  • GUMF (Global User Management Framework) that is proposed in this research can be applied to next generation network such as BcN (Broadband convergence Network), it is QoS guaranteed security framework for user that can solve present Internet's security vulnerability. GUMF offers anonymity for user of service and use the user's real-name or ID for management of service and it is technology that can realize secure QoS. GUMF needs management framework, UMS (User Management System), VNC (Virtual Network Controller) etc. UMS consists of root UMS in country dimension and Local UMS in each site dimension. VNC is network security equipment including VPN, QoS and security functions etc., and it achieves the QoSS (Quality of Security Service) and CLS(Communication Level Switching) functions. GUMF can offer safety in bandwidth consumption attacks such as worm propagation and DoS/DDoS, IP spoofing attack, and current most attack such as abusing of private information because it can offer the different QoS guaranteed network according to user's grades. User's grades are divided by 4 levels from Level 0 to Level 3, and user's security service level is decided according to level of the private information. Level 3 users that offer bio-information can receive secure network service that privacy is guaranteed. Therefore, GUMF that is proposed in this research can offer profit model to ISP and NSP, and can be utilized by strategy for secure u-Korea realization.

  • In this paper we classify security threat elements of satellite communication into four parts; Level-0(satellite propagation signal), Level-1(satellite control data), Level-2(satellite application data) and ground network security level according to the personality and data of the satellite communication network. And we analyze each security levels. Using analyzed security threat elements, we divide security requirements into signal security level and information security level separately. And then above the existent signal security level countermeasure, we establish the countermeasure on the basis of information security policy such as satellite network security policy, satellite system security policy and satellite data security policy in information security level. In this paper we propose secure satellite communication network through the countermeasure based on information security policy.

  • This is an era of technology and with the rapid growth of the Internet, networks are continuously growing. Companies are shifting from simple to more complex networks. Since networks are responsible to transmit huge data which is often sensitive and a point of concern for hackers. Despite the sizes of the networks, all networks are subject to several threats. Companies deploy several security measures to protect their networks from unauthorized access. These security measures are implemented from the device level to the network level. Every security layer adds more to the security of the company's network. Firewalls are the piece of software that provides internal and external security of the network. Firewalls aim to enhance the device level as well as network-level security. This paper aims to investigate the different types of firewalls, their architecture, and vulnerabilities of the firewall. This paper improves the understanding of firewall and its various types of architecture.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the operational performances by the investment level of information security in companies. The theoretical background summarized the meaning of information security, management information security, and network security. The research process was carried out in four stages. As a result of the analysis, the level of information security was classified into four groups, and the difference in operational performance was confirmed. According to the categorical regression analysis of the three dependent variables, independent variables such as network threats, non-network threats, executive information security awareness, industry, organizational size, and information security education all affected information security regulations, in-house information security checks, and information security budget investments. The theoretical implications of this study have contributed to updating the latest information security theory. Practical implications are that rational investments should be made on the level of information security of companies.

  • This dissertation provides a theroetic study on the network security in general , the firewall in particular . In fact, the firewall has been recognized as a very promising option to obtain the security in the real world network environment . The dissertation provides a thorough theoretic investigation on the various problems raised in the computer network, and also explores a methodology of the security against IP spoofing. Moreover, it investigates a systematic procedure to make analysis plans of the firewall configuration. Based on the above investigation and analysis , this dissertation provides two approaches to network security, which address a number of issues both at the network and at application level. At the network level. a new methdo is proposed which uses packet filtering based on the analysis of the counter plot about the screen router. On the other hand at the application level, a novel method is exlored which employs security software , Firewall-1, on Bastion host. To demonstrate the feasibility and the effectiveness of the proposed methodologes, a prototype implementation is made. The experiment result shows that the screen router employing the proposesed anti-IP spoofing method at the network level is effective enough for the system to remain secure without being invaded by any illegarl packets entering from external hackers. Meanwhile , at the application level. the proposed software approach employing Firewall -1 is proved to be robust enough to provent hackings from the outer point to point protocol connection. Theoretically, it is not possible to provide complete secuirty to the network system, because the network security involove a number of issues raised from low level network equipments form high level network protocol. The result in this dissertation provides a very promising solution to network security due to its high efficiency of the implementation and superb protectiveness from a variety of hacking.

  • Internet network routing system is used to prevent spread and distribution of malicious data traffic. This study is based on analysis of diagnostic weakness structure in the network security domain. We propose an improved integrated multi-level protection domain for in the internal route of groupware. This paper's protection domain is designed to handle the malicious data traffic in the groupware and finally leads to lighten the load of data traffic and improve network security in the groupware. Infrastructure of protection domain is transformed into five-stage blocking domain from two or three-stage blocking. Filtering and protections are executed for the entire server at the gateway level and internet traffic route ensures differentiated protection by dividing into five-stage. Five-stage multi-level network security domain's malicious data traffic protection performance is better than former one. In this paper, we use a trust evaluation metric for measuring the security domain's performance and suggested algorithm.

  • Through the increment of requirement for EC(Electronic Commerce) oriented communication services, security multicast communications is becoming more important. However, multicast to EC environment is much different from unicast concept most network security protocols. On the network security, using mandatory access control of multilevel architecture which assigns a specific meaning to each subject, so we accomplish access control. In this way, access control security based on the information security level is proposed. A security protocol based on the architecture proposed in this paper would be utilized in security multicast communications, group key management service and leveled security service through multilevel EC security policy, Also we discuss and propose the security level scaleability and key management method on the network.

  • Recently, due to the open architecture of the internet and wide spread of internet users, the cyber terror threatens to the network\`s weak point are tending grow. Until now, information security solutions are passive on security host and particular security system. This passive information security solution is weak from the attacks through the networks connected worldwide internet systems, and has limitation on the defense against cyber terror attacks. Therefore, network level integrated security function must be provided. In this paper, we consider technology limitations on the information security problems and its environment. Then we present the architecture and functions of policy-based information security services for network level active information security function. This paper also includes design of target system, which provide information security services. Finally, we discuss network level system deployment direction and discuss with Network Security Simulation.
