근적외선 형광 영상시스템의 PWM 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on PWM Control of Near-Infrared Fluorescence Imaging System)

  • 근적외선을 이용한 형광 영상은 방사능에 대한 걱정이 없고 수술 중 실시간으로 영상 확인이 가능한 장점이 있다. 따라서 감시림프절 생검에 형광 영상을 이용하는 실험이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 형광 영상장비는 LED, 카메라와 같은 고발열 부품이 사용되어 안정적인 발열 억제 수단으로 수랭 방식의 쿨링 시스템을 사용하고 있다. 형광 영상장비에서 수랭 쿨링 시스템은 큰 부피를 차지하여 장비의 소형화 측면에서는 단점이 된다. 장비의 소형화를 위해 공랭 쿨링 방식을 이용할 경우 발열이 문제가 된다. 본 논문에서는 장비의 소형화를 위해 PWM 제어를 이용한 공랭 방식을 적용하여 실험을 했고, 장비를 장시간 사용해도 문제가 없는 일정한 품질의 형광 영상과 발열 억제 성능을 확인했다.

  • We have developed a control electronics system for an infrared detector array of KASINICS (KASI Near Infrared Camera System), which is a new ground-based instrument of the Korea Astronomy and Space science Institute (KASI). Equipped with a $512{\times}512$ InSb array (ALADDIN III Quadrant, manufactured by Raytheon) sensitive from 1 to $5{\mu}m$, KASINICS will be used at J, H, Ks, and L-bands. The controller consists of DSP(Digital Signal Processor), Bias, Clock, and Video boards which are installed on a single VME-bus backplane. TMS320C6713DSP, FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array), and 384-MB SDRAM(Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) are included in the DSP board. DSP board manages entire electronics system, generates digital clock patterns and communicates with a PC using USB 2.0 interface. The clock patterns are downloaded from a PC and stored on the FPGA. UART is used for the communication with peripherals. Video board has 4 channel ADC which converts video signal into 16-bit digital numbers. Two video boards are installed on the controller for ALADDIN array. The Bias board provides 16 dc bias voltages and the Clock board has 15 clock channels. We have also coded a DSP firmware and a test version of control software in C-language. The controller is flexible enough to operate a wide range of IR array and CCD. Operational tests of the controller have been successfully finished using a test ROIC (Read-Out Integrated Circuit).

무인기로 촬영한 무 재배지 영상의 정규식생지수(NDVI)를 활용한 병충해 분석 연구 (Analysis of Fusarium Wilt Based on Normalized Difference Vegetation Index for Radish Field Images from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)

  • This paper compares and analyzes Fusarium wilt of radish by using an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) with the NDVI-7 camera. The UAV have taken near-infrared images of the Radish field in Gangwon area, which is affected by Fusarium wilt. Based on those images, we analyzed NDVI(Normalized difference vegetation index) and compared conditions of radish by using the Blue value among Regular Vegetation Index in NDVI. First, the radish field is divided into three fields for radish, soil and vinyl. Each field has separate Blue values that are radish 0.4890, soil 0.2959, vinyl -0.0605 respectively. Second, radish condition levels are divided into four stages which are normal, early, middle, and late stage of Fusarium wilt. The average values of each stage are normal 0.5165(100%), early 0.4565(88%), middle 0.3444(66%), and late 0.1772(34%) respectively. This result shows that this NDVI value is validated by measuring conditions of Radish and soil.

Consideration of a Circumsolar Dust Ring in Resonant Lock with the Venus

  • Interplanetary space is filled with dust particles originating mainly from comets and asteroids. Such interplanetary dust particles lose their angular momentum by olar radiation pressure, causing the dust grains to slowly spiral inward Poynting-Robertson effect). As dust particles move into the Sun under the influence of Poynting-Robertson drag force, they may encounter regions of resonance just outside planetary orbits, and be trapped by their gravities, forming the density enhancements in the dust cloud (circumsolar resonance ring). The circumsolar resonance ring near the Earth orbit was detected in the zodiacal cloud through observations of infrared space telescopes. So far, there is no observational evidence other than Earth because of the detection difficulty from Earth bounded orbit. A Venus Climate Orbiter, AKATSUKI, will provide a unique opportunity to study the Venusian resonance ring. It equips a near-infrared camera for the observations of the zodiacal light during the cruising phase. Here we consider whether Venus gravity produces the circumsolar resonance ring around the orbit. We thus perform the dynamical simulation of micron-sized dust particles released outside the Earth orbit. We consider solar radiation pressure, solar gravity, and planetary perturbations. It is found that about 40 % of the dust particles passing through the Venus orbit are trapped by the gravity. Based on the simulation, we estimate the brightness of the Venusian resonance ring from AKATSUKI's locations.

The circumstellar disk and wide-orbit companion candidates arund T-Tauri Star

  • We prensent the near-infrared(NIR) images of the asymmetric circumstellar disk around a T-Tauri star in the ${\rho}$ Ophiuchi star-forming region, and two faint stellar objects around central star. These results were obtainted with the Subaru Telescope with HiCIAO(the High-Contrast Instrument with Adaptive Optics) and IRCS(the InfraRed Camera and Spectrograph). The disk shows center-offset from the star and a strong morphological asymmetry along both the major and minor axis. The physical conditions in the disk is derived from the infrared visibilites results and the complete spectral energy distribution using HOCHUNK3D, Monte-Carlo radiative transfer code. Two companion candidates are separated by 11.6 arcsec(~1450 au at 125 parsec) and 4.34 arcsec(~540 au at 125 parsec). This could be the first case, which imaged both of planetary mass companions and disk around same star. We discuss physical structures of the disk, and probablity that two candidates are real companions.

SYNERGY BETWEEN IRSF AND AKARI

  • InfraRed Survey Facility (IRSF) is our facility for near-infrared (NIR) observation located at South African Astronomical Observatory. The NIR camera SIRIUS on the 1.4m telescope provides three $7.7^{\prime}{\times}7.7^{\prime}$ images in the J ($1.25{\mu}m$), H ($1.63{\mu}m$), and $K_S$ ($2.14{\mu}m$) bands simultaneously with a pixel scale of 0.45". IRSF has three unique capabilities, which are suitable for follow-up observations of AKARI-selected objects. Several synergistic studies with AKARI are in progress from stars to galaxies. We introduce advantages of the above unique capabilities of IRSF for further synergistic studies between AKARI and IRSF.

High-sensitivity NIR Sensing with Stacked Photodiode Architecture

  • Near-infrared (NIR) sensing technology using CMOS image sensors is used in many applications, including automobiles, biological inspection, surveillance, and mobile devices. An intuitive way to improve NIR sensitivity is to thicken the light absorption layer (silicon). However, thickened silicon lacks NIR sensitivity and has other disadvantages, such as diminished optical performance (e.g. crosstalk) and difficulty in processing. In this paper, a pixel structure for NIR sensing using a stacked CMOS image sensor is introduced. There are two photodetection layers, a conventional layer and a bottom photodiode, in the stacked CMOS image sensor. The bottom photodiode is used as the NIR absorption layer. Therefore, the suggested pixel structure does not change the thickness of the conventional photodiode. To verify the suggested pixel structure, sensitivity was simulated using an optical simulator. As a result, the sensitivity was improved by a maximum of 130% and 160% at wavelengths of 850 nm and 940 nm, respectively, with a pixel size of 1.2 ㎛. Therefore, the proposed pixel structure is useful for NIR sensing without thickening the silicon.

역열손실 방법을 이용한 냉장고 얼음 배출구 영역에서의 열손실 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Heat Loss Improvement in a Refrigerator Ice Dispenser by Using Reverse Heat Loss Method)

  • 본 연구는 빌트인 냉장고 내부를 가열하여 냉장고의 열손실 특성을 파악하는 역열손실 방법을 이용하여 냉장고의 열손실이 큰 부분이 어느 영역인지를 분석함으로써 이를 개선하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해서 적외선 열화상 카메라를 이용하여 냉장고 외부 표면 온도를 측정함으로써 열손실을 분석하였으며 이를 통하여 상대적으로 열손실이 큰 부분인 얼음배출구에서의 열손실 개선을 시도하였다. 또한, 이에 관한 열전달 전산해석을 수행하여 열손실 구조를 규명하였으며 적용 가능한 열손실 개선 방안인 모서리 부분의 곡면반경을 증가하여 열손실이 개선되는 특성을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결과로 부터 얼음배출구 모서리 부분의 곡면 반경을 30mm로 하면 모서리 부분의 열손실이 최적으로 개선되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • The quality of agricultural products is represented a degree of freshness and a special qualify that has a close relation to commercial value. To grade tomatoes, it used to nondestructive equipment of a charge-coupled device(CCD) camera and near-infrared(NIR) spectrum analysis method. The NIR spectrum analysis method is used to determine internal qualities such as a brix and an acidity. The CCD camera is used to measure external qualities like color and a size of tomatoes. This paper explaines the structure and movement of the automatic grade system and applies the algorithm for deformed tomtatoes and characteristics of tomatoes through image processing to the grade system.

적외선 카메라를 이용한 비제약적 환경에서의 얼굴 인증 (Face Identification Using a Near-Infrared Camera in a Nonrestrictive In-Vehicle Environment)

  • 차량 내부에는 조명 변화, 부분적인 가림 및 운전자의 상태 변화와 같은 제한되지 않은 조건들이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 비 제약적인 차량 환경에서의 운전자 얼굴 인증 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 차량 내부 및 외부의 조명 변화에 따라 발생하는 얼굴 이미지의 변화를 최소화하기 위해서 근적외선(NIR) 카메라를 사용한다. 특히 정면에서의 강한 빛에 노출된 얼굴 이미지를 처리하기 위해서, 학습 이미지의 평균과 분산을 사용하여 정상적인 얼굴 이미지로부터 빛에 과다하게 노출된 이미지로 변환하여 사용한다. 따라서 정상적인 조명에서의 얼굴 분류기와 강한 정면광에서의 얼굴 분류기를 각각 동시에 만들어진다. 제안하는 얼굴 분류기는 얼굴 랜드마크를 추출하고 각 랜드마크의 신뢰도 점수를 합산하여 얼굴을 최종적으로 식별한다. 특히 각 랜드마크를 인식하여 부분적인 얼굴 가림에 강하기 때문에 안경이나 선글라스를 착용하는 상황에서도 높은 성능 향상이 가능하다. 즉 가려지지 않은 남은 랜드마크의 점수를 사용하여 운전자를 인식할 수 있다. 또한 등록 운전자와 미등록 운전자 간의 관계를 고려한 새로운 인식 거부 방법과 새로운 평가 방법을 논문에서 제안한다. 자체 취득한 데이터 셋, 공인된 PolyU 및 ORL 데이터 셋으로 실험한 결과 제안한 방법이 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다.
