단분산린 Polyamide 6(Nylon 6) 미세입자의 제조 (Preparation of Mono-dispersed Polyamide 6(Nylon 6) Micro-particle)

  • 촉매인 potassium(K)을 2회 분할 투입하는 음이온 개환중합반응으로 ${\varepsilon}-caprolactam$을 분산매인 liquid paraffin 내에서 분간 중합하여 $4{\sim}7\;{\mu}m$의 직경을 가지는 단분산된 구형의 polyamide 6 (Nylon 6) micro-particle를 제조하였다. 융착 방지제의 농도, 촉매의 양, 개시제의 양에 따라 생성된 입자 크기, 형태, 그리고 분포의 변화를 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 개시제인 $PCl_3$의 양이 단량체의 $0.97{\sim}1.17\;wt%$일 때 약 90.6%의 수율을 얻었으며, 또한 촉매를 $1.3{\sim}1.4\;wt%$ 정도로 투입하였을 경우 가장 안정된 구형의 미세입자가 제조되고 높은 수율이 얻어짐을 알 수 있었다.

브롬화 에폭시 수지와 나일론 6의 상용성 및 블렌드 수지의 물성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Compatibility of Brominated Epoxy Resin with Nylon 6 and the Characterization of the Blends)

  • Nylon 6 was blended with a brominated epoxy resin, tetrabromobisphenol A diglycidyl ether (DGEBBA), to enhance flame retardant property. Thermal properties of the blends were analyzed by DSC. Melting point and crystallization temperature decreased as the amount of epoxy resin increased. Melt index and relative viscosity decreased as the amount of the epoxy resin increased. When the blended amount of the epoxy resin was below 5%, the melt index decreased while the relative viscosity slightly increased. The blend resin was successfully spun into fiber without swelling or drawing the resonance phenomena. However, both the tenacity and elongation of the fiber decreased by increasing the amount of the DGEBBA.

비결정 폴리아마이드에 대한 유기화합물의 흡착 특성 연구 (Sorption of Organic Penetrants by Amorphous Polyamide)

  • Sorption studies involving the sorption of n-propanol by an Amorphous Nylon(Nylon 6I/6T) were carried out as a function of sorbate vapor activity at $23^{\circ}C$. Vapor activity levels from 0.035 to 0.91 were investigated to evaluate the concentration dependency of sorption mechanism. Sorption behavior of propanol by Nylon 6I/6T showed distinctive two mode sorption phenomena as a function of Vapor activity. At Vapor activity levels below a=0.11, equilibrium sorption was achieved within a short period of time(less than 20hrs), which can be interpreted as following a Fickian diffusion model. A Langmuir-Flory-Muggins Dual Mode Sorption model can also be applied at these concentration levels. However, for Vapor activities above a=0.11, the sorption process appeared to be non-Fickian and resulted in a lack of equilibrium being attained.

  • Some of novel halogen-free, elastomeric flame retardants for nylon-6 have been developed. It is found that the S-ENP and clay have a synergistic flame retardant effect on nylon-6 resulted from the formation of two barriers on the nanocomposite residue surface at the end of combustion. A novel flame retardant ternary nanocomposite of nylon-6/ENP/nano-Magnesium hydroxide was also fabricated. The new ternary composite has better flame retardancy and thermal stability than the conventional one because nano-MH can disperse much more homogeneous in the new ternary composite than in the conventional one.

Nylon 6-Polyester 조성비에 따른 분할사의 알칼리 분해거동과 물성 변화 (The Mechanical Properties and Alkali Hydrolysis on Composition Ratio of Nylon 6-Polyester Split-type Yarn)

  • In this research, split-type complex yarn of 20:80, 40:60, 50:50 nylon6/polyester composition ratio was used in order to impose unique sense on split-type complex woven. After treating both split-type complex yarn of each ratio and its produced woven in alkali solution, we got the following results by checking physical properties based on alkali proportion and treatment time. Under the condition of NaOH 20% in this experiment, it took approximately double time 20% loss of weight. The loss of weight became high when polyester proportion of N/P(nylon6/polyester) composition ratio was low, in the same fineness yarn. Even though polyester proportion was low, the loss of weight was low when the fineness was high. N/P division was well processed at about 25% loss of weight under the condition of NaOH 20%, treatment temperature $50^{\circ}C$, and treatment time 60 minutes. The research provides that the loss of weight should be processed around treatment time 24 hours in the case of NaOH concentration 15%, and treatment time 15 hours in the case of NaOH concentration 18%, respectively, in order to achieve N/P woven division ratio of about 70%-80% in industrial fields.

Nylon 6/Polypropylene 블렌드의 충격특성 및 모폴로지 (Impact Characteristics and Morphology of Nylon 6/Polypropylene Blends)

  • Melt blends of maleic anhydride grafted polypropylerle(PP-g-MA) and Nylon 6 were prepared to study the influence of chemical reaction between the two polymer components. By adding the MA grafted polystyrene pold (ethylene/butadiene) and polystyrene[SEBS-g-MA] as the compatible modifiers to reinforce the impact resistance, the Izod impact strength, high rate impact strength and morphology were studied. The notched Izod impact strength increased with the content of PP-g-MA and SEBS- g-MA. The energy of high rate impact strength increased as the thickness of specimen increased, while, it increased as the specimen displacement decreased. In the morphology observed by SEM, finally, we confirmed the improvement of the compatibilization and interfacial adhesion with the content of SEBS-g-MA. The continuous phase of PP-g-MA was the main cause of the modified properties.

  • 고무 공기 스프링(rubber air spring)은 자동차, 철도차량 등 수송기기의 서스펜션 장치로 사용되고 있다. 고무 공기 스프링은 고무 에어백의 압축과 팽창을 통한 탄성효과로 스프링의 역할을 한다. 고무 공기 스프링의 주요 구성요소 중 하나가 고무 슬리브(rubber sleeve)이다. 고무 슬리브는 주요 구성성분인 클로로프렌 고무와 나일론 6 코드 간의 접착이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 첨가제의 영향을 고려한 고무 슬리브의 최적 배합조성과 조건을 찾기 위해 다양한 물성시험을 하였다. 또한, 보강섬유의 최적 배향을 선정하기 위해 유한요소해석법을 이용한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 고무 공기 스프링을 제조하여 실제 차량에 장착하여 기초물성과 피로수명 및 기밀성을 시험하였다.
