A Current Controller with the Compensation of the Input Voltage Unbalance and Distortion for Three Phase PWM Rectifier (전원전압의 불평형 및 왜곡 보상기능을 갖는 3상 PWM 정류기의 전류제어기)

  • In this paper, a new current controller with the compensation of an unbalance and distorted grid voltages has been proposed. Generally, in the three-phase power system, single phase or nonlinear loads can be connected with the 3 phase linear load simultaneously on the same point of common coupling. Therefore, The source voltage unbalance and distortion problem can be occurred. Under these unbalance and distorted grid voltage conditions, the input current of 3 phase PWM rectifiers also have unbalance and distortion. In this paper, a current controller with the simple Model Reference Adaptive System based unbalance and distorted voltages observer is proposed to get a sinusoidal input current. The performance of the proposed algorithm is verified through the simulation and the experiment.

  • It is important to consider the nonlinear effects of the HPA(High Power Amplifier) in the OFDM communication systems and other digital communication systems as well. In this paper, we investigate a new performance figure-of$.$merit(D) that reflects both power and spectrum efficiencies. The performance figure-of-merit is expressed to include the spectrum and power efficiencies that depend on the magnitude of IBO(Input Backoff) and the number of subcarriers. So, we analyze the variation characteristics of the power efficiency and spectrum efficiency which has the tradeoff relationship.

  • Generally, series reactor is connected to the power capacitor in series to attenuate the distortion of voltage waveform and to reduce an inrush current of power capacitor. Also, harmonic current of power capacitor is highly dependent on the series reactor because it is operated with the power capacitor as a passive filter against nonlinear loads. In this paper, harmonic current of power capacitor from nonlinear loads is analyzed by the computer simulation and is experimentally verified.

  • Capacitor is basically used for the power-factor compensation and sometimes as the passive filter to reduce harmonics of nonlinear load. Since the impedance of capacitor is inversely proportional to the frequency. The harmonic current may result in the problems of voltage distortion and resonance. Capacitor has easily fall under by two harmonic components, a nonlinear load and a distorted utility voltage. The amplified harmonic current and voltage may damage power capacitor. Hence the pre-investigation of harmonic is needed before designing and application the power factor for reducing fault rate. In this paper, we analyzed that voltage and current with harmonics components act on the capacitor under the resonance condition. we concluded that both voltage and current harmonics have an bad effect on the capacitor and current harmonics is a bitter rather than effect by voltage harmonics.

Dispersion-Managed Links for WDM Transmission Arranged by Linearly or Nonlinearly Incremented Residual Dispersion per Span

  • Combining dispersion-managed optical links with midway optical phase conjugation (OPC) is a possible method of compensating for optical signal distortion due to group velocity dispersion and nonlinear Kerr effects. Although an improvement in the performance of these optical links has been reported, the fixed residual dispersion per span (RDPS) that is typically used restricts the flexibility of link configurations. Thus, in this paper, a flexible dispersion-managed link configuration, comprising artificial distributions of linearly/nonlinearly incremented RDPS, is proposed. Simulations show that a descending distribution of RDPS before the midway OPC, and an ascending distribution of RDPS after the midway OPC, gives the best artificial distribution pattern as the number of fiber spans is increased, regardless of the RDPS incrementation method.

  • An air-data estimator for generic air-breathing hypersonic vehicles (AHSVs) is developed and demonstrated with an example vehicle configuration. The AHSV air-data estimation strategy emphasized improvement of the angle of attack estimate accuracy to a degree necessitated by the stringent operational requirements of the air-breathing propulsion. the resulting estimation problem involves highly nonlinear diffusion process (propagation); consequently, significant distortion of a posteriori conditional density is suspected. A simulation based statistical analysis tool is developed to characterize the nonlinear diffusion process. The statistical analysis results indicate that the diffusion process preserves the symmetry and unimodality of initial probability density shape state variables, and provide the basis for applicability of an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). An EKF is designed for the AHSV air-data system and the air data estimation capabilities are demonstrated.

  • 본 논문에서는 볼테라 비선형 시스템의 선형화를 위한 새로운 적응 선행처리 기법을 제시한다. 특히, 제안된 적응 선행처리 기법은 (i) 순수 비선형 왜곡 보상을 위한 부분(pure nonlinear distortion compensator: PNDC)과, (ii) 선형 왜곡 보상을 위한 선형 역필터(linear inverse filter: LIF)의 두 부분으로 구성된다. 본 논문의 선형화 기법의 장점으로는 기존의 P차 역(Pth-order inverse) 기법에 비하여 계산량이 상당히 감소되며, 적응 알고리듬이 보다 빠르고 안정된 수렴 특성을 나타낸다. 끝으로, 모의실험을 통하여, 제안된 선행처리 기법의 성능및 실제 적용 가능성을 살펴본다.

Implementation of a Linearized Power Amplifier using a Adaptive Digital Predistorter (적응 디지틀 전치왜곡기를 이용한 선형화된 전력증폭기의 구현)

  • In this paper, the linearized power amplifier using digital adaptive predistorter is implemented in order to restrict spectral spreading and adjacent channel interference. The linearized systems is composed of a DSP56001 processor that executes predistortion in baseband. 90.deg. phase shifter, power splitter/combiner, quadrature modulator/demodulator of 360MHz band, and nonlinear amplifier. A ${\pi}$/4-shift QPSK is used to modulate digital random signals. As the quantized power of baseband signal and the output of amplifier are fed to the predistorter, and predistorting values are calculated using an adaptive algorithm. In the experiment, a peak to sidelobe ratio of the linearized amplifier is improved up to 15dB in comparison with conventional nonlinear amplifier, which means that the distortion of transmitted signal is decreased and adjacent channel interference was reduced.

A Camera Calibration Method using Several Images for Three Dimensional Measurement (여러 장의 영상을 사용하는 3차원 계측용 카메라 교정방법)

  • This paper presents a camera calibration method using several images for three dimensional measurement applications such as stereo systems, mobile robots, and visual inspection systems in factories. Conventional calibration methods that use single image suffer from errors related to reference point extraction in image, lens distortion, and numerical analysis of nonlinear optimization. The camera parameter values obtained from images of same camera is not same even though we use same calibration method. The camera parameters that are obtained from several images of different view for a calibration target is usaully not same with large error values and we can not assume a special probabilistic distribution when we estimate the parameter values. In this paper, the median value of camera parameters from several images is used to improve estimation of the camera values in an iterative step with nonlinear optimization. The proposed method is proved by experiments using real images.

Phase Error Reduction for Multi-frequency Fringe Projection Profilometry Using Adaptive Compensation

  • A new multi-frequency fringe projection method is proposed to reduce the nonlinear phase error in 3-D shape measurements using an adaptive compensation method. The phase error of the traditional fringe projection technique originates from various sources such as lens distortion, the nonlinear imaging system and a nonsinusoidal fringe pattern that can be very difficult to model. Inherent possibility of phase error appearing hinders one from accurate 3-D reconstruction. In this work, an adaptive compensation algorithm is introduced to reduce adaptively the phase error resulting from the fringe projection profilometry. Three different frequencies are used for generating the gratings of projector and conveyed to the four-step phase-shifting procedure to measure the objects of very discontinuous surfaces. The 3-D shape results show that this proposed technique succeeds in reconstructing the 3-D shape of any type of objects.
