한국산 인도볼록진딧물속 (Indomegoura)을 정리하여 2종을 확인하였으며, 이 중 꼬마볼록진딧물 (I. nigrotibiae)을 한반도에서 처음으로 보고한다. 각 종에 대한 형태적 기술과 더불어 종 검색표를 작성하고, 기주식물 및 생활사에 대하여 논하였다.

New liquid crystal (LC) host mixtures and reactive mesogens (RMs) designed for the Polymer Sustainable Vertically Aligned (PS-VA) mode have been developed. The novel combination of LC host mixture with RMs enables to show superior LC display performance with high reliability and to contribute for the robust LC panel production process.

Two fungivorous Korean erotylid beetles-Triplax ainonia Lewis, 1887 and Triplax nagaoi Nakane, 1977 in the tribe Tritomini-were recorded for the first time from Korea. All Korean Triplax members are associated with the fruiting bodies of higher fungi and fungus-grown bark. Re-description, key to the species of Korean Triplax, photographs of adults, and line drawings of diagnostic characters and host fungi records are provided.

Finding new antimicrobial activities by functional metagenomics has been shown to depend on the heterologous host used to express the foreign DNA. Therefore, efforts are devoted to developing new tools for constructing metagenomic libraries in shuttle vectors replicatable in phylogenetically distinct hosts. Here we evaluated the use of the Escherichia coli-Bacillus subtilis shuttle vector pHT01 to construct a forest-soil metagenomic library. This library was screened in both hosts for antimicrobial activities against four opportunistic bacteria: Proteus vulgaris, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Micrococcus luteus. A new antibacterial activity against B. cereus was found upon screening in B. subtilis. The new antimicrobial agent, sensitive to proteinase K, was not active when the corresponding DNA fragment was expressed in E. coli. Our results validate the use of pHT01 as a shuttle vector and B. subtilis as a host to isolate new activities by functional metagenomics.

Two new species of poecilostomatoid copepods, each belonging to the genera Myicola (Myicolidae) and Conchyliurus (Clausidiidae), are described, based on specimens taken from the mantle cavity of the bivalve Dosinella penicillata (Reeve). The host bivalve was collected from the intertidal mud flat near Inchon in the Yellow Sea.

한국산 균식성 애버섯벌레붙이과에 대한 분류학적 검토를 수행하였다. 한국산 균식성 애버섯벌레붙이과에는 2아과와 2속에 속한 4종이 포함되어 있으나, 본 논문에서는 3종을 검토하였다. 그 가운데 2종 은 한국에서 처음으로 보고되는 종들이다. 성충의 사진, 진단 형질, 특징적인 형질, 서식지를 포함한 생태적 정보와 숙주버섯을 제공하였다.

Ad hoc 무선망은 중앙 집중화된 관리 혹은 표준화된 지원 서비스의 도움 없이 임시 네트워크를 형성시킨 wireless mobile host들의 집합이다. 이러한 환경에서는 무선 전송 전파 범위의 한계 때문에 하나의 mobile host로 패킷을 목적지에 전송하기 위해서는 다른 host들간의 협력이 필수적이며, 경로설정 프로토콜이 중요한 요소로 여겨진다. 이론적인 면에서 On-demand 경로설정방식이 Table-driven방식보다 효율적인 방식으로 제시되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 제시된 두 가지 경로설정방식 프로토콜의 대표적인 DSDV, DSR 방식을 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 비교 분석하여 효율적인 라우팅 프로토콜을 제시하고자 한다.
