic resources of spouses were measured with questionnaires based on Burr's research. The data were collected from one spouse of each couple. The data were analyzed using the Pearson's Correlation and one-way ANOVA. Results of this study generally supported Rodman's theory but were not consistent with Rodman's speculation that resources are more strongly related to power when norms are more equalitarian than patriarchal.

The data were collected by means of questionnaire distributed to a stratified sample of 544 housewives in Seoul who lived with husband and children. The questionnaires included FACES Ⅱ and Ⅲ, Communication Scale, Managerial behavior Scale and Life Satisfaction Scale. Frequency, percentile, mean, correlation, factor analysis, cluster analysis, One-way ANOVA with Scheffe test, and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. This study had resulted in three major findings. The first was that families were clustered by four types, named structed-separated family, flexible-connected family, change oriented emashed, and rigid-disengaed family. The second finding was that a difference in managerial behavior was found among four types of family. The study population was middle-aged women aged 40-65 years living in one metropolitan city, and 295 data collected using a structured questionnaire were used to analyze the results. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation using SPSS WIN/PC 24.0 statistical program. In the results of this study, the general characteristics related to successful aging in middle-aged women were identified as age, occupation, religion, economic status, presence of chronic diseases, and health status perception, menopause as significant influencing variables. In addition, successful aging was positively related to SOC strategy and life satisfaction among the middle-aged women in this study (p<.05). In particular, life satisfaction was highly correlated with successful aging in this study, and in this regard, efforts should be made to develop various programs to help middle-aged women feel satisfied with their lives so that they can transition to successful aging.
