대학생들의 성교육 경험에 관한 내용분석 (Content Analysis of the Experiences and the Unmet Needs for Sex Education of University Students During their Primary and Secondary Education)

  • The purpose of the study was to analyze the experiences of and the unmet needs for sex education of university students during their primary and secondary education. Development and refinement strategies of the sex education curriculum were constructed using the words of university students. The study was conducted during the second trimester of 1998 and the first trimester of 1999. and 356 male and female students were asked to submit weekly descriptive reports on the proposed issues related to sex education. The data were collected and analyzed by the researcher to present and summarize the in-depth meanings . The results were as follows: 1) The problems of the present sex education of primary and secondary education curriculum : it was revealed as too superficial and conventional: it brought about adverse effects because it was not efficient: also it was insufficient and not appropriate to the level of the students. The erroneous stereotypes of our society towards the sexuality act as barriers to effective sex education. 2) The abstract needs for sex education revealed on the analysis of adjectives used by the students were: 'honest, interesting, easy, useful, and correct' 3) The concrete needs for the sex education were: correct understanding of sexuality, establishment of the right sense of values towards sexuality, understanding of male and female sex psychology, knowledge of solutions for sexual problems 4) The developmental strategies for the sex education curriculum were structural, comprehensive, broad, and sufficient education content, concrete and honest explanations about sexuality : provision of early sex education; sex education provided by the parents ; establishment of an open environment for the sex education, graded education reflecting the developmental stages of the youngsters ; up-to-date sex education; preservation of the perspectives of the youngsters; provision of the same sex education opportunities for both girls and boys; practical use of audiovisual aides; open discussion; development of novel education methods like field trips 5) The change of knowledge, attitudes, and values towards sexuality after finishing the sex education course were: establishment of right sense of value towards sexuality ; reconfirmation of the concepts and value for life; belief of the necessity of sex education; change of attitudes towards womanhood; reinforcement of the self-conceit, consolidation of filial piety; and acquisition of the practical knowledge.

간호대학생에게 적용한 노인환자 유사체험에 관한 연구 (A Study on Nursing Students' Elderly Patient Simulation Experience)

  • 본 연구는 충청북도 소재 일개 대학교 간호학과에 재학 중인 2학년 학생 88명(실험군: 47명, 대조군: 41명)을 대상으로 노인환자 유사체험의 효과를 검정하기 위해 수행되었으며 결과변수로는 노인 및 노인환자에 대한 태도와 공감 정도가 측정되었다. 연구 결과 노인환자 유사체험은 간호대학생의 노인 및 노인환자에 대한 태도에는 유의한 효과를 미치지 못하였으나 공감 수준을 향상시키는데 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 대상자들은 노인환자 유사체험에 대한 제한점으로 1회성의 단편적 경험, 노화에 대한 불안감 야기, 체험복장의 현실감 부족, 체험 과정 중의 사고 위험성 등을 제시하였고 이러한 제한점이 유사체험의 긍정적 효과를 약화시킬 수 있는 것으로 제기되었다. 따라서 이러한 제한점들을 고려하여 중재 프로그램을 개선하여 제공한다면 중재가 간호 대학생들의 노인환자에 대한 긍정적 태도와 공감적 이해증진으로 이어지는데 크게 기여할 것으로 판단되었다.

Knowledge and Opinions Regarding Oral Cancer among Yemeni Dental Students

  • Background: Oral cancer presents with high mortality rates, and the likelihood of survival is remarkably superior when detected early. Health care providers, particularly dentists, play a critical role in early detection of oral cancers and should be knowledgeable and skillful in oral cancer diagnosis. Purpose: The aim of the present study was to assess the current knowledge of future Yemeni dentists and their opinions on oral cancer. Materials and Methods: A pretested self-administered questionnaire was distributed to fourth and fifth year dental students. Questions relating to knowledge of oral cancer, risk factors, and opinions on oral cancer prevention and practices were posed. Results: The response rate was 80%. The vast majority of students identified smoking and smokeless tobacco as the major risk factors for oral cancer. Most of the students (92.6%) knew that squamous cell carcinoma is the most common form of oral cancer, and 85.3% were aware that tongue and floor of the mouth are the most likely sites. While the majority showed willingness to advise their patients on risk factors, only 40% felt adequately trained to provide such advice. More than 85% of students admitted that they need further information regarding oral cancer. As expected, students of the final year appeared slightly more knowledgeable regarding risk factors and clinical features of the disease. Conclusions: The findings of the present study suggest that here is a need to reinforce the undergraduate dental curriculum with regards to oral cancer education, particularly in its prevention and early detection.

모유수유에 관한 의사, 간호사의 신념 및 태도조사 (Breastfeeding Belief and Attitudes of Physicians and Nurses)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate belief and attitudes on breastfeeding of physicians and nurses. A questionnaire was mailed to obstetricians, pediatricians and nurses at the department of pediatrics or obstetrics of university hospital and private hospital in Seoul and Choong-Chung Province) in South Korea. Total numbers of study subjects were 346 (pediatrician 67, obstetrician 41, nurse 238). The results were as follows : 1. The main reasons not to educate breast feeding in the hospitals were a lack of interest of the health professionals, a lack of educators and education programs. 2. The respondents thought that the best ways for lactating mother to get advices about breastfeeding during the first month were to give a call to health professionals in the hospitals where she had been delivered, or call to relatives or friends. 3. Breastfeeding attitudes of physicians and nurses did not differ according to gender, job, or type of the hospitals they work. 4. Breastfeeding attitudes were related with personal breastfeeding experience, breastfeeding knowledge, extracurricular education experience, encouragement experience. Physicians and nurses should give appropriate advices and support to lactating mothers to increase breastfeeding rate. They were, however, ill-prepared to counsel breastfeeding mothers. Therefore, it is necessary to instruct breastfeeding in the curriculum of the medical and nursing schools, and incorporate clinically based breastfeeding training into continuing education workshops. Improved breastfeeding education is a critical step in ensuring that health professionals are adequately prepared for this important role.

남녀 대학생의 성 이미지와 성 역할 인식의 차이 (Perceptional Difference of Sexual Image and Sexual Role between Male and Female Students in University, Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the perceptional difference of sexual image and sexual role between male and female students at the university level.. Questionnaires were collected from 418 students of H University in Kangwon-do, Korea from September to December 1999. The research tools were Sexual Image(Joo,1996, Cronbach's $\alpha$=.83) and Sexual Role (Chang,1989, Cronbach's $\alpha$=.93). Data were analyzed by SPSS-PC. The results of this study were as follows: According to factors of sexual image, the average score of sexual attitude was 3.06, that of sexual evaluation was 2.41, and that of sexual curiosity was 2.18, therefore university students had a high degree of curiosity but also had a relatively more exclusive image related to sexuality; there was a significant difference in sexual image between male and female students (t=10.99, p=0.010), male students were perceived to have a higher sexual curiosity and more positive sexual image than female students; the average score of sexual role was 2.21, that appeared to be a moderately progressive tendency; there was a significant difference in sexual role between male and female students (t=260.46, p=0.000), female students were apt to be more progressive in sexual role than male students. According to the above results, curriculum development and the application of at university would be necessary to develop and apply some liberal courses and workshop programs so that students and professors could prepare to identify ideal sexual roles and sexual images.

생명의료윤리의식과 인체조직 기증 및 이식에 대한 태도 (A Study on the consciousness of Biomedical ethics, Attitudes Human tissue donation and transplantation)

  • 본 연구 목적은 간호대학생과 일반대학생의 생명의료윤리의식과 인체조직 기증 및 이식에 대한 태도를 파악하고자 시도하였다. 연구대상자는 2개 대학교의 재학생 521명을 대상으로 2016년 5월 1일 부터 6월 10일 까지 실시하였다. 연구결과는 생명의료윤리의식은 4점 만점에 간호학과 학생들이 2.16점, 일반 대학생들의 2.01점 보다 높았고 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(t=4.671, p=.000). 인체조직기증 및 이식은 5점 만점에 간호학과 학생들이 2.52점, 일반대학생들이 2.50으로 나타났으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 일반적 특성에 따른 생명의료윤리의식은 간호학과 학생들은 연령, 학년, 임상실습, 동아리 활동, 가족 중 이식경험이 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내었으며, 일반대학생들은 나이, 임상실습, 종교에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이상의 결과로 바람직한 윤리관 확립을 위한 교과과정의 개발과 방향을 탐색하여 생명의료윤리의식을 높이는 체계적인 교육프로그램이 필요함을 제언한다.

일 지역 초등학생의 성문제 행동 (The Sexual Problem Behavior of the Primary School Students in a Region)

  • Purpose: This study was executed to investigate the route of the sexual knowledge acquisition and the sexual problem behavior of primary school students in a region. Method: The subjects of this research who were primary school 5, 6 grade students of 990 people were chosen at random in big cities, small towns and rural areas in Jeonbuk province. Result: The route of the sexual knowledge acquisition was through taking lesson & teacher in the school(40.6%), the peer group or senior member(26.1%), internet(15.3%), parents(10.0%), and multimedia(8.0%). The domain of the sexual problem behavior showed sexual impulse 3.8%, sexual violence 3.7%, masturbation 2.7%, voyeur 1.8%, prostitution 0.8%, transvestism 0.5%, exhibitionism 0.1%. The sexual problem behavior experienced by 5.0% or more of the subjects showed the experience of another person's compulsory touching on their body, the embrace desire and the kiss desire with opposite sexual friend. And the biggest sexual problem behavior of the subjects was sexual violence and sexual impulse to opposite sexual friend. The experience rate of the 6 grade was higher than that of the 5 grade (p<.05) and the male students' experience rate of another person's compulsory touching on their body showed higher than that of the female students(p<.05). Conclusion: The author through these findings suggests that systematic programs and curriculum should be developed for sexual problem behavior prevention.

요양보호사 교육생을 위한 기본심폐소생술 교육프로그램 개발 및 효과 (Development and effects of basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation education program for trainee care workers)

  • Purpose: This study set out to use a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design to develop a highly motivating CPR program for help care workers who lack CPR education, and to evaluate its effects on their knowledge about program application, attitude, and self-efficacy. Methods: For this purpose, 140 questionnaires were administered to subjects who underwent training at an educational institution for care workers in S city and G province. The program was developed from April, 25 to May, 15 in 2016, and the evaluation period was from May to July, 15. The collected data were analyzed through SPSS version 23, and a paired t-test was conducted. Results: The program spanned 240 minutes, including 80 minutes on theoretical education and 160 minutes on practical education. Knowledge of CPR in the post-test proved to be higher than that in the pre-test, from 6.4 to 9.2 (t=-15.72, p<.001),; the score on attitude increased from 38.4 to 41.7 (t=-5.89, p<.001),; and self-efficacy increased from 41.0 to 66.7 (t=-21.83, p<.001). Conclusion: The basic CPR education program emphasizing motivation was effective for the care worker trainees and could be used for other curriculum by expanding the scope of the subject.

대학생의 감사성향과 주관적 안녕감이 스트레스 대처에 미치는 영향의 융복합적 연구 (A Convergence Study of the Influence of Grateful disposition and Subjective well-being on Stress coping of College students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생들의 감사성향과 주관적 안녕감이 스트레스 대처에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 시도하였다. 간호학과와 비간호과 학생 336명으로, 통계자료는 t-test, Pearson Correlation, Multiple regression으로 분석하였다. 간호학과 학생들이 비간호과 학생에 비하여 감사성향, 생활만족도, 적극적 스트레스 대처에 유의한 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 2학년이 1학년보다 감사성향, 주관적 행복감, 스트레스 대처에 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 감사성향은 주관적 안녕감, 스트레스 대처와 강한 상관관계를 나타내었다. 스트레스 대처에 주 영향 요인은 정적 정서와 감사성향으로 나타났다. 따라서 대학생들의 스트레스 대처능력을 향상시키기 위해서 교육과정이나 교과 외 활동 등 다양한 방법을 통하여 주관적 안녕감과 감사성향을 높여줄 수 있는 방안의 강화가 필요하다.

간호학과 졸업예정자의 좋은 죽음에 대한 인식, 호스피스 완화의료 지식 및 인식 (Perception of Good Death, Knowledge and Perception of Hospice Palliative Care among The Nursing Graduates)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 간호학과 졸업예정자의 좋은 죽음에 대한 인식, 호스피스 완화의료 지식 및 인식을 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 연구대상자는 전국 권역별 8개 대학교의 간호학과 4학년 241명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구결과 좋은 죽음에 대한 인식은 호스피스 완화의료 인식과, 호스피스 완화의료 지식은 호스피스 완화의료 인식과 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 좋은 죽음에 대한 인식은 4점 만점에 평균 3.28점이었고 하위영역별 수준은 친밀감 3.53점, 통제감 3.14점, 임상증상 2.89점으로 나타났다. 호스피스 완화의료 지식은 20점 만점에 9.24점이었으며, 호스피스 완화의료 인식은 5점 만점에 평균 4.07점이었으며, 목적은 4.49점, 필요성은 3.79점이었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 좋은 죽음과 호스피스 완화의료 지식 및 인식을 높일 수 있는 교과과정의 개선이 필요하며, 역할극, 시뮬레이션, 토론 수업 등 다양한 수업방법 및 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다.
