Appling centralized network management architecture SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) to wireless networks causes the network overhead, NAT(Network Address Translation) problem on AP, and performance degradation of mobile nodes. In this paper, we propose an integrated management scheme for wired and wireless networks using mobile agents in order to solve above problems. In our proposed scheme, SNMP is applied to manage wired networks and MAs of SNMP are implemented in APs or wireless nodes to manage wireless networks. In addition, we propose a method to reduce the redundant OID information within SNMP response messages. Through the analysis, we show that our proposal resolves the given problems and reduces the processing delay of the wireless nodes.

Streaming service in the wireless mobile network environment has been a very challenging issue due to the dynamic uncertain nature of the channels. Overhead such as congestion, latency, and jitter lead to the problem of performance degradation of an adaptive multi-streaming service. This paper proposes a AMSS (Adaptive Multi-level Streaming Service) mechanism to reduce the performance degradation due to overhead such as variable network bandwidth, mobility and limited resources of the wireless mobile network. The proposed AMSS optimizes streaming services by: 1) use of fuzzy similarity metric, 2) minimization of packet loss due to buffer overflow and resource waste, and 3) minimization of packet loss due to congestion and delay. The simulation result shows that the proposed method has better performance in congestion control and packet loss ratio than the other existing methods of TCP-based method, UDP-based method and VBM-based method. The proposed method showed improvement of 10% in congestion control ratio and 8% in packet loss ratio compared with VBM-based method which is one of the best method.
Existing routing protocols for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) have assumed that all nodes voluntarily participate in forwarding others' packets. In the case when a MANET consists of nodes belonging to multiple organizations, mobile nodes may deliberately avoid packet forwarding to save their own energy, resulting in network performance degradation. In this paper, to make nodes volunteer in packet forwarding, a credit payment scheme called Protocol-Independent Fairness Algorithm (PIFA) is proposed. PIFA can be utilized irrespective of the type of basic routing protocols, while previous methods are compatible only with source routing mechanisms like DSR. According to simulation results, we can know that PIFA can prevent network performance degradation by inducing selfish nodes to participate in packet forwarding.

Small cell deployment offers a low-cost solution for the boosted traffic demand in heterogeneous cellular networks (HCNs). Besides improved spatial spectrum efficiency and energy efficiency, future HCNs are also featured with the trend of network architecture convergence and feasibility for flexible mobile applications. To achieve these goals, dual connectivity (DC) is playing a more and more important role to support control/user-plane splitting, which enables maintaining fixed control channel connections for reliability. In this paper, we develop a tractable framework for the downlink SINR analysis of DC assisted HCN. Based on stochastic geometry model, the data-control joint coverage probabilities under multi-frequency and single-frequency tiering are derived, which involve quick integrals and admit simple closed-forms in special cases. Monte Carlo simulations confirm the accuracy of the expressions. It is observed that the increase in mobility robustness of DC is at the price of control channel SINR degradation. This degradation severely worsens the joint coverage performance under single-frequency tiering, proving multi-frequency tiering a more feasible networking scheme to utilize the advantage of DC effectively. Moreover, the joint coverage probability can be maximized by adjusting the density ratio of small cell and macro cell eNBs under multi-frequency tiering, though changing cell association bias has little impact on the level of the maximal coverage performance.

In this paper, we have proposed the frequency interference analysis system using both LabVIEW and Universal Software Radio Peripheral(USRP) for performance degradation analysis of Multi Input Multi Output-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(MIMO-OFDM) Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) due to Wireless Local Area Network(WPAN) interferer. The proposed system consists of three part, i.e., victim, channel, and interferer. Both victim and interferer are implemented by LaBVIEW and a USRP board. Then interfering signal and additive white Gaussian noise are combined with the wanted signals of a victim. Measured Bit Error Rate(BER) at the victim receiver is compared with theoretical BER according to various signal to interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) values. Measured and theoretical BER curves show good agreement.
In middle- and long-distance imaging systems, due to the atmospheric turbulence caused by temperature, wind speed, humidity, and so on, light waves propagating in the air are distorted, resulting in image-quality degradation such as geometric deformation and fuzziness. In remote sensing, astronomical observation, and traffic monitoring, image information loss due to degradation causes huge losses, so effective restoration of degraded images is very important. To restore images degraded by atmospheric turbulence, an image-restoration method based on improved compound multibranch feature fusion (CMFNetPro) was proposed. Based on the CMFNet network, an efficient channel-attention mechanism was used to replace the channel-attention mechanism to improve image quality and network efficiency. In the experiment, two-dimensional random distortion vector fields were used to construct two turbulent datasets with different degrees of distortion, based on the Google Landmarks Dataset v2 dataset. The experimental results showed that compared to the CMFNet, DeblurGAN-v2, and MIMO-UNet models, the proposed CMFNetPro network achieves better performance in both quality and training cost of turbulent-image restoration. In the mixed training, CMFNetPro was 1.2391 dB (weak turbulence), 0.8602 dB (strong turbulence) respectively higher in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio and 0.0015 (weak turbulence), 0.0136 (strong turbulence) respectively higher in terms of structure similarity compared to CMFNet. CMFNetPro was 14.4 hours faster compared to the CMFNet. This provides a feasible scheme for turbulent-image restoration based on deep learning.
In this paper, we obtain the optimal number of interfaces/channels in wireless mesh networks by simulation. The simulation study is done in static multi-channel multi-interface environment. When many nodes use a single interface and channel and contend for the channel, collisions of RTS/CTS results in network performance degradation. To avoid such degradation and reduce interferences between the adjacent nodes, use of multi-interface/channel is considered. 802.11a and 802.11b systems offer 12 and 3 orthogonal channels respectively and multi-interface/channel scheme could be applied. But rare research about the optimal number of interfaces/channels has been studied. Therefore, in this paper, simulation study for the optimal number of interfaces/channels in wireless mesh network is made.
Wireless Mesh Networks aim to attain large connectivity with minimum performance degradation, as network size is increase. As such, scalability is one of the main characteristics of Wireless Mesh Networks that differentiates it from other wireless networks. This characteristic creates the need for bandwidth efficiency strategies to ensure that network performance does not degrade as the size of the network increase. Several researches have been done to realize mesh networks. However, the researches conducted were mostly focused on a per TCP/IP layer basis. Also, the studies on bandwidth efficiency and bandwidth improvement are usually dealt with as separate issues. This paper aims to simultaneously study bandwidth efficiency and improvement. Aside from optimizing the bandwidth given a fixed capacity, the capacity is also increased using results of physical layer studies. In this paper, the capacity is improved by using the concept of non-overlapping channels for wireless communication. A channel allocation scheme is conceptualized to choose the transmission channel that would optimize the network performance parameters with consideration of chosen Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Network utility maximization is used to optimize the bandwidth after channel selection. Furthermore, a routing scheme is proposed using the results of the network utilization method and the channel allocation scheme to find the optimal path that would maximize the network gain.

Recently CAN (Controller Area Network) is widely used as an in-vehicle networking protocol for intelligent vehicle. The identifier field (ID) of CAN is used not only to differentiate the messages but also to give different priorities to access the bus. This paper presents a dynamic 10 allocation algorithm in order to enhance the real-time quality-of-service (QoS) performance. When the network traffic is increased, this algorithm can allocate a network resource to lower priority message without degradation of the real-time QoS performance of higher priority message. In order to demonstrate the algorithm's feasibility, message transmission delays have been measured with and without the algorithm on an experimental network test bed.
In this paper, we analyze the performance degradation of previous 1-Bit convolutional neural network method and introduce ways to mitigate it. Previous work applies 32-Bit operation to first and last layers. But our method applies 32-Bit operation to second layer too. We also show that nonlinear activation function can be removed after binarizing inputs and weights. In order to verify the method proposed in this paper, we experiment the object detection neural network for korean license plate detection. Our method results in 96.1% accuracy, but the existing method results in 74% accuracy.
