Clinical trial of Herbal Decoction for Sitz Bath on Postpartum Mother's Perineal Healing (한방좌욕제가 산모의 회음절개술후 동통에 미치는 효과에 대한 임상연구)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to verify the effect of Herbal Decoction for Sitz Bath on postpartum mother's perineal healing. Methods: Women who had given birth vaginally and had an episiotomy were included in study. The primary outcome for study was severity of pain, discomfort, rated on a 10-cm visual analog scale from 0("no pain") to 10("worst pain ever"). As a secondary outcome, we also evaluated side effect and "feeling". Results: In clinical trial, perineal pain, perineal discomfort, after-pain were significantly low at postpartum 3th days, respectively. And mothers were satisfied with "Herbal Decoction for Sitz Bath". Conclusion: According to these results, we finally concluded that "herbal decoction for sitz bath" for perineal care could be effective in healing the perineum.

A Research of Body Size Analysis and Graphing in 30yrs Korean Women (30대 한국 여성의 체위 분석과 도식화 연구)

  • Purpose: Obesity is already a major clinical problem in Korea, so obesity prevention and treatment practices are gradually interested in Korean Medicine doctors. Moreover subjective body shape image entered as a important medical topic recently. To make a graph system for clinical tool which based on the Korean national standard physical scale in 30yrs Korean women. Methods: Physical data of the girth of upper arm, abdomen, hip, buttock, flank, calf, and body weight were statistically analyzed, which collected through the fifth national standard physical scale research. And then reviewed those statistical validation. Results: Relationship of the each body scale data and those graphs were fit and right statistically. Conclusion: These new achieved graph system of Korean standard body scales could be adopt as a useful clinical tool for body image related patients such as obesity, PCOD and postpartum patient in 30yrs Korean women.

Clinical Study for Two Cases of Endometrioma Treated by Gami-sibjeon-tang with Acupuncture and Moxa (가미십전탕(加味十全湯)과 침구치료로 호전된 자궁내막종 2례 임상경과 보고)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Gami-sibjeon-tang with acupuncture and moxa on endometrioma. Methods: We treated two patients who had endometrioma. Western OB&GY doctors had recommended to operate or observe. But they refused the way western doctors cure the disease. Their chief complainment was severe pain during menstruation period. And they had lower abdominal or lower back pain and acnes on skin. We used Gami-sibjeon-tang on both patients with acupuncture and moxa. Results: After treated by Gami-sibjeon-tang with acupuncture and moxa, they experienced improvement of dysmenorrhea and pain of abdomen and back, and reduction of acnes on skin. And even the sizes of endometrioma had reduced or eliminated. Conclusion: We thought the dysmenorrhea of endometrioma was concerned with inflammation and adhension. So Gami-sibjeon-tang was used when the inflammation and adhension didn't healed because of deficiency of Qi and blood. We administerd Gami-sibjeon-tang with acupuncture and moxa and their dysmenorrhea and other symptoms was relieved.

Clinical Study on the Efficacy and Safety of Chiljehyangbuhwan in the Treatment of Dysmenorrhea (칠제향부환제제(七製香附丸製劑)의 원발성(原發性) 월경통(月經痛)에 대한 임상적 효과)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to identify the clinical effects of Chiljehyangbuhwan in the treatment of dysmenorrhea patients. Methods : We studied fifty patients who visited Kyung Hee University Oriental Medical Center from July, 2004 to August, 2004. Women with organic disease such as ut. myoma, ov. cyst and pelvic inflammatory disease were excluded from this study. We treated them with Chiljehyangbuhwan for one menstrual cycle. The severity of dysmenorrhea were measured by MVRS (Multidimensional Verbal Rating scale), VRS (Verbal Rating scale) and VAS (Visual Analog Scale). Results : Chiljehyangbuhwan significantly decreased the severity of dysmenorrhea. Furthermore Chiljehyangbuhwan had an effect on dysmenorrhea for next menstrual cycle without taking. Chiljehyangbuhwan did not show hepatic and renal virulence. Conclusion : This study shows that Chiljehyangbuhwan has remarkable effects on dysmenorrhea patients and that effects continue to next menstrual cycle without taking medicine.

A Review of Outpatients in Oriental Obstetric & Gynecology Clinic of the Oriental Hospital for 3 Years (3년간 일개 한의대 부속 한방병원 여성의학과 외래 환자에 대한 임상고찰)

  • Purpose: To show the clinical aspects in outpatients who visited Oriental Obstetric & Gynecology Clinic Methods: We studied 7141 patients who visited Oriental Obstetric & Gynecology Clinic from 2008 to 2010. Results: 1. The total patients and the percentage of new patients increased every year. 2. The age distribution showed over 60% in 20~49. 3. The percentage of Oriental Ob&Gy patients decreased with 55% in 2008, 28% in 2009, 29% in 2010. 4. The distribution of oriental diagnosis showed 55.4% in Ob&Gy, 19.2% in musculoskeletal system, 6% digestive system and respiratory system neuropsychiatry in 2008. And 30.6% in musculoskeletal system, 28.5% in Ob&Gy, 10.9% neuropsychiatry in 2009. And 29% in musculoskeletal system, 28.1% in Ob&Gy, 11.1% in heart system in 2010. 5. The most commonly used herbal medicine was Ikgibohyeltang. Conclusions: We hope these results could be helpful to diagnosis and treatment of oriental Ob&Gy patients.

  • This study was designed to evaluate the effect of oriental medicine therapy on a adenomyosis. The patient was admitted to the OBGY department of Wonkwang university in Gwang-Ju, from 20th August 2004 to 7th September 2004, from 20th September 2004 to 1 st October 2004, from 20th October 2004 to 27th October 2004. She was treated with herbal medication, herbal acupunture etc. After this treatment, improvement was seen in dysmenorrhea (low abdomen pain, low back pain), profuse menstruation, the amount of black blood clots. The study suggests that oriental medicine therapy is significantly effective in the treatment of adenomyosis.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to identify the clinical effects of auricular acupuncture in the treatment of dysmenorrhea. Methods : Auricular acupuncture treatments were prescribed to 29 dysmenorrhea patients 1 time a week for 13 weeks. Results : After the treatment, numerical index for the pain was obviously reduced 'tot' point 2.61. It means that pain index as the patient has difficulty in daily life was reduced to 2 grades enough to do ordinary experience. Conclusions : This study shows that auricular acupuncture treatment has remarkable effects on dysmenorrhea.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to find out relation between DSOM scores and an attack of uterus myoma in oriental medicine. Methods : We analyze the medical records for 386 patients including 257 uterus myoma patients who visited Dongeui University Oriental Medical Center from May 2001 to June 2006. We investigate the DOSM symptom scores which effect uterus myoma patients using logistic regression model. Results : Logistic regression analysis indicate that 14 items of DSOM were associated with the myoma, and the results show that correct rate is equal to 79.79%, sensitivity is 83.66%, specificity is 72.09%. Conclusion : There is fair relation between DSOM scores(14 items of DSOM) and an attack of uterus myoma in oriental medicine.

  • Purpose: This is a following study of preceding study about application and improvement of acupuncture benefits in OB & GY disease that was performed in 2007. And this study was performed to complement and compare with a preceding study. Methods: The questionnaire used in preceding survey was distributed to general korean medical doctors who have mainly worked in oriental medical clinic. And results of this survey was compared with results of preceding survey. Results: Results of two surveys were almost similar. 1. The common suitable the sick and wounded name of Ob & Gy disease thought be added in Intra-abdominal acupuncture(腹腔內; CV13 ${\cdot}$ CV16 ${\cdot}$ CV10) in two surveys were dysmenorrhea(K05). infertility(K15), JingHa(pelvic tumor) (K11). In Puncture each adjoining acu-points in one insertion(透刺; SP6-GB39)were dysmenorrhea(K05), climacteric syndrome(K04). amenorrhea (K03), In Puncture each adjoining acu-points in one insertion(透刺; PC6-TE5) were climacteric syndrome(K04), hyperemesis(K16.0), dysmenorrhea(K05). 2. The common acupuncture benefits items that postpartum pain syndrome(K29) should be added as suitable the sick and wounded name were Intra-articular acupuncture(關節內; LI15, SI10, GB30), Intervertebral acupuncture (脊椎間; GV14, 16, 6, 4, 12, 11, 9, 8, 3), Puncture each adjoining acu-points in one insertion (透刺; SP6-GB39). Conclusion: Based on this study, Survey to more KMDs should be performed. And the academic and clinical verifications that supports this results should be supplied.

A Study on Relation Inbody, HRV, PTG and FSH, LH (Inbody, HRV, PTG와 FSH, LH의 연관성 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out the relation of oriental medicine examination(Inbody, HRV, PTG) and FSH, LH. Methods: We have carried out clinical trials who volunteered for Sasang constitutional medicine and Oriental OB & GY, Oriental Medical hospital of Dong-Eui University from November 2005 to January 2006. Women of Volunteers were 129 persons. Because 7 persons didn't exam oriental examination so we analyzed the results statistically for 122 persons. Results: 1. Inbody & FSH, LH In the relation of FSH correlation with results of Waist-Hip Ratio, Visceral Fat Area was increased(+direction), in the relation of LH correlation with results of Edema, Visceral Fat Area was increased (+direction). 2.The fluents of HRV & FSH, LH In the relation of FSH, LH correlation with results of SDNN, RMS, TP, VLF, LF, HF was decreased (-direction). 3.The fluents of PTG & FSH, LH In the relation of FSH, LH correlation with results of the fluents of PTG was decreased (-direction), with results of b_a was increased (+direction), with results of d_a was decreased (-direction). Conclusion: From this study, Inbody and HRV and PTG are corelation with FSH, LH.
