Purpose: This study was to construct a useful nursing language system on military nursing field. Method: Military hospital nursing records were analyzed using NANDA(North American Nursing Diagnosis Association), NIC(Nursing Interventions Classification), and NOC(Nursing Outcomes Classification) systems. All kinds of nursing statements from 80 sets of orthopedics inpatient's records were deduced. All nursing statements were mapped to 167 NANDA diagnoses, 433 NIC interventions, and 260 NOC outcomes. Result: 14,744 nursing statements were extracted. Among the extracted nursing statements, 11.75% were linked with NANDA diagnosis, 83.62% were connected with NIC intervention, and 0.96% was tied to NOC outcome. 3.66% of nursing statements were not linked with NANDA-NIC-NOC system. In the nursing statements, 18 diagnoses of NANDA, 63 interventions of NIC, 8 outcomes of NOC were used. Conclusions: The majority of those nursing statements focused on nursing intervention of the nursing process; few nursing plans or goals were found in nursing records. Therefore, it's difficult to make the nursing process network with the nursing statements. Documenting nursing records using a nursing process will contribute to strengthen nursing practice in patient care and to develop nursing as science. Continuous further researches related to nursing records are needed to provide basic data for developing nursing language system and nursing record system.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to classify the elderly in long-term care facilities using the Resource Utilization Group(RUG-III) and to examine the feasibility of a payment method based on the RUG-III classification system in Korea. Method: This study measured resident characteristics using a Resident Assessment Instrument-Minimum Data Set(RAI-MDS) and staff time. Data was collected from 530 elderly residents over sixty, residing in long-term care facilities. Resource use for individual patients was measured by a wage-weighted sum of staff time and the total time spent with the patient by nurses, aides, and physiotherapists. Result: The subjects were classified into 4 groups out of 7 major groups. The group of Clinically Complex was the largest (46.3%), and then Reduced Physical Function(27.2%), Behavior Problems (17.0%), and Impaired Cognition (9.4%) followed. Homogeneity of the RUG-III groups was examined by total coefficient of variation of resource use. The results showed homogeneity of resource use within RUG-III groups. Also, the difference in resource use among RUG major groups was statistically significant (p<0.001), and it also showed a hierarchy pattern as resource use increases in the same RUG group with an increase of severity levels(ADL). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the RUG-Ill classification system differentiates resources provided to elderly in long-term care facilities in Korea.
It is urgently needed to develop programs supporting lifelong education for nurses and students of nursing, which are not restricted by time or space and use personal computers or smartphone. The purpose of this study is to develop CCC(Clinical Care Classification) System into a education program and provides guideline to support clinical tasks for students of nursing. Comparing the search times of the book guideline and the web guideline developed, this study found that it was over 3.5 times faster. And its error rate was over four times lower. This result shows that it can provide accurate intervention for patients since it approaches to intervention and evaluation guideline fast and precisely in the actual tasks of nursing.

This study was done to evaluate patient satisfaction with nursing care. The study subjucts were 164 patients admitted in a general hospital in Incheon province. The instrument used in this study was developed by Risser (1975) and Lim Hae Kyoung (1980) based on classification of nursing care area and modified by Chow Kwang Nam (1995). The relaiability alpha of this tool was 0.93695. The survey method was applied to collect data and the period of data collection was total 30 days from April Ist to April 30th in 1997. The data was analyzed by statistical method of %, mean, t-test and ANOVA through SAS program. 1. The highest scores of satisfaction were shown in the area of reliance, area of treatment, area of environment and area of education in order. 2. The crossed analysis of patient general characteristics and satisfaction of nursing care showed a signficance in the department of patient's admission and the highest satisfaction score was found in the general surgery ward (p<0.05). 3. General characteristics of patients which influence on the satisfaction showed a significant response according to the department of patient's admission in the treatment area, education area and environment area of nursing.(p < 0.05). Recommendation The followings are deriven from the above study results. 1. Area of nursing education which showed the lowest satisfaction should be empathized by making improvement of nursing care approach because the area in the basis to achieve nursing goal. 2. The development of systematic and objective instrument is necessary for evaluation of nursing quality and the evaluation should be performed in the area of patient satisfaction, hospital facility and hospital environment as well.
This study is a descriptive study to investigate the presenteeism of nursing in long-term care hospital and general hospital. Data collection was conducted from October 01, 2019 to December 30, 2019. 74 nursing in long-term care hospital and 75 nursing in general hospital in this study. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Win 21.0 program. Long-term care hospital nurses perceived higher health problems, job loss and perceiver productivity than general hospital nurses. This shows that there is no difference in work intensity according to the classification of patients in long-term care hospitals and general hospital nurses. In order to improve the quality of nursing care services in long-term care hospitals, it is necessary to manage the organizational aspects of long-term care hospital nurses' presenteeism.

We need to continuously evaluate for nursing quality and the outcome to reflect nursing, to repair and improve of nursing. The first problem for nursing quality improvement is development of evaluation tool for the quality of nursing care. We need a system for quality assurance evaluation that is, development and framework of evaluation tool for nursing care quality. The purpose of this study was attempted to develop an evaluation tool for the quality of nursing care in musculoskeletal disorder patients. The approach method of nursing quality for the development of the tool in this study was process evaluation framework. The study were devided dvelopment process and reliability, validity verification process. The subjects of development process of this tool are three nursing export groups, and the subject of reliability, validity verification process are 20 samples of two university hospital in seoul, who were within discharge 3 months after admission treatment in musculo-skeletal disorder. Data for this study was collected from March 10 to April 13, 1995. The development process of the tool were as follows : 1. Make preliminary list of the tool by focal group were constituted 12 clinical nurses. 2. Modify and add preliminary list by 4 nursing expert panel. 3. Calculate content validity of the tool by 25 nursing expert panel of judge. 4. Verify reliability and validity of the tool. 5. Finalize an evaluation tool for the quality of the nursing care in musculo-skeletal disorder. The results of this study were as follows : 1) Development an evaluation tool for the quality of nursing care in musculo-skeletal disorder. (1) The evalution tool of this study was developed 5 standards, 33 criterias and 133 indicators. (2) 5 standards were divided according to Nursing Process. from standard 1 to standard 5, involved criterias were each 6(18%), 3(9%), 3(9%), 15(46%), 6(18%). 2) Verify reliability and validity of the tool. (1) Score of adequate degree for content validity of 33 criterias and 133 indicators were every average 2.82. (2) Inter-rater reliabilities(consentaneity score) of the tool by pearson correlation coefficient between three raters were : r=.7506, r=.8934, r=.6695. and Inter-rater reliabilities by single-facet crossed design were : r=.7464. (3) The alpha coefficient relating to internal consistency was .8524 over all 30 items of 33 criterias of developed tool. (4) Score of the quality of nursing care following to generaal characteristics of this study subjects were stastically significant differences according to educational level (F=2.93, p=.029)and diagnosing classification (F=2.50, p=.042). Through this study, I'm sure that the developed tool for the quality of patient care in musculo-skeletal disorder will show the way of more improvement of the quality of nursing care and effective nursing interventions.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify critical indicators for the development of efficient patient classification system in a emergency room. Method: This study involved following five steps. Step 1. Selection of the lists direct nursing services in the ER. Step 2. Measurement of the time of direct nursing services from Aug. 31st to Nov. 30th, 2005. Step 3. Classification of the patients according to the nursing care time. Step 4. The determination the critical indicators for different patient classes. Result: Determinate indicators were as follow: 3 items in the first group (vital sign checking, IV route starting, blood sampling), 3 items in the second group (vital sign checking, fluid infusion, blood sampling), 9 items in the third group (I/O checking, $O_{2}$ inhalation, suction, fluid infusion, IV bolus, Central catheter preparation & management, blood sampling, intubation preparation & management, postmortem management), 7 items in the fourth group (EKG monitoring, BP monitoring, $O_{2}$ inhalation, fluid infusion, using the specific drugs, CPR, postmortem management). Conclusion: This study can help future studies which measure nursing services standard time or assigns value to emergency nursing services.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to reclassify the advanced nursing practices of critical care nurse practitioners(CCNPs) in intensive care unit and measure the time and frequency of CCNP's activities. Method: Practices of ICU nurses are divided into RN's and CCNP's practices by a panel of ICU nursing experts. Each practice of CCNP is defined and CCNP's working time and service frequencies are monitored in general hospitals. Result: Practices of CCNP were classified into 4 domains and 32 practices. Fourteen practices by CCNPs were completed in 10 minutes and the other 12 practices consumed 10-30 minutes. A priority of practice in respiratory therapy was given to artificial airway management, management of tracheostomy patient, lower respiratory care, and the priority of CRRT was management of anticoagulation. Conclusions: Advanced nursing practices of CCNPs were recognized from those of RNs. A further research of CCNPs practices should be extended to other advanced practices and it is required to evaluate economic value of advanced nursing practice in the national health insurance system.
The purpose of this research was to identify nursing interventions performed by hospital nurses in Korea. The sample consisted of 311 nurses working in three hospitals. The Nursing Interventions Use Questionnaire developed by the Iowa Intervention Project team was used for data collection. The instrument was translated to Korean using the method of back-translation. Eighteen interventions were performed at least daily. Interventions in the Physiological : Basic domain were most frequently used at least daily. No interventions in the Family and Behavioral domains were used by nurses at least once a day. The most frequently used interventions was Documentation, followed by the interventions Medication : Parenteral, Intravenous(IV) Insertion, Temperature Control, and Shift Report. The intervention performed least often was Reproductive Technology Management. Nurses working in intensive care units on the whole performed interventions most often, while nurses working in obstetric, gynecological, and pediatric units performed them least often. The nurses working in intensive care unit, medical and surgical care units performed the interventions in the Physiological : Basic domain more often than the nurses working in obstetric, gynecological, and pediatric units. The nurses working in obstetric, gynecological, and pediatric units used the interventions in the Family domain more often than the nurses working in the other three units. This study contributes to the documentation of nursrs' work in Korea. Further study will be needed to validate nursing activities of each NIC intervention.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to establish reliability and validity and to identify the conversion index. Method: The WMSCN for ICU was revised from Workload Management System for Nurses(WMSN) of Walter Reed Army Hospital. Reliability of the WMSCN was evaluated interrater reliability between head nurses and staff nurses at 124 patients in April 2008. Validity through the correlation between direct nursing care hours and WMSCN score was conducted at 20 ICUs of 10 hospitals. Finally the conversion index was identified by total nursing hours and it divided by WMSCN score. Results: The scores by nurses were highly correlated with head nurses’(p=.967), and also scores of the WMSCN were highly correlated with the direct nursing care hours(p<.001). The distribution of patient classification ranks into class V(61.3%), class IV(24.2%) and class VI(11.3%). The scores of the WMSCN were no differences between MICU and SICU. Finally, the conversion index was 8.2 minutes. Conclusion: WMSCN is available to classify the nursing workload for critical care patients. The repeated evaluation of validity and reliability are requisite to use WMSCN effectively. And the conversion index should be adjusted to estimate the appropriate staffing in Korea.
