A NOTE ON VARIATION CONTINUITY FOR MULTILINEAR MAXIMAL OPERATORS

  • This note is devoted to establishing the variation continuity of the one-dimensional discrete uncentered multilinear maximal operator. The above result is based on some refine variation estimates of the above maximal functions on monotone intervals. The main result essentially improves some known ones.

The Effects of Strength Note Program on Mental Health of University Students in Convergence Age (강점노트 프로그램이 융복합시대 대학생의 정신건강에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to verify the effect of the strength note program by comparing and analyzing the effect of the strength note program on self-esteem and self-efficacy of university students in Convergence Age. This study targeted 70 male and female university students in G area and the subjects were asked to find their and other people's positive characteristics or strengths once a week and record them. For analysis of the collected data, frequency and percentage analysis and paired-t-test were conducted using SPSS WIN 20.0. As the result, the strength note program significantly influenced the improvement in self-esteem and self-efficacy of university students. This result demonstrates the necessity of the strength note program for improving self-esteem and self-efficacy of university students. Therefore, there is a need to provide a specific and systematic strength note program to help university students get over diverse problems. It is considered that this will help mental health, academic achievement and career search of university students and contribute to the enhancement in happiness and the quality of life. Also it will be the basis for future longitudinal studies through interdisciplinary convergency research.

The Effect of Writing Activity as Mathematical Communication on the High School Students' Mathematics Learning (수학적 의사소통으로서의 쓰기활동이 고등학교 학생들의 수학 학습에 미치는 효과)

  • In this paper, we study the effect of writing activity as mathematical communication on the students's mathematics achievement, learning attitude, and mathematical tendency. For this purpose, we construct a experimental class and then analyze the students' change in those aspects after applying three-divided-note writing activity and colleague feedback on their works those students are in the experimental class. As a result of the experiment, we find that three-divided-note writing activity and colleague feedback made some significant changes on the students achievement in mathematics, learning attitude, but does not affect on mathematical tendency. We also offer some suggestions for further research. Firstly, the mathematical communication ability must be stressed in mathematics education. For this purpose, we need to develop the teaching and the evaluation method to use not only writing but also reading, speaking, and listening skills so that many teachers can apply this method easily to their classes. Second, we need to fix some realistic problems such as fair evaluation , the numbers of students per class, the numbers of lesson, and too much extra-work, and so on. Thirdly, we suggest to explore some methods for extending three- divided-note writing activity to evaluate mathematical essay and to study educational effects of colleague feedback on mathematics performance assessment.

  • It is crucial to a musical artist whether or not they have a musical identity. Major entertainment companies of Korea are strongly promoting a cultural product called 'Idol', where musical identity and musicianship are not important, with careful production and capital. It is important to take note of Prince, who remains to show clearly his philosophy and identity, in the state where lack of musical identity is being promoted. Many studies done on his musical brilliance and uniqueness can be a great incentive to rethink on the nature of music. As an arranger, Prince used tension notes effectively and even showed that avoid notes can be used to express a musical color. Studies on his musical brilliance and uniqueness must continue to be done and become an incentive to not just people who study music but for everyone to rethink the nature of music. There is no correct answer to music, but art has to be the essence of its nature.

  • This study is to figure out the activity of individual education with the note-taking in math class and correction and supportive explanations on attitudes toward learning of underachievers in mathematics in the second-year class of high school. This study has begun on the basis of the judgement that the note-taking especially correction and supportive explanations could help the underachievers in mathematics focus in class and develop good learning habits, and besides, students make a good relationship with teacher. According to this result, Many researches and exertions need to inform every student that mathematics is open and doing mathematics is a happy object. if the students who are underachievers were given the chance to organize their learning by themselves in the class with note-taking and correction and supportive explanations in the long-term, it should be effective enough to change their attitudes toward learning.

Survey of completeness of medical records in one educational hospital using new checklist (일개 교육병원에서 의무기록의 충실도의 대한 조사)

  • Background : Medical records thought to be reflecting the quality of medicine. By this ground, examination of medical records can be served to evaluate, and to improve the quality of medical care. To examine the medical records, we need some standards or checklists which can be used to sort out the problems. Methods: We developed checklists for medical records evaluation. We studied 1,677 medical records about its completeness using this checklists in one educational hospital. Survey was completed by 5 well trained staffs of medical record department. Results are analyzed. SPSS/PC+ program was used for statistics. Results : 13.8% of discharge summary was incomplete. Recording of the demographic information was also poor in incomplete medical records compared to complete ones. Progress note was recorded average 4.16 times during 11.9 hospital days. After 4th hospital day, recording rate of progress note dropped sharply. Rate of professor's signature on operation records was poor(27%). He or she who described the discharge summary well also wrote progress note well. Conclusions: Fill-up of demographic date should be stressed during medical record education program. Strategy to create the environment emphasizing the responsibility of professor on quality medical record should be made. We suggest new index (number of records/hospital stay) for the evaluation of completeness of progress note.

An Improved Automatic Music Transcription Method Using TV-Filter and Optimal Note Combination (TV-필터와 최적 음표조합을 이용한 개선된 가변템포 음악채보방법)

  • This paper proposes three methods for improving the accuracy of auto-music transcription considering with time-varying tempo from monophonic sound. The first one that uses TV(Total Variation) filter for smoothing the pitch data reduces the fragmentation in the pitch segmentation result. Also, the measure finding method that combines three different ways based on pitch and energy of sound data, respectively as well as based on rules produces more stable result. In addition the temporal result of note-length encoding is corrected in optimal way that the resulted encoding minimizes the sum of quantization error in a measure while the sum of note-lengths is equal to the number of beats. In the experiment with 16 children songs, we obtained the improved result in which measure finding was complete, the accuracy of encoding for note-length and pitch was about 91.3 and 86.7, respectively.

  • This paper presents the need for the concept of collective intelligence based system for the timely learning and incorrect notes show the utilization and satisfaction. The old wrong answer note system is characterized by the provision of uniform right answer explanations for the questions whose answers were wrong by checking whether the evaluation items were answered right or wrong. The characteristic requires a lot of improvements in terms of wrong answer analysis and feedback since it cannot properly receive feedback on the items that a learner got right by luck in spite of poor understanding of them and on the errors in the selection process of wrong answers by individual learners. The SERO wrong answer note was designed to propose new ways to identify and capture such "score errors" and compensate for the practical weaknesses of learners. The Stability Emergency Risk Opportunity (SERO) wrong answer note is based on a method of categorizing and analyzing evaluation items answered by the examinee into four types (S, E, R and O type), and commentary correct as well as incorrect answers by presenting a variety of commentary notes using the collective intelligence of the study show that satisfaction is high.

Conversion Program of Music Score Chord using OpenCV and Deep Learning (영상 처리와 딥러닝을 이용한 악보 코드 변환 프로그램)

  • This paper deals with the development of an application that converts the PDF music score entered by the user into a MIDI file of the chord the user wants. This application converts the PDF file into a PNG file for chord conversion when the user enters the PDF music score file and the chord which the user wants to change. After recognizing the melody of sheet music through image processing algorithm and recognizing the tempo of sheet music notes through deep learning, then the MIDI file of chord for existing sheet music is produced. The OpenCV algorithm and deep learning can recognize minim note, quarter note, eighth note, semi-quaver note, half rest, eighth rest, quarter rest, semi-quaver rest, successive notes and chord notes. The experiment shows that the note recognition rate of the music score was 100% and the tempo recognition rate was 90% or more.

Creating Songs Using Note Embedding and Bar Embedding and Quantitatively Evaluating Methods (음표 임베딩과 마디 임베딩을 이용한 곡의 생성 및 정량적 평가 방법)

  • In order to learn an existing song and create a new song using an artificial neural network, it is necessary to convert the song into numerical data that the neural network can recognize as a preprocessing process, and one-hot encoding has been used until now. In this paper, we proposed a note embedding method using notes as a basic unit and a bar embedding method that uses the bar as the basic unit, and compared the performance with the existing one-hot encoding. The performance comparison was conducted based on quantitative evaluation to determine which method produced a song more similar to the song composed by the composer, and quantitative evaluation methods used in the field of natural language processing were used as the evaluation method. As a result of the evaluation, the song created with bar embedding was the best, followed by note embedding. This is significant in that the note embedding and bar embedding proposed in this paper create a song that is more similar to the song composed by the composer than the existing one-hot encoding.
