This study investigated the crystal growth, crystalline structure and the basic optical properties of $PbSnSe/BaF_2$ epilayers. The PbSnSe epilayer was grown on $BaF_2$(111) insulating substrates using a hot wall epitaxy (HWE) technique. It was found from the analysis of X-ray diffraction patterns that $PbSnSe/BaF_2$ epilayer was grown single crystal with a rock-salt structure oriented along [111] the growth direction. Using Rutherford back scattering, the atomic ratios of the PbSnSe was found to be proper stoichiometric. The best values for the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the DCXRD was 162 arcsec for PbSnSe epilayer. The epilayer-thickness dependence of the FWHM of the DCXRD shows that the quality of the $PbSnSe/BaF_2$ is as expected. The dielectric function ${\varepsilon}(E)$ of a semiconductor is closely related to its electronic energy band structure and such relation can be drawn from features around the critical points(CPs) in the optical spectra. The real and imaginary parts(${\varepsilon}1$ and ${\varepsilon}2$) of the dielectric function ${\varepsilon}$ of PbSe were measured, and the observed spectra reveal distinct structures at energies of the E1, E2 and E3 CPs. These data are analyzed using a theoretical model known as the model dielectric function (MDF). The optical constants related to dielectric function such as the complex refractive index ($n^*=n+ik$), absorption coefficient (${\alpha}$) and normal-incidence reflectivity (R) are also presented for $PbSnSe/BaF_2$.
Optimization problems are formulated to calculate optimal impulses for deflecting Earth-Crossing Objects using a Nonlinear Programming. This formulation allows us to analyze the velocity changes in normal direction to the celestial body's orbital plane, which is neglected in many previous studies. The constrained optimization in the three-dimensional space is based on a patched conic method including the Earth's gravitational effects, and yields impulsive ${\Delta}V$ to deflect the target's orbit. The optimal solution is dependent on relative positions and velocities between the Earth and the Earth-crossing objects, and can be represented by optimal magnitude and angle of ${\Delta}V $ as a functions of a impulse time. The perpendicular component of ${\Delta}V $ to the orbit plane can sometimes play un-negligible role as the impulse time approaches the impact time. The optimal ${\Delta}V $ is increased when the original orbit of Earth-crossing object is more similar to the Earth's orbit, and is also exponentially increased as the impulse time reaches to the impact time. The analyses performed in present paper can be used to the deflection missions in the future.

Bow shock, formed by the interaction between the solar wind and a planet, is generated in different patterns depending on the conditions of the planet. In the case of the earth, its own strong magnetic field plays a critical role in determining the position of the bow shock. However, in the case of Mars of which has very a small intrinsic magnetic field, the bow shock is formed by the direct interaction between the solar wind and the Martian ionosphere. It is known that the position of the Martian bow shock is affected by the mass loading-effect by which the supersonic solar wind velocity becomes subsonic as the heavy ions originating from the planet are loaded on the solar wind. We simulated the Martian magnetosphere depending on the changes of the density and velocity of the solar wind by using the three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic model built by modifying the comet code that includes the mass loading effect. The Martian exosphere model of was employed as the Martian atmosphere model, and only the photoionization by the solar radiation was considered in the ionization process of the neutral atmosphere. In the simulation result under the normal solar wind conditions, the Martian bow shock position in the subsolar point direction was consistent with the result of the previous studies. The three-dimensional simulation results produced by varying the solar wind density and velocity were all included in the range of the Martian bow shock position observed by Mariner 4, Mars 2, 3, 5, and Phobos 2. Additionally, the simulation result also showed that the change of the solar wind density had a greater effect on the Martian bow shock position than the change of the solar wind velocity. Our result may be useful in analyzing the future observation data by Martian probes.

Most of Korea's beauty college education focuses on the subject rather than the industrial field of the industrialized world. It is centered on subjects rather than on-site job modules, and training sessions are required for graduation of the training period rather than having flexible configurations. Therefore, the education curriculum and industrial field training are becoming mismatched because of the goal of acquiring a certificate in skin care major subjects. Based on this problem, the researcher made a questionnaire about the certificate utilization of students who are majoring in skin care and 294 students were surveyed. It was found that it had a high degree of utilization to take a job, but that it had below normal level on utilization after entering the industrial field. Based on this analysis result, I propose to review the need to reorganize the skin care curriculum, which is based on the national competency standards (NCS) beginning in 2014. Education experts at the college of skin care should continue to develop a curriculum centered on academic subjects and industrial field curriculum as closely as possible, by focusing on the direction and trend of the industry's branches and industry experts.

Purpose: The present study was conducted to compare any difference caused by pigmentation in the centrations and movement patterns on the cornea between circle and soft contact lens with identical material and parameters during lens wearing. Methods: Soft and circle contact lenses with identical material and parameters were applied to twenty eyes with normal tear volume for 3 hrs a day during a total of 5 days and then their lens centrations, the moving distances and rotations by repeat blinking were compared. Results: The lens centration beyond the fitting criteria was shown in initial wears of both soft contact lens and circle contact lens. However, the centration of soft contact lens was changed to the pupil center for being suitable to the fitting criteria with longer wearing time. On the other hand, the decentration of circle contact lens in the horizontal direction was still presented even with longer wearing time. The moving distances of soft contact lens and circle contact lens decreased with the expand of lens wearing but were not significantly different between total wearing period and daily wearing time. The rotation of circle contact lens by repeat blinking was significantly different from that of soft contact lens even when the wearing period was extended. Conclusions: We revealed that the lens centration and movement of circle contact lens on cornea were different from those of regular soft contact lens resulting in bigger difference with the expand of wearing period in the study.
When the orientations of joints are measured on a rock exposure, there are frequent cases that are difficult to approach by the surveyor to the target joints or to set up scanlines on the slope. In this study, to complement such limit and weak points, a new algorithm was developed to interpret joint orientation from analyzing the images of rock slope. As a method of arranging the multiple images of a rock slope, the multistage convergent photographing system was introduced to overcome the limitation of photographing direction which existing method such as parallel stereophotogrammetric system has and to cover the range of image measurement, which is the overlapping area between the image pair, to a maximum extent. To determine camera parameters in the perspective projection equation that are the main elements of the analysis method, a new method was developed introducing three ground control points and single ground guide point. This method could be considered to be very simple compared with other existing methods using a number of ground control points and complicated analysis process. So the global coordinates of a specific point on a rock slope could be analyzed with this new method. The orientation of a joint could be calculated using the normal vector of the joint surface which can be derived from the global coordinates of several points on the joint surface analyzed from the images.
We simulated the magnetization reversal behavior of submicron-thickness magnetic films by applying pulses of sub-ns-long durations and amplitudes along the easy axis. The films were rectangular and elliptical $Ni_{80}Fe_{20}$, and their thickness was 2 nm and 4 nm. We observed different behaviors depending upon the shape and thickness of the films and found a normal non-switching in regions in which we expected complete switching after relaxation. In the elliptical film, the non-switching regions were found to be random and to be widely distributed throughout the switching map. The strong demagnetization field along the z-axis, the film thickness direction, is likely responsible for this abnormal behavior. In the rectangular film, the abnormal non-switching regions were less distributed than they were in the elliptical film due to edge domains resulting from the small $M_z$ or demagnetization field during the switching. Our simulation confirms that large demagnetization is detrimental to the ultra-fast magnetization reversal of magnetic ultra-thin films.

This paper explains effective tracking method for a vehicle cutting in a line on the road automatically. The method employs KLT based on optical flow using play-back image sequence. Main contribution of this paper is play-back image sequence that is in order image frames for rewind direction from a reference point in time. The moment when recognizing camera can read a license plate very well can usually be the reference point in time. The biggest images of object traced can usually be obtained at this moment also. When optic flow is applied, the bigger image of the object traced can be obtained, the more feature points can be obtained. More many feature points bring good result of tracking object. After the recognizing cameras read a license plate on the vehicle suspected of cut-in-line violation, and then the system extracts the play-back image sequence from the tracking cameras for watching wide range. This paper compares using play-back image sequence as normal method for tracking to using play-forward image sequence as suggested method on the results of the experiment and also shows the suggested algorithm has a good performance that can be applied to the unmanned system for watching cut-in-line violation.
Could STS throw another-colored light on the Hwang's Affair, the scientific fraud committed by Hwang Woo-Suk and his research team in Korea? And could analytic tools of STS unfold another meanings which have been overlooked in most of the traditionally social-sciences-oriented analyses? In this essay, I try to answer these questions by analyzing the Hwang's Affair in the view of STS, especially by using some concepts of actor-network theory(ANT): movement, translation and displacement. I want to say that the Hwang's Affair seems to be a part of normal scientific activity, not an abnormal phenomenon, and as an evidence, focus on the similarities of their life styles between "pure/real scientist" Louis Pasteur and "impure/political scientist" Hwang Woo-Suk. I try to mobilize some concepts of ANT, especially movement, and find out why scientists came to move toward the opposed direction on the pure/real-impure/political line. I suggest that there exists "laboratory politics" as the key factor in this bifurcation. My tentative conclusion is that Pasteur can take a position to make his great world, so-called the Pasteurian world, owing to the success of "double movement" in which he treated his laboratory as a fulcrum to lift up the world, but Hwang degrades himself to "ugly scientific politician" due to the loss of the momentum of his movement; Hwang treated his laboratory only as the symbolic resources and in turn failed to solidify material entities, his real political resources, even though he knew the importance of laboratory.

In this study, reliabilities of Cu (60 um)/SnAg (20 um) double-bump flip chip assemblies were investigated for the flip chip interconnections on organic substrates with 100 um pitch. After multiple reflows at $250^{\circ}C\;and\;280^{\circ}C$, bump contact resistances were almost same regardless of number of reflows and reflow temperature. In the high temperature storage test, there was no bump contact resistance change at $125^{\circ}C$ up to 2000 hours. However, bump contact resistances slightly increased at $150^{\circ}C$ due to Kirkendall voids formation. In the electromigration test, Cu/SnAg double-bump flip chip assemblies showed no electromigration until about 600 hours due to reduced local current density. Finally, in the thermal cycling test, thermal cycling failure mainly occurred at Si chip/Cu column interface which was found out the highest stress concentration site in the finite element analysis. As a result, Al pad was displaced out under thermal cycling. This failure mode was caused by normal compressive strain acting Cu column bumps along perpendicular direction of a Si chip.
