The conventional methods, however, have mostly been conducted based on questionnaires printed on paper, which has posed numerous problems in researches designed to measure the visual demands. Along with the continued development of the internet and computer media, there have been examples of interactive media applications as a means of improving the existing paper-based research methods. This study is a follow-up to the primary study that unveiled cautious variances of the media. 200 samples of media-based researches were extracted to be used in analysis of in-depth visual demands. 200 housewives from rural Iud development zones, who exercises the most influence in household purchases in these regions where the problem of rate of distribution Is coming under the limelight, were chosen as the subjects. The subjects were selected from land development zones of Gimhae-si and Haeundae. At first, the research was prepared as a web-based endeavor but it employed direct research of field personnel in consideration of that this research is in the beginning. This follow-up study deals mainly with the visual demands for which cautious variances were detected in the primary study and includes analysis of mainly ground Plan layout, space coloration, livingroom utilization, and vlsual composition of LDK. Media research had the advantage of zero rate of questionnaire error due to a pre-programmed search routine, and it was possible to ascertain the actual trade-off basis demands of the residents in terms of ground plan layout. In addition, whereas conventional research methods based on still images were susceptible to the preconceptions of the respondents, the interactive media allowed for easy understanding of the spatial layout and thus made it possible for all respondents to provide answers under the same conditions.

  • This study analyzed the domestic and foreign cases of the existing smart home service and grasped the needs of the future smart home service in the future of the Internet of Things. As with all smart homes, the effectiveness of future use is important when comparing needs and random services according to user usability and destination patterns. In order to improve the reliability and to promote the development direction, we conducted a questionnaire survey of 110 people in 20 ~ 30 age group. The survey shows that the reliability of the smart home service is low. The low trust factors include: 1. lack of usability; 2. lack of device recognition; 3. lack of specialization services. Since the smart home service is still in the early stage, various smart home services and ecosystem should be constructed according to user's needs.

  • With the recent surge of public interests in real estate markets, public demand on cadastral information including cadastral maps has been increasing rapidly. However, the torrent system that provides cadastral information falls far short of meeting public demand due to its main focus on government users. In order to reduce the gap between public demand and supply of cadastral information, a new business model is needed that fulfills public needs and at the same time generates profits for service providers. The main objective of this paper is to identify a potential business model that satisfies the above conditions. To achieve this objective, we have explored the unmet needs of public users in real estate transactions and examined whether the unmet needs can best be served by the resources and capabilities of Korea Cadastral Survey Corporation. Then, we have crafted a detail business model i.e., Syndication model, that includes value propositions, resource maps, and revenue and cost estimations. Finally, a plan is proposed to serve government users better with the financial surplus from the proposed business model. The results of this study can be useful for other similar areas including GIS, ITS and telematics, academically as well as practically.

  • This research is about local impacts of concentrated social disadvantage in a specific urban district, and is discussing these issues by focusing on previous research from Western countries. Further, by analyzing the results of a field survey conducted in this district, I am clarifying the reality of socially disadvantaged areas and the needs of their residents, while seeking results supporting a theory of inclusive area revitalization. With this survey I could verify that the aging of local residents and the concentration of low-income population is increasing, and in this district an unbalanced community mix is becoming apparent. Currently, insecurities concerning economic and health aspects are the most serious issues. In response to the residents' needs counseling on housing issues and social services, that become necessary with advancing age, like health services or housing support, are increasingly required. Since today laws for antidiscrimination (namely, Dowa) measures are outdated it is necessary to establish a community based approach or a neighborhood based governance model, in addition to the existing public support, as response to these local challenges and needs.

  • This study aims to introduce "Street-Housing" Redevelopment Projects adopted by the revision of regulations in 2012 and promote them by surveying residents' needs. The objectives of the street-housing redevelopment projects are to maintain existing street systems and redevelop housing by small units, as an alternative to the large-scale housing redevelopment by the expropriation. Residents, however, do not seem to support the new projects since they are satisfied with their current housing, have difficulty in raising funds, and are uncertain about proceeding with the pre-arranged. Despite these barriers, residents may support the projects if project charges can be lowered by the reduction in each resident's share and the increase in supporting funds. This study proposes new practical methods for realizing the projects: choice of an appropriate site, engaging for resident's participation in projects, reduction in project charges, and removal of barriers to co-operative development. etc.
