문제음주 대학생을 위한 자기결정성증진 절주프로그램 개발 및 효과 (Effectiveness of Drinking Reduction Program Focused on Self-Determination Enhancement for College Students with Problematic Drinking)

  • Purpose: This study examined the impact of a drinking reduction program on drinking motivation, drinking refusal self-efficacy, and problematic drinking behaviors in college students with problematic drinking habits. Methods: This study incorporated a non-equivalent control group prepost-test design. Study participants included 58 college students who scored 12 or more in the AUDIT-K test (Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test-Korean version) (experimental group: 30; control group: 28). The intervention consisted of eight sessions and was conducted once a week. It was designed to promote autonomy, competence, and relatedness-the three elements of basic psychological needs in self-determination theory. The participants were assessed before the intervention, immediately after, and four weeks post intervention. Data were collected from October 12 to December 31, 2017. The analysis employed the chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA using SPSS/WIN 22.0. Results: The mean age of participants was 21.8 years. There were 30 men (51.7%) and 28 women (48.3%). The differences in drinking motivation, drinking refusal self-efficacy, and problematic drinking behaviors were statistically significant for the group by time interaction (F = 42.56, p < .001; F = 54.96, p < .001; F = 39.90, p < .001, respectively). Conclusion: The findings indicate that the intervention effectively decreases drinking motivation, increases drinking refusal self-efficacy, and decreases problematic drinking behaviors. It can be an efficient strategy for college students with problematic drinking habits to enhance their self-determination ability.

전화추후관리 프로그램이 복막투석환자의 치료지속이행, 투석적절도와 감염발생도에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Telephone Follow-up Program on Patient Compliance, Urea Kinetic Modeling and Incidence of Infection in Patients with Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD))

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify the effects of a telephone follow-up program on patient compliance, urea kinetic modeling and incidence of infection in patients with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). Method: A pretest-posttest design with a nonequivalent control group was used to examine the effects of a telephone follow-up program for 12 weeks in a group of 39 CAPD patients. The telephone follow-up group of 17 patients received telephone follow-up 10 min once a week for 1 month and 10 min twice a month for 2 months during 12 weeks compared to control group of 22 who patients received usual care. Results: The telephone follow-up group showed no significant changes in patient compliance and urea kinetic modeling, although patients with CAPD receiving a telephone follow-up showed reduced incidence of exit site infection during the intervention compared with the control group. Conclusion: Telephone follow-up program for CAPD patients may decrease the incidence of exit site infection. Future studies with a larger sample be done utilizing diet and exercise reinforcement program combined with telephone follow-up as a nursing intervention for patients with CAPD.

고강도 집속 초음파 치료를 받는 자궁양성종양 환자의 동영상 교육프로그램 효과 (Effects of a video education program for patients with benign uterine tumors receiving high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a video education program in women receiving high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design. The participants were 54 patients who had benign uterine tumors and adenomyosis. The data were collected from June to August 2018. A 10-minute video education program on HIFU and post-procedural care was developed based on the literature. The experimental group was provided the video education program with a question-and-answer session for 10 minutes after viewing the video. The control group received usual care (i.e., verbal instructions on post-procedural self-care). The questionnaire survey was conducted twice: before the educational program and before being discharged from the hospital. Differences in uncertainty, emotions, and self-efficacy among patients were analyzed. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test, Shapiro-Wilk test, paired t-test, and t-test with SPSS version 23.0. Results: The participants in the experimental group showed a decrease in uncertainty (t=4.33, p<.001), improvements in anxiety (t=-4.07, p<.001) and depression (t=-3.55, p<.001), and an enhancement of self-efficacy (t=-4.39, p<.001) compared to the control group. Conclusion: This nursing intervention was effective at reducing uncertainty, improving emotions, and enhancing self-efficacy. This intervention is feasible for use in nursing practice as an aid for patients when considering treatment methods.

통풍 환자를 위한 웹기반 자가-관리 중재 프로그램이 통풍 관련 지식, 치료제 복용 순응도 및 자가-관리에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Gout Web based Self-management Program on Knowledge Related to Disease, Medication Adherence, and Self-management)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the changing patterns of knowledge related to disease, medication adherence, and self-management and to determine if outcomes were more favorable in the experimental group than in the comparison group through 6 months after providing a web-based self-management intervention. Methods: A non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design was used and 65 patients with gout, 34 in experimental group and 31 in comparison group, were selected from the rheumatic clinics of two university hospitals. Data were collected four times, at baseline, at 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after the intervention. Results: According to the study results, the changing patterns of knowledge and self-management were more positive in the experimental group than in the control group, whereas difference in the changing pattern of medication adherence between two groups was not significant. Conclusion: The results indicate that the web-based self-management program has significant effect on improving knowledge and self-management for middle aged male patients with gout. However, in order to enhance medication adherence, the web-based intervention might not be sufficient and other strategies need to be added.

영아기 모-자녀 상호작용 중재프로그램 효과 연구 - 영아 신호 민감성 증진을 중심으로 - (Effects of Mother-Infant Interaction Intervention Program : Enhancing Mother's Sensitivity to Infant Cues)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a mother-infant interaction intervention program based on enhancing sensitivity to infant cues. Subjects were 9 infants, 3-26 months of age and their mothers, 6 Korean, 2 Mongolian and 1 North Korean. The intervention program was based on the Nursing Child Assessment Satellite Training model(NCAST; Barnard, 1994); data were analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney Test. Results were that the interaction score and infant caring confidence score of the intervention group was higher than the non-intervention group. Mother's sensitive responses to infant cues enhanced the degree of mother-infant interaction.

방문간호사의 자살예방 역량강화를 위한 프로그램 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Suicide Prevention Nursing Competency Programs for Visiting Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a suicide prevention nursing competency program for visiting nurses, and to examine the effect of this program on suicide prevention-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Methods: A total of 66 visiting nurses were recruited from 10 public health centers and divided equally into the experimental and control group. For the experimental group, the suicide prevention nursing competency program was provided twice a week for 120 minutes across 3 weeks. Participants were asked questions related to suicide prevention knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors at pre, post, and 1 month after the intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a t-test, repeated measure ANOVA, and Friedman test. Results: There were significant differences in knowledge and behaviors at the measured time periods, and significant differences in attitudes and behaviors between the two groups. There were also significant interactions between groups and times in attitudes and behaviors. These results suggest that the effects of the program were persistent until the 1-month follow-up. Conclusion: The developed suicide prevention nursing competency program is effective in evidence-based education for visiting nurses to increase suicide prevention-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.

지역사회 노인 자원봉사자를 활용한 독거노인 건강지킴이 프로그램이 독거노인의 건강상태와 사회적 지지 만족도에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Volunteer-Run Peer Support Program on Health and Satisfaction with Social Support of Older Adults Living Alone)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to evaluate effectiveness of a peer support program conducted by older community volunteers for older adults living alone. Methods: Thirty volunteers trained as peer supporters were matched with low-income, older adults living alone in the community on gender. Visits occurred on a weekly basis over the 12 month study period, and the volunteers provided peer support for health management to solitary older adults. Data were collected, before the start of the program and again 6 and 12 months after its initialization, from intervention and control groups regarding physical health, general health, mental health, depression, social functioning, and satisfaction with social support. Repeated measures ANOVA was used to analyze data. Results: By the end of the program, socially isolated older adults in the intervention group had significantly higher scores in physical health and general health than elders in the control group. Significant interaction effects between time and group were found for depression, social functioning, and satisfaction with social support. Conclusion: The peer support program undertaken by older community volunteers was effective in improving physical health, general health, depression, social functioning, and satisfaction with social support in socially isolated, low-income, older adults.

시설노인의 수분 섭취 강화 프로그램의 효과분석 (The Effect of Fluid Intake Enhancing Program for Institutionalized Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 시설노인을 위한 수분 섭취 강화 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하여 그 효과를 평가하고자 수행되었다. 자료 수집은 충청지역에 위치한 일개 노인요양시설에 거주하는 39명의 노인을 대상으로 하였으며 프로그램 적용 전, 4주후, 6주후의 연속 3일 측정한 수분 섭취량의 평균, 소변색, 요비중의 평균, 요비중이 탈수 내지 임박한 탈수의 범위에 속하는 대상자의 비율을 비교하였다. 수분 섭취 강화 프로그램 적용 전 1일 평균 수분 섭취량은 프로그램 적용 4주후, 6주후에 통계적으로 유의한 증가를 나타냈다. 1일 수분 충분섭취량인 1,100mL 미만을 섭취한 대상자의 비율은 프로그램 적용 전에 비해 4주, 6주후에 감소하였다. 요비중이 임박한 탈수 혹은 탈수의 범위에 속하는 대상자 비율은 중재 전 보다 중재 4주후에 감소하였으나 6주후 증가하였고 요비중의 평균은 프로그램 적용 4주후, 6주후에 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 소변색은 중재 전, 후 모두 정상범위를 나타내었다. 본 연구의 결과는 시설노인 수분 섭취 강화프로그램은 노인의 수분 섭취를 증진하는데 기여할 수 있는 가능성을 시사하며 추후 임상에서의 적용을 위하여 해결해야 할 문제점들을 논의하였다.

간호사의 '영적간호모듈' 간호교육프로그램의 적용 효과 (Effect of The Spiritual Care Module Education Program for Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was to verify the effects of spiritual care module education programs by applying it to nurses. Method: The study employed a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design in a quasi-experimental basis. Subjects were 93 nurses (46 in an experimental group and 47 in a control group) with more than two years clinic experience, attending a bachelor program of K University, in I city, Korea. The program consists of courses with 2.5 hours per week for seven weeks. Result: Scores of spiritual needs and spiritual nursing competence increased significantly in the experimental group. The score of spirituality and spiritual well-being also increased in the experimental group, but not significantly. Conclusion: The spiritual care module education program was considered to be an effective nursing intervention education course. Nurses educated with this program seemed to perform better nursing interventions for subjects facing difficulties or confusion by helping them restore and cope with those problems by themselves. Therefore, it is recommended that spiritual care module education should be settled as a regular course of nursing college with consideration to the corrections and supplements mentioned in this study.

간호대학생을 위한 공감교육 프로그램이 공감능력, 대인관계 능력 및 돌봄에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of an Empathy Education Program on Nursing Students' Empathy Ability, Interpersonal Ability, and Caring)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effects of an empathy education program for undergraduate nursing students. Methods: The study employed a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 46 nursing students were voluntarily recruited by convenience sampling from senior nursing students from the nursing department of K college in I city, Korea. Participants were divided into two groups, an experimental group of 23 and a control group of 23. The experimental intervention (empathy education program) was conducted from April 19 to May 6, 2016 and consisted of 150-minute sessions, twice a week, for 3 weeks for a total of 15 hours. Results: Participants demonstrated improvements in perspective taking in cognitive empathy, improved empathic concern in emotional empathy, and improved communicative empathy. Analysis of reflective writings identified four theme clusters regarding communicative empathy: improvement of empathic expression, experiencing comfort and healing, improvement of interpersonal relationships, and experience of conflict resolution. Improved interpersonal ability and caring were also identified. Conclusion: The empathy education program improved cognitive, emotional and communicative empathy, and interpersonal skills and care, which are all necessary qualities for nurses.
