Magnetoresistance Properties of Spin Valves Using MoN Underlayer (MoN 하지층을 이용한 스핀밸브의 자기저항 특성)

  • In this paper, magnetic properties and annealing behavior of spin valve structures using Mo(MoN) layers as underlayers were studied varying the thickness of the underlayers. The spin valve structure was consisted of Si substrate/$SiO_2(2,000{\AA})/Mo(MoN)(t{\AA})/NiFe(21\;{\AA})/CoFe(28\;{\AA})/Cu(22\;{\AA})/CoFe(18\;{\AA})/IrMn(65\;{\AA})/Ta(25\;{\AA})$. Also, MoN films were deposited on Si substrates and their thermal annealing behavior was analyzed. The resistivity of the MoN film increased as the $N_2$ gas flow rate was increased. After annealing at $600^{\circ}C$, XRD results did not show peaks of silicides. XPS results indicated MoN film deposited with 5 sccm of $N_2$ gas flow rate was more stable than the film deposited with 1 sccm of $N_2$ gas flow rate. The variations of MR ratio and magnetic exchange coupling fold were small for the spin valve structures using Mo(MoN) underlayers up to thickness of45 ${\AA}$. MR ratio of spin valves using MoN underlayers deposited with various $N_2$ gas flow rate was about 7.0% at RT and increased to about 7.5% after annealing at $220^{\circ}C$. Upon annealing at $300^{\circ}C$, the MR ratio decreased to about 3.5%. Variation of $N_2$ gas flow rate up to 5 sccm did not change the MR ratio and $H_{ex}$ appreciably.

The Reaction Characteristics of NOx/N2O and NH3 in Crematory Facility SCR Process with Load Variation (부하변동이 큰 화장시설 SCR 공정에서 NOx/N2O 및 NH3 동시 저감 특성 연구)

  • Efficient simultaneous reduction conditions for $NO_x$ and $NH_3$-slip was investigated in SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) process with load variation by applying dual catalysts (SCR catalyst, $NH_3$ decomposition catalyst) system. $N_2O$ formation characteristics were analyzed to look into possible undesirable reaction pathways. In the experiments of catalyst characteristics, various operational variables were tested for the combined catalytic system, such as $NH_3/NO_x$ ratio, temperature, oxygen concentration and $H_2O$. The reaction characteristics of $NO_x$, $NH_3$ and $N_2O$ were analyzed and optimal conditions could be evaluated for the combustion facility with varied load. In terms of $NO_x/NH_3$ simultaneous reduction and $N_2O$ formation suppression, optimal condition was considered NSR 1.2 and temperature $300^{\circ}C$. At this operational condition, $NO_x$ conversion was 98%, $NH_3$ reduction efficiency was 95%, generated $N_2O$ concentration 9.5 ppm with inlet $NO_x$ concentration of 100 ppm. In $NH_3-SCR$ process with $NH_3$ decomposition catalyst, $NO_x$ and $NH_3$ can be considered to be reduced simultaneously at limited conditions. The results of this study may be utilized as basic data at facilities requiring simultaneous $NO_x$ and $NH_3$ reduction for facilities with load variation.

  • The addition of Sn to Pt/${\gamma}$-$A1_2O_3$ catalyst greatly enhanced the activity and decreased the deactivation rate for the dehydrocyclization of paraffins. For the dehydrocyclization of n-octane, there appeared to be an optimal ratio of Pt:Sn=1:4 for 0.75 wt% Pt/${\gamma}$-$A1_2O_3$ catalyst. The addition of K to Pt/${\gamma}$-$A1_2O_3$ also produced a similar effect on the dehydrocyclization of n-hexane. In the case of n-octane, the addition of K led to a less selective catalyst.

The Properties of YMnO$_3$ ceramics (YMnO$_3$ 세라믹의 물리적 특성)

  • We measured the dielectric properties with YMnO$_3$ ceramics using solution method based procedure via by citrate. The crystalline phases were determined using XRD. Also we observed morphologies of YMnO$_3$ ceramics using SEM. We proved the structure of YMnO$_3$ ceramics which is hexagonal. But lots of pores were observed the microstructure. It would be considered as volatile organic. The maximum density of YMn03 ceramics is obtained sintering temperature 135$0^{\circ}C$ and the ratio 0.95/1.05 of Y/Mn. But even though the density we obtained is the highest, that is lower than theoretical density because of remaining organics by citric acid. Dielectric constant and dissipation factor were improved as increasing sintering temperature and the Y/Mn ratio (0.95/1.05)

Ultraviolet Photodetection Properties of ZnO/Si Heterojunction Diodes Fabricated by ALD Technique Without Using a Buffer Layer

  • The fabrication and characterization of a Si/ZnO thin film heterojunction ultraviolet photodiode has been presented in this paper. ZnO thin film of ~100 nm thick was deposited on <100> Silicon (Si) wafer by atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique. The Photoluminescence spectroscopy confirms that as-deposited ZnO thin film has excellent visible-blind UV response with almost no defects in the visible region. The room temperature current-voltage characteristics of the n-ZnO thin film/p-Si photodiodes are measured under an UV illumination of $650{\mu}W$ at 365 nm in the applied voltage range of ${\pm}2V$. The current-voltage characteristics demonstrate an excellent UV photoresponse of the device in its reverse bias operation with a contrast ratio of ~ 1115 and responsivity of ~0.075 A/W at 2 V reverse bias voltage.

Luminescence Characteristics of Ba2+ Co-Doped Sr2SiO4:Eu Yellow Phosphor for Light Emitting Diodes (LED용 Ba2+ Co-Doped Sr2SiO4:Eu 황색 형광체의 발광특성)

  • We have synthesized a $Eu^{2+}-activated\;{(Sr,Ba)}_2SiO_4$ yellow phosphor and investigated the development of blue LEDs by combining the phosphor with a InGaN blue LED chip (${\lambda}_{em}$=405 nm). The InGaN-based ${(Sr,Ba)}_2SiO_{4}:Eu$ LED lamp shows two bands at 405 nm and 550 nm. The 405 nm emission band is due to a radiative recombination from a InGaN active layer. This 405 nm emission was used as an optical transition of the ${(Sr,Ba)}_2SiO_{4}:Eu$ phosphor. The 550 nm emission band is ascribed to a radiative recombination of $Eu^{2+}$ impurity ions in the ${(Sr,Ba)}_2SiO_4$ host matrix. In the preparation of UV Yellow LED Lamp with ${(Sr,Ba)}_2SiO_{4}:Eu$ yellow phosphor, the highest luminescence efficiency was obtained at the epoxy-to-yellow phosphor ratio of 1:0.45. At this ratio, the CIE chromaticity was x=0.4097 and y=0.5488.

Effect of Zeolite and Livestock Manure in Composting Materials on Composting of Seafood Processing Wastewater Sludge (수산가공폐수 슬러지의 퇴비화과정중 zeolite 및 가축분첨가 효과)

  • To study the possibility of agricultural utilization of seafood processing wastewater sludges, the change of temperature, decreasing ratio of weight generation quantity of $CO_2$ and $NH_3$, and contents of inorganic elements for composting by adding different rates of zeolite and livestock manure to seafood processing wastewater sludges were investigated. Changes of temperature, decreasing ratio of total weight and generation quantity of $CO_2$ were not little different with increasing addition rates of zeolite for composting. But the less addition quantity of livestock manure is, the higher were temperature and decreasing ratio weight for composting. Ceneration quantity of $NH_3$ in composting materials as adding zeolite ti 5, 10 and 20% and livestock manure to 50, 65 and 80% were 68, 61 and $46mg/kgvs{\cdot}hr$, respectively, for composting periods. So, $NH_3$ generated little quantity as much as possible addition of zeolite and manure. Contents of T-C and T-N little decreased and C/N ratio little increased after composting than before. Content of $P_2O_5$, $K_2O$, CaO also increased a little, that of MgO is not different and that of Mn decreased very sharply in all conditions after composting than before.

  • We showed that the change of Ar to $N_2$flow during the TiN deposition by the reactive sputtering decides the crystallinity of LPCVD W, as well as the electrical properties of the W-TiN/SiO$_2$Si capacitor. In particular, the threshold voltage can be controlled by the Ar to $N_2$ratio. As compared to the results obtained from the LPCVD W/SiO$_2$/Si MOS capacitor, the insertion of approximately 50 nm TiN film effectively prohibits the fluorine diffusion during the deposition and annealing of W films, resulting in negligible leakage currents at the low electric fields.

N III Bowen Lines and Fluorescence Mechanism in the Symbiotic Star AG Peg

  • We have investigated the intensities and full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the high dispersion spectroscopic N III emission lines of AG Peg, observed with the Hamilton Echelle Spectrograph (HES) in three different epochs at Mt. Hamilton's Lick Observatory. The earlier theoretical Bowen line study assumed the continuum fluorescence effect, presenting a large discrepancy with the present data. Hence, we analyzed the observed N III lines assuming line fluorescence as the only suitable source: (1) The O III and N III resonance line profiles near ${\lambda}$ 374 were decomposed, using the Gaussian function, and the contributions from various O III line components were determined. (2) Based on the theoretical resonant N III intensities, the expected N III Bowen intensities were obtained to fit the observed values. Our study shows that the incoming line photon number ratio must be considered to balance at each N III Bowen line level in the ultraviolet radiation according to the observed lines in the optical zone. We also found that the average FWHM of the N III Bowen lines was about $5km{\cdot}s^{-1}$ greater than that of the O III Bowen lines, perhaps due to the inherently different kinematic characteristics of their emission zones.

  • In Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access(DS/CDMA) communication systems, it is important to contraol the power of reverse link channel evenly for overall channel capacity. To control the reverse link powers efficiently, it is necessary to estimate signal quality of each reverse link channel. In this paper, we discuss a method to estimate the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) for each channel by measuring the powers of pilot and noises. Computer simulations are done to show the effectiveness of the scheme.
