Multi-Agent based Negotiation Support Systems for Order based Manufacturer (제조업체의 주문거래 자동화를 위한 멀티에이전트 기반 협상지원시스템)

  • In this research, we developed a Multi-Agent based Negotiation Support System to be able to increase the competitive power of a company in dynamic environment and correspond to various orders of customers by diffusion of electronic commerce. The system uses the agent technology that is being embossed as new paradigm in dynamic environment and flexible system framework. The multi-agent technology is used to solve these problems through cooperation of agent. The system consists of six sub agents: Mediator, manufacturability Analysis Agent, Process Planning Agent, Scheduling Agent, Selection Agent, Negotiation-strategy Building Agent. In this paper, the proposed Multi-Agent based Negotiation Support System takes aim at the automation of transaction process from ordering to manufacturing plan through the automation of negotiation that is the most important in order-taking transaction.

  • 본 논문은 시간 기반의 약속 방법을 강조하는 시간제한적 협상구조를 소개한다. 에이전트들이 보내는 메세지에 약속기간을 첨부함으로써, 기존의 contact wet protocol(on)을 시간이 제약되어 있는 환경에서 효과적으로 사용될 수 있도록 확장할 수 있으며, 그로부터 시간제한적 협상 구조(TBNF: Time-Bounded Negotiation Framework)를 만들 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 약속기간을 가진 메시지를 의미론적으로 해석하고, 세가지 프로토콜 - 무보장 프로토콜, 승인보장 프로토콜, 그리고 유한시간 보장 프로토콜을 비교하는데, 이것들은 시간제한적 협상구조에 모두 포함될 수 있다. 제안된 협상 구조는 약속 기간 연장 요청이라는 새로운 메시지 유형과 부정적 약속(Negative Commitment)이라는 새로운 약속 개념을 가지고 있다. 시간제한적 협상 구조(TBNF)는 각 에이전트의 적응적 협상 전략을 수용하면서 효율적이며 효과적인 전자상거래 협상에 대한 구조를 제공할 것으로 예상되며, 이의 유용성을 평가하기 위해 실험결과를 비교 분석하였다.

A Behavioral Scientist's Essay on the Art of Negotiation (협상기예(協商技藝)에 관한 행동과학적(行動科學的) 소고(小考))

  • In this paper the negotiation skills, which have been so far known as non-scientific or artistic field, are analyzed on the basis of behavioral science view point. Negotiator's behavior and psychological situation are believed to influence the negotiation result significantly, therefore, those factors are reviewed with behavioral science framework. Some concepts developed in Cognitive Psychology to explain the decision making models - prominence, commitment, escalation of commitment, framing, adjustment and anchoring, endowment effect - are reconceptualized and applied to the negotiation skill analysis and negotiation skill development in this paper. As the results of this research, various negotiation skills which have been so far believed as irrational and artistic are now able to be explained on the basis of sound logic and reasoning. This means also that valuable and elegant negotiation skills should be further developed by behavioral scientists.

  • Electronic commerce has many advantages compared to the traditional way of doing business such as up to date information and rich service for less cost. There is a growing number of electronic commerce applications on the Internet. Using software agent technology, the market framework offers timesaving automation of auctions and flexibility through negotiations among the agents. In this research, we attempt to evaluate the performance of a negotiation decision function that considers the potential competitors in competitive market environment as well as that of a negotiation decision function that does not. For this evaluation, this study adopts the electronic marketplace as an application domain in which many sellers and buyers compete for limited resources in the marketplace.

  • Agents in multi-agent systems (MAS ) are required to achieve their own goals. An agent s goal, however, can conflict with others either when agents compete with each other to achieve a common goal or when they have to use a set of limited resources to accomplish agents divergent goals. In either case, agents need to be designed to reach a mutual acceptable state where they can avoid any goal conflicts through negotiation with others to achieve their goals. In this paper, we consider a BDI agent architecture where belief, desire, and intention are the three major components for agents mental attitudes and represent resource-bounded BDI agents in logic programming framework. We propose a negotiation algorithm for BDI agents solving their problems without goal conflicts in distributed cooperative environments. Finally, we describe a simple scenario to show the effectiveness of the negotiation algorithm implemented in a negotiation meta-language.

Agent-based System for Complex Decision Making and Negotiation: Application to Virtual Manufacturing (복잡한 의사결정과 협상 환경을 위한 에이전트 기반 시스템: 가상생산 응용)

  • In an agent-based system, each agent has its own decision making capability and competes, cooperates, and communicates each other with an agent interface. Virtual manufacturing has characteristics as a typical application area of agent-based system: complex and time-bound decision making and negotiation. The time-boundness influences the choice of decision making models and design of protocols for internal and external negotiation. In this paper, we provide a case study which suggests a time-bound framework for external and internal negotiation between the agents for virtual manufacturing environment. We illustrate decision making model selection strategy and the system architecture of the agent-based system for the complex and time-bound environment.

  • 멀티 에이전트 기술은 다양한 환경변화와 복잡한 문제 능에 보다 빠르고 유연하게 대처하기 위한 새로운 패러다임으로 부각되고 있다. 따라서 많은 분야에서 동적인 문제를 해결하기 위해 멀티 에이전트 시스템 구축하고자 연구가 진행중이다. 그러나, 기존의 멀티 에이전트 시스템을 개발하기 위한 Framework에 관한 연구들은 사용자를 대신하여 자율적으로 작업을 수행하는 일반적인 에이전트간의 정보 교환과 공유, 에이전트의 재활용, 이형질의 에이전트를 통합하기 위해 서로 각기 다른 에이전트간 사업 협력 구조를 제시하는 연구, 즉 멀티 에이전트가 가지는 기본적인 기능만을 제시한 Framework가 대부분이었다. 이러한 기존 멀티 에이전트 Framework의 한계점을 해결하고자 최형림 외 5명은 기본적인 멀티 에이전트 Framework의 기능뿐만 아니라 협상이라는 문제를 해결하기 위해 필요한 기능을 가지고 있는 MAFNS(Multi-Agent Framework for Negotiation Systems)를 설계하였다. 본 연구에서는 MAFNS의 구조를 이용하여 협상 메시지에 대한 평가, 협상 메시지의 관리, 협상 에이전트간의 빠르고 안정된 메시지 교환 지원 등과 같은 협상에 필요한 필수적인 요구 기능을 에이전트로 개발하고 각 에이전트 간의 유기적인 협력을 통해 자동으로 서버 판매 협상 문제를 해결할 수 있는 에이전트 시스템을 개발하였다.

The Plural Subject Account of Group Beliefs Using Grounding Concept

  • In this paper, we propose a plural subject account of group beliefs using grounding concept, which bridges the gap between the two main approaches of ACLs, the mentalistic accounts and the social commitment accounts. The key idea of this Gilbert's plural subject account of group beliefs is to extend the grounding logic into the common ground framework for the semantics of ACLs which is fully verifiable, fully formalized and easily applicable. Thus, we formalize the proper group belief concept using common ground framework and we define the semantics of the primitive speech acts of FIPA-ACL such as inform, request and confirm as case studies. Also, we illustrate our framework on an e-commerce agent purchase negotiation and compare this proposed framework with two traditional semantics for ACLs.

Study on Changes in Military Negotiations under the Kim Jeong-eun Regime through Working-Level Talks for Gaeseong Industrial Complex (김정은시대 개성공단 실무회담 분석을 통한 군사협상 변화 연구)

  • This study is trying to suggest the continuity and changes that would be made in inter-Korean military negotiations in the future under the Kim Jeong-eun regime by analyzing the recent inter-Korean Working-Level Talks for Gaeseong Industrial Complex based on 'anti-Japanese guerilla style negotiation model, the military negotiation model under Kim Jeong-il era. Especially, through analysis of the inter-Korean Working-Level Talks for Gaeseong Industrial Complex, it is verified that behavior similar to that in the military talks in the past is found even in the economic negotiations. Such analysis leads to an assumption that negotiations under the Kim Jeong-eun regime would be made within the category of the military negotiations under the Kim Jeong-il era. Fundamentally North Korea will change but try to achieve its objectives in the military talks within the existing frame of strategic culture rather than changing it. Such phenomenon will continue for some time. In the future inter-Korean military talks, however, North Korea will try to change its behavior to cope with its financial difficulties. Accordingly, the South Korea's government will have to have paradigm shift toward inter-Korean military negotiations. Especially, Kim Jeong-eun's studying abroad in the past will make him change in the negotiations. At this moment, the South Korean government must make continuous efforts to induce dialogue and negotiation. In order to induce the North Korea to change, the development of economic norm logic with the united front applied in the strategic culture of military negotiation and the formation of a value system in the North Korea's military negotiation policy makers will lead to the creation of a new military negotiation framework.

Design of An Adaptive Agent-Based Electronic Commerce Framework (적응적 에이전트 기반 전자상거래 프레임워크 설계)

  • 오늘날의 1세대 구매 에이전트는 상품의 전체 특징 변수(attribute)에 대해서보다는 주로 판매자들이 제시한 가격만 비교해서 구매 행위를 대행해 주고 있으며, 간혹 가격 이외의 변수에 대해 비교를 해주는 에이전트의 경우에도 협상(negotiation) 과정에서 전체 변수를 적절히 고려해주는 협상 모델은 찾아보기 힘들다. 따라서, 전자 상거래의 협상 모델(negotiation model)을 가격 변수뿐만 아니라 상품의 전체 변수로 확장시켜 주는 것이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 또한 수많은 전자상거래 업체가 나타남에 여러 도메인간 에이전트 이동 기술과 도메인의 상품 특성에 따른 협상을 진행하는 적응적 에이전트의 필요성이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 유틸리티(utility)이론과 간결한 휴리스틱스(simple heuristics)에 바탕을 두어서 가격, 상품의 특성, 보장 기간, 서비스 정책 등에 대해서 협상을 벌이는 다중변수 에이전트 협상 프레임워크인 Pmart를 제시하고 이를 확장하여 다중 도메인에서 에이전트의 이동성을 보장하고, 각 도메인의 협상 특수 지식을 XML로 제공받아 적응성을 가지는 적응적 구매 에이전트를 제안한다.
