  • We have studied to obtain the SAW filter for the passband was formed on the Langasite substrate and was evaporated by Aluminum-Copper alloy and then we performed computer-simulated by simulator. We can fabricate that the block weighted type IDT as an input transducer of the filter and the withdrawal weighted type IDT as an output transducer of the filter from the results of our computer-simulation. Also, we have performed to obtain the properly design conditions about phase shift of the SAW filter for WCDMA. We have employed that the number of pairs of the input and output IDT are 50 pairs and the thickness and the width of reflector are 5000$\AA$ and 3.6$mu$m, respectively. Frequency response of the fabricated SAW filter has the property that the center frequency is about 190MHz and bandwidth at the 3dB is probably 8.2MHz. And we could obtain that return loss is less then 16dB, ripple characteristics is probably 4dB and triple transit echo is less then 18dB after when we have matched impedance.

  • Soil samples were screened for actinomycete strains capable of producing phospholipase D, and a strain, Streptomyces sp. YU100, showing a high transphosphatidylation activity was isolated. This strain secreted phospholipase D in a culture broth after 12 h of cultivation, and its productivity continued to increase for 36 h of fermentation. In addition, its transphosphatidylation rate of phosphatidylcholine to phosphatidylserine was almost $68\%$ within 1 h. The morphological and chemotaxonomical characteristics showed that this strain could be classified as a number of the Streptomycetaceae family, particularly due to the spiral form of its spore chain consisting of 60-70 smooth spores $(0.75{\times}1.0{\mu}m$) on an aerial mycelium, FA-2c type of fatty acid profile in the cell wall, and LL-DAP component in the cell wall peptidoglycan. A phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rDNA provided a clue that the strain YU100 was actually a member of the genus Streptomyces, because the determined sequence exhibited a higher homology with Streptomyes sp. ASB27, S. peucetius JCM9920, and S. griseus ATCC10137. A dendrogram based on the 16S rDNA sequences also showed a phylogenetic relationship between the strain YU100 and these strains. However, the strain YU100 has not yet been assigned to a particular species, because of absence of any other classified species with a high matching score.

  • The numerical calculation for solving boundary-value problem related to potential flows with a free surface is carried out by application of the localized finite element method. Only forced motion of 2-D body in infinitely deep fluid is considered, although this schemes is equally applicable to any first order time-harmonic problems of similar nature. The infinite domain of the fluid is separated into the inner flow field and the outer flow field with common inter-surface boundary. The finite element method is applied to obtain the solution in the inner flow field and the Green functions are utilized to represent the solution in the outer flow field. At the inter-surface boundary, the continuity of the value of potential and the normal derivative of the potential(i.e. matching condition) is conserved. The present method has better computational efficiency than the previous LFEM and the integral equation method of Frank. This enhanced computational efficiency is presumably due to the fact that the present method gives a symmetric coefficient matrix and requires less computational time in calculating the influence coefficient matrix of Green function than the integral equation method. And the irregular frequency desen't exist because the uniqueness of the solution is assured by the such that the exact free surface condition is satisfied on the boundary of the localized finite element region(i.e. inner region). As an example of the above method, the hydrodynamic forces for the circular cylinder and the rectangular cylinders are calculated. In the computed results, the small number of singularity distribution segments($3{\sim}6$) give good result relative to Ursell's and Vugts'.

  • To understand the traditional knowledge of botanical taxa in Jeju Island, a diachronic study was carried out by comparing the archaic and modern names of the native plants in Jeju Island. To identify the archaic names of the plants, five old documents (Sejongshillokchiriji, Shinjŭngdonggukyŏjisŭngnam, T'amnaji, Namhwanbangmul and Jejugyerok) that were written during the Joseon Dynasty between the 15th and 19th centuries were closely examined. A total of 131 taxa (65 families, 112 genera, 118 species and 13 varieties), 7.3% of the native plants known to be currently present in Jeju Island, was identified. Out of these, 21.4% was the plants found in the southern area. Among the five old documents analyzed for this study, Namhwanbangmul recorded the largest number of plants, 89 taxa. We closely examined the consistency between the modern and archaic names of each plant, and discussed the problems in matching the names of some plants analyzed in this study.

  • The position of autonomous driving vehicle is basically acquired through the global positioning system (GPS). However, GPS signals cannot be received in tunnels. Due to this limitation, localization of autonomous driving vehicles can be made through sensors mounted on them. In particular, a 3D Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) system is used for longitudinal position error correction. Few feature points and structures that can be used for localization of vehicles are available in tunnels. Since lanes in the road are normally marked by solid line, it cannot be used to recognize a longitudinal position. In addition, only a small number of structures that are separated from the tunnel walls such as sign boards or jet fans are available. Thus, it is necessary to extract usable information from tunnels to recognize a longitudinal position. In this paper, fire hydrants and evacuation guide lights attached at both sides of tunnel walls were used to recognize a longitudinal position. These structures have highly distinctive reflectivity from the surrounding walls, which can be distinguished using LIDAR reflectivity data. Furthermore, reflectivity information of tunnel walls was fused with the road surface reflectivity map to generate a synthetic reflectivity map. When the synthetic reflectivity map was used, localization of vehicles was able through correlation matching with the local maps generated from the current LIDAR data. The experiments were conducted at an expressway including Maseong Tunnel (approximately 1.5 km long). The experiment results showed that the root mean square (RMS) position errors in lateral and longitudinal directions were 0.19 m and 0.35 m, respectively, exhibiting precise localization accuracy.

  • Nowadays, a satellite image is widely utilized in identifying and predicting urban spatial growth. It provides essential informations on horizontal expansion of urbanized areas. However, its usefulness becomes very limited in analyzing density of urban development. On the contrary, zonal data, typically census data, provides various density information such as population, number of houses, floor information within a given zone. The problem of the zonal data in analyzing urban growth is that the size of the zone is too big. The minimum administration unit, Dong, is too big to match the satellite images. This study tries to derive synergy effects by matching the merits of the two information sources-- image data and zonal data. For this purpose, basic statistical unit (census block size) is utilized as a zonal unit. By comparing the image and zonal data of 1985 and 2000 of Daegu metropolitan area, this study concludes that urban growth pattern is better explained when the two types of data are properly used.

  • Under "Emergency Doctor Security Act of 2007", Japanese government focuses on relocating doctors in medically underserved areas and matching supply and demand of manpower in order to resolve the ubiquity of specific treatment departments. Particularly, there are two alternatives to secure the number of local physicians and avoid the regional shortage of doctors in the short term. Firstly, the government attracts existing physicians to the region. Secondly, the government increases the capability of regional clinical training system to prevent the influx of doctors to the larger cities. Also, it seeks solutions from various perspectives, such as cultivating manpower to work in vulnerable areas through the regional frame system and autonomous medical college. This study introduces the case of Japan as a benchmark and suggests that policymakers should focus on the recent conflict between the government and the medical consultation. More specifically, this study provides policy implications on the alternative measures for securing the manpower of regional doctors.

  • Network-based sharing of information has evolved into a cloud service environment today, increasing its number of users rapidly, but has become a major target for network-based illegal attackers.. In addition, IP spoofing among attackers' various attack techniques generally involves resource exhaustion attacks. Therefore, fast detection and response techniques are required. The existing detection method for IP spoofing attack performs the final authentication process according to the analysis and matching of traceback information of the client who attempted the connection request. However, the simple comparison method of traceback information may require excessive OTP due to frequent false positives in an environment requiring service transparency. In this paper, symmetric key cryptography based on traceback information is used as mutual authentication information to improve this problem. That is, after generating a traceback-based encryption key, mutual authentication is possible by performing a normal decryption process. In addition, this process could improve the overhead caused by false positives.

  • In this paper, a selective feedback low-noise amplifier (LNA) has been realized in a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology to cover a number of wireless multi-standards. By exploiting notch filter, the SF-LNA demonstrates the measured results of the power gain (S21) of 11.5~13dB and the broadband input/output impedance matching of less than -10dB within the frequency bands of 820~960MHz and 1.5~2.5GHz, respectively. The chip dissipates 15mW from a single 1.8V supply, and occupies the area of $1.17\times1.0mm^2$.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the outcomes of laparoscopic gastrectomy in very elderly patients with gastric cancer, who have outlived the average lifespan of the Korean population (men: ${\geq}77years$, women: ${\geq}84years$). Materials and Methods: Between 2004 and 2015, 836 patients with gastric cancer underwent a laparoscopic gastrectomy. They were divided into the elderly group (EldG) and non-elderly group (nEldG). Propensity score matching for covariates of sex, tumor depth, node status, and extent of resection was performed. Clinicopathologic characteristics, and surgical and survival outcomes were compared between the 2 groups. Results: The EldG had a higher American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) score and a higher number of comorbidities. There was no significant difference in the post-operative complications, except for pulmonary complications, which were more frequent in the EldG (5/56, 8.9%) than in the nEldG (0/56, 0%). The EldG had a shorter overall survival (OS), but cancer-specific survival was similar for both groups. Among deceased patients, 2 (25%) and 8 patients (50%) died within a year of surgery in the nEldG and EldG, respectively. Univariate and multivariate risk factor analyses for OS showed that age, ASA score, tumor, node, metastasis (TNM) stage, and occurrence of complications were significantly related to deterioration in OS. Conclusions: Laparoscopic gastrectomy can be safely performed in very elderly patients with gastric cancer who have outlived the average lifespan of the Korean population. However, impact of laparoscopic gastrectomy on improving survival is not clear, and careful patient selection is recommended.
