There nay be fierce debate over the nature of the medium that will herald the brave new world copper, fiber, wireless or satellite there is little doubt that future networks will be broadband in their capabilities. The Republic of Korea is a significant exception and leads the world, at present, in terms of number of subscribers with broadband access via ADSL. In order to further drive the growth in the broadband Internet access market, the government is scheduled to implement open access for ISPs and unbundling of the local loops of incumbent public telecom operators during the course of 2001. This paper studied the relationship between the quality of perceived service and the consumer satisfaction on IPTV which is on the increase in the number of subscribers as the representative of a convergence service of the communication and broadcasting. Using the measurement tools of five factors such as the perceived service quality, the accommodation of information techniques, the consumer satisfaction, the intention of continuous use and the users' intention to recommend to others, the empirical study on IPTV users was taken. The results showed that the perceived serviced service quality, usefulness and easy access to IPTV have strong effects on the use and the users, intention to recommend to others.

Mobile phones are the most common communication devices in history. For this reason, the number of mobile subscribers will increase dramatically in the future. Therefore, the determining the location of a mobile station will become more and more difficult. The mobile station must be authenticated to inform the network of its current location even when the user switches it on or when its location is changed. The most basic weakness in the GSM authentication protocol is the unilateral authentication process where the customer is verified by the system, yet the system is not confirmed by the customer. This creates numerous security issues, including powerlessness against man-in-the-middle attacks, vast bandwidth consumption between VLR and HLR, storage space overhead in VLR, and computation costs in VLR and HLR. In this paper, we propose a secure authentication mechanism based new mobility management method to improve the location management in the GSM network, which suffers from a lot off drawbacks, such as transmission cost and database overload. Numerical analysis is done for both conventional and modified versions and compared together. The numerical results show that our protocol scheme is more secure and that it reduces mobility management costs the most in the GSM network.

With the growth in electronics and the remarkable advance in wireless communication technology, mobile devices, such as mobile phones and PDAs are incessantly improved in their diverse functional performance. Lighter weight and smaller size has been gradually accomplished by recent circuit integration technology resulting in rapid growth in the number of mobile phone subscribers. Driven by customer demand, recent mobile devices are fully capable of realizing a variety of dazzling multimedia effects powered by electro-acoustic parts that have become one of the generic components. However, This paper also presents an oval micro-speaker, that is' expected to show an excellent performance within limited space of mobile phone, and its performance design has been suggested as well. Finally, a statistical approach to achieve high characteristic and performance is suggested by Taguchi method to identify a certain relationship between a mobile phone and a micro-speaker.

A huge storage and broad bandwidth are required to provide subscribers with VoD services. Hence, there is a huge amount of cost in establishing networks for VoD services. To determine how to reduce the cost, a number of studies involving such as distributed server systems, multicasting, program caching, stream sharing, are currently in progress. In this paper, a request criterion for multicast service and the ratio of required bandwidth for unicast to multicast are generated. The effect of multicast service on network bandwidth, server bandwidth, and buffer size was analyzed and validated through computer simulation. The results of this study could be applied to efficient designing networks for VoD services.

The Purpose of this study is to analyze telecommunications impacts on travel in a comprehensive system, considering demand, supply, costs, and land use. This study first Presents a conceptual model, considering causal relationships among travel, telecommunications, land use, economic activity, and socio-demographics. Then, based on the conceptual model, the aggregate causal relationships between telecommunications (local telephone calls, toll calls, and mobile phone subscribers) and travel (vehicle-miles traveled and number of transit Passengers) are explored in a comprehensive framework, using structural equation modeling of national time series data spanning 1950-2000 in the U.S. The model results suggest that as telecommunications demand increases, travel demand increases, and vice versa. Additionally. transportation infrastructure and land use significantly affect travel demand.

Nowadays, various social media platforms are widely spread and people closely use such platforms in daily life. By doing so, social influencers with a large number of subscribers, views, and comments have huge impact in our society. Following this trend, many companies are actively using influencers for marketing purpose to promote their products and services. In this study, we extract the speeches of influencers from videos for game marketing and analyze them using various text mining techniques. In the analysis, we distinguish game videos leading to successful marketing and failed marketing, and we explore and compare the linguistic features of the influencers for successful and failed marketings.

The objectives of this paper were to review the difference between the analog and digital age, and to suggest new communication strategies for Agricultural Extension Service Centers in the digital age. Literature review and discussion on the information age and its supporting technologies, such as the Internet and other digital tools, has enabled communication to occur during time periods and in locations based upon individual needs. With increasing number of internet subscribers using email and the world wide web, the internet is now considered a new mass media for communication, and may soon consider such electronic connectivity as essential in agricultural extension services. Communication strategies in the future should recognize and adapt to the changing needs farmers and extension educators in the information age. Utilization of internet technology and digital tools in communication may attract and retain farmers and extension educators in the future, thus. some of new strategies for communication in agricultural extension services should include the following; 1) traditional linear model should be change into interactive model in communication. 2) Agricultural extension service should include creative role with diffusion process. 3) Agricultural extension service should establish new receiver paradigm and form new partnership with farmer.

In this paper, we propose technical and structural solutions for various problems in two-way digital communication services in CATV networks by actual field tests. The two-way digital communication services include VOD, video conferencing, distance learning, interactive game and internet service. We investigate the quality of T -1 level 0.544 Mbps) upstream digital signal while varying the number of subscribers in three different cells in accordance with ITU-T G.821. Based on this investigation, several ways to cope with the problems identified are suggested.
