A structure and signal processing of directional linear array for left/right discrimination in low frequency band (저주파 대역에서 좌/우 구분이 가능한 지향성배열센서 구조 및 신호처리 기법)

  • A new directional linear array structure and its signal processing method are presented to resolve the left/right ambiguity inherent in a linear array. The array structure combines an ordinary acoustic sensor array with a DIFAR (Directional Frequency Analysis and Recording) sensor array, keeping a linear array configuration and gaining a instantaneous left/right discrimination. It presents better PSRR (Port-Starboard Rejection Ratio) in low frequency band and low SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) situation as compared with a conventional twin linear array, and good compromise to easily upgrade an existing linear array system to a new one with a left/right discrimination capability.

  • This paper presents a novel diagnostic technique for monitoring the system conditions and detecting failure modes and precursors based on wavelet-packet analysis of external noise/vibration measurements. The capability is based on extracting relevant features of noise/vibration data that best discriminate systems with different noise/vibration signatures by analyzing external measurements of noise/vibration in the time-frequency domain. By virtue of their localized nature both in time and frequency, the identified features help to reveal faults at the level of components in a mechanical system in addition to the existence of certain faults. A prima-facie case is made via application of the proposed approach to fault detection in scroll and rotary compressors, although the methods and algorithms are very general in nature. The proposed technique has successfully identified the existence of specific faults in the scroll and rotary compressors. In addition, its capability of tracking the severity of specific faults in the rotary compressors indicates that the technique has a potential to be used as a prognostic tool.

Determining the Required Minimum Spacing between Freeway Interchange for High-speed Roadway (초고속 주행환경에서의 진출입 시설간 적정 이격거리 기준 산정 연구)

  • PURPOSES: The objective of this study is to estimate required minimum spacing between Freeway IC for high-speed roadways. METHODS : Since high-speed roadways with over 140 km/h design speed do not exist in Korea, VISSIM Simulation Program was used for analysis. Acceleration noise and conflicts were selected for Evaluation Index. Standard deviation size for acceleration and deceleration was calculated by VISSIM to estimate acceleration noise. Conflicts were produced in areas between Freeway IC with SSAM. RESULTS : As a result, required minimum spacing was 6 km for acceleration noise analysis, while 5 km was deducted for conflict analysis. For Model Evaluation, with SAS, conflicts did not show much difference in 5~6 km area by 90% confidence interval. CONCLUSIONS : For acceleration noise, results showed lacking in its discrimination between index per Minimum Spacing. However, conflicts were valid in difference; required minimum spacing was 5 km by validation result.

  • Joint transform correlator (JTC) has been the most suitable technique for real time pattern recognition. This paper proposes a new phase adjustment which adopts two steps of random phase adjustment in the spatial domain and additional phase adjustment in the Fourier domain. Simulated results are presented to show the optimum condition of the phase adjustment and the effect on the correlation peaks, the peak signal-to-noise ratio and the level of discrimination.

  • OO변전소 154 kV GIS에서 부분방전측정 수행을 하였다. GIS내부 결함유무 및 위치를 판정하기 위해 현장 정밀측정을 한 결과 GIS 내부에서 발생하는 부분방전신호가 아닌 외부노이즈임을 세가지 측정방법을 통해 판별할 수 있었다.

  • A new picking algorithm has been developed on real-time basis for finding the onset of P wave as well as discriminating the micro seismic signal from artificial noise. Unlike the previous methods which have used the STA/LTA ratio for discriminating the P arrivals, we have adopted the slope discrimination methods for identifying the P onset. As result, this algorithm has been turned out to be efficient in both accuracy and computation in on-line system.

저속회전베어링의 전동면 이상진단에 관한 연구 -웨이브렛과 패턴인식법의 적용-

  • 베어링은 산업현장에서 널리 쓰여지는 중요 부품이다. 따라서 이의 결함에 따른 손실을 예방하기 위해서는 이상을 진단하고 검지하는 기법이 요구된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 저속회전하므로 노이즈가 많이 포함되어 절상상태의 신호검출이 어려운 저속회전베어링의 외륜이상을 웨이브렛의 Denoising 기법을 적용하여 정량적으로 진단하고 패턴인식법 중의 하나인 KDI(Kullback Discrimination Information)를 적용하여 이상상태의 진단/검지능력을 시험해 보았다. 웨이브랫의 Denoising 기법은 노이즈 캔셀링(Noise canceling)이 능력이 뛰어났고, HDI기법은 저속회전베어링의 정상과 이상의 분류에 뛰어난 검지능력이 있음을 알 수 있었다.(중략)

  • Recent progress in digital and VLSI technology has offered new possibility fer noticeable advance of hearing aids. Yet, environmental noise remains one of the major problems to hearing aid users. This paper describes results which speech recognition performance and speech discrimination performance was measured for listeners with sensorineural hearing loss, while listeners in speech-band noise. In addition, to ameliorate hearing-aided environments of hearing impaired listeners, environmental noise reduction using speech enhancement techniques are investigated as a front-end of conventional hearing aids. Speech enhancement techniques are implemented in a realtime system equipped with DSP board. The clinical test results suggest that the speech enhancement technique may work in synergy with gain functions fer the greater SNR improvement as the preprocessing algorithm of digital hearing aids.

  • Tire hydroplaning is one of the most important tire performances, especially for safety on wet road surface. And nowadays various methods such as FEM and FVM analysis are being applied to design and improve tire hydroplaning performance, along with on-vehicle test of tire hydroplaning. Conventional evaluation of tire hydroplaning has been done by comparing peak lateral acceleration and vehicle speed in time domain. But in this paper, frequency domain analysis of lateral acceleration when hydroplaning at high speed has been carried out to get the quantitative comparison between test tires. And it is concluded that the frequency spectrum analysis of lateral acceleration gives much better discrimination, as compared to the conventional time domain analysis of lateral acceleration and vehicle speed.

  • This paper proposes an regional analytic approach in image data space for radiographic image. Image is segmented into four regions, such as background, thickness, weld area and tube area, due to directional properties. Each region has its own gray level distribution, contrast range and noise property, originated from X-ray project mechanism and electric control system itself. Projection incorrectness and noise influence included on imaging quality is analyzed functionally and statistically. The experimental results shows not only segmental effects, but also visual edge evaluation.
