Optimal Allocation Strategy Based on Stackelberg Game for Inspecting Drunk Driving on Traffic Network

  • As the main means to cope with the stubborn problem of drunk driving, the inspection of drunk driving has already been paid more attention and thus reinforced. In this paper, we model this scenario as a Stackelberg game, where the police department (called defender) allocates resources dynamically in terms of the traffic situation on the traffic network to arrest drink drivers and drivers who drink (called attacker), whether choosing drunk driving or designated driving service, expect to minimize their cost for given travel routes. However, with the number of resources are limited, our goal is to calculate the optimal resource allocation strategy for the defender. Therefore, first, we provide an effective approach (named OISDD) to fulfill our goal, i.e., generate the optimal strategy to inspect drunk driving. Second, we apply OISDD to directed graphs (which are abstracted from Dalian traffic network) to analyze and test its correctness and rationality. The experimental results show that OISDD is feasible and efficient.

  • As increasing the Internet traffic, many researches on access network are reported for end-to-end high-speed broadband network, where E-PON(Ethernet-Passive Active Network) is one of reasonable candidate fur the network with respect to cost and bandwidth utilization. For the high-speed access network, E-PON need an efficient bandwidth allocation method. This paper suggests a WFA(Water-Filling Allocation) algorithm for the efficient bandwidth allocation with various simulation test.

A Light-weight and Dynamically Reconfigurable RMON Agent System

  • A RMON agent system, which locates on a subnet, collects the network traffic information for management by retrieving and analyzing all of the packets on the subnet. The RMON agent system can miss some packets due to the high packet analyzing overhead when the number of packets on the subnet is huge. In this paper, we have developed a light-weight RMON agent system that can handle a large amount of packets without packet loss. Our RMON agent system has also been designed such that its functionality can be added dynamically when needed. To demonstrate the dynamic reconfiguration capability of our RMON agent system, a simple port scanning attack detection module is added to the RMON agent system. We have also evaluated the performance of our RMON agent system on a large network that has a huge traffic. The test result has shown our RMON agent system can analyze the network packets without packet loss.

Highspeed Packet Processing for DiffServ-over-MPLS TE on Network Processor

  • The paper proposes an implementation architecture of DiffServ-over-MPLS traffic engineering (TE) on Intel IXP2400 network processor using Intel IXA SDK 4.0 Framework. Program architecture and functions are described. Also fast and scalable range-match classification scheme is proposed for DiffServ-over-MPLS TE that has been integrated with functional blocks from Intel Microblocks library. Performance test shows that application can process packets at approximate data rate of 3.5 Gbps. The proposed implementation architecture of DiffServ-over-MPLS TE on Network processor can provide guaranteed QoS on high-speed next generation Internet, while being flexible and easily modifiable.

도시 가로망시설 운영효율평가를 위한 모의실험 모형개발 (A Microscopic Traffic Simulation Model for Urban Network Performance Evaluation)

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a microscopic traffic simulation model which is able to both analyze and the evaluate signlaized urban network and to verify its usefulness in comparison with the other model which has alfeady been released. This simulation model adopts the General Motor's 5th model for car-following and introduces an unique lanechanging rule using acceptable gap. It analyzes single and dual-ring signal phases and generates detector information . So it could be applied to dynamic route guidance systems as wel as real time signal control systems. The results derived from Netsim and the observed data from the real network have been used to test the validit of the proposed model. The result of the test has shown that there are no significant differences between the NETSIM model and the proposed model in estimating travel speed and stopped delay. In optimum offset estimatin , it has shown the same results with NETSIM. the measure of effectiveness , however, derived from this model is slightly better than that of the real network situation. This may be due to the fact that the proposed model does not take into account side frictions from interferences and obstacles.

아이오와 주 교통국의 FWD 네트워크 레벨 조사 프로토콜을 위한 최소 하중 재하 수와 조사지점 수의 결정 (Investigation of Minimum Number of Drop Levels and Test Points for FWD Network-Level Testing Protocol in Iowa Department of Transportation)

  • 2007년부터 아이오와 주 교통국에서는 고속도로와 국도에서 FWD 장비를 이용하여 네트워크 레벨에 필요한 조사를 실시하였고 처짐 자료와 포장 구조분석 결과를 데이터베이스로 구축하는 작업을 시작하였다. 축적된 데이터베이스에 정보는 포장에 구조적 문제점을 발견하고 포장에 잔류 공용수명을 예측하여 포장에 유지보수 시점을 결정하는데 사용한다. 현재 아이오와 주 교통국에서 사용하고 있는 FWD 네트워크 레벨 조사 프로토콜은 포장 표면에 3번에 하중을 각각 재하하여 8개에 지오폰으로부터 측정한 처짐량을 이용, 역 계산을 통해 포장구조 해석을 수행하고 있으며 조사지점 수는 조사하는 도로의 구간 길이에 따라 결정하고 있다. 그러나, 현재 사용하고 있은 FWD 네트워크 레벨 조사 프로토콜은 1년 동안 아이오와 주 전체 도로 네트워크에 약 20%만을 조사할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 해마다 아이오와 주 도로 네트워크에 20% 이상을 조사하기 위해서는 현재 사용하고 있는 FWD 네트워크 레벨 조사 프로토콜을 간소화해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에 목적은 현재 사용하고 있는 FWD 네트워크 레벨 조사 프로토콜에서 FWD 측정 데이터에 영향을 미치지 않는 범위내에서 최소 하중 재하 수와 조사지점 수를 결정하기 위한 것이다. 83개에 합성포장 구간을 대상으로 측정한 FWD 네트워크 레벨 조사에서는 FWD 네트워크 레벨 조사 프로토콜에서 하중 재하 수와 조사지점 수를 줄여도 포장 구조해석 결과에는 크게 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 간소화된 FWD 네트워크 레벨 조사 프로토콜은 FWD 측정 결과에 영향을 미치지 않으면서 측정 조사율을 높일 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 교통 통제로 인한 간접비용도 절감시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.

Based upon the simulation test, we suggest several ways to improve performance of E-PON.

Understanding Driver Compliance Behaviour at Signalised Intersection for Developing Conceptual Model of Driving Simulation

  • A conceptual model represents an understanding of a system that is going to be developed, which in this research, a driving simulation software to study driver behavior at signalised intersections. Therefore, video observation was conducted to study driver compliance behaviour within the dilemma zone at signalised intersection, with regards to driver's distance from the stop line during yellow light interval. The video was analysed using Thematic Analysis and the data extracted from it was analysed using Chi-Square Independent Test. The Thematic Analysis revealed two major themes which were traffic situation and driver compliance behaviour. Traffic situation is defined as traffic surrounding the driver, such as no car in front and behind, car in front, and car behind. Meanwhile, the Chi-Square Test result indicates that within the dilemma zone, there was a significant relationship between driver compliance behaviour and driver's distance from the stop line during yellow light interval. The closer the drivers were to the stop line, the more likely they were going to comply. In contrast, drivers showed higher non-compliant behavior when further away from stop line. This finding could help in the development of conceptual model of driving simulation with purpose in studying driver behavior.

Traffic-induced vibrations at the wet joint during the widening of concrete bridges and non-interruption traffic control strategies

  • The rapid development of road transport has increased the number of bridges that require widening. A critical issue in the construction of bridge widening is the influence of vibrations of the old bridge on the casting of wet joint concrete between the old and new bridges owing to the running traffic. Typically, the bridge is closed to traffic during the pouring of wet joint concrete, which negatively affects the existing transportation network. In this study, a newly developed microscopic traffic load modeling approach and the vehicle-bridge interaction theory are incorporated to develop a refined numerical framework for the analysis of random traffic-bridge coupled dynamics. This framework was used to investigate traffic-induced vibrations at the wet joint of a widened bridge. Based on an experimental study on the vibration resistance of wet joint concrete, traffic control strategies were proposed to ensure the construction performance of cast-in-site wet joint concrete under random traffic without interruption. The results show that the vibration displacement and frequency of the old bridge, estimated by the proposed framework, were comparable with those obtained from field measurements. Based on the target peak particle velocity and vibration amplitude of the wet joint concrete, it was found that traffic control measures, such as limiting vehicle gross weight and limiting traffic volume by closing an additional traffic lane, could ensure the construction performance of the wet joint concrete.

사용자 에이전트 기반의 네트워크 트래픽 및 QoS 모니터링 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Network Traffic and QoS Monitoring System based on User Agent)

  • 최근 멀티미디어 스트리밍 어플리케이션이 보편적으로 사용됨에 따라 네트워크로 유입되는 트래픽의 양이 급속도로 증가하고 있으며, 이와 함께 안정적인 서비스 및 QoS 보장을 위한 다양한 네트워크 관리 시스템들이 제시되고 있다. 이러한 시스템들은 네트워크 장비, 네트워크 상태 정보의 측정 및 분석을 통해 QoS 요구사항의 지속적인 유지 여부를 판단할 수 있는 모니터링 기술을 요구하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 네트워크상의 앤드포인트(endpoint)별 트래픽을 모니터링하고 종단 간의 QoS 등급을 측정하기 위한 시스템을 제안한다. 제시된 시스템은 네트워크 트래픽 정보 수집 및 시각적인 모니터링을 기반으로 하며, 멀티미디어 응용 서비스 보장 여부를 확인할 수 있는 QoS 등급을 측정하기 위해 종단 간의 테스트 패킷 전송을 수행하도록 하였고 이를 통해 Throughput, Delay, Jitter 등의 QoS 파라미터 정보를 시각적, 수치적으로 쉽게 인식할 수 있도록 하였다.
