  • Network lifetime is a critical issue in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). In which, a large number of sensor nodes communicate together to perform a predetermined sensing task. In such networks, the network life time depends mainly on the lifetime of the sensor nodes constituting the network. Therefore, it is essential to balance the energy consumption among all sensor nodes to ensure the network connectivity. In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient data routing protocol for wireless sensor networks. Contrary to the protocol proposed in [6], that always selects the path with minimum hop count to the base station, our proposed routing protocol may choose a longer path that will provide better distribution of the energy consumption among the sensor nodes. Simulation results indicate clearly that compared to the routing protocol proposed in [6], our proposed protocol evenly distributes the energy consumption among the network nodes thus maximizing the network life time.

  • Ad hoc network is a kind of new wireless network paradigm for mobile hosts. Ad Hoc wireless networks consist of wireless mobile hosts forming a temporary network without the aid of any established infrastructure or centralized administration. Mobile hosts rely on each other to keep the network connected. Each host is not only mobile hosts but also router. So how to design a routing protocol is the most important problem. Dynamic source routing is a kind of routing protocol. In this paper we suggest a new automatic route shortening method and an energy-aware routing mechanism based on DSR.

  • Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is used for mapping a network address to physical address in many network technologies. However, since ARP protocol has no security feature, it always abused by attackers for performing ARP-based attacks. Researchers presented many technologies to improve ARP protocol, but most of them require a high implementation cost or scarify the network performance for using ARP protocol securely. In this paper, we present an ARP-disabled network system to neutralize the ARP-based attacks. "ARP-disabled" means suppress the ARP messages like request, response and broadcast messages, but not the ARP table. In our system, ARP tables are used for managing static ARP entries without prior knowledge (e.g. IP, MAC list of client devices). This is possible because the MAC address was designed to be derived from IP address. In general, our system is safe from the ARP-based attacks even the attacker has a strong power. Moreover, we saved network bandwidth by disabling the ARP messages.

  • The ad hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile nodes dynamically forming a temporary network without the use of any existing network infrastructure of centralized administration. Load-Balanced Ad hoc Routing(LBAR) protocol is an on-demand routing protocol intended for delay-sensitive applications where users are most concern with packet transmission delay. Although LBAR mechanism is a novel load balancing routing protocol for ad hoc network, it has own limitation in route path maintenance phase. Therefore, in this paper, we propose Advanced Load-Balanced Ad hoc Routing(A-LBAR) that is delay-sensitive and has an efficient path maintenance scheme. The robust path maintenance scheme is maintained by considering about nodal loads all over network and misbehavior of overloaded or selfish nodes. The proposed scheme provides good performance over DSR and AODV in terms of packet delay and packet loss rate when some misbehaving nodes exist in the network.

  • Because of the rapid increasing of network user, there are some problems to tolerate the network overhead. Recently, the research and technology of the user-level for high performance and low latency than TCP/IP which relied upon the kernel for processing the messages. For example, there is an Infiniband technology. The Infiniband Trade Association (IBTA) has been proposed as an industry standard for both communication between processing node and I/O devices and for inter-processor communication. It replaces the traditional bus-based interconnect with a switch-based network for connecting processing node and I/O devices. Also Infiniband uses RDMA (Remote DMA) for low latency of CPU and OS to communicate between Remote nodes. In this paper, we develop the SRP (SCSI RDMA Protocol) which is Storage Access Protocol on Infiniband network. And will compare to FC (Fibre Channle) based I-SCSI (Internet SCSI) that it is used to access storage on Etherent Fabric.

  • The CDMA mobile system consists of several subsystems and each subsystem has many processing elements that handle voice messages and control messages for performing CDMA call processing functions through CDMA Interconnection Network(CIN). For assuring a high throughput and a short delay in the CIN, an efficient medium access control protocol should be provided. In this paper, we propose a new access control protocol of CIN for providing real time communications in CDMA mobile system. Also, we evaluate the delay performance of the proposed access control protocol and compare it with that of the existing access control protocol. Through a set of numerical examples, we show that our proposed protocol provides a better delay performance than the existing protocol.

  • It is well known that spanning tree protocol (STP) is the most commonly used protocol in switching networks for smart grid. STP selectively blocks redundancy links of the network to prevent layer 2 loops in network, and it also has a functionality of backing up links. As with the other protocols, STP has been updated with the continuing development of the network. STP is a broad concept and it does not just refer in particular to defined STP protocol in IEEE 802.1D standards, it refers to updated spanning tree protocol based on STP. Because of uneven distribution of communication traffic in root bridge, STP cannot satisfy fast converge nce while the failure occurs near the root bridge or on the root bridge in tree topologies of STP. In this paper, we propose a novel method --- Hyper Cube Spanning Tree Protocol (HCSTP) to solve uneven distribution of communication traffic. Theoretically, hyper cube in our protocol increases throughput and improves the utilization of communication. The simulation results show that HCSTP can achieve comparative and considerably higher performance than other STP protocols in terms of reconnection.

  • This is the last part of the four-part describing the development of a packet-switched computer communication network named the KORNET. In this paper we describe the design and implementation of the packet assembler/dissassembler (PAD) protocol for the asynchronous channel service, and of the network management softwares. The line processing module-B(LPMB) system supporting the asynchronous line includes a PAD protocol, a packet mode DTE/DCE protocol converting to the X.25 protocol, and the asynchronous receiver/transmitter(ART) software. The network management software is operated in master central processing module(MCPM) which includes virtual circuit management (VCM) managing the user channel, the routing management and the high level protocol for communication between the network management center (NMC) and the network node processor(NNP). In this paper, the design, implementation and operation of the softwares for the above service functions will be described in detail.
