  • To design a ATM Switch which ahs advantages in high sped packet switching, it is essential to set multiple paths between input ports and output ports and to design a new packet transfer technique on that paths for decreasing Packet Loss by conflicts in internal Switch Plane. We propose new packet transfer method, Alternate Path Transfer Mechanism by Dynamic Bypass Transfer Method which can solve conflict problem in Banyan network easily. Proposed ATM Switch consists of Banyan networks, Input/Ouput Port, Bypass Link, and Bypass Link Controller. Packets caused conflicts in SEs have another chances of packet transfer over alternate switching planes by using this mechanism.

  • Recently, the Internet and networks are regarded as essential infrastructures that constitute society, and security threats have been constantly increased. However, the network switch that actually transmits packets in the network can cope with security threats only through firewall or network access control based on fixed rules, so the effective defense for the security threats is extremely limited in the network itself and not actively responding as well. In this paper, we propose an in-network security framework using the high-level data plane programming language, P4 (Programming Protocol-independent Packet Processor), to deal with DDoS attacks and IP spoofing attacks at the network level by monitoring all flows in the network in real time and processing specific security attack packets at the P4 switch. In addition, by allowing the P4 switch to apply the network user's or administrator's policy through the SDN (Software-Defined Network) controller, various security requirements in the network application environment can be reflected.

  • In this paper, we propose a new cell switch fabric for increasing the performance of ATM switching systems. Proposed switching network consists of a sorting network and a routing network. Both of these are multistage networks where each stage performs a fixed permutation on the incoming lines, and then routes them through a clumn of 2x2 switching elements. It is designed for distributing inputs and parallel processing to reduce the hardware complexity and obtain high performance of switching network. The structure and the operation of th eswitching network aredescribed and the performanceof the switching network is anlyzed under uniform traffic models. In this result, though the size of proposed network is increased the large scale, it has always the same throughput as the that of genral output queueing system with N=2. So, it is found that our proposed network is appropriate for the high apeed and lrger size of ATM switching systems.

  • It is necessary to understand and apply the concept of Quality of Service(QoS) for the objective selection among the computer network equipment. Because ITU-T E.800 recommendation covers the service quality of provider's viewpoint and the satisfaction of user, it can be used to evaluate and select the product of computer network systems. This paper is concerned with the development of an evaluation model using QoS and software tool for selection of the most suitable LAN switch. We apply the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method of Saaty which has been in a multiple criteria framework for an effective group decision process to the selection of LAN switch. The sample data are collected and processed from a questionnaire of professionals in the network field. And we implement a prototype tool for the selection of LAN switch according to the suggested selection model and analyse the result. The result of our research is expected to be a useful tool for decision making to evaluate and select the LAN switch and also can be applied to the decision making of evaluation and selection related to the product of computer network with QoS.

  • Intelligent Power Switch (IPS) is a semiconductor device which contains a logic circuit in itself. It has received significant attention as a switching component to substitute the fuse and relay components in common automobile since the internal logic provides the controllability on the loads. However, a control system for the IPS status control and a network system to share the status information of IPS are required to fully exploit the capabilities of IPS. In this paper, we propose a control circuit and algorithm using IPS. Also the communication system between the control systems and IPS components using Control Area network (CAN) are proposed.

  • In this study, an efficient clamp is proposed to reduce the switch voltage stress of a forward converter. The proposed clamp consists of a conventional LC snubber, a tertiary winding, and a diode. When the switch is turned OFF, the magnetizing inductor energy of the transformer is recovered directly into the flyback output, which is the tertiary winding and diode network, instead of circulating in the LC snubber. Therefore, switch voltage stress and circulating current caused by the magnetizing inductor energy are reduced. This condition improves the efficiency of the forward converter with limited switch voltage stress. A theoretical analysis and the design guidelines of the proposed converter are provided. Experimental results are also reported.

  • Vehicle communication networks have some deficient network resources to support a vast multimedia service including safety driving information, video, news and some broadcast relayed from the playgrounds such as professional baseball games for autonomous vehicles. This paper deals with the framework for providing seamless multimedia service including safety driving information using multicast in cooperated-connected vehicle communication network (CVCN). It adopts smart-switch (SS) and smart intelligent multicast agent(SIMA) to support the seamless multimedia service. The SS manages and switches multimedia streams through SIMA in CVCN network. The SIMA to operate as an access point, is composed of multicast supporting part and control part of mobile devices/autonomous vehicles in CVCN network. Therefore this proposed technique using SS and SIMA within CVCN network is a new framework for multimedia service that can disperse the load of server.

  • This paper describes the design of a high performance microwave single pole double throw (SPDT) monolithic microwave integrated circuit switch using GaAs pHEMT process. The switch design proposes a novel coplanar waveguide (CPW) impedance transform network which results in the low insertion loss and high isolation by compensating for the FET parasitics to get the low on-resistance and low off-capacitance. The proposed switch has the measured isolation of better than 24 dB and insertion loss of less than 2.6 dB from 53 to 61 GHz. The chip is fabricated with the size of 2.2mm $\times$ 1.6 mm.

  • This paper presents the design of a low-power, low area 256-radix 16-bit crossbar switch employing a 2D Hyper-X network topology. The Hyper-X crossbar switch realizes the high radix of 256 by hierarchically combining a set of 4-radix sub-switches and applies three modifications to the basic Hyper-X topology in order to mitigate the adverse scaling of power consumption and propagation delay with the increasing radix. For instance, by restricting the directions in which signals can be routed, by restricting the ports to which signals can be connected, and by replacing the column-wise routes with diagonal routes, the fanout of each circuit node can be substantially reduced from 256 to 4~8. The proposed 256-radix, 16-bit crossbar switch is designed in a 65 nm CMOS and occupies the total area of $0.93{\times}1.25mm^2$. The simulated worst-case delay and power dissipation are 641 ps and 13.01 W when operating at a 1.2 V supply and 1 GHz frequency. In comparison with the state-of-the-art designs, the proposed crossbar switch design achieves the best energy-delay efficiency of $2.203cycle/ns{\cdot}fJ{\cdot}{\lambda}2$.
