Existing coding aware routing algorithms focused on novel routing metric design that captures the characteristics of network coding. However, in packet coding algorithm, they use opportunistic coding scheme which didn't consider the queue state of the coding node and are equivalent to the conventional store-and-forward method in light traffic load condition because they never delay packets and there are no packets in the output queue of coding node, which results in no coding opportunity. In addition, most of the existing algorithms assume that all flows participating in the network have equal rate. This is unrealistic since multi-rate environments are often appeared. To overcome above problem and expand network coding to light traffic load scenarios, we present an enhanced coding-aware routing algorithm based on queue state and local topology (OQMCAR), which consider the queue state of coding node in packet coding algorithm where the control policy is of threshold-type. OQMCAR is a unified framework to merge single rate case and multiple rate case, including the light traffic load scenarios. Simulations results show that our scheme can achieve higher throughput and lower end-to-end delay than the current mechanisms using COPE-type opportunistic coding policy in different cases.

We consider the routing and wavelength assignment problem in survivable WDM transport network without wavelength conversion. We assume the single-link failure and a path protection scheme in optical layer. When a physical network and a set of working paths are given, the problem is to select a link-disjoint protection path for each working path and assign a wavelength for each working and protection path. We give an integer programming formulation of the problem and propose an algorithm to solve it based on column generation technique and variable fixing. We devise a branch-and-price algorithm to solve the column generation problem. We test the proposed algorithm on some randomly generated data and test results show that the algorithm gives very good solutions.
In this paper, we consider the routing and wavelength assignment problem in survivable WDM transport network without wavelength conversion. We assume the single-link failure and a path protection scheme in optical layer. When a physical network and a set of working paths are given, the problem is to select a link-disjoint protection path for each working path and assign a wavelength for each working and protection path. We give an integer programming formulation of the problem and propose an algorithm to solve it. Though the formulation has exponentially many variables, we solve the linear programming relaxation of it by using column generation technique. We devise a branch-and price algorithm to solve the column generation problem. After solving the linear programming relaxation, we apply a variable fixing procedure combined with the column generation to get an integral solution. We test the proposed algorithm on some randomly generated data and test results show that the algorithm gives very good solutions.
This paper presents a HNN(Hopfield Neural Network) model to solve the ORP(Optimal Routing Problem) in DSP(Distribution System Planning). This problem is generally formulated as a combinatorial optimization problem with various equality and inequality constraints. Precedent study[3] considered only fixed cert, but in this paper, we proposed the capability of optimization by fixed cost and variable cost. And suggested the corrected formulation of energy function for improving the characteristics of convergence. The proposed algorithm has been evaluated through the sample distribution planning problem and the simmulation results are presented.

In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), geographic greedy forwarding fails to move a packet further towards its destination if the sender does not have any closer node to the destination in its one hop transmission region. In this paper, we propose a enhanced geographic routing, called CGR(Cost based Geographic Routing) for efficient data delivery against void problem environment. CGR first establishes Shadow Bound Region and then accomplishes Renewing Cost Function Algorithm for effective greedy forwarding data delivery. Our simulation results show significant improvements compared with existing schemes in terms of routing path length, success delivery ratio and energy efficiency.
Mesh networks using WLAN technology have been paid attention as a key wireless access technology. However, many technical issues still exist for its successful deployment. One of those issues is the routing problem that addresses the path setup through a WLAN mesh network for the data exchanges between a station and a wired network. Since the characteristics of a WLAN mesh network can be very dynamic, the use of single routing protocol would not fit for all environments whether it is reactive or proactive. Therefore, it is required to develop an adaptive routing protocol that modifies itself according to the changes in the network parameters. As a logical first step for the development, an analytical model considering all the dynamic features of a WLAN mesh network is required to evaluate the performance of a reactive and a proactive routing scheme. In this paper, we propose an analytical model that makes us scrutinize the impact of the network and station parameters on the performance of each routing protocol. Our model includes the size of a mesh network, the density of stations, mobility of stations. and the duration of network topology change. We applied our model to the AODV that is a representative reactive routing protocol and DSDV that is a representative proactive routing protocol to analyze the tradeoff between AODV and DSDV in dynamic network environments. Our model is expected to help developing an adaptive routing protocol for a WLAN mesh network.

Virtual wavelength path (VWP) is the optical path when a wavelength conversion is possible in a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) network that is transmission infrastructure for the next generation high speed backbone networks. To achieve efficient design for VWP networks, we must consider VWP routing, wavelength assignment, and wavelength conversion while satisfying many technical constraints of the WDM networks. In this study we propose an integrated model for efficient VWP design in WDM networks. We also develope a 3-phase algorithm, each of which deals with routing, wavelength assignment and route and wavelength reassignment, respectively. In our computational experiments, phase 1 algorithm can solve the problem to the optimality for medium size test networks. Phase 2 algorithm is an efficient heuristic based on a reduced layered network and can give us an effective wavelength assignment. Finally, phase 3 algorithm reconfigure VWP routing and its wavelength assignment to concentrate wavelength conversion nodes in the suggested VWP network.

An mobile ad hoc network(MANET) is a collection of wireless computers (nodes), communicating among themselves over multi-hop paths, without the help of any infrastructure such as base stations or access points. Prior research in MANET has generally studied the routing problem in a non-adversarial setting, assuming a trusted environment. In this paper, we design and evaluate the Secure Zone Routing Protocol(T-ZRP), a secure ad hoc network routing protocol is based on the design of the hash chain. In order to support use with nodes of limited CPU processing capability, and to guard against Denial-of-Service attacks in which an attacker attempts to cause other nodes to consume excess network bandwidth or processing time, we use efficient one-way hash functions and don't use asymmetric cryptographic operations in the protocol. Proposed algorithm can safely send to data through authentication mechanism and integrity about routing establishment.
A wireless sensor network communication technique has been broadly studied with continuous advances in ubiquitous computing environment. Especially, because the resource of the sensor node is limited, it is important to reduce the communication energy by using an energy-efficient routing protocol. The existing cluster-based routing protocols have a problem that they cannot select a cluster head efficiently by randomly choosing a head. In addition, because the existing cluster-based routing protocols do not support the large scale of network, they cannot be used for various applications. To solve the above problems, we, in this paper, propose a new cluster-based routing protocol using representative paths. The proposed protocol constructs an efficient cluster with distributed cluster heads by creating representative paths based on hop count. In addition, a new routing protocol supports multi-hop routing for data communication between a cluster member node and a cluster head as well as between cluster heads. Finally, we show that our protocol outperforms LEACH and Multihop-LEACH in terms of reliability and scalability.

This paper deals with the optimization problem that decides the routing of connection between multi-source and multi-sink. For this problem, there is only in used the mathematical approach as linear programming (LP) software package and has been unknown the polynomial time algorithm. In this paper we suggest the heuristic algorithm with $O(mn)^2$ time complexity to solve the optimal solution for this problem. This paper suggests the simple method that assigns the possible call flow quantity to augmenting path of ($s_i,t_i$) city pair satisfied with demand of ($s_i,t_i$). The proposed algorithm can be get the same optimal solution as LP for experimental data.
