Economic Analysis for Packaged Software Adoption : Considering the Number of Concurrent Users (동시 사용자수를 고려한 패키지 소프트웨어 구매에 관한 경제성 분석)

  • When your company buys packaged software, the company needs to determine how many software licenses must be purchased. If the quantity is too small, it will be not enough for the users to access the programs at anytime within the company. Conversely, if the quantity is too large, they will waste a lot of money. In this paper, we surveyed several number of researchers of K institute and derived the using pattern of a specific packaged software. We estimated a proper number of packaged software licenses by Erlang Loss Function, the Engset Model, and simulation model. With the results of the three methodologies, we were able to empirically verify economic benefits of packaged software purchase by comparing NPV (Net Present Value) between user licenses and network licenses. Consequently, TCO of user licenses is much higher than that of network licenses. We had probabilistically calculated proper number of licenses based on the using pattern of users. Hence, this paper will be useful for decision makers who are going to determine package software's type and quantity from an economic perspective.

The Relationship between the Fashion Industry and Macro Variables - Focus on Fashion Listed Company - (패션산업과 거시 변수들간의 관계 -패션 상장기업 중심으로-)

  • This study examines the time causal relationship between the operation profit of the listed fashion companies and the macro variables. Operating profit data of 36 listed fashion companies from 2000 to 2017 has been used. Macro variables include household income, household expenditure, number of Korean overseas travelers, number of foreigner travelers and sentiment index. The study results are as follows. First, the number of outbound travelers from Korea has a negative effect on the operating profit of listed fashion companies; however the number of foreigner visiting Korea has a positive effect at 0 time lag. Second, the consumer sentiment index had a positive effect on the sales and the operating profits of the listed fashion companies with a time difference between the 3rd and the 4th quarter. Third, a disposable income has a positive effect on the operating profit of listed fashion companies. Last, educational expenses have a negative effect on operating profit with a time lag between the first and the second quarter. The findings can be used as useful information to analyze the fashion industry and help fashion companies improve their financial performances.

Development of Traffic Accident Prediction Model Based on Traffic Node and Link Using XGBoost (XGBoost를 이용한 교통노드 및 교통링크 기반의 교통사고 예측모델 개발)

  • This study intends to present a traffic node-based and link-based accident prediction models using XGBoost which is very excellent in performance among machine learning models, and to develop those models with sustainability and scalability. Also, we intend to present those models which predict the number of annual traffic accidents based on road types, weather conditions, and traffic information using XGBoost. To this end, data sets were constructed by collecting and preprocessing traffic accident information, road information, weather information, and traffic information. The SHAP method was used to identify the variables affecting the number of traffic accidents. The five main variables of the traffic node-based accident prediction model were snow cover, precipitation, the number of entering lanes and connected links, and slow speed. Otherwise, those of the traffic link-based accident prediction model were snow cover, precipitation, the number of lanes, road length, and slow speed. As the evaluation results of those models, the RMSE values of those models were each 0.2035 and 0.2107. In this study, only data from Sejong City were used to our models, but ours can be applied to all regions where traffic nodes and links are constructed. Therefore, our prediction models can be extended to a wider range.

  • This paper studied two factors for the manufacturing companies whose number of employee are under three hundred. One is the effect of the observation of quality system under the CEO's interest degree of quality management. First, most of company answered acquiring certificate ISO 9000 is very helpful for the company management .therefore the company have competence for the change of economic environment of domestic and international economy. Second, after acquiring the certificate ISO 9000, there were many improvements in company culture, quality control and business process productivity. As a result, acquisition of certificate of ISO 9000 system makes the company culture preparing the future to become a world first class company.

Determination of Fleet Size for LTL Transportation With Dynamic Demand

  • This study suggests an approach for determining fleet size for LTL (less -than-truckload) transportation with dynamic demand for on-time supply of the parts between the assembly line in an automobile company and its part suppliers in Korea. The vehicles operated by the transportation trucking companies in Korea in general can be classified into three types depending on the ways how their expenses occur; company -owned truck, mandated truck which is owned by outsider who entrusts the company with its operation, and rented truck (outsourcing) . With the forecasted monthly production data a year, a heuristic algorithm is developed to determine the number of company-owned trucks, mandated trucks, and rented trucks in order to minimize the expected annual operating cost, which is based on the solution technologies used in the aggregate production planning and vehicle routing problem. Finally the algorithm is tested for the problem how the trucking company transports parts for the automobile company.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the rheological properties of cake flour with 3% of commercial multi-emulsifiers(P company, W company, O company) based on flour. Rheological properties were analyzed by Falling number, RVA, Alveograph and Farinograph. In Falling number, viscosity of cake flour with multi-emulsifiers was increased. In RVA, initial pasting temperature was increased by adding multi-emulsifier except for W company. and peak viscosity, final viscosity and setback were increased but breakdown was decreased. In Alveogram, P and P/L value were decreased but L and G value were increased. In Farinogram, water absorption was decreased but dough development time was increased and stability was increased except for P company.

  • A generalized special program called planetary transmission analysis(here in after PTA) is developed to improve planetary gear noise in automatic transmission. PTA is capable of analyzing any typical one-degree-of-freedom automatic transmission gear train containing any number of simple, compound or complex-compound planetary gear sets. The kinematics module in PTA can compute the rotational speeds of gears and carriers and calculate the order frequencies to predict the planetary noise components. The power flow analysis module performs a complete static force analysis providing forces, moments, or torques of gears, bearings, clutches and connections. Based on the given type and number of planetary gear sets, the search algorithm determines all possible kinematic configurations and gear tooth combinations in a required set of gear ratios, while eliminating whole kinematic redundancies and unfavorable clutching sequences. By using PTA program, planetary internal speeds of new developed automatic transmission are early obtained; therefore, possibility of the noise problem could be predicted in early design stage. As implementing PTA in planetary gear NVH development procedure, planetary gear noise was successfully reduced by 10 dBA.

Analysis of Noise Special Medical Examination and Work Environment Monitoring Results (소음에 대한 특수건강진단 및 작업환경측정 결과 분석)

  • According to the analysis of special medical examination and work environment monitoring data, the rate of C1 and D1 on noise hazard exceeded 90 % among those of total hazardous factors. The rate of company exceeding noise exposure limit was also more than 90 %. The analysis result shows that main ages diagnosed with C1 and D1 was age of 50s. The majority scale company having workers diagnosed with C1 and D1 was the companies employing 5~49 workers. Types of industries which have a large number of companies exceeding noise exposure limit were automobile and trailer manufacturing, metal processing industry and primary metal manufacturing. A large number of work processes exceeding noise exposure limit were forming and processing work, cutting and bending work and grinding. To reduce the number of company exceeding noise exposure limit, the reduction counterplan should be focused on the type of industry and the work process which exceeded noise exposure limit frequently. However, the reduction counterplan is preemptively necessary to the type of industry and the work process which exceeded noise exposure limit consecutively if the purpose of reduction counterplan is not to merely reduce the number of company exceeding noise exposure limit but to abate workers' suffering from noise.

  • As the business has been highly informatized, many companies has bought the software for their works. There are two types of software license. One is a site license and the other is a user license. This paper is focused on the user license. User license has the number of the right to use software. So, software managers always need to know the number of licenses in use and should limit the number of software license in use. If someone in the company use a software without license, he will be treated as a piracy. In that case, the company should pay for the settlement cost for the exceeding license use. In this paper, we suggest the model how we can limit the installation of the software within the number of licenses by license management system.
