OFDM 기반 전력선 통신을 위한 Notch Filter 설계 (Notch Filter Design for Power Line Communication based on OFDM)

  • 인터넷 서비스가 주 정보원으로 작용하는 정보화 시대에 인터넷 망이 닿지 않는 지역에 인터넷 서비스를 제공하기 위해 전력선 통신이 이루어지고 있다. 고속의 통신 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 현재 30MHz까지 할당된 주파수 대역을 80MHz로 확대하려는 연구도 이루어지고 있다. 하지만, 전력선은 통신 선로가 아니므로 통신 신호의 흐름에 따라 방사되는 전파가 발생하고, 그 전파는 기존에 그 대역을 사용하는 무선통신 서비스와 간섭이 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 전력선 통신과 무선 통신 서비스의 상호 간섭을 줄이기 위해 ETSI에서 규정한 간섭 채널을 기준으로, 간섭 신호의 대역폭을 고려하여 3단, 8단의 동적 Notch Filter를 연산하였다. 또한, 간섭 채널에 Notch Filter를 적용하였고, 적용한 결과를 스펙트럼 및 BER 성능을 통하여 검증하였다.

  • Notch signaling plays a pivotal role in cell fate determination, cellular development, cellular self-renewal, tumor progression, and has been linked to developmental disorders and carcinogenesis. Notch1 is activated through interactions with the ligands of neighboring cells, and acts as a transcriptional activator in the nucleus. The Notch1 intracellular domain (Notch1-IC) regulates the expression of target genes related to tumor development and progression. The Notch1 protein undergoes modification after translation by posttranslational modification enzymes. Phosphorylation modification is critical for enzymatic activation, complex formation, degradation, and subcellular localization. According to the nuclear cycle, Notch1-IC is degraded by E3 ligase, FBW7 in the nucleus via phosphorylation-dependent degradation. Here, we summarize the Notch signaling pathway, and resolve to understand the role of phosphorylation in the regulation of Notch signaling as well as to understand its relation to cancer.   • 전력선은 이미 전 세계적으로 60% 이상의 주거지에 설치되어 있기 때문에 고속의 전력선 통신을 이용하여 인터넷 액세스를 실현하는 새로운 액세스용 회선을 부설하지 않고 광대역 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 이러한 이유로 정보화 시대에 인터넷 망이 닿지 않는 Last Mile Solution에 가장 적합한 서비스로서 전력선 통신에 대한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 하지만, 전력선은 통신 선로가 아니고 전력을 전송하도록 설계되었기 때문에 전자파의 누설로 부근의 무선통신 시스템에 영향을 주게 된다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 무선 통신 서비스와 전력선 통신과의 간섭을 줄이기 위하여 기존의 Notch Filter보다 성능 면에서 우수한 고성능 Notch Filter 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 또한, 고성능 Notch Filter를 적용하여 임베디드 보드를 통한 Notch Filter Emulator를 구현하였다.

  • 화약의 동적 충격에너지를 이용하는 발파굴착은 매우 효율적인 터널굴착방법이다. 그러나 진동과 암소음 등의 발파공해가 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 최근 연구를 통해 노치공을 이용한 선균열 암굴착방법은 발파공해와 터널의 여굴을 상당히 줄일 수 있는 것으로 확인되었고 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 노치발파공의 성형을 위한 노치장비개발에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 노치공을 효율적으로 성형하기 위해 노치비트의 길이, 높이 등을 다양하게 변화시켜 실험을 수행하여 최적화하였고, 천공속도, 천공정밀도를 높이기 위한 천공비트, 노치비트, 아답타, 노치 가이드로 이루어진 노치비트 시스템을 개발하였다.

siRNA-mediated Silencing of Notch-1 Enhances Docetaxel Induced Mitotic Arrest and Apoptosis in PCa Cells

  • Purpose: Notch is an important signaling pathway that regulates cell fate, stem cell maintenance and the initiation of differentiation in many tissues. It has been reported that activation of Notch-1 contributes to tumorigenesis. However, whether Notch signaling might have a role in chemoresistance of prostate cancer is unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects of Notch-1 silencing on the sensitivity of prostate cancer cells to docetaxel treatment. Methods: siRNA against Notch-1 was transfected into PC-3 prostate cancer cells. Proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle distribution were examined in the presence or absence of docetaxel by MTT and flow cytometry. Expression of $p21^{waf1/cip1}$ and Akt as well as activation of Akt in PC-3 cells were detected by Western blot and Real-time PCR. Results: Silencing of Notch-1 promoted docetaxel induced cell growth inhibition, apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in PC-3 cells. In addition, these effects were associated with increased $p21^{waf1/cip1}$ expression and decreased Akt expression and activation in PC-3 cells. Conclusion: Notch-1 promotes chemoresistance of prostate cancer and could be a potential therapeutic target.

Rnf152 Is Essential for NeuroD Expression and Delta-Notch Signaling in the Zebrafish Embryos

  • We report the biological functions of a zebrafish homologue of RING-finger protein 152 (rnf152) during embryogenesis. rnf152 was initially identified as a brain-enriched E3 ligase involved in early embryogenesis of zebrafish. Expression of rnf152 was ubiquitous in the brain at 24 hpf but restricted to the eyes, midbrain-hindbrain boundary (MHB), and rhombomeres at 48 hpf. Knockdown of rnf152 in zebrafish embryos caused defects in the eyes, MHB, and rhombomeres (r1-7) at 24 hpf. These defects in rnf152-deficient embryos were analyzed by whole-mount in situ hybridization (WISH) using neuroD, deltaD, notch1a, and notch3 probes. NeuroD expression was abolished in the marginal zone, outer nuclear layer (ONL), inner nuclear layer (INL), and ganglion cell layer (GCL) of the eyes at 27 hpf. Furthermore, deltaD and notch1a expression was remarkably reduced in the ONL, INL, subpallium, tectum, cerebellum, and rhombomeres (r1-7) at 24 hpf, whereas notch3 expression was reduced in the tectum, cerebellum, and rhombomeres at 24 hpf. Finally, we confirmed that expression of Notch target genes, her4 and ascl1a, also decreased significantly in these areas at 24 hpf. Thus, we propose that Rnf152 is essential for development of the eyes, midbrain and hindbrain, and that Delta-Notch signaling is involved.

The notch of the mandible: what do different fields call it?

  • The bony notch on the inferior border of the mandible, anterior to the attachment of the masseter muscle, where the facial vessels commonly pass, has been called different names in the literature, e.g., premasseteric notch, antegonial notch, and notch for the facial vessels. Interestingly, various disciplines have leaned toward different names for this notch. Therefore, to aid in consistent communication among professionals, the present study aimed to analyze usage of these varied terms and make recommendations for the best terminology. Based on the adjacent anatomical structures used to name this notch, three groups were analyzed in this study, a group using masseter in the term, a group using gonion in the term, and a group using facial vessels in the term. A literature search found that the group using gonion in the term was found most in the literature. The orthodontics field used gonion in the term the most (29.0%: 31/107) followed by the oral and maxillofacial surgery field (14.0%: 15/107), the plastic surgery field (4.7%: 5/107), and the anatomy field (3.7%: 4/107). The dental field used gonion in this term the most (43.9%: 47/107) and the medical field used facial vessels in the term the most (33.3%: 6/18). Based on these results, the use of gonial terms for this notch seems to be preferred.

전후방적 분류에 따른 하악 형태 및 Spee 만곡에 대한 antegonial notch의 관계 평가 (Evaluation of the antegonial notch related to the mandibular morphology and the curve of Spee in anteroposterior relation)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the mandibular antegonial notch and the mandibular morphology, and the curve of Spee in anteroposterior skeletal relationship. Pre-treatment lateral cephalograms were obtained from 80(male 34, female 46) adult orthodontic patients and the samples were classified into 3 categories by ANB angle($0^{\circ}$$\leq$ANB< $4^{\circ}$ Class I, $4^{\circ}$$\leq$ANB Class II, ANB< $0^{\circ}$ Class III). The curve of Spee was measured directly from the pre-treatment mandibular study cast of each patient included in this study. Pearson correlation coefficient test and multiple regression analysis in each group revealed the following results; 1. Antegonial notch depth was positively correlated with hoth lower anterior facial height(ANS-Me) in skeletal Class I, II and III groups and Id-Me height in skeletal Class I and II groups. 2. A statistically significant negative correlation was found between the depth of the antegonial notch and the curve of Spee in the Class III group. 3. Significant relationship was not found between the antegonial notch depth and any of the other cephalometric variables such as mandibular body length(Go-Gn) and ramus height(Co-Go). As antegonial notch depth increased, more vertical growth of the mandible was observed. Antegonial notch can be used as a predictor of vertical mandibular growth in the diagnosis and treatment planning of malocclusion.

Study of tensile behavior of Y shape non-persistent joint using experimental test and numerical simulation

  • Experimental and discrete element methods were used to investigate the effects of angle of Y shape non-persistent joint on the tensile behaviour of joint's bridge area under brazilian test. concrete samples with diameter of 100 mm and thikness of 40 mm were prepared. Within the specimen, two Y shape non-persistent notches were provided. The large notch lengths were 6 cm, 4 cm and 2 cm. the small notch lengths were 3 cm, 2 cm and 1 cm. The angle of larger notch related to horizontal axis was 0°, 30°, 60°, 90°. Totally, 12 different configuration systems were prepared for Y shape non-persistent joints. Also, 18 models with different Y shape non-persistent notch angle and notch length were prepared in numerical model. The large notch lengths were 6 cm, 4 cm and 2 cm. the small notch lengths were 3 cm, 2 cm and 1 cm. The angle of larger notch related to horizontal axis was 0, 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150. Tensile strength of model materil was 1 MPa. The axial load was applied to the model by rate of 0.02 mm/sec. This testing showed that the failure process was mostly governed by the Y shape non-persistent joint angle and joint length. The tensile strengths of the specimens were related to the fracture pattern and failure mechanism of the discontinuities. It was shown that the tensile behaviour of discontinuities is related to the number of the induced tensile cracks which are increased by increasing the joint length and joint angle. The minimum tensile strength occurs when the angle of larger joint related to horizontal axis was 60°. Also, the maximum compressive strength occurs when the angle of larger joint related to horizontal axis was 90°. The tensile strength was decreased by increasing the notch length. The failure pattern and failure strength are similar in both methods i.e. the experimental testing and the numerical simulation methods.

단상 BLDC 전동기 고정자 노치 위치에 따른 코깅토크 저감에 관한 연구 (A Study of Cogging Torque Reduction depending on Notch Position of Single Phase BLDC Motor Stator)

  • This paper presents a optimization design of 10[W] single phase BLDC motor applied Notch shape. Cogging Torque causes noise, vibration and torque ripple so notched stator is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a single phase BLDC motor needs applying aymmetric air-gap shape because this type motor cannot help having dead-point which is zero torque position. However, using asymmetric air-gap structure causes cogging torque increase. Therefore, this paper proposes the notch shape structure. Notch shape structure has some advantages; low cost, easy to apply. There are 4 optimal factors selected in optimization process, which are position and size of notches. Through building a prototype, the result of FE analysis and the experimental measurement value are compared each other and then vailidity and utility of simulation will be verified.
