Physiological Characteristics and Seedling Growth Patterns of Neem (Azadirachta indica A. Juss) under Different Soil Conditions

  • The study of germination and seedling growth characteristics of Neem under different soil and environment conditions was undertaken. The seed germination started 8 days after sowing in commercial bed soil, whereas, delayed germination was observed in sandy-loam (15 days) and sandy (19 days) soil. The highest germination (73.33%) was observed in commercial bed soil in green house, whereas, the lowest germination was observed in sandy soil (16.67%) and sandy-loam soil (8.33%). The seeds in the open field (sandy soil) also showed poor (10%) germination. The mean number of germination seed/day (GD) and seed germination vigor rate (GV) both were highest in the commercial bed soil with 0.733% and 16.67% respectively in the green house, whereas sandy and sandy-loam soil in green house and open field (sandy soil) all showed much lower GD and GV values. The seedling characteristics of nursery revealed that the seedling grown in the growth chamber in commercial bed soil was significantly higher in all the parameters comparing to others grown in green house and open field. The growth was nearly 7 fold in the chamber compared to that of the green house nursery observed in three months old seedlings. Likewise, HPLC analysis revealed that the green house grown seedling contain higher quantity of pigments compare to the chamber grown seedlings. Among the soils used the commercial soil alone or in combination with sandy and sandy-loam soil in the ratio of 2:1:1 respectively with the temperature of $27{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ showed better for Neem nursery preparation.

유아의 상상놀이 (Imaginative Play)와 놀이감에 관한 연구 (A Study on Preschool Child's Imaginative Play and Play Materials)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine preschool children's participation tendency and use of play materials in imaginative play. The subjects for the study included 22 boys and girls in nursery school. These children were observed for 110-3-minutes of play behavior during free play at nursery school, especially in block area and housekeeping area. The results obtained from the study were as follows. 1. There was a significant association between paricipation tendency in imaginative play and age or sex, Boys engaged in more social imaginative play than girls, and four-year-olds engaged in more social imaginative play than three-year-olds. 2. There was sex difference in the content of imaginative play and use of play materials. That is, boys usually chose masculine kinds of toys such as block, cars, trucks, and manipulative materials. And the boys' common fantasies were about car, robert and fighting. Girls usually chose play dough, kitchen sets, and blocks and there were maines stories of family life and cooking. 3. Children preferred to use more realistic toys in imaginative plays and there were few cases of imaginative plays with no materials.

유아교육기관교사의 자기효능감, 통제위 및 구강질병관리신념과의 관련요인 (Related factor of oral health promotion activities, self-efficacy and oral disease control and beliefs of nursery teacher)

  • Objectives : This study is to grasp the efficacy, locus of control, oral disease management beliefs, etc and to make a close inquiry the relevance between theses key figures and oral health promotion practice for a teacher and oral care about children and to provide the basic materials of oral health education for the teachers of infant nursery. Methods : This study was made from July to September in 2009 to nursery teacher by having the self-report questionnaire for teachers of infant nursery who are performing nursry school tearcher. Total 187 questionnaire were distributed and among these, 167 questionnaire excluding 20 questionnaire of incomplete responses were statistically analyzed with SPSS12.0. Results : The efficacy is highly in a married person(p=0.001) according to the teacher's age(P=0.006), perceived good oral status(p=0.001) according to the oral conditions and has the significant difference. The internal locus of control is highly in a married person(p=0.006) according to the teacher's age(P=0.037) and the marital status and has the significant difference statistically. The external locus of control is the highest(p=0.038) in the age of 40 among teacher's age and has the significant difference statistically. The oral disease management beliefs is the highest in the age of 20 ~ 29(p=0.001), highly in married(p=0.003) and has the significant difference according to the marital status and perceived good oral status(p=0.045) according to the oral conditions. There has no significant difference in the efficacy, the internal locus of control, the external Lotus of Control, oral disease management beliefs following by the infant oral care after taking medicines and oral care of infants after tooth brushing. Conclusions : Therefore, the oral health promotion activities should be induced by educating the nursery teacher and it needs to spread out the oral care education with the development to operate practically. It is considered in need of the infant oral care which is not burden on to the nursery teacher but helpful to the infant by connecting the subjects of dental hygiene and oral health education training.

Effectiveness of Repeated Examination to Diagnose Enterobiasis in Nursery School Groups

  • The aim of this study was to estimate the benefit from repeated examinations in the diagnosis of enterobiasis in nursery school groups, and to test the effectiveness of individual-based risk predictions using different methods. A total of 604 children were examined using double, and 96 using triple, anal swab examinations. The questionnaires for parents, structured observations, and interviews with supervisors were used to identify factors of possible infection risk. In order to model the risk of enterobiasis at individual level, a similarity-based machine learning and prediction software Constud was compared with data mining methods in the Statistica 8 Data Miner software package. Prevalence according to a single examination was 22.5%; the increase as a result of double examinations was 8.2%. Single swabs resulted in an estimated prevalence of 20.1% among children examined 3 times; double swabs increased this by 10.1%, and triple swabs by 7.3%. Random forest classification, boosting classification trees, and Constud correctly predicted about 2/3 of the results of the second examination. Constud estimated a mean prevalence of 31.5% in groups. Constud was able to yield the highest overall fit of individual-based predictions while boosting classification tree and random forest models were more effective in recognizing Enterobius positive persons. As a rule, the actual prevalence of enterobiasis is higher than indicated by a single examination. We suggest using either the values of the mean increase in prevalence after double examinations compared to single examinations or group estimations deduced from individual-level modelled risk predictions.

유아원 아동의 창의력과 수학개념의 성취에 대한 개방수업방식과 지시수업방식의 비교 (A Comparison of open and Directed Teaching Styles on Creativity and Achievement in Mathematical Concepts of Nursery School Chidren)

  • This study compared the effects of open and directed teaching styles on creativity and mathematical achievement. The subjects were 32 three- and four-year-old children enrolled in the Home Economics Laboratory Nursery School at the University of Arkansas during the fall semester of 1987. In this study, the open teaching style was a child-oriented method of teaching with the help or guidance rather than the actual instruction of teacher, while the directed teaching style was a teacher-oriented method of teaching with actual instruction of the teacher. Forty-eight activities and materials relevant to mathematical concepts appropriately designed for the subjects were used. The nursery school children were divided into morning and afternoon groups. Utilizing a Latin square design, the children in the morning group were taught by the directed teaching style for four weeks followed by a three week period of no planned mathematical activities, then taught by the open teaching style for four weeks. The children in the afternoon group followed the same schedule except the open teaching style was first. At the end of the two four-week sessions of mathematics experiences Thinking Creatively in Action and Movement and selected items of Tests of Basic Experiences 2: Mathematics were administered. The scores of each of the two tests were analyzed using a t-test of dependent measures for the two teaching styles, the sex, and the age of the children. Children taught using the directed teaching style showed a significantly higher originality and mathematical achievement scores than those taught using the open teaching style. Differences for sex and age revealed that the directed teaching style was a significantly better method of instruction to foster the originality for boys and the mathematical achievement for four-year-old children.

어린이집 유아 손의 미생물학적 위해 평가 및 손 씻기 교육의 효과 (Prevalence of Microbiological Hazard on Nursery School Children's Hands and Effect of Hand Washing Education)

  • 어린이집 유아 손의 미생물 오염도를 분석하고 손 씻기 교육의 미생물 저감화 효과를 실험하여 어린이집 유아 손의 위생 안전성을 확보하고자 어린이집 유아 59명을 대상으로 실험하였다. 일반세균수의 경우 평균 $3.72{\pm}0.38log\;CFU/hand$로 검출되었고, 위생지표미생물인 대장균군의 경우 남자어린이 18명 중 2명(11.1%)과 여자어린이 17명 중 3명(17.6%), 총 35명 중 5명(14.3%)에서 검출되어 어린이들에 대한 반복적인 손 씻기 지도가 필요한 것으로 판단되었다. $Staph.$ $aureus$는 35명 중 9명(25.7%), $B.$ $cereus$는 35명 중 16명(45.7%)에서 검출되었고 남자어린이의 손이 식중독 미생물 오염에 가장 취약한 것으로 나타났다. $Staph.$ $aureus$ 장독소는 9균주 중 $Staph.$ $aureus$ Hand-1 한 균주에서만 SEA 장독소가 검출되었으나 HBL과 NHE 장독소 중 한 가지 이상의 장독소를 생산하는 $B.$ $cereus$는 총 12균주(70.0%)로 나타나 어린이 손에 의한 교차오염 위험성이 상존한다고 판단되었다. 손 씻기 교육의 미생물 저감화 효과를 실험한 결과 교육을 실시한 그룹이 0.18 log CFU/hand 일반세균수가 더 저감화가 되었으나 저감화 정도가 매우 미약하여 손에 부착되어 있는 세균을 완전히 제거하기 위해서는 손 씻기와 손 소독을 병행하며 지속적인 손 씻기 교육을 실시하여야할 것으로 판단되었다.

이해관계자와 이용객 설문 조사를 통한 국내 ODA 산림협력사업 평가 연구 - 인도네시아 룸핀양묘장 사업을 대상으로 - (Evaluation of the ODA Forest Cooperation Projects in Korea through Stakeholder and Visitor Survey - A Case Study of the Rumpin Seed Source and Nursery Center Projects in Indonesia -)

  • It is essential that the evaluation of official development assistance (ODA) projects is conducted based on empirical research for the performance and improvement of the project. This study intended to quantitatively figure out the actual status and performance of ODA projects. The performance of the Rumpin Seed Source and Nursery Center project implemented by the KOICA was evaluated in items of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, sustainability, which are OECD Development Assistance Committee(DAC) evaluation criteria. From August 26, 2019 to August 29, 2019, a survey was conducted on 50 visitors and 54 stakeholders of the Rumpin Seed Source and Nursery Center. Through on-site survey, problems in the donation project and operation in Indonesia were identified and measures for improvement was grasped. As a result of the study, the value scored by OECD DAC evaluation criteria of the Rumpin Seed Source and Nursery Center project based on the Economic Development Cooperation Fund(EDCF) evaluation grade was evaluated as a very successful class in all items. The average score of the recognition question was 4.08 points for visitors and 4.08 points for stakeholders, and the average score for the satisfaction question was 4.37 points for visitors and 4.11 points for stakeholders, which were high overall in both groups. The main factor that affects the project awareness of the visitors was the fact that the Rumpin Seed Source and Nursery Center was created based on Korean technology, and it was confirmed that Indonesia's own items related to similar projects had a great influence on the project satisfaction. In the case of stakeholders, project support in Korea affected their recognition, and it was found that relevance, efficiency, effectiveness items had the greatest impact on the level of project satisfaction of stakeholders derived from the DAC individual evaluation results. Efforts are required to increase the main factors by reflecting the results of each item and to preserve and maintain the project. This study is significant in determining the performance of the ODA project based on empirical data, and it is believed that it can be used as basic data for supplementing and strengthening the project in the future.

파종방법에 따른 수크령, 갈대, 억새의 발아 및 초기생장 특성 (Germination and Early Growth Characteristics of Pennisetum alopecuroides, Phragmites communis, and Miscanthus sinensis According to the Seeding Methods)

  • To investigate the possibility of developing the seeding measure for river bank slope revegetation, germination experiment and early growth observation were conducted using 3 native species growing naturally around river banks such as Pennisetum alopecuroides, Phragmites communis, and Miscanthus sinensis. The applied seeding methods were 3 such as scattering seeds, tillage after scattering seeds, and covering up seed with soil after scattering seeds. According to seeding methods, germination experiment and early growth observation were carried out on nursery bed soil in greenhouse. As results of this study, all the 3 native plant species' germination ratio and growth in length on nursery bed soil were highest on the seeding method of covering up seed with soil. Also it was verified by Duncan's multiple range test that the germination ratio and growth in length on the seeding method of covering up seed with soil is distinguished from those on other two seeding methods. According to this results, the best possible seeding measure to be developed should be mechanical seed spraying with soil.

보육교사의 직무만족과 이직의도의 관계에서 자기효능감의 조절효과 분석 (The moderating effect of the self-efficacy on the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention of nursery school's teachers.)

  • 이 연구는 보육교사의 직무만족과 이직의도의 관계에서 자기 효능감이 조절효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 보육교사 355명을 대상으로 JSS, TIS, 그리고 SES JSS를 측정하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직무만족은 자기효능감에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직무만족은 부적으로 이직의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자기효능감은 이직의도에 부적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 자기효능감 중 자신감이 직무만족과 이직의도를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 직무만족이 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 자기효능감이 조절한다는 결과는 교사의 이직을 줄이기 위해 직무환경과 직무만족을 높이려는 방안에 더하여 교사의 자기효능감을 높이기 위한 다양한 교육 프로그램의 개발과 시행이 필요하다는 것을 시사한다.

일본 자녀양육지원정책의 변화와 보육소의 지역사회 개방(開放) (Changes in Parenting Support Policy and Opening Day Nurseries to Local Communities in Japan)

  • 본 연구에서는 일본 자녀양육지원정책의 변화와 더불어 지역사회 내 자녀양육지원 거점으로서 보육소의 기능 및 역할에 대하여 살펴보았다. 이를 통하여 한국 자녀양육지원정책 및 보육시설의 나아갈 방향에 대한 시사점을 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 분석 자료로 일본 내각부의 소자화사회 대책 백서, 보육소보육지침 등 국가 수준의 문헌들을 중심으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 일본 자녀양육 관련 정책은 국내외 자녀양육 환경의 변화 및 사회적 요구를 파악하여 지역사회 구성원 모두를 위한 중장기적이고 포괄적인 정책을 도입함과 동시에 자녀양육에 대한 사회적 인식 개선을 도모하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 2001년 "아동복지법" 일부 개정에 따른 보육사 자격의 법정화, 2008년 일본 보육소보육지침(보육소 보육 가이드라인)의 고시화에 따라 지역사회 내 자녀양육지원의 일환으로 가정에 근접해 있는 보육소의 역할이 대두되었으며, 지역사회의 공적 자원으로 개방되어 활용됨으로써 보육소의 사회적 책임이 명시되었다. 이를 바탕으로 한국 지역사회 내 자녀양육지원거점 기관으로서 어린이집의 역할 및 기능에 대한 재고가 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 지역사회 내 어린이집 및 부모들과 같은 실제 관계자들에 대한 목소리에 귀를 기울일 것이 요구된다. 나아가 지역사회 내 구성원 간 협력을 통하여 자녀양육에 대한 이해 및 가치를 공유하고, 그와 관련된 정보를 교환할 수 있는 공동의 장(場) 활성화를 도모하여야 한다.
