  • The popularization of VR content is slow. It's because they have not created a new visual experience, that is, 'utility' beyond 'interest'. The utility of VR content starts from functional reality. And to enhanced it, realistic interaction is required. Specifically, this study presents three methods of network play, character artificial intelligence, and Haptic implementation. In order to confirm the hypothesis, we conducted all phases of VR content production from baseball to contents production, play test, and technical verification. Through the test of the user and the evaluation institution about the final product, it was evaluated that it contributed to the realization of the content realism through the realistic visual effect, the play presentation, and the impact evaluation by the vibration.

  • This paper presents a radiation-hardened-by-design preamplifier that utilizes a self-compensation technique with a charge-sensitive amplifier (CSA) and replica for total ionizing dose (TID) effects. The CSA consists of an operational amplifier (OPAMP) with a 6-bit binary weighted current source (BWCS) and feedback network. The replica circuit is utilized to compensate for the TID effects of the CSA. Two comparators can detect the operating point of the replica OPAMP and generate appropriate signals to control the switches of the BWCS. The proposed preamplifier was fabricated using a general-purpose complementary metal-oxide-silicon field effect transistor 0.18 ㎛ process and verified through a test up to 230 kGy (SiO2) at a rate of 10.46 kGy (SiO2)/h. The code of the BWCS control circuit varied with the total radiation dose. During the verification test, the initial value of the digital code was 39, and a final value of 30 was observed. Furthermore, the preamplifier output exhibited a maximum variation error of 2.39%, while the maximum rise-time error was 1.96%. A minimum signal-to-noise ratio of 49.64 dB was measured.

  • The main purpose of this investigation is to make up for the limitations of parcel addressing and to seek the application plan of cadastral triangulation point to effective installation of national index numbers. The test-bed has been constructed at the mountainous area located in Nowon-gu, seven cadastral triangulation points within the test-bed was directly applied to this investigation. Each points have been firstly converted from a plane rectangular coordinates to a single plane rectangular coordinates (UTM-K). To verify positioning results achieved from these points, a single plane rectangular coordinates through the Network-RTK was considered. With regards to verification result, maximum coordinate shift was revealed by 6 cm, this level of difference can be satisfied to Article 7, paragraph 2 "the regulation for National Index Number". This means that coordinate transformation applied with cadastral triangulation points can achieve the sastisfied result without local surveying. And also, remarkable effects have been created in terms of financial effectiveness and safe preservation of cadastral triangulation points due to the omission of local surveying.

  • The geotechnical information constructed in the National Geotechnical Information DB System has been extensively used in design, construction, underground safety management, and disaster assessment. However, it is necessary to refine the geotechnical information because it has nearly 300,000 established cases containing a lot of missing or incorrect information. This research proposes a method for automatic quality control of geotechnical information using a fully connected neural network. Significantly, the anomalies in geotechnical information were detected using a database combining the standard penetration test results and strata information of Seoul. Consequently, the misclassification rate for the verification data is confirmed as 5.4%. Overall, the studied algorithm is expected to detect outliers of geotechnical information effectively.

  • Recently application of open protocols and external network linkage to the national critical infrastructure has been growing with the development of information and communication technologies. This trend could mean that the national critical infrastructure is exposed to cyber attacks and can be seriously jeopardized when it gets remotely operated or controlled by viruses, crackers, or cyber terrorists. In this paper virtual Honeynet model which can reduce installation and operation resource problems of Honeynet system is proposed. It maintains the merits of Honeynet system and adapts the virtualization technology. Also, virtual Honeynet model that can minimize operating cost is proposed with data analysis and collecting technique based on the verification of attack intention and focus-oriented analysis technique. With the proposed model, new type of attack detection system based on virtual Honeynet, that is Cybertrap, is designed and implemented with the host and data collecting technique based on the verification of attack intention and the network attack pattern visualization technique. To test proposed system we establish test-bed and evaluate the functionality and performance through series of experiments.

  • In this paper a back-propagation neural network model is developed to estimate the preconsolidation pressure of Korean soft soils based on 176 oedometer tests and 63 piezocone test results, which were compiled from 11 sites - western and southern parts of Korea. Only 147 data were used for the training of the neural network and 29 data, which were not used during the training phase, were used for the verification of trained network. Empirical and theoretical models were compared with the developed neural network model. A simple 4-4-9-1 multi-layered neural network has been developed. The cone tip resistance $q_T$ penetration pore pressure $u_2$, total overburden pressure $\sigma_{vo}$ and effective overburden pressure $\sigma'_{vo}$ were selected as input variables. The developed neural network model was validated by comparing the prediction results of the proposed neural network model for the new data which were not used for the training of the model with the measured preconsolidation pressures. It can also predict more precise and reliable preconsolidation pressures than the analytical and empirical model. Furthermore, it can be carefully concluded that neural network model can be used as a generalized model for prediction of preconsolidation pressure throughout Korea since developed model shows good performance for the new data which were not used in both training and testing data.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the ship valuation model by utilizing the neural network model. The target of the valuation was secondhand VLCC. The variables were set as major factors inducing changes in the value of ship through prior research, and the corresponding data were collected on a monthly basis from January 2000 to August 2020. To determine the stability of subsequent variables, a multi-collinearity test was carried out and finally the research structure was designed by selecting six independent variables and one dependent variable. Based on this structure, a total of nine simulation models were designed using linear regression, neural network regression, and random forest algorithm. In addition, the accuracy of the evaluation results are improved through comparative verification between each model. As a result of the evaluation, it was found that the most accurate when the neural network regression model, which consist of a hidden layer composed of two layers, was simulated through comparison with actual VLCC values. The possible implications of this study first, creative research in terms of applying neural network model to ship valuation; this deviates from the existing formalized evaluation techniques. Second, the objectivity of research results was enhanced from a dynamic perspective by analyzing and predicting the factors of changes in the shipping. market.

  • Semantic segmentation, which is the most basic and complicated problem in computer vision, classifies each pixel of an image into a specific object and performs a task of specifying a label. MRF and CRF, which have been studied in the past, have been studied as effective methods for improving the accuracy of pixel level labeling. In this paper, we propose a semantic partitioning method that combines CNN, a kind of deep running, which is in the spotlight recently, and CRF, a probabilistic model. For learning and performance verification, Pascal VOC 2012 image database was used and the test was performed using arbitrary images not used for learning. As a result of the study, we showed better partitioning performance than existing semantic partitioning algorithm.

  • The reduction of the vehicle interior noise has been the main interest of noise and vibration harshness (NVH) engineers. The driver's perception on the vehicle noise is affected largely by psychoacoustic characteristic of the noise as well as the SPL. In particular, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system sound among the vehicle interior noise has been reflected sensitively in psychoacoustics view point. Even though the HVAC noise is not louder than overall noise level, it clearly affects subjective perception to drivers in the way of making to be nervous or annoyed. Therefore, these days a vehicle engineer takes aim at developing sound quality as well as reduction of noise. In this paper, we acquired noises in the HVAC from many vehicles. Through the objective and subjective sound quality (SQ) evaluation with acquiring noises recorded by the vehicle HVAC system, the simple and multiple regression models were obtained for the subjective evaluation 'Pleasant' using the semantic differential method (SDM). The regression procedure also allows you to produce diagnostic statistics to evaluate the regression estimates including appropriation and accuracy. Furthermore, the neural network (NN) model were obtained using three inputs(loudness, sharpness and roughness) of the SQ metrics and one output(subjective 'Pleasant'). Because human's perception is very complex and hard to estimate their pattern, we used NN model. The estimated models were compared with correlations between output indexes of SQ and hearing test results for verification data 'Pleasant'. As a result of application of the SQ indexes, the NN model was shown with the largest correlation of SQ indexes and we found possibilities to predict the SQ metrics.

  • This paper presents a new overall system for state-of-available-power (SoAP) prediction for a lithium-ion battery pack. The essential part of this method is based on an adaptive network architecture which utilizes both fuzzy model (FIS) and artificial neural network (ANN) into the framework of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). While battery aging proceeds, the system is capable of delivering accurate power prediction not only for room temperature, but also at lower temperatures at which power prediction is most challenging. Due to design property of ANN, the network parameters are adapted on-line to the current battery states (state-of-charge (SoC), state-of-health (SoH), temperature). SoC is required as an input parameter to SoAP module and high accuracy is crucial for a reliable on-line adaptation. Therefore, a reasonable way to determine the battery state variables is proposed applying a combination of several partly different algorithms. Among other SoC boundary estimation methods, robust extended Kalman filter (REKF) for recalibration of amp hour counters was implemented. ANFIS then achieves the SoAP estimation by means of time forward voltage prognosis (TFVP) before a power pulse occurs. The trade-off between computational cost of batch-learning and accuracy during on-line adaptation was optimized resulting in a real-time system with TFVP absolute error less than 1%. The verification was performed on a software-in-the-loop test bench setup using a 53 Ah lithium-ion cell.
