The ALD process is an adequate technique to meet the requirements that come with the downscaling of semiconductor devices. To obtain thin films of the desired standard, it is essential to understand the thermal decomposition properties of the precursors. As such, this study examined the thermal decomposition properties of TEMAHf precursors and its effect on the formation of $HfO_2$ thin films. FT-IR experiments were performed before deposition in order to analyze the thermal decomposition properties of the precursors. The measurements were taken in the range of $135^{\circ}C-350^{\circ}C$. At temperatures higher than $300^{\circ}C$, there was a rapid decrease in the absorption peaks arising from vibration of $Sp^3$ C-H stretching. This showed that the precursors experienced rapid decomposition at around $275^{\circ}C-300^{\circ}C$. $HfO_2$ thin films were successfully deposited by Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) at $50^{\circ}C$ intervals between $150^{\circ}C$ to $400^{\circ}C$; the deposited films were characterized using a reflectometer, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Grazing Incidence X-ray Diffraction (GIXRD), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The results illustrate the relationship between the thermal decomposition temperature of TEMAHf and properties of thin films.
Ionic conduction mechanism of Mg-Al layered double hydroxides (LDHs) intercalated with CO32- (Mg-Al CO32- LDH) was studied. The electromotive force for the water vapor concentration cell using Mg-Al CO32- LDH as electrolyte showed water vapor partial pressure dependence and obeyed the Nernst equation, indicating that the hydroxide ion transport number of Mg-Al CO32- LDH is almost unity. The ionic conductivity of Mg(OH)2, MgCO3 and Al2(CO3)3 was also examined. Only Al2(CO3)3 showed high hydroxide ion conductivity of the order of 10-4 S cm-1 under 80% relative humidity, suggesting that Al2(CO3)3 is an ion conducting material and related to the generation of carrier by interaction with water. To discuss the ionic conduction mechanism, Mg-Al CO32- LDH having deuterium water as interlayer water (Mg-Al CO32- LDH(D2O)) was prepared. After the adsorbed water molecules on the surface of Mg-Al CO32- LDH(D2O) were removed by drying, DC polarization test for dried Mg-Al CO32- LDH(D2O) was examined. The absorbance attributed to O-D-stretching band for Mg-Al CO32- LDH(D2O) powder at around the positively charged electrode is larger than that before polarization, indicating that the interlayer in Mg-Al CO32- LDH is a hydroxide ion conduction channel.
Dioxobis(sub.-salicylaldiminato) molybdenum (VI) complexes, $MoO_2\;(X-sal-N-R)_2,\;(X=H,\;5-CH_3,\;R=C_6H_5,\;p-F-C_6H_4,\;m-Cl-C_6H_4,p-I-C_6H_4\;and\;p-C_2H_5-C_6H_4)$, have been prepared by reactions of dioxobis(sub.-salicylaldehydato) molybdenum (VI), $MoO_2(X-sal)_2$ with primary amines, in which $MoO_2(X-sal)_2$ complexes were obtained by acidification of a mixture solution of ammonium paramolybdate in water and appropriate salicylaldehyde in methanol. All these complexes show two strong Mo=O stretching imodes in the 900-940$cm^{-1}$ and p.m.r. spectra exhibited only one signal for the azomethine group. These results confirmed that the complexes are six-coordinated octahedron with a $cis-MoO_2$ group and the geometrical configurations of the complexes possess a C2 axis of symmetry. From the mass analyses of the complexes, it found that the composition ratios of $MoO_2$ : ligand are 1 : 2. The charge transfer transition corresponding to N-Mo, and O-Mo occured at 29,000$cm^{-1}$ and 32,000$cm^{-1}$ respectively. Where, the complexes were found to be non-ionic materials by conductivity measurements in dimethylformamide.

Proton conductive hybrid nanocomposite polymer electrolyte membranes comprising polystyrene-5-poly (hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PS-b-PHEMA), sulfosuccinic acid (SA) and phosphotungstic acid (PWA) were prepared by varying PWA concentrations. The PHEMA block was thermally crosslinked by SA via the esterification reaction between -OH of PHEMA and -COOH of SA. Upon the incorporation of PWA into the diblock copolymer, the symmetric stretching bands of the $SO_3^-$ group at $1187cm^{-1}$ shifted to a lower wavenumber at $1158cm^{-1}$, demonstrating that the PWA particles strongly interact with the sulfonic acid groups of SA. When the concentration of PWA was increased to 30wt%, the proton conductivity of the composite membrane at room temperature increased from 0.045 to 0.062 S/cm, presumably due to the intrinsic conductivity of the PWA particles and the enhanced acidity of the sulfonic acid in the membranes. The membrane containing 30wt% of PWA exhibited a proton conductivity of 0.126 S/cm at $100^{\circ}C$. Thermal stability of the composite membranes was also enhanced by introducing PWA nanoparticles.
The spectroscopic characteristics of Madagascar tourmaline were investigated by UV-Vis and FTIR spectroscopy. Physical features were similar to other region's tourmalines. The green and blue samples showed strong absorption band in the 714~743 nm due to $Fe^{3+}$, pink samples showed strong absorption band in the 510~530 nm due to $Mn^{3+}$, brown samples showed strong absorption at 324 nm due to $Mn^{2+}-Ti^{4+}$ IVCT and the colorless samples only revealed weak absorption at 406~413 nm or no absorptions due to low quantity of Mn. Combination of the stretching and bending mode cationic hydroxyl units (metal-OH) are observed in the 4300~4500 $cm^{-1}$. The parallel tube-shaped inclusions which contain hematite were detected generally. This investigation revealed that Cu was not detected but Fe and Mn were detected in the Madagascar tourmalines, and the various colors appear according to the amount of those impurity elements.
In this study, the effect of copper content on the NO removal efficiency by Cu/MCM-41 has been investigated. MCM-41 was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis using a gel mixture of colloidal silica solution and cetyltrimethylammonium. Cu/MCM-41 was manufactured with copper content (5, 10, 20, and 40%) in Cu(II) acetylacetonate. The surface properties of MCM-41 were investigated by using pH, XRD, and FT-IR analyses. $N_2/77K$ adsorption isotherm characteristics, including the specific surface area and micropore volume were studied by BET's equation and Boer's t-plot methods. NO removal efficiency was confirmed by gas chromatography technique. From the experimental results, the MCM-41 was analyzed to have the surface functional groups of Si-OH and Si-O-Si and the characteristic diffraction lines (100), (110), (200), and (210) corresponding to a hexagonal arrangement structure. The copper content supported on MCM-41 appeared to increase the NO removal efficiency in spite of decreasing the specific surface areas or micropore volumes. Consequently, it was found that the copper content in Cu/MCM-41 played an important role in improving the NO removal efficiency, which was mainly attributed to the catalytic reactions.
Kaolinite was synthesized from amorphous $SiO_2$ and $Al(OH)_3{\cdot}xH_{2}O$ as starting materials by hydrothermal reaction conducted at $250^{\circ}C$ and $30\;kg/cm^2$. The acidity of the solution was adjusted at pH 2. The synthesized kaolinite was characterized by XRD, IR, NMR, FE-SEM, TEM and EDS to clarify the formational process according to the reaction time from 2 to 36 hours. X-ray diffraction patterns showed after 2 h of reaction time, the starting material amorphous $Al(OH)_3{\cdot}xH_{2}O$ transformed to boehmite (AlOOH) and after the reaction time 5 h, the peaks of boehmite were observed to be absent thereby indicating the crystal structure is partially destructed. Kaolinite formation was identified in the product obtained after 10 h of reaction and the peak intensity of kaolinite increased further with reaction time. The results of TGA and DTA revealed that the principal feature of kaolinite trace are well resolved. TGA results showed 13 wt% amount of weight loss and DTA analysis showed that exothermic peak of boehmite observed at $258^{\circ}C$ was decreased gradually and after 10 h of reaction time, it was disappeared. After 5 h of the reaction time, the exothermicpeak of transformation to spinel phase was observed and the peak intensiy increased with reaction time. The results of FT-IR suggested a highly ordered kaolinite was obtained after 36 hours of reaction. It was identified by the characteristic hydroxide group bands positioned at 3,696, 3670, 3653 and $3620\;cm^{-1}$. The development of the hydroxyl stretching between 3696 and $3620\;cm^{-1}$, depends on the degree of order and crystalline perfection. TEM results showed that after 15 h reaction time, curved platy kaolinite was observed as growing of (001) plane and after 36 h, the morphology of synthetic kaolinite exhibited platy crystal with partial polygonal outlines.
TThis study explored the requirement of fabric sensor that can measure the motion of the joint effectively by measuring and analyzing the variation in electric resistance of a sensor in accordance with bending and stretching motion of the arm by the implementation of a motion sensor utilizing conductive fabric. For this purpose, on both sides of two kinds of knitted fabric, namely 'L' fabric and 'W' fabric Single Wall Carbon Nano-Tube(SWCNT) was coated, fabric sensor was developed by finishing them in a variety of ways, and the sensor was attached to the arm band. The fabric sensor consisted of total 48 cases, namely background fabric for coating, the method of sensor attachment, the number of layer of sensors, the length of sensor, and the width of sensor. The performance of fabric motion sensors in terms of a dummy arm, that is, a Con-Trex MJ with 48 arm bands around it was evaluated. For each arm band, a total of 48, fastened around the dummy arm, it was adjusted to repeat the bending and stretching at the frequency : 0.5Hz, ROM : $20^{\circ}{\sim}120^{\circ}$, the voltage was recorded for each case after conducting three sets of repeat measurement for a total of 48 cases. As a result of the experiment, and as a consequences of the evaluation and analysis of the voltage based on the uniformity of the base line of the peak-to-peak voltage(Vp-p), the uniformity of Vp-p within the same set, and the uniformity of the Vp-p among three sets, the fabric sensors that have been configured in SWCNT coated 'L' fabric / welding / two layers / $50{\times}5mm$, $50{\times}10mm$, $100{\times}10mm$, and SWCNT coated 'W' fabric / welding / two layers / $50{\times}10mm$ exhibited the most uniform and stable signal value within 5% of the total variation rate. Through all these results of the experiment, it was confirmed that SWCNT coated fabric was suitable for a sensor that can measure the human limb operation when it was implemented as a fabric sensor in a variety of forms, and the optimal sensor types were identified.
The time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) method has been carried out to investigate the excitedstate hydrogen-bonding dynamics of phenol-$(H_2O)_2$ complex. The geometric structures and infrared (IR) spectra in ground state and different electronically excited states ($S_1$ and $T_1$) of the hydrogen-bonded complex have been calculated using the density functional theory (DFT) and TDDFT method. A ring of three hydrogen bonds is formed between phenol and two water molecules. We have demonstrated that the intermolecular hydrogen bond $O_1-H_2{\cdots}O_3-H$ of the three hydrogen bonds is strengthened in $S_1$ and $T_1$ states. In contrast, the hydrogen bond $O_5-H_6{\cdots}O_1-H$ is weakened in $S_1$ and $T_1$ states. These results are obtained by theoretically monitoring the changes of the bond lengths of the hydrogen bonds and hydrogen-bonding groups in different electronic states. The hydrogen bond $O_1-H_2{\cdots}O_3-H$ strengthening in both the $S_1$ and $T_1$ states is confirmed by the calculated stretching vibrational mode of O-H (phenol) being red-shifted upon photoexcitation. The hydrogen bond strengthening and weakening behavior in electronically excited states may exist in other ring structures of phenol-$(H_2O)_n$.
Resveratrol (RES) and genistein (GEN) are the dietary natural products known to possess chemopreventive property and also the ability to repair DNA damage induced by mutagens/carcinogens. It is believed that the therapeutic activity of these compounds could be primarily due to their interaction with nucleic acids but detailed reports are not available. We here explore the interaction of these drugs with nucleic acids considering DNA and RNA as a potential therapeutic target. The interaction of RES and GEN has been analysed in buffered solution with DNA [saline sodium citrate (SSC)] and RNA [tris ethylene diammine tetra acetic acid (TE)] using UV-absorption and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The UV analysis revealed lesser binding affinity with nucleic acids at lower concentration of RES (P/D = 5.00 and 10.00), while at higher drug concentration (P/D = 0.75, 1.00 and 2.50) hyperchromic effect with shift in the ${\lambda}_{max}$ is noted for DNA and RNA. A major RES-nucleic acids complexes was observed through base pairs and phosphate backbone groups with K = $35.782\;M^{-1}$ and K = $34.25\;M^{-1}$ for DNA-RES and RNA-RES complexes respectively. At various concentrations of GEN (P/D = 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00 and 2.50) hyperchromicity with shift in the ${\lambda}_{max}$ from 260 $\rightarrow$ 263 om and 260 $\rightarrow$ 270 nm is observed for DNA-GEN and RNA-GEN complexes respectively. The binding constant (from UV analysis) for GEN-nucleic acids complexes could not be obtained due to GEN absorbance overlap with that of nucleic acids at 260 nm. Nevertheless a detailed analysis with regard to the interaction of these drugs (RES/GEN) with DNA and RNA could feasibly be understood by FTIR spectroscopy. The NH band of free DNA and RNA which appeared at $3550-3100\;cm^{-1}$ and $3650-2700\;cm^{-1}$ shifted to $3450-2950\;cm^{-1}$ and $3550-3000\;cm^{-1}$ in DNA-RES and RNA-RES complexes respectively. Similarly shifts corresponding to $3650-3100\;cm^{-1}$ and $3420-3000\;cm^{-1}$ have been observed in DNA-GEN and RNA-GEN complexes respectively. The observed reduction in NH band of free nucleic acids upon complexation of these drugs is an indication of the involvement of the hydroxyl (OH) and imino (NH) group during the interaction of the drugs and nucleic acids (DNA/RNA) through H-bonded formation. The interaction of RES and GEN with bases appears in the order of G $\geq$ T > C > A and A > C $\geq$ T > G. Further interaction of these natural compounds with DNA and RNA is also supported by changes in the vibrational frequency (shift/intensity) in symmetrical and asymmetrical stretching of aromatic rings of drugs in the complex spectra. No appreciable shift is observed in the DNA and RNA marker bands, indicating that the B-DNA form and A-family conformation of RNA are not altered during their interaction with RES and GEN.
