네온 컬러 패션에 나타난 배색 특성과 이미지 (Attributes and Image of Color Schemes in Neon Color Fashion)

  • The research is committed to inquire about the attributes of color schemes and their image, and the results are as follows : One, the preference of ranges of neon colors was explicit, and the frequency of use of neon colors distinctively diverged season by season. Two, it was observed that, with neon colors, an achromatic color scheme was a more preferred arrangement. As for chromatic colors, neutral and mid-tone natural colors were more favored since they did not tarnish the properties of neon colors and, yet, more effective exhibiting images in diversity and variety. Three, the neon color fashion generally displayed a dual image: its original classification embellished with neon colors rendering the image of powerful and futuristic sensation. Having been around since the early 2000's, the frequency and range of use of neon colors have been increasing rapidly mostly by the sports, leisure and related industries. Regardless of the fact, neon colors will be rediscovered with a variety of color schemes and expand their application.

현대 패션에 나타난 네온컬러의 특성 (Characteristics of Neon Color in Modern Fashion)

  • The purpose of this study is to set up the theoretical foundation for neon colors by recognizing them as important elements of sensitive design and by comprehending their existence as a color fashion responsive to psychological and social background. As the subject of the present the researcher has selected important oversea collections of these five years during which neon colors have fully emerged as popular colors of fashion. The procedure of research was to examine the concept and traits of colors and investigate the utility of neon colors in various fields. The important facts which are acquired from the present study are as follows. First, the analysis of frequency has found out the following color arrangements: neon color only-8.6%(35), neon color+colorless-58.3%(236), neon color+ colored -14.8%(60),neon color+colorless+colored-18.3%(74), and others. The case of neon color used as monochromatic (color) was distinguished into two: single neon color all through and the same color used differently. Color arrangements were divided into analogous arrangement, separation arrangement, dominant arrangement, multi-color arrangement, and accent arrangement. Second, the internal significance of neon colors expressed in fashion can be interpreted into three: emphasis, optical Illusion, and amusing. This study has attempted to raised up the aesthetic value of various color expression and to expand fashion image by interpreting the trends of color fashion together with the traits and aesthetic meaning of color in fashion. The future study intends to expand the expression area of fashion design and to interpret molding beauty through the image of color arrangement and through fashion style utilizing neon colors.

  • 21C를 살아가는 우리에게 TV나 영화, 잡지, 인터넷 등 다양한 매체나 영상물은 이제 없어서는 안 될 존재이다. 시대가 바뀌고 무한한 정보의 공유와 기계의 발전으로 인해 유행과 사상이 빠르게 전달되고 있으며, 좀 더 감각적이고 자극적인 것을 추구하는 경향이 있다. 우리 주위에는 마치 공기처럼 특별한 존재감 없이 인간의 식별능력을 넘어선 수많은 색(컬러)이 있다. 이러한 컬러는 시각문화에 직접적인 영향을 주게 되고, 그 시대의 트렌드(trend)를 가장 빠르게 반영하게 된다. 바로 이 점에서 최근 각광받고 있는 네온컬러의 중요성이 부각되어 나타나고 있다. 그러나 여러 선행 연구에서 컬러에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어져 왔으나 네온컬러에 대한 연구는 이루어 지지 않고 있어 네온컬러 연구의 필요성을 느끼게 되었다. 이와 같이 시각문화 속에서의 컬러의 중요성과 그 심리를 파악하며 네온컬러의 특성과 시각문화가 연관성이 있는지 알아내고 그것을 어떻게 미술교육에 응용하여 실연(實演)할 것인가를 연구 하였다.

메타버스에서의 미래주의 패션 조형성 - DRESSX 가상패션 플랫폼을 중심으로 - (Formative Characteristics of Futurism Fashion in Metaverse - Focusing on DRESSX the virtual fashion platform -)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the formative characteristics of futuristic virtual fashion revealed in virtual fashion platforms targeting the human body. First, the current status of fashion in the metaverse and futurist fashion were reviewed and summarized by referring to prior research. Next, among the items posted on DRESSX, "futurism" was searched and those resturning a positive result were collected as research subjects. The characteristics were organized into design elements: colors, shapes, materials, and patterns. Futuristic aesthetic characteristics were derived from the characteristics of each design element. As a result, color showed the characteristics of achromatic, vivid and neon colors, multi-color and gradation, multi-color due to reflected light, and color conversion. As for the form, a body-concious look or exaggerated silhouettes, spatial expressions in geometric structures, forms imitating living things, and fluid silhouettes using clouds were prominent. Materials showed the digitization of universal clothing materials, application of industrial materials, use of metal materials, and unrealistic materials. In the patterns, geometric abstract patterns, patterns that reveal the digital world view, and moving fluid patterns appeared. The aesthetic characteristics of futurism in virtual fashion were revealed in four categories: visual dynamics, high-tech sensibility, variability, kineticisim. Visual dynamics were revealed in geometric forms, and intense neon colors. High-tech sensibility was prominent in the use of metal and industrial materials, light emission, and patterns of the digital world view. The expression of multiple colors by reflected light and the change showed the variability of futurism. The use of unrealistic materials, such as clouds and fire and fluid silhouettes expressed kineticisim. The infinite expressiveness of virtual fashion made it possible to actively express the aesthetic characteristics of futurism.

아르데코 패션의 색채에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Color of Art Deco Fashion in Paris ($1920\~1930$))

  • The purpose of this is to investigate the color of Art Deco Fashion in Paris. (1920-1930) Through the age of Art Deco style, the enormous modern cities were built up and numerous life-constructions were designed conspiciously in Paris. Under this situation, the usage of the 'color' became very important element of design area and also it bestowed new form upon the modern design. The black beauty of Art Deco style was the outcomes of cubism, black-arts, and pragmatism. And the black beauty was regarded as the proper color to represent simplicity. Simplicity was the best way to express Art Deco style. The color and light of metal were used adequately to express a geometrical and streamline form; it was raised as a new beauty in this period. The primary colors were used to recognize the simplified forms effectively. New pastel colors, which signified differently with Art Nouveau were born centering around the Youth Culture like a summer resort and a sun bath. Also they expressed neon signs and atmosphere of beach by means of the tropical colors. At last the color of Art Deco style opened the new age. And it was started to use the various colors in design field from at this time.

중첩단서 및 선택적 주의가 주관적 윤곽의 발생에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Superimposition Cue and Selective Attention on the Formation of Subjective Contours)

  • 주관적 윤곽의 발생이 상향처리 과정에만 의존하지 않고 중첩단서나 선택적 주의와 같은 인지요인에 의한 하향처리 과정에 의해 영향을 받을수 있음을 검증하기 위해 두개의 실험이 수행되었다.첫번째 실험에서는 중첩단서의 효과를 조사학 위해서 중첩되어 있는 세개의 Kanizsa 삼각형의 유도요소에 색정보를 첨가하여 발생시킨 네온색확산 현상이 사용되었다. 서로 다른 두 색으로 이루어진 Kanizsa 삼각형을 피험자에게 제시한 다므 중첩부위의 윤곽표면의 색을 측정했는데,중첩부위가 중첩하는 삼각형의 색으로 지각되는 것이 확인되었다.이런 결과는 중첩단서가 일종의 하행정보로 작용할 수 있음을 의미한다.두번째 실험에서는 선택적 주의의 효과를 알아보기 위해 중첩의 방향이 애매해서 관찰자의 의도에 따라 반전가능한 두개의 Kanizsa사각형을 제시하고 그 중 한 쪽의 사각형에 선택적으로 주의를 기울이도록 한 다음 중첩부위의 색을 측정하였다. 그 결과,중첩부위가 두 사각형 중 선택적 주의를 받은 사각형의 색으로 지각되었는데,이것은 선택적 주위와 같은 인지요인이 주관적 윤곽의 발생과정에 중요하게 영향을 준다는 것을 의미한다.결론적으로 본 연구는 주관적 윤곽의 발생이 상향처리 과정에만 의존하지 않으며,중첩단서나 선택적 주의와 같은 인지요인에 의한 하향처리 과정에 의해서도 예민하게 영향을 받을수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

4대 해외 패션 컬렉션의 디자인 key-word 비교분석 - 2018년 패션 컬렉션을 중심으로 - (Comparative analysis on design key-word of the four major international fashion collections - focus on 2018 fashion collection -)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine fashion trends and the direction of the four fashion collections by analyzing the design key-words of the four major international fashion collections in 2018. The data of this study was collected by extracting the key-words from Marie Claire Korea in 2018, with the total of the collected data numbering 2,144. The data was analyzed by text mining using the R program and word-cloud, and a co-occurrence network analysis was conducted. The results of this study are as follows: First, the key-words of fashion collection designs in 2018 were fringe and ruffle detail, silk and denim fabric, vivid color, stripe and check pattern, pants suit item, and oversized silhouette, focusing on romanticism and sport. Second, seasonal characteristics of the fashion collections were pastel colors in S/S, primary and vivid colors in F/W. Details were embroidery and cutouts in S/S, patchwork and fringe in F/W. Third, the design trends of the four major fashion collections were presented in the Paris collection: stripes, check patterns, embroidery, lace, tailoring, draping, romanticism, and glamor. In the Milan collection, checks, prints, denim, and minidresses reflected sport and romanticism. The London collection included fringe, ruffles, floral patterns, flower patterns, and romanticism. The New York collections included vivid colors, neon colors, pastel colors, oversize silhouettes, bodysuits, and long dresses.

20세기 스포츠웨어에 표현된 니트디자인 (The Knit Design Expressed in the 20th Century Sports wear)

  • Modern society is age of sports just as health and leisure became dominant concern, which has caused the fixation and development to sports wear considered as fashion for everyday dress. This paper focused on the development process and aesthetic characteristics of knit design expressed in the 20th century sports wear. The importance and direction of knit design in modern sports wear is expected. Style, items, fabrics, colors, details and top designers were analyzed in sports wear from the 1910' s to 1990' s. Sports wear can be categorized into two of the active sports wear and spectator sports wear. Since disappearance of division between ordinary wear and sports fashion in the 1970' s, the functional wear of leggings, cycle shorts, exercise clothes, leotard, and leg warmer appeared. Vicennial developments of synthetic fibers and new fabrics have caused the great changes in knit design. Colors were vivid in the 1950' s, metallic in the 1970' s and neon in the 1990' s. Sportive sense was expressed by various details. The dominant knit designers who expressed aesthetic characteristics to sports wear were Coco Chanel, Claire McCardell, Balenciaga, Andre Courrege, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint-Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, and Giogio Armani.

밀레니엄을 맞이하는 1990년대 패션과 메이크업의 경향 (Chronological Trends of Fashion and Make-up in 1990s for the Next Millennium)

  • This paper analyzes the trend of fashion and make-up in 1990s and their relevancy to each other. Based on the chronological analysis, we propose a new category for the fashion and make-up trend in 1990s, which is 1) traditional ecology period(1990∼1994), 2) versatile trial or decadent period(1995∼1997), and 3) soft landing period based on the minimal neo-ecology and romanticism(1998∼2000). Between 1990 and 1994, there was no differentiation in seasons. It appeared that spring/summer and fall/winter trend have had no big differences. At the beginning in 1990s, it was basically based on ecology concept that emphasizes the natural image. However after 1995, seasonal differences in trend are appeared and there were various make-up designs. The trends of spring/summer in 1996 could be named as color revolution period that emphasized the unique and individual expression of each person. In 1997, black, pastel, and brown colors were the result of reinterpreting the classic and sexy images of 1960s to natural and modernistic image of 1997. Purple color started to be introduced to us. In 1998, pastel tone, pink, and purple color expresses the glamorous look based on the romantic feminism. S/S of 1999 is mainly represented by minimalism and avant garde. For fall/winter trends, brown color lines make-up comes to mix with romantic image and developed into wine, orange, neon colors in 1995 and 1996. These colors were the symbol of property and sentiment. Gold make-up emphasizing the eye area was the tendency of that period. In 1997, the fear of coming end of century was expressed as decadent image. At that time, ethnic and romantic image appeared with vivid color lines, gold, red and violet. In 1998, romanticism was popular again with modernism and ethnic mood. It expressed the romantic elegant image. The trend has returned to the ecology mood again in 1999. This ecology is somewhat different from the previous ecology. It adds a sofistaiced feeling and sportic fashion. To express natural and sportic image, they choose pink blush. In coming 2000 as a new millennium, the yellow color will be main the stream to express vision, dream, and happiness in both fashion and make-up as an accent color. The minimal design and minimal tools will be used for the design and make-up, respectively. In addition, the fusion concept will dominate the fashion and make-up industry in the globalized and boundariless age. Through this paper, we hope that make-up can be accepted as a part of total fashion in its relationship with other elements such as shoes, clothes and accessory and that it can be considered as a independent art that has direct influence on people and industry.

1990년대의 패션과 메이크업 경향에 관한 연구 (A Study of Fashion and Make-up Trend in 1990s)

  • The main focus of this paper is to provide clear understanding about the concept of make-up as total fashion by defining the essential meaning of it. First, we would like to go over the concept of make-up and total fashion, then analyze the make-up image, the changes of colors and images of make-up overtime and fashion that have influenced over those changes. In this paper, we analyze the trend of fashion and make-up in 1990s and their relevancy. Through this paper we hope that make-up can be accepted as a part of total fashion in its relationship with other elements such as shoes, clothes and accessory and that it can be considered as a independent art that has direct influence on people. The trend of Spring/Summer between 1990 and 92is the image of natural beauty and comfortable and modernistic image that can be experienced through nature. In 1992, there was a revival look of 1960s and 1970s. Make-up also followed this trend. The overall color tone was to give natural and stable images with pastel tone to soften the images. This tone brought back the ecology of 1960s. The theme of restoration in humanity and nostalgia was reflected in clothing, and these trend changed the ecology of make-up to peace, love and romantic ecology which was expressed in coral, blue, and green tone to create intelligent image of woman. Year 1996 could be called as color revolution period that emphasized the unique and individual expression of each person.
