  • We prove a functional central limit theorem for a linear random field generated by negatively associated multi-dimensional random variables. Under finite second moment condition we extend the result in Kim, Ko and Choi[Kim,T.S, Ko,M.H and Choi, Y.K.,2008. The invariance principle for linear multi-parameter stochastic processes generated by associated fields. Statist. Probab. Lett. 78, 3298-3303] to the negatively associated case.

  • The PSC 2-span-continuous-bridge by Up-Down Method on construction process is used for this research. It is measured the strain of lower-steel-plate at continuous section on the active range of negative moment at the stage of introducing compressive stress to bottom-plate and compared with results of structural analysis. On the basis of these results, it is confirmed the introduced compressive stress tか bottom-plate. The object of this research is presenting the degree of continuity at the stage of lifting up process.

  • Inner support regions of continuous steel and concrete composite bridge decks, transverse crackings are easely developed by tensile forces due to live loads and primary and secondary effects of concrete shrinkage. Since these cracks have an influence on the durability of bridge decks, crack width should be controlled within allowable limit values. Although crack width is a function of steel stress, bar diameter, bar spacing, etc, the current code for the amount of longitudinal reinforcements provides only one value of 2 percent of the concrete area. In order to investigate cracking bahaviors of composite girders with the variation of the longitudinal steel ratios, negative flexural tests are conducted on five composite girders and crack width and crack spacing are compared to ACI Code and Eurocode. Based on the test results, it is discussed the suitability of the current code for the longitudinal steel ratio.

  • At the moment, construction industry has negative images such as faulty construction, 3D industry and corruption/bribe and they are being projected onto normal people and those engaged in the industry through various news media. Not only does this worsen the lack of skilled manpower by affecting high school students who will be responsible for the construction industry in the future but also makes the future of the industry uncertain by promoting the avoidance of industrial jobs. Therefore, this study suggested basic data for improving the images of construction industry by investigating interest and images of workers in the industry that high school students think as promising construction manpower, and extracting the present negative images through evaluation of associated images.

  • Let {$X_k;k{\in}N^d$} be centered and identically distributed random field which is asymptotically negative dependent in a certain case. In this note we prove that for $p{\alpha}$ > 1 and ${\alpha}$ > ${\frac{1}{2}}$ $E{\mid}X_1{\mid}^p(log^+{\mid}X_1{\mid}^{d-1})$ < ${\infty}$ if and only if ${\sum}_n{\mid}n{\mid}^{p{\alpha}-2}P$($max_{1{\leq}k{\leq}n{\mid}S_k{\mid}}$ > ${\epsilon}{\mid}n{\mid}$) < ${\infty}$ for all ${\epsilon}$ > 0, where log$^+$x = max{1,log x}.

  • We investigated the electronic structure and magnetic properties of zinc-blende CrP/SrBi interface by using the all-electron full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method within the generalized gradient approximation. It is found that the half-metallicity is destroyed when the two half-metals are in contact. Magnetic moments of the atoms forming the supercell differ considerably from the respective values obtained for the bulk structures of the two materials. Cr atoms being and not being in contact with Bi atoms have magnetic moment 3.43 and $2.69{\mu}_B$, respectively. Bi atoms lose their majority electrons which results in their negative polarization. Alkaline Sr atoms are very weakly negatively polarized. The spin distribution within the supercell is such that well separated regions of positive and negative polarization are seen, especially around the layer of P atoms being in contact with the layer of Sr atoms.

  • Hair style is an expression of beauty for individuals and at the same time a clear social representation. It may be regarded as a means of knowing social recognition about social values and groups of the moment. The hair style clearly discriminated so-called the new woman, emerged during Chosun's modernization, and the old woman. Thus the purpose of this study is to examine changes in social recognition about the behavioral style of the new woman by relating them with women' s movements and with changes in female education policies. Results of the study can be described as follows. First, the new women in the 1920s were evaluated positive as those who were leading struggles against Japan and enlightenment campaigns. But between the 1920s and the 1930s, those women were thought to be negative in that they were appearance-oriented, extravagant and sticking themselves to reality. Second, how a variety of social figures recognized short-hair was determined here through reviewing the mass media of the 1920s. At that time, some men were positive about short-hair like feminists while others denied the convenience of the hair style in life and were negative about the new women's individualism and pursuance of luxurious appearance. Third, there were both positive and negative social recognitions about short-hair in the 1930s. which were supported by the mass media of that time.

  • A railway bridge with a double composite section is proposed to enhance the structural performance of existing two-girder bridges because the governing design parameter of railway bridges is the flexural stiffness. The concrete deck in negative moment regions is neglected in the design of continuous composite bridges assuming the concrete slab has no resistance to tension. Therefore, the flexural stiffness of the composite section in the negative moment region is reduced resulting in the increase of the depth of the steel section. In order to resolve this disadvantage, several methods are suggested and the double composite section is one of the excellent solutions for extending the span length and increasing the flexural stiffness. In this study, push-out tests on lying studs and mixed stud shear connection with lying and vertical studs were performed to investigate the behavior of the shear connection in the double composite section. Static strength of the shear connection was evaluated through the test results and numerical analyses.

  • This study proposes a double-composite section to enhance the s serviceability of twin-girder railway bridges, especially in terms of the flexural stiffness of the composite section in negative-moment regions. This paper deals with experiments on continuous twin-girder bridge models with 5m-5m span length with the proposed double-composite action. From results of static tests on the bridge models, several design considerations were investigated including effective width, shear connection and ultimate strength of the double-composite concrete slab showed full shear connection, which verified the suggested empirical equation. From the flexural behavior of the double-composite section, the effective width of the bottom concrete slab can be evaluated as that of the concrete slab under compression. The ultimate flexural strength of the bridge models verified the validity of the rigid plastic analysis of the double-composite section. Design guidelines were suggested based on the test results.
