The supersonic combustion experiments are carried out using T3 free-piston shock tunnel. Hydrogen Fuel is injected in the cavity parallel with air(or nitrogen fuel) flow. The equivalence ratios in this study are 0.132 and 0.447. Experimental measurements use OH-PLIF near the cavity and pressures in the combustor. For parallel fuel injection case, direct fuel add into cavity leads to increase of cavity pressure. And Flame exists just near the bottom wall for low equivalent ratio. There is no flame in the cavity because of no mixing in it. Compared to the inclined fuel injection, ignition delay length is longer for low equivalence ratio in both case. OH distribution is not a single line but a repeatable fluctuation flame structure by turbulence. Pressure distributions have nothing to do with the fuel injection position.
In this paper, the pumping performance of the disk-type drag pump which works in the outlet pressure range from 4 to 0.001 Torr is studied experimentally. The pumping characteristics of various drag pumps are performed. The inlet pressures are measured for various outlet pressures of the test pump. The flow-meter method is adopted to calculate the pumping speed. Compression ratios and pumping speeds for the nitrogen gas are measured. The present experimental data show the leak-limited value of the compression ratio in the molecular transition region. The rotational speed of the pump is 24,000rpm. The inlet pressures are measured for various outlet pressures of the test pump. The ultimate Pressures for zero throughput are measured for three-stage, two-stage and single-stage disk-type, respectively.
The submerged injection smelting process was performed to recover Zn and Pb from steel dust throuth vaporization and to investigate the effect of temperature, slag composition, injection time, gas flow rate, etc. on the recoveries of valuable metals. The results show that vaporation rates of zinc and lead increased at higher temperture and higher moral ratio of ferrous to ferric oxides. In the initial stage of submerged injection of nitrogen gas, the molten slags of the dust have high value of molar ratio of $Fe^{2+}$/$Fe^{3+}$ and hence zinc and lead can be effectively recovered.
Ge is one of the attractive channel materials for the next generation high speed metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs) due to its higher carrier mobility than Si. But the absence of a chemically stable thermal oxide has been the main obstacle hindering the use of Ge channels in MOS devices. Especially, the fabrication of gate oxide on Ge with high quality interface is essential requirement. In this study, $HfO_xN_y$ thin films were prepared by plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition on Ge substrate. The nitrogen was incorporated in situ during PE-ALD by using the mixture of nitrogen and oxygen plasma as a reactant. The effects of nitrogen to oxygen gas ratio were studied focusing on the improvements on the electrical and interface properties. When the nitrogen to oxygen gas flow ratio was 1, we obtained good quality with 10% EOT reduction. Additional analysis techniques including X-ray photoemission spectroscopy and high resolution transmission electron microscopy were used for chemical and microstructural analysis.

The performance of Lean NOx Trap (LNT) based on the catalysts of Pt/K/Ba/$\gamma-Al_2O_3$ with proprietary washcoat formulation is studied using a bench flow reactor system. To investigate the effect of temperature and gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) on the nitrogen oxides (NOx) trapping capacity as well as NOx breakthrough time and final ratio of $NO_2$ to NO of LNT, series of adsorption isotherms are carried out with simulated exhaust gases of the lean burn engines. Since typical operation of LNT requires periodic regeneration with a short rich excursion, where the stored or trapped NOx is released and subsequently reduced to $N_2$, the effect of the duration of lean and rich phase and type of reductants on the NOx conversion is investigated. NOx storage capacity and breakthrough time obtained from adsorption isotherms shows a volcano-type dependence on the temperature with a maximum NOx storage capacity occurring $350^{\circ}C$ and with a maximum breakthrough time occurring $400^{\circ}C$ at all GHSVs investigated in this study. Also, maximum ratio of $NO_2$ to NO is obtained at $400^{\circ}C$ with a GHSV of $75,000\;hr^{-1}$ Lean/rich cycle of 100 s lean and 5 s rich used with a concentration of 1.33% of $H_2$ and 4% of CO in the rich phase is found to be optimum at operating temperature of $350^{\circ}C$ and a GHSV of $50,000\;hr^{-1}$.
Recent findings have shown that microbial nitrogen flow and digestible energy of diets are increased when urea is combined with a slow-release urea (SRU) in diets with a starch to acid detergent fibre ratio (S:F) 4:1. This affect is attributable to enhanced synchrony between ruminal N availability for microbial growth and carbohydrate degradation. To verify the magnitude of this effects on lamb performance, an experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of combining urea and a SRU in diets containing S:F ratios of 3:1, 4:1, or 5:1 on performance, dietary energetics and carcass characteristics of finishing lambs. For that, 40 Pelibuey${\times}$Katahdin lambs ($36.65{\pm}3kg$) were assigned to one of five weight groupings in 20 pens (5 repetition/treatments). The S:F ratio in the diet was manipulated by partially replacing the corn grain and dried distiller's grain with solubles by forage (wheat straw) and soybean meal to reach S:F ratios of 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1. An additional treatment of 4:1 S:F ratio with 0.8% urea as the sole source of non-protein nitrogen was used as a reference for comparing the effect of urea combination vs. conventional urea at the same S:F ratio. There were no treatment effects on dry matter intake (DMI). Compared the urea combination vs urea at the same S:F ratio, urea combination increased (p<0.01) average daily gain (ADG, 18.3%), gain for feed (G:F, 9.5%), and apparent energy retention per unit DMI (8.2%). Irrespective of the S:F ratio, the urea combination improved the observed-to-expected dietary ratio and apparent retention per unit DMI was maximal (quadratic effect, $p{\leq}0.03$) at an S:F ratio of 4:1, while the conventional urea treatment did not modify the observed-to-expected net energy ratio nor the apparent retention per unit DMI at 4:1 S:F ratio. Urea combination group tended (3.8%, p = 0.08) to have heavier carcasses with no effects on the rest of carcass characteristics. As S:F ratio increased, ADG, G:F, dietary net energy, carcass weight, dressing percentage and longissimus thoracis (LM) area increased linearly ($p{\leq}0.02$). Combining urea and a slow-release urea product results in positive effects on growth performance and dietary energetics, but the best responses are apparently observed when there is a certain proportion (S:F ratio = 4:1) of starch to acid detergent fibre in the diet.

Numerical studies were conducted to investigate the internal flow field and combustion characteristics of DISI engine with methanol blended in gasoline. Dual injection was applied and the characteristics were compared to single injection strategy. The amount of the fuel injection was corresponded to air-fuel ratio of each fuel for complete combustion. The preforming model in this study, software STAR-CD was employed for both modeling and solving. The operating speed condition were at 4000 rpm/WOT (Wide open throttle) where the engine was fully warmed. The results of single injection with M28 showed that the uniformity, equivalence ratio, in-cylinder pressure and temperature increased comparing to gasoline (M0). When dual injection was applied, there was no significant change in uniformity and equivalence ratio but the in-cylinder pressure and temperature increased. When M28 fuel and single injection was applied, the CO (Carbon monoxide) and NO (Nitrogen oxides) emission inside the combustion chamber increased approximately 36%, 9% comparing with benchmarking case in cylinder prior to TWC (Three Way Catalytic converter). When dual stage injection was applied, both CO and NO emission amount increased.
The purpose of the present study is to elucidate flue gas recirculation device for reduction of nitrogen oxides using coanda nozzle without adopting additional power driving fan in a waste incinerator. The characteristics of the exhaust gas recirculation flow rate and the average temperature change at the outlet of the mixed gas were investigated according to the change of air supply nozzle gap and the position of air supply nozzle. When the gap of the air supply nozzle was changed to 3.22, 4.03, and 4.84 mm, the largest recirculation flow ratio, which is the ratio of exhaust gas recirculation flow rate and air supply flow rate, was 2.227 for the case with 3.22 mm and its mean temperature at outlet was $594.8^{\circ}C$. When the position of the air supply nozzle changes to the front position, neck position, and expansion position of the coanda nozzle neck, the recirculation flow ratios at the forward position and the neck position were nearly almost the same value, 1.843, and 1.696 at the expansion position, their mean temperatures were $559.8^{\circ}C$ and $544.3^{\circ}C$, respectively.

The eight mixes and artificial soil aggregates were prepared for evaluating the practical application of lightweight foamed concrete as soil aggregates. The main parameter was unit binder content ranged between from 100 to $800kg/m^3$. In lightweight foamed concrete, flow, slurry and dried density, and compressive strength at different ages were measured. In Artificial soil aggregates crushed from lightweight foamed concrete, particle size distribution, pH, coefficient of permeability, cation exchange capacity(CEC), and ratio of carbon to nitrogen(ratio of C/N), were measured. The test results showed that flow, slurry and dried density, and compressive strength at different ages of lightweight foamed concrete increased with the increasing of unit binder content. Compressive strength at age of 28, of lightweight foamed concrete with unit binder of more than $500kg/m^3$, was more than 4 MPa. The ammonium phosphate immersion time of more than age of 3, was effective to decrease pH of artificial soil aggregates. In addition, artificial soil aggregates was evaluated as high class in terms of cation exchange capacity(CEC), while satisfied with value of ratio of carbon to nitrogen(ratio of C/N) recommended by landscape specification.
2:1 clay minerals such as smectite incorporating ammonium were extracted to investigate the ammonium behavior and nitrogen isotope characteristics for two different sediment cores which were collected from shimmering sites on seafloor of the Wakamiko crater, southwestern Japan. Inorganic nitrogen contents in clay fraction were estimated by calibration curve based on consistently decreasing carbon and nitrogen ratio during the treatment to decompose organic materials, after removing inorganic carbon. The results show that the proportions of inorganic nitrogen for total nitrogen in clay fraction of SWS site(Core#1094MR: av. 18.2%) are higher than those in SES site(Core#1093MG: av. 11.5%). Relatively good crystallinity of the former suggests that exchangeable ammonium was transformed to non-exchangeable ammonium during more evolving diagenetic process. Nitrogen isotope variance of clay fraction(SES site: Core#1093MG: -4.4 ~ +0.2 ‰, av. -2.4 ‰; SWS site: Core#1094MR: -0.7 ~ +3.0 ‰, av. +1.5 ‰) during sequential decomposition of exchangeable ammonium suggests that heat flow derived from deep magma led to nitrogen isotope fractionation between dissolved ammonium and ammonia in the fluids involved in the formation of 2:1 clay mineral incorporating ammonium with local temperature variation.
