  • The railway vehicle is composed of many suspension components, such as 1st springs, 2nd dampers, that have an influence on the dynamic characteristics of high speed train. Also, the wheel/rail shapes and its contact mechanism affect the dynamic behavior of high speed train. but these geometric contact characteristics are nonlinear functions of the wheelset lateral displacement and it do not exact dynamic analysis for high speed train. there is a need to develop a new wheel/rail contact module for dynamic behavior and wheelset model is divided motor box, wheel box and wheel body. This wheel is moved by motor box and constrained by joint. It is almost same a train and its result is more exactly.

  • In this paper, a computer simulation method for dynamic analysis of the hydraulic engine mount system is proposed. The hydraulic engine mount system controls the damping characteristics using the viscosity of fluid flow The complex stiffness of the main rubber of the hydraulic engine mount system is computed by finite element analysis for the viscoelastic materials and hydro-static elements. A numerical analysis method is presented to solve nonlinear equations of the hydraulic engine mount system. which is composed of an engine mass, fluid in inertia track and a vertical inertia force of reciprocating mass in the engine. Also. dynamic properties of the hydraulic engine mount system are analyzed in the frequency domain. Effects of the hydraulic engine mount system running over the rough road are investigated using a vehicle dynamic model. These results are compared with those of the rubber mount system.

  • In recent year, as the demand about low vibration and noise vehicle is increased constantly. automobile companies try to a lot of things to achieve this demand. Gear rattle vibration become an emergency problem to be cured at idling. There are two kinds method to reduce idle gear rattle vibration One is optimization of clutch damper design parameters(stiffness, hysteresis torque, preload, length of lst stage) the other is system parameters modification(inertia, drag torque, backlash, etc) But these methods are impossible to estimate influence rate of each gearpair on the idle gear rattle vibration. In this study, 14degrees of freedom nonlinear model is developed to analyze influnce rate of each gearpair on the idle gear rattle vibration and the counterplan to reduce the gear noise is suggeted through the shift system modification.

  • This paper presents an active suspension control algorithm to improve the suspension performance trade-offs between riding comfort and handling stability. In this paper, a hybrid control scheme is proposed, the idea of which is that sliding mode control is used for nonlinear hydraulic system and the skyhook control is applied to control the vehicle behavior. The parameter variations in hydraulic system are considered for the robust controller design. The performance of the proposed control method is evaluated by simulation and experiments based on a half car roll model which can reveal both heave and roll behavior.

  • This study is about an optimum design to improve the kinematic and compliance characteristics of a torsion-beam suspension system. The kinematic and compliance characteristics of an initial design of the suspension was obtained through a roll-mode analysis. The objective function was set to minimize within design constraints. The coordinates of the connecting point between the torsion-beam and the trailing arm were treated as design parameters. Since the torsion-beam suspension has large nonlinear effects due to kinematic and elastic motion, Genetic Algorithms were employed for the optimal design. The optimized results were verified through a double-lane change simulation using the full vehicle model.

  • In this paper, a ship-cable-vehicle system's static configuration is shown obtained by solving cable nonlinear statics. Eigenfrequencies of the cable were calculated by the frequency domain analysis application of the linearized cable dynamic equations. Also extreme tensions in a slack-and-snapping long vertical cable were calculated by the clip-ping-off model.

  • This paper describes a hydrodynamic modelling study based on the Feldman's equation to predict the nonlinear and coupled maneuvering characteristics of high speed submarine. The hydrodynamic coefficients set is obtained from the modeling of the cross flow drag force and sail induced vorticity, and the captive model experiments(VPMM and RA test) results used to improved the accuracy. The results contained in this paper will be helpful to predict the behavior of tight turn maneuver and to improve the SOE(Safety Operational Envelope) analysis in case of emergency maneuver.

  • The development of railway vehicles involves the proper selection of design parameters not only to achieve high speed but also to reduce the vibration of the train. In this study an analytical model of a freight car is developed to find the critical speed. The freight car can generate the snake motion of the lateral and yawing motion of the car body, the bogie, and the wheelset. Numerical analysis for the nonlinear equation motions with 17 degrees of freedom showed the running stability and critical speed due to the snake motion. Also, the vibration modes of the freight car was calculated using ADAMS/RAIL, which showed that the critical speed have the yawing modes of the car body and the bogie. Finally this paper shows that the snake motion of the vehicle can be controlled with the modifications of the design parameters.

  • All adaptive neural network controller has been developed for a model of an underwater vehicle. This controller combines a radial basis neural network and sliding mode control techniques. No prior off-line training phase is required, and this scheme exploits the advantages of both neural network control and sliding mode control. An on-line stable adaptive law is derived using Lyapunov theory. The number of neurons and the width of Gaussian function should be chosen carefully. Performance of the controller is demonstrated through computer simulation.

  • A robust adaptive technique for the longitudinal control of a platoon of automated vehicles is presented. A nonlinear model is used to represent the dynamics of each vehicle within the platoon. The external disturbances such as wind gust and a disturbance term due to engine transmission variations and so on are considered. The state observer is used to avoid direct measurement of the relative velocity or acceleration between the controlled and leading vehicles or the controlled vehicles's acceleration. The proposed controller guarantees to recover platoon stability in operation even if a speed dependent spacing policy is adopted, which incorporates a constant time headway in addition to the constant distance. It is shown that the proposed observer is exponentially stable, and the at the robust adaptive controller is stable. The simulation results demonstrate excellent tracking even in the presence of disturbances.
