The need increased capacity in the cellular system has resulted in the adoption of digital technology with CDMA as the channel access method. It has been recognized that the distinction of the base station is important for its performance in CDMA, since the same spreading sequences are used by the all base stations. Time offset of the pseudo-random noise binary code are used to distinguish signals received at a mobile station from different base station. But the start of the zero offset PN sequence is chosen arbitrary without the background of the systematic and mathematical elaboration. This paper proposes a mothed that define the start of the zero offset PN sequence mathematically. This paper also discusses a method that can easily calculate the time offset of the received spreading sequence with respect to the zero offset PN sequence.

This paper proposes DC offset current compensation method of transformerless fuel cell/PV PCS. DC offset current is generated by the unbalanced internal resistance of the switching devices in full bridge topology. The other cause is the sensitivity of the current sensor, which is lower than DSP in resolution. If power converter system has these causes, the AC output current in the inverter will generate the DC offset. In case of transformerless grid-connected inverter system, DC offset current is fatal to grid-side, which results in saturating grid side transformer. Several simulation results show the difficulties of detecting DC offset current. Detecting DC offset current method consists of the differential amplifiers and PWM is compensated by the output of the Op amp circuit with integrator controller. PSIM simulation verifies that the proposed method is simpler and more effective than using low resolution current sensor alone.

Distance relay is widely used for the protection of long transmission line. Most of distance relay used to calculate line impedance by measuring voltage and current using DFT. So if there is a computation error due to the influence of phasor by DC offset component, due to excessive vibration by measuring line impedance, overreach or underreach can be occurs, and then abnormal and non-operation of distance relay can be issue. It is very important to implement the robust distance relaying that is not affected by DC offset component. This paper describes an enhanced distance relaying based on the DC offset elimination filter to minimize the effects of DC offset on a long transmission line. The proposed DC offset elimination filter has not need any prior information. The phase angle delay of the proposed DC offset filter did not occurred and the gain error was not found. The enhanced distance relay uses fault current as well as residual current. The behavior of the proposed distance relaying using off-line simulation has been verified using data about several fault conditions generated by the ATP simulation software.
Since 2013, the forest carbon offest scheme is operated by 'ACT ON THE MANAGEMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF CARBON SINK'. Most of projects account for afforestation, reforestation and restoration. This study analyzed what is affected to pricing factors for the registered 71 project of forest carbon offset in Korea Forest Service. The purpose of this study is to introduce information on the business plans of forest carbon offset scheme and aid to understand the process from registration to issuing offset credits. Also it is meaningful to proposing a policy for price competitiveness and how to enable forest carbon offset schemes to produce activation by measuring the factors that affect the forest carbon offset scheme. The results showed forest carbon credit price is 92,827 won per ton on average, it could see less price-competitive than emission rights market when compared with the price.
Despite the development of electronic components and microprocessors, hydraulic actuators are still being applied in various applications. In some applications, there is a desire to apply a hydraulic actuator with a relatively small position error to the system. Various studies have been conducted to reduce the position error of hydraulic actuators. In this paper, the position error of the hydraulic actuator when the hydraulic oil pressure is supplied is defined as the offset generated by the servo valve, and the method for correcting the servo valve offset has been studied. A method for compensating the servo valve offset was proposed and it was verified through experiments that the position error of the hydraulic actuator was reduced. We also compared the servo valve offset correction method and controller using the PID control and disturbance observer used to reduce the position error of the hydraulic actuator. No-load test and load test were performed to confirm the performance of the servo valve offset correction method. The results of the study were compared with those obtained by using the disturbance observer and PID control.
In this paper, the estimation of the disparity for depth extraction in monochrome complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) image sensors with offset pixel apertures is presented. To obtain the depth information, the disparity information between two different channel data of the offset pixel apertures is required. The disparity is caused by the difference in the response angle between the left- and right-offset pixel aperture images. A depth map is implemented by the generated disparity. Therefore, the disparity is the most important factor for realizing 3D images from the designed CMOS image sensor with offset pixel apertures. The disparity is influenced by the pixel height and offset value of the offset pixel aperture. To confirm this correlation, the offset value is set to maximum within the pixel area, and the disparity values corresponding to the difference in the heights are calculated and compared. The disparity is derived using the camera-lens formula. Two monochrome CMOS image sensors with offset pixel apertures are used in the disparity estimation.

In this paper, a 1.2V 7-bit 1GSPS A/D converter with offset self-calibration is proposed. The proposed A/D converter structure is based on the folding-interpolation whose folding rate is 2, interpolation rate is 8. Further, for the purpose of improving the chip performance, an offset self-calibration circuit is used. The offset self-calibration circuit reduce the variation of the offset-voltage,due to process mismatch, parasitic resistor, and parasitic capacitance. The chip has been fabricated with a 1.2V 65nm 1-poly 6-metal CMOS technology. The effective chip area is $0.87mm^2$ and the power dissipates about 110mW at 1.2V power supply. The measured SNDR is about 39.1dB when the input frequency is 250MHz at 800MHz sampling frequency. The measured SNDR is 3dB higher than the same circuit without any calibration.

Recently, the research on the construction of optical Internet backbone networks using WDM has been actively progressed. In this paper, we propose the offset based service-differentiation scheme in optical burst switching (OBS) networks. We classify the services into two classes; high class and low class. The proposed scheme decides the offset time of high class so as to satisfy the required burst loss rate (BLR) of services according to the service-differentiation ratio (SDR). The SDR may be set depending on the environment of OBS network and user's requirements, our scheme decides the BLR of high class by using the required SDR and conservation law. Finally, we use the offset time decision (OTD) algorithm to determine the offset time of high class. The proposed scheme is evaluated through simulation. The result of simulation is compared with that of analysis to verify the proposed scheme.

This paper proposes an integer frequency offset estimation scheme robust to timing offset for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based cognitive radio (CR) systems. The proposed scheme exploits a feature that a sample distance between a continual pilot and a scattered pilot nearest to it in an OFDM symbol belongs to one of predetermined distances. First after calculating a correlation value of every continual pilot and its nearest scattered pilot. Then, it is divided into several groups according to the sample distances. Since correlation values with the same sample distance undergo the same effect of the timing offset, the effect of the timing offset can be removed by re-correlating these correlation values. From the simulation results we can confirm that the proposed algorithm estimates the integer frequency offset with the robustness to the timing offset when compared to a conventional scheme.

A new frequency offset estimation algorithm for chirp spread spectrum based on matched filter is proposed. Generally, the differential phase between successive symbols is used for the conventional frequency offset estimation algorithm. However, if the conventional frequency offset estimation algorithm is used for CSS, phase ambiguity arises because of long symbol duration and guard time. The phase ambiguity causes performance degradation of matched filter since the received signal is corrupted by the integer frequency offset. In this paper, we propose a new frequency offset estimation algorithm which separates integer and fractional frequency offset estimation for removing the phase ambiguity. The proposed algorithm estimates the integer frequency offset by using differential phase between matched filtering results of sub-chirps and successive symbols. Then, the fractional frequency offset is estimated by using the differential phase between successive symbols Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm well removes the phase ambiguity, and have almost same estimation performance compared with conventional one when there is not the phase ambiguity.
