Cracking and bending strength evaluations of steel-concrete double composite girder under negative bending action

  • The steel-concrete double composite girder in the negative flexural region combines an additional concrete slab to the steel bottom flange to prevent the local steel buckling, however, the additional concrete slab may lower down the neutral axis of the composite section, which is a sensitive factor to the tensile stress restraint on the concrete deck. This is actually of great importance to the structural rationality and durability, but has not been investigated in detail yet. In this case, a series of 5.5 m-long composite girder specimens were tested by negative bending, among which the bottom slab configuration and the longitudinal reinforcement ratio in the concrete deck were the parameters. Furthermore, an analytical study concerning about the influence of bottom concrete slab thickness on the cracking and sectional bending-carrying capacity were carried out. The test results showed that the additional concrete at the bottom improved the composite sectional bending stiffness and bending-carrying capacity, whereas its effect on the concrete crack distribution was not obvious. According to the analytical study, the additional concrete slab at the bottom with an equivalent thickness to the concrete deck slab may provide the best contributions to the improvements of crack initiation bending moment and the sectional bending-carrying capacity. This can be applied for the design practice.

Analysis of shear lag effect in the negative moment region of steel-concrete composite beams under fatigue load

  • Shear lag effect was a significant mechanical behavior of steel-concrete composite beams, and the effective flange width was needed to consider this effect. However, the effective flange width is mostly determined by static load test. The cyclic vehicle loading cases, which is more practical, was not well considered. This paper focuses on the study of shear lag effect of the concrete slab in the negative moment region under fatigue cyclic load. Two specimens of two-span steel-concrete composite beams were tested under fatigue load and static load respectively to compare the differences in the negative moment region. The reinforcement strain in the negative moment region was measured and the stress was also analyzed under different loads. Based on the OpenSees framework, finite element analysis model of steel-concrete composite beam is established, which is used to simulate transverse reinforcement stress distribution as well as the variation trends under fatigue cycles. With the established model, effects of fatigue stress amplitude, flange width to span ratio, concrete slab thickness and shear connector stiffness on the shear lag effect of concrete slab in negative moment area are analyzed, and the effective flange width ratio of concrete slab under different working conditions is calculated. The simulated results of effective flange width are compared with calculated results of the commonly used specifications, and it is found that the methods in the specifications can better estimate the shear lag effect in concrete slab under static load, but the effective flange width in the negative moment zone under fatigue load has a large deviation.

건강한 노인에서 심장-발목 혈관지수로 측정한 동맥 경직도와 체질량 지수간의 상관관계 (Relationship between Arterial Stiffness as Measured by the Cardio-Ankle Vascular Index with Body Mass Index in Healthy Elderly Subjects)

  • 비만과 혈관 경직도간에 역상관 관계가 보고되고 있으나, 고령자나 노인에서는 일관된 결과를 보이고 있지 않다. 이 연구에서는 건강한 노인을 대상으로 CAVI로 측정한 동맥 경직도와 BMI간의 연관성을 조사하였다. 이 연구는 2018년 7월부터 2019년 6월까지 경기지역 종합병원에서 건강검진을 시행한 65세 이상 건강한 노인을 629명을 대상으로 하였다. 대사증후군 진단은 US National Cholesterol Education Program(NCEP)의 Adult Treatment Panel (ATP) III의 기준에 따랐으며, NCEP-ATP III의 기준 중 허리둘레 및 비만기준은 WHO의 기준에 따랐다. 모든 연구 대상자는 생화학적 혈액검사 및 CAVI를 측정하였다. 남녀 모두에서 CAVI치는 정상체중군보다 비만군에서 낮았으며, 성별(P=0.047), 연령(P<0.001), BMI (P<0.001), 허리둘레(P=0.009)는 CAVI에 영향을 미치는 요인이었다. 또한 성별, 높은 혈압, 고혈당은 CAVI치의 독립적인 정적 예측인자이지만, 비만은 부적 예측인자로 나타나 CAVI와 BMI는 역상관 관계를 보였다. 결론적으로, 이 연구는 노인을 대상으로 CAVI와 BMI간에 역상관 관계를 나타내며, BMI로 측정한 비만은 CAVI의 부적 예측인자였다.

Mapped relationships between pier settlement and rail deformation of bridges with CRTS III SBT

  • To study the rail mapped deformation caused by the pier settlement of simply - supported bridges with China Railway Track System III (CRTS III) slab ballastless track (SBT) system under the mode of non-longitudinal connection ballastless track slab, this study derived an analytical solution to the mapped relationships between pier settlement and rail deformation based on the interlayer interaction mechanism of rail-pier and principle of stationary potential energy. The analytical calculation results were compared with the numerical results obtained by ANSYS finite element calculation, thus verifying the accuracy of analytical method. A parameter analysis was conducted on the key factors in rail mapped deformation such as pier settlement, fastener stiffness, and self-compacting concrete (SCC) stiffness of filling layer. The results indicate that rail deformation is approximately proportional to pier settlement. The smaller the fastener stiffness, the smoother the rail deformation curve and the longer the rail deformation area is. With the increase in the stiffness of SCC filling layer, the maximum positive deformation of rail gradually decreases, and the maximum negative deformation gradually increases. The deformation of rail caused by the pier settlement of common-span bridge structures will generate low-frequency excitation on high-speed trains.

광용적맥파와 SF-36을 이용한 여성의 삶의 질 관계 연구 (A Study on the Correlation between the Second Derivative of Photoplethysmogram and Quality of Life using SF-36 Questionnaire in Women)

  • Background and Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between between one's quality of life (QoL) level and the arterial stiffness estimated by the second derivative of photoplethysmogram (SDPTG) for women patients. Methods: A retrospective chart review was performed on charts of 407 women patients (38.38±11.82 years) who visited Gangdong Kyung Hee Hospital between April 1st and September 30th, 2011. Vascular aging index (VAI, (b-c-d)/a), b/a, c/a, and d/a were considered as the arterial stiffness indexes, and the Korean version of the Short-Form 36 (SF-36) were completed to estimate one's physical and mental QoL. Results: Physical and mental components of the SF-36 in older group (50, 60, and 70 years-group) were lower than those in younger group (20 and 30 years-group). Large arterial stiffness-related b/a in older group was higher that in younger group, while small arterial stiffness-related d/a in older group was lower that in younger group. Physical and mental component scores of the SF-36 had the negative correlations with VAI and b/a (r; -0.153~-0.195), while had the positive correlations with c/a and d/a (r; 0.147~0.228). Conclusions: In conclusion, this study suggests that convenient and cost-effective SDPTG test may serve as an auxiliary tool to estimate one's physical and mental QoL.

피로효과를 고려한 레일패드의 정적스프링계수 변화에 따른 콘크리트 슬래브 제도의 거동분석 (A Behavior Analysis of HSR Concrete Slab Track under Variety of Rail Pad Static Stiffness on Fatigue Effect)

  • 본 연구의 주목적은 고속선 콘크리트 슬래브 궤도시스템에서 레일패드의 피로효과에 따른 영향을 분석하는 데에 있다. 이에 3차원 해석모델 및 실내시험을 통해 도출된 레일패드의 피로효과(경화, 스프링계수 증가)가 고속선 궤도의 역학적 거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 콘크리트 슬래브 궤도의 적정 탄성력 확보여부를 의미하는 레일패드의 적정스프링계수 산정에 관한 연구의 일환으로 고속철도 콘크리트 슬래브 궤도에 적용된 레일체결시스템에 대한 실내시험을 통한 레일패드의 정적스프링계수를 산정하고 체결시스템에 대한 피로시험을 통해 도출된 피로효과가 고려된 레일패드의 스프링계수 변화를 해석모델에 적용함으로써 향후 고속선 콘크리트 슬래브 궤도운영에서의 열차 주행안정성 확보 및 합리적인 궤도유지관리를 위한 기초데이터를 확보하고자 한다.

Model and Control of Novel Surface-Motor in Plane Motion

  • Model of the novel Surface motor (SFM) is briefly discussed, and two types of control method including two-order feedback circuit control, indirect acceleration feedback control are analyzed to solve unstable characteristic such as low damp and negative stiffness. The simulation results demonstrate that the system has plain amplitude and wide frequency band arranging from 0 to 8kHz with no resonant peak through indirect acceleration feedback control.

공진 자이로의 재평형 모드 구현과 각속도 측정 실험 (Force-To-Rebalance Mode of a Resonator Gyro and Angular Rate Measurement Tests)

  • This article focuses on a hemispherical resonator gyro driven by the Coriolis effect. A hemispherical shell, called a resonator, is maintained in the resonance state by amplitude control and phase locking control. Parametric excitation has been used to control the amplitude. For rate measurement mode or FTR mode, nodal points have been kept to an amplitude of zero. Angular rate measurement has been demonstrated by rotating a resonator. Frequency mismatch between two stiffness principal axes is a major cause of low performance: vibrating pattern drift and reduced control effectiveness. This mismatch has been reduced significantly by the addition of small mass. A negative spring effect, which lowers resonance frequencies, has been verified experimentally.

  • This paper deals with a novel shunted actuator, which has a capability to suppress multi-mode vibration amplitudes by using a pair of piezoceramic patches. In order to describe the characteristic behaviors of shunted dampers connected with a series and a parallel resistor-negative capacitive branch circuit, the stiffness ratio and loss factor with respect to the non-dimensional frequency are considered. To obtain a guideline model of a piezo/beam system connected with a series and a parallel resistor-negative capacitor branch circuit, the governing equations of motion is derived through Hamiltons principle and a piezo sensor equation as well as a shunt damping matrix is developed. The theoretical analysis shows that the shunted actuator developed in this study can significantly reduce multiple-mode vibration amplitudes simultaneously over the whole structural frequency range.

횡하중에 대한 휨재의 부모멘트 재분배 (Redistribution of Negative Moments in Beams Subjected to Lateral Load)

  • KCI 2007, ACI 318-08에 제시된 모멘트재분배 방법은 등분포 중력하중을 받는 연속 휨재에 대하여 검증된 방법이다. 횡하중에 의한 모멘트재분배 및 비탄성 거동은 중력하중과 전혀 다른 메커니즘을 발생된다. 이 연구에서는 기초역학에 근거하여 중력하중과 횡하중을 받는 철근콘크리트 모멘트골조의 보에 발생되는 모멘트재분배와 소성변형의 관계를 정량화하고, 이로부터 보의 소성변형능력에 근거한 모멘트재분배 설계법을 제안하였다. 제안된 모멘트재분배비는 KCI 2007, ACI 318-08 등 기존 설계기준과 마찬가지로 극한한계상태의 단면해석으로 결정되는 철근의 인장변형률로 정의된다. 또한 모멘트재분배비는 경간, 철근비, 단면강성, 변형경화 거동에 의하여 영향을 받는다. 제안된 방법을 사용하여 탄성해석으로 구한 설계모멘트를 재분배시키는 설계 가이드라인 및 예제를 제시하였다.
