A new simple control method for active power filter, which can realize the complete compensation of harmonics is proposed. In the proposed scheme, a model-based digital current control strategy is presented. The proposed control system is designed and implemented in a form referred to as internal model control structure. This method provides a convenient way for parameterizing the controller in term of the nominal system model, including time-delays. As a result, the resulting controller parameters are directly set based on the power circuit parameters, which make tuning of the controllers straightforward task. In the proposed control algorithm, overshoots and oscillations due to the computation time delay is prevented by explicit incorporating of the delay in the controller transfer function. In addition, a new compensating current reference generator employing resonance model implemented by a DSP(Digital Signal Processor) is introduced. Resonance model has an infinite gain at resonant frequency, and it exhibits a band-pass filter. Consequently, the difference between the instantaneous load current and the output of this model is the current reference signal for the harmonic compensation.
In this paper, the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method for lead battery of the solar cell generator equipment is proposed. And we propose the control circuit and design method of insulated switching mode convert type pulse charger by fly-back convert method in the lead battery. The proposed system can minimize the current consumption by digital pulse. Also the proposed system can generate the constant 10[KHz] frequency, transmit the signal with main control system in the power control system. And it supervises the state of lead battery using one chip micro processor. The proposed the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by the fly-back converter method can charge fast and stabilize lead battery with nominal value 12[V], 20[AH]. Also we propose the design procedure of the power control circuit for turn ratio of fly-back inductor and determining method of values such as the charging current, bulk current, partial current, over current value and fixed charging voltage. The experiment results for the voltage and current wave for partial, bulk, over and fixed charging period show the good charging effect and performance. And the PCB and internal coupling diagram of the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method is presented.
This paper presents a radio frequency-to-direct current (RF-to-DC) converter for special RF power harvesting application at 915 MHz. The major featured components of the proposed RF-to-DC converter is the combination of a cross-coupled rectifier and an active diode: first, the cross-coupled rectifier boosts the input voltage to desired level, and an active diode blocks the reverse current, respectively. A prototype was implemented using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology, and the performance was proven from the fact that the targeted RF harvesting system's full-operation with higher power efficiency; even if the system's input power gets lower (e.g., from nominal 0 to min. -12 dBm), the proposed RF-to-DC converter constantly provides 1.47 V, which is exactly the voltage level to drive follow up system components like DC-to-DC converter and so on. And, maximum power conversion efficiency is 82 % calculated from the 0 dBm input power, 2.3 mA load current.
Dielectric ceramics with nominal composition of $(Ba_{0.93}Sr_{0.07}O)-0.5Sm_2O_3-4.5TiO_2$ was prepared using the conventional mixed oxide process-derived powder. Effect of $SiO_2$, $MnO_2$ and $Al_2O_3$ impurity addition on the microwave properties was examined in some detail. Measured relative permittivity $(\varepsilon_r)$ values were in the range of 53 to 59 and showed little dependence on impurity addition. In contrast, quality factor $(Q{\cdot}f)$ and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency $(\tau_f)$ values were greatly influenced by the type and the amount of impurities. It was found that 0.1~0.2wt% addition of $Al_2O_3$ was most effective for improving the properties, where ${\varepsilon}_r$, $Q{\cdot}f$ and $\tau_f$ values were 57.7, 10000, and +7ppm/$^{\circ}C$, respectively.
Micro-hole drilling (holes less than 0.5 mm in diameter with aspect ratios larger than 10) is gaining increased attention in a wide spectrum of precision production industries. Alternative methods such as EDM, laser drilling, etc. can sometimes replace mechanical micro-hole drilling but are not acceptable in PCB manufacture because they yield inferior hole quality and accuracy. The major difficulties in micro-hold drilling are related to wandering motions during the inlet stage, high aspect ratios, high temperature, etc. However, of all the difficulties, the most undesirable one is the increase of drilling force as the drill penetrates deeper into hold. This is caused mainly by chip related effects. Peck-drilling is thus widely used for deep hole drilling despite the fact that it leads to low productivity. Therefore, in this paper, a method of cutting force regulation is proposed to achieve continuous drilling. A proportional plus derivative (PD) and a sliding modecontrol algorithm will be implemented for controlling the spinle rotational frequeency. Experimental results will show that sliding mode control reduces the nominal cutting force and its variation better than the PD control, resulting in a number of advantages such as an increase in drill life, fast stabilization of the wandering motion, and precise positioning of the hole.
An 1.8V 6bit IGSPS ADC for high speed data acquisition is discussed in this paper. This ADC is based on a flash ADC architecture because the flash ADC is the only practical architecture at conversion rates of IGSPS and beyond. A straightforward 6bit full flash A/D converter consists of two resistive ladders with 63 laps, 63 comparators and digital blocks. One important source of errors in flash A/D converter is caused by the capacitive feedthrough of the high frequency input signal to the resistive reference-lauder. Consequently. the voltage at each tap of the ladder network can change its nominal DC value. This means large transistors have a large parasitic capacitance. Therefore, a dual resistive ladder with capacitor is employed to fix the DC value. Each resistive ladder generates 32 clean reference voltages which alternates with each other. And a two-stage amplifier is also used to reduce the effect of the capacitive feedthrough by minimizing the size of MOS connected to reference voltage. The proposed ADC is based on 0.18${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ 1-poly 6-metal n-well CMOS technology, and it consumes 307㎽ at 1.8V power supply.
This paper intends to investigate the effects of speed fluctuation caused by the cogging torque in permanent magnetic motors on the stability of the transverse vibration for a spinning disk. Based on the Kirchhoff\`s plate theory and the assumed mode methods, a set of discretized equations of motion were derived for an annular disk rotating with a harmonically varying speed. Then, a perturbation method using the multiple time scales was employed and stability boundaries were determined explicitly in terms of the magnitude and frequency of speed fluctuation, a nominal sped and the modal characteristics of the disk. It is found that parametric resonance occurs at several speed ranges and a single mode or a combination of two modes are involved to cause instability. It is also observed that unstable regions become broadened as the spinning speed increases or two modes are combined in parametric instability. As numerical simulations, stability analysis of a conventional CD-ROM drive was performed. Results of this work can e used as guidelines for motor design and operations with low vibration.
Micro-hole drilling (holes less than 0.5 mm in diameter with aspect ratio larger than 10) is recently having more attention in a wide spectrum of precision production industries. Alternative methods such as EDM. laser drilling, etc. can sometimes replace the mechanical micro-hole drilling but are not acceptable in PCB manufacture because of the inferior hole quality and accuracy. The major difficulties in micro-hole drilling are related to small signal to noise ratios, wandering motions of the inlet stage, high aspect ratios, high temperatures and so forth. Of all the difficulties. the most undesirable one is the increase of drilling force as the drill proceeds deeper into the hole. This is caused mainly from the chip effects. Peck-drilling is thus widely used for deep hole drilling despite that it suffers from low productivity. In the paper, a method of cutting force regulation is proposed to achieve continuous drilling. A PD and a sliding mode control algorithms were implemented through controlling the spindle rotating frequency. Experimental results show that the sliding mode control reduces the nominal cutting force and the variation of the cutting force better than the PD control. The advantages of the regulation, such as increase of drill life, fast stabilization of a wandering motion, and the precise positioning of the hole are verified in experiment.
This study investigated dietary patterns among the elderly over 75 years old living in Jeollanam-do area in May 2012. Although structured interviews were conducted with 236 consenting subjects, only 194 who completed the ADL, IADL, and K-MMSE tests were used for statistical data analysis. Using ADL, IADL, K-MMSE scores, cluster analysis was first performed and resulted in two groups: IFG (Insufficiently Functioning Group) and SFG (Sufficiently Functioning Group). Chi-square tests for nominal scales, Mann-Whitney tests for ordinal scales, and ANOVAs and t-tests for interval and ratio scales were conducted to compare two groups. More than 70% of IFG were illiterates compared to 28.1% of SFG. 'Excessive eating', 'appetite', 'digestion', and 'balanced diet' did not differ between groups. SFG more frequently had snacks and ate out and were more likely to take health supplements than IFG. Among the 100 major food items, consumption frequencies of several foods differed between groups. Study implications and limitations were discussed.
