The Classification of Roughness fir Machined Surface Image using Neural Network (신경회로망을 이용한 가공면 영상의 거칠기 분류)

  • Surface roughness is one of the most important parameters to estimate quality of products. As this reason so many studies were car-ried out through various attempts that were contact or non-contact using computer vision. Even through these efforts there were few good results in this research., however texture analysis making a important role to solve these problems in various fields including universe aviation living thing and fibers. In this study feature value of co-occurrence matrix was calculated by statistic method and roughness value of worked surface was classified, of it. Experiment was carried out using input vector of neural network with characteristic value of texture calculated from worked surface image. It's found that recognition rate of 74% was obtained when adapting texture features. In order to enhance recogni-tion rate combination type in characteristics value of texture was changed into input vector. As a result high recognition rate of 92.6% was obtained through these processes.

  • In this paper, novel ubiquitous concept of real reality robot game controlled by a mobile server robot is proposed. Real reality robot game means that two real robots controlled by humans/computers through the internet are playing a boxing game. The mobile server robot captures playing images of the boxing game and sends them to GUI on the screen of human operators' PC. The human operator can login to the boxing game from any computer in any place if he/she is permitted. Remote control of a boxing robot by a motion capture system through network is implemented. Successful motion control of a boxing robot remotely controlled by a motion capture system through network can be achieved. In addition, real boxing games between a human and a computer are demonstrated.

  • Subscriber network investment cost is a main cost element among those constituting the access charges in telephone networks. The purpose of this paper to estimate the investment cost of installing a subscriber network in a typical metropolitan area and to develop a cost modeling framework. To this aim, a metropolitan area in Seoul was investigated. The main cost elements were identified and their relationships with the cable technology, geographical characteristics, and the number of subscribers were analyzed. The findings could be used to design an enhanced cost proxy models for estimating the access charges in a multi-operator environment.

  • The human sensibility caused by the motion of an object grasped by a human operator is defined as kinesthetic sense of arm. Due to nonlinearity and ambiguity of human sense, there is no absolute standard for quantification of kinesthetic sense. In this research, a so-called 2-dimensional arm motion generator is developed to present various mechanical impedance (i.e., stiffness or damping) characteristics to a human arm. The kinesthetic words representing arm kinesthetic sense are selected and then the subject's satisfaction levels on these words for given impedance values are measured and processed by the SD method and factor analysis. In addition, the quantification method using neural network is proposed to take into account the individual difference between the mean sensibility and each subject's sensibility. Through this proposed algorithm, the sensibility of human motion described qualitatively can be converted into engineering data ensuring objectivity, reproducibility, and universality.

  • The continuous chip in turning operation deteriorates the precision of workpiece and can cause a hazardous condition to operator. Thus the chip form becomes a very important task for reliable turning process. The chip form is identified using the neural network of supervise data Through the measurement of energy radiated from the chip. The feed mechanism os adjusted in order to break continuous chip according to the result of the chip form recognition and it shows a good approach for precision turning operation.

  • This paper presents the visualization method of the KAIST interactive bicycle simulator. The simulator consists of two bicycles of 6 DOF and 4 DOF platforms, force feedback handlebars and pedal resistance systems to generate motion feelings; a real-time visual simulator, a HMD and a beam projection system; and a 3D sound system. The system has an integrating control network with the server-client network structure for multiple simulators. The visual simulator generates dynamic images in real-time while communicating with other modules of the simulator. The operator of the simulator can have realistic visual experience of riding on a velodrome or through the KAIST campus, while being able to watch the other bicycle with an avatar.

  • The evolution of mobile communications is inducting several new issues belonging to the system engineering disciplines. this paper tires to underline some of the most important problems staring room the novel requirements and the application characteristics expected for Third Generation Mobile System. Based on these new service peculiarities. the radio resource control and the architectural solutions to be chosen for the Mobile core network are becoming key issues to be investigated for the forthcoming configurations.   • 이동전화시장에 경쟁된 이후 국내 이동전화시장은 사업자간의 치열한 경쟁으로 인해 보급률이 58%에 달하는 등 급격한 성장을 이룩하여 왔다. 그러나 이러한 외형적인 성장에 비추어 이용자 입장에서의 경쟁 활성화 효과는 극히 미미한 실정이다. 오히려 이동전화서비스에 대한 소비자들의 불만이 갈수록 높아지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 문제의 근본 원인은 이동망을 운영하고 있는 사업자들이 일단 가입자가 확보되면 확보된 가입자에게는 거의 독점적인 권한을 행사할 수 있는 시장구조에서 비롯되고 있다. 본 고에서는 이러한 이동망의 배타적 사용문제를 해결하고 경쟁을 활성화하기 위한 수단으로써 가상이동망사업자(Mobile Virtual Network Operator: MVNO) 제도를 검토하고 그 구체적 운영방안을 외국사례를 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다.

  • In the stereolithography process, the accuracy of product depends on laser power, scan speed, scan width, scan pattern, layer thickness, resin characteristics and so on. Therefore, appropriate process parameters are required for an accurate prototype. This paper presents a method to determine the key process parameters, i.e., laser scan speed, hatching space, and layer thickness based on scan length, scan area, and layer slope. In order to determine these parameters, three neural networks are employed to represent operator’s experience and knowledge. Optimum values on scan speed, hatching space and layer thickness are recommended to improve the surface roughness and build time on the developed SLA machine.

  • Availability of defect test algorithm that recognizes exact and standardized defect information in order to fundamentally resolve generated defects in industrial sites by giving artificial intelligence to SAT(Scanning Acoustic Tomograph), which previously depended on operator's decision, to find various defect information in a semiconductor package, to decide defect pattern, to reduce personal errors and then to standardize the test process was verified. In order to apply the algorithm to the lately emerging Neural Network theory, various weights were used to derive results for performance advancement plans of the defect test algorithm that promises excellent field applicability.
