Modification of Stress-Strain Properties of OCC

  • The stress and strain properties of KOCC were modified to improve the performance of KOCC as a packaging raw material. The refining consistency, refining degree and the grammage of handsheet were varied. The stress strain properties, tensile energy absorption were measured for prepared handsheets. The refining improved significantly the stress and strain properties of paper, especially at lower refining consistency. The increase of grammage also had contributed to improve the stress and strain of paper. It was also found that both refining and grammage contributed to the improvement of tensile energy absorption. However, it is strongly recommended to introduce the combination of refining consistency, refining degree and mechanical treatment.

  • Waste paper plastic composites were prepared with old newspaper and old corrugated containers and mixed office waste and those properties were evaluated. The results were summarized as fellows. 1. The strength properties like as tensile and Young's modulus reveled most high level in MOW composite. 2. The coagulation of fibers in paper particle should interrupt equal dispersion of polymer and paper particle. 3. The micrograph of the surface of composites showed the most high dispersion in ONP composite.

  • This study is to find the effect of the molecular weight distribution of components on the freeness and physical properties of paper by observing the change of properties according the modification of fibers by using production technology and process technology together to develop additives which can effectively control according to the purpose of paper-making process and by combining low molecular weight cellulase (below MW 20,000; CMC activity 400 unit) with different enzyme's molecular weight and activity and high molecular weight cellulase(MW 20,000∼80,000;CMC activity 90,000 unit) and then process them in Sw-BKP(Softwood Bleached Kraft Pulp) and Hw-BKP(Hardwood Bleached Kraft Pulp) and Cotton Linter Pulp and OCC(Old Corrugated Container) with different properties of pore of surface of fibers respectively, since it is judged that making the appropriate composition ratio of components is necessary in consideration of the properties of fibers and paper-making process.

  • Acoustic and pressure type seabed installed wave sensors have advantage in observing long period infra-gravity wave and tsunami, while buoy type wave gauges which measure acceleration of the moored buoy motion are not able to detect long period waves. That's why most of the Japanese coastal wave observation sensors are seabed installed typed ones. Nationwide Japanese coastal wave observation systems with seabed installed sensors are gradually clarifying long-period tsunami profiles and infra-gravity wave characteristics (Nagai.et.al., 1996, 1997,2000,2002a,2002b).   • Stereo image analysis has been an important tool for reconstructing 3D terrain. By In its nature, occlusion is one of difficulties Ive cannot avoid in stereo matching. This paper presents a study on occlusion detection by employing LRC(Left-Right Check) and OCC(Occlusion Constraint) and how we can improve the accuracy of DEM(Digital Elevation Model) y using interpolated data into the detected occluded area. Experimental results show that these method can effectively detect occluded regions and improve the accuarcy of DEM using the occlusion detection.

  • The OCC of Seoul Metro whose operation began in 1974 is in charge of conveying 4,000,000 passengers across 117 subway stations in travel zones of 134.9Km in length. It continues to strive to ensure passenger safety by applying state-of-the-art-technology to each control system without delay. The power control center especially designed to provide power system operations for all stations of Seoul Metro(Line 1 to 4) and the rolling stocks implements preventive safety systems with the real time power system operational information on changes in conditions from the field through the power SCADA system(41 substations, 117 stations, 137 terminal units). This paper reports the differences of each line's power SCADA system(power SCADA systems of Seoul Metro(Line 1 to 4)), the roles and functions of the system, and the system operating characteristics and limits from the standpoint of the operator.

  • In this paper 30 kVA Super-Conducting Generator's test and analysis results of OCC and SCC are presented. Also the test and FE analysis results of the generator under 1.2, 2.4, and 3.6[kW] load are described. For FE analysis of the generator's performance, the external circuit is coupled with the FE region. The generator's end winding reactance is obtained based on the design data, actual dimension, preliminary FE analysis, and empirical formulas. The comparison of FE analysis coupled with external circuit to the test results shows a good agreement.

  • As an extension of Visible Light Communication, Optical Camera Communications (OCC) will be a promising service for smart devices. Especially in line of sight marketing service and indoor localization application, by using camera which exists in smart devices, small amount of data (url link) can be broadcasted or find direction from the illumination system. This paper introduces the operation of wireless communications technology that transmits optical information from optical light source to camera, called Optical Camera Communications.

  • 최근 온라인 게임을 비롯하여 영화, 애니메이션 등 가상현실에서 캐릭터가 중심적인 역할을 하게 되었고 좀 더 능동적이고 사람에 가까운 캐릭터 개발이 필요하게 되었다. 이러한 요구 중에서 본 논문에서는 감성기반 캐릭터에 초점을 맞추었고 Emotion Al사의 Artificial Emotion Engine Model과 OCC Model를 바탕으로 각 캐릭터의 특성을 반영하고 캐릭터간의 상호 작용을 바탕으로 감성을 도출해 낼 수 있는 Emotion Engine의 Architecture를 제시한다.

정유의 항균 성분을 이용한 항균 라이너지 개발 (Development of Antibacterial Corrugating Liner Using Essential Oils Extracted from Chamaecyparis obtusa)

  • Essential oils extracted from Chamaecyparis obtusa were applied to make antibacterial corrugating liner. The quantitative analysis of the essential oils was carried out by GC-MS, which showed that the monoterpenes as a basic component of the essential oils extracted from Chamaecyparis obtusa in the domestic mountain were greater in amount than those in China. The antibacterial activity was then examined with Tyromyces palustris and gram-negative/positive bacteria. The papers treated with the essential oils desplayed great resistance against T. Palustris and gram bacteria but the best results were obtained with the handsheet formed by softwood bleached kraft pulp rather than the liner by OCC. The low antibacterial activity of the liner was considered to be due to starch components which could be readily attacked by the fungi.
