  • 차세대 반도체 공정인 450mm 웨이퍼 생산 환경의 가장 큰 특징은 반도체 생산의 전 공정에 대한 완전 자동화이다. 이러한 완전 자동화는 작업자의 공정개입을 불가능하게 하고 개별 웨이퍼의 중요도를 크게 증가시키며 전체 반도체 생산 공정에 대한 견고한 디스패칭 시스템을 필요로 한다. 또한, 차세대 반도체 공정의 디스패칭 시스템은 개별 웨이퍼에 대한 실시간 모니터링과 데이터 수집이 가능해야 하며, 수집된 반도체 공정의 정보를 반영한 실시간 디스패칭이 가능해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 차세대 반도체 환경인 450mm 웨이퍼 생산 환경에서 중요한 역할을 하는 클러스터 툴에 대해 분석하고 클러스터 툴에서 웨이퍼의 작업순서를 결정할 수 있는 디스패칭 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • NGS(Next Generation Storage) 시스템은 전형적인 분산파일 시스템 구조의 병목 현상을 제거하고 입출력 대역폭을 늘려 성능을 최대화 하기 위한 차세대 저장시스템으로 기존의 저장시스템과는 달리 DRAM을 기반으로 스토리지를 구성하고 있다. NGS 시스템의 대용량 지원 및 기업 내부에서의 활용을 위해서는 SAN 기반에서 활용할 수 있도록 설계되어야 하며, SAN 환경에서 성능 향상을 위한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 NGS 시스템에 대한 성능평가 및 분산 환경에서 NGS 를 활용하기 위한 성능평가도구 개발을 기술한다. 성능 도구의 활용은 전형적인 전체 시스템 아키텍처 내의 병목 현상을 제거하고 입출력 대역폭을 늘려 성능을 최대화 할 수 있어야 한다.

A Study on Various Structural Characteristics of 100W Linear Generator for Vehicle Suspension (차량 현가장치적용 100W급 선형발전기의 다양한 구조 특성)

  • Recently, the demand for electric energy has been increasing due to the spread of hybrid electric vehicles. In this study, to meet this demand, the ANSYS MAXWELL electromagnetic simulation system was used to compare the power generation characteristics of three types of suspension system that can generate electricity using energy harvesting technology. Next, the optimal design was determined for each model by using the commercial PIDO (Process Integration and Design Optimization) tool, PIANO (Process Integration, Automation and Optimization). We selected three design variables and constructed an approximate model based on the experimental design method through electromagnetic analysis for 18 experimental points derived from Orthogonal Arrays among the experimental design methods. Then, we determined the optimal design by applying the Evolutionary Algorithm. Finally, the optimal design results were verified by electromagnetic simulation of the optimum design result model using the same analysis conditions as those of the initial model. After comparing the power generation characteristics for the optimal structure for each linear generator model, the maximum power generation amounts in the 8pole-8slot, 12pole-12slot, and 16pole-16slot structures were 366.5W, 466.7W and 579.7W, respectively, and it was found that as the number of slots and poles increases, the power generation increases.

Consumers' preference about the attributes of 3rd generation device (3세대 디바이스의 속성별 소비자 선호 분석)

  • Third-generation (3G) devicesare next-generation devices that allow the use of intelligent services and applications through the Internet of Things (IoT). As the market forexisting smart devices like smartphones and tablet PCs enters the stage of stagnation, the world is now focusing on 3G devices, parts, and services. This study is intended to measure the user's benefits from the various attributes of 3G devices by applying an economic valuation method. For this purpose, the conjoint analysis method was applied, which is one of the representative valuation methods. To apply conjoint analysis, the following attributes of 3G devicesare considered: mode of use, power efficiency, life care, and price. By applying the mixed logit model, the marginal willingness-to-pay(WTP) for each attribute was derived. The results are statistically significant. Respondents showed a high preference or complete flexibility in the mode of use attribute. And they were also found to have WTP for improvements in the life care attribute. The implications and quantitative results of this study are expected to be useful for policies and strategies in the 3G device market.

Implications on the Technical Level of Industries and Industry-Academia Cooperation in Chungbuk Province (충북지역 산업체 기술수준과 산학협력에 관한 시사점)

  • In this study, the technical level and competence of Chungbuk region manufactures were diagnosed and implications for efficiency improvement of cooperation with local universities were derived. The results are as follow. First, in Chungbuk area, 75% of the skilled workers are medium-skilled and high skilled workers. And the life cycle of production products was found to have entered middle/old age. In addition, the industries were overestimating its technology capabilities, including marketing and sales technology, and management technology. Therefore, local universities should develop differentiated program such as technology transfer and commercialization support so that companies can nurture new industries and it is necessary to improve understanding of reality and future prediction ability through various education and seminars. Second, universities in Chungbuk province have failed to meet the practical demands of industry by providing general educational programs such as lifelong education curriculum, rather than the practical training required by industry. First of all, industries needed the practical training programs such as human resource empowerment, technical education and workers' retraining for local industry development. In addition, industries were expected to provide relevant knowledge and infrastructure such as testing, analysis, participation in technology development such as commissioning and joint research. Therefore, universities should prepare customized Industry-Academia Cooperation Programs through industry demand survey in planning. Also, it is necessary to establish various connection points with industry to ensure that industry-academia cooperation will continue and achieve results. Third, the technology of the industries in Chungbuk province was found to be very unrelated to the next generation regional strategic industries. This is not shared vision between industry and local government, Industry-Academia Cooperation Programs will serve as a platform to organize various community entities. Universities will be able to play a key role in between industries and local governments.

A Study on IR Characterization of Electrolyzed Water for Si Wafer Cleaning (전리수를 이용한 Si 웨이퍼 세정의 IR 특성연구)

  • A present semiconductor cleaning technology is based upon RCA cleaning technology which consumes vast amounts of chemicals and ultra pure water(UPW) and is the high temperature Process. Therefore, this technology gives rise to the many environmental issues, and some alternatives such as functional water cleaning are being studied. The electrolyzed water was generated by an electrolysis system which consists of anode, cathode, and middle chambers. Oxidative water and reductive water were obtained in anode and cathode chambers, respectively. In case of NH$_4$Cl electrolyte, the oxidation-reduction potential and pH for anode water(AW) and cathode water(CW) were measured to be +1050mV and 4.8, and -750mV and 10.0, respectively. AW and CW were deteriorated after electrolyzed, but maintained their characteristics for more than 40 minutes sufficiently enough for cleaning. Their deterioration was correlated with CO$_2$ concentration changes dissolved from air. It was known that AW was effective for Cu removal, while CW was more effective for Fe removal. The particle distributions after various particle removal processes maintained the same pattern. In this work, RCA consumed about 9$\ell$chemicals, while EW did only 400$m\ell$ HCI electrolyte or 600$m\ell$ NH$_4$Cl electrolyte. It was hence concluded that EW cleaning technology would be very effective for eliminating environment, safety, and health(ESH) issues in the next generation semiconductor manufacturing.

Computer Generated Hologram for Beam Control of LCOS based Wavelength Selective Switch (LCOS기반의 파장선택스위치 빔제어용 컴퓨터 생성 홀로그램)

  • This paper presents the design of a computer-generated hologram for beam control of an LCOS-based wavelength selective switch, which is the core technology for next-generation ROADM. By introducing a computer-generated hologram instead of general grating patterns to control the LCOS device, we contribute to building a more efficient wavelength selective switch. With the use of phase modulation properties of LCOS devices, we designed the hologram for five-port output and a 40-channel wavelength selective switch. We applied a multi-level phase modulation technique with the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm to produce the hologram, which is easily scalable to any different type of wavelength selective switch. With an experimental setup, we verified the usability of the hologram designed for five-port output. We also suggest a hologram design technique for beam control of a 40-channel wavelength selective switch.

An Analysis of Alternatives for the Acquisition of Naval Surface Ships based on a Multi-Objective Decision-Making Method (다목표 의사결정 방법론 기반의 수상함 획득대안 분석)

  • The process of an analysis of alternatives(AoA) attempts to select the best and balanced solution among a set of multiple candidate solutions under the constraints of cost, schedule, performance and risk(CSPR). The traditional AoA for the acquisition of a new weapon system has usually centered on the sequence of the requirement analysis, design synthesis, and cost estimation. An improved process for AoA is developed in this paper based on a multi-objective decision-making method, which is intended to be applied in the design concept refinement and material solution analysis stage for the acquisition of naval surface ships. The presentation of the proposed AoA approach is then followed by a case study for the next generation multi-purpose training ship based on the principles of systems engineering and also using the models of the effectiveness measure, cost estimation, and risk assessments.

  • Nowadays, the importance of role of the international standardization keeps increasing substantially. We have already known that international standards have a huge impact on many companies, industries and nations. So far, it has been thought that standardizations are needed after the new products come into the market and are mass-produced in order to encourage the use of the products, systems and services. Standardization will make the products more safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly for the users. However, in these days, a paradigm of the standardization has been changed. International standard becomes a tool for dominating global market and is the most important ingredients of the competitiveness and economic progress of the nation and enterprises. Many countries like Japan, Germany and U.S. use the standardization as an effective method to dominate the market and monopolized the new technologies. Therefore, worldwide competition for the standardization of the new technology become fierce. Korea is leading the technology in semiconductor field. However, activities of international standardization are not sufficient. In order to boost the standardization activities in Korea from industry, academia, and research institute, this paper briefly introduce the international standard organization and some critical issues for next-generation semiconductor memory such as flexible semiconductor, automobile semiconductor and wearable devices.

The Analysis of Acceleration Performance Resulted by Weight Variation for HEMU-430X high-speed train the Korea's next-generation electric multiple unit train (차세대 동력분산형 고속열차(HEMU-430X)의 중량변화에 따른 가속능력 분석)

  • This study reports the relationship between rollingstock weight and acceleration performance for HEMU-430X, the first electric multiple unit developed in Korea. While maintaining the consumed power, the total train weight was deliberately varied by 2%, by adding and removing weights, and the it was shown that the lighter train was found to have higher acceleration performance and hence better suited for maximum speed tests below the speed of 413km/h. According to the power consumption analysis based on the velocity data collected per 0.1 second, the balanced speed, when the traction force and air resistance become equal, was determined to be 419km/h for HEMU-430X, which is in agreement with tested result. It is expected that the analyses in this study will be utilized for the speed tests in the future.
